Wonderful staff! It didn’t take them long to learn what my usual order is. Everyone there is extremely friendly and does what they can to make our group feel welcomed. The coffee is also exceptional with full flavor and lots of caffeine!

This place has so much unrealized potential. Its as if they want to see how long they can survive despite doing so many things poorly. Im not saying it is the most poorly run restaurant that Ive been to, but its probably the most poorly run that is still open. The space and location are great, but the lighting is dim, there is no music, and, due to concrete floors, metal furniture, and lack of décor, its like an echo chamber with no atmosphere. The food is actually pretty good when theyre not out of half of the menu. And, the service is not bad when more than one person is working. Its just such a shame that this place continues to limp sloppily along when so many other restaurants make a real effort yet fail. And, in case the covid excuse is offered, I can say from personal experience that these issues existed long before anyone ever heard the word covid. I keep giving them another chance hoping they right the ship, but today was my last. :(

The BEST coffee! I came in from out of town and grabbed a mocha and some delicious baked goods. Everything was on point. The folks are friendly too! I also bought a bag of Tanzanian Peaberry Coffee to try at home. I really liked the idea of fair trade, single source coffee beans roasted and ground by a small business. Can I just say, the aroma had me drooling before I got home. This is the BEST coffee Ive ever had! I just ordered another 1lb bag and two other varieties in 1/2lb size. The shipping was super quick priority mail and I had my goodies in less than a week. Will definitely be back and I highly recommend you try this spot!

Walking around 12:20 pm. The place had gnats, sticky tables, and look like the floors were not seeped or mopped in a week. the coffee was burn badly Im by no means a coffee expert but I know good coffee from bad. This place needs a nudge in the right direction to help it grow more.

My cashier was wearing a bi flag chain and a trans flag bracelet and made the best coffee ive ever had and i didnt know their pronouns and so i refered to a never-fail they/them. Someone give them a raise for real.

Updated reviewIn the past Ive given this place 3 stars but Ive since upgraded my review as its one of but at few places that got to a point of realizing that these coivid mandates were not being backed my any actual science so they lightened up on enforcing them. The staff is friendly, food is average but coffee and espresso is pretty good so I tend to patronize this place.

Nice place for a meeting. I had an issue with how my food was rung up and told that each location has different options available and there are no individual menus to go by showing what is offered for food. Next time, I will know to ask better questions or not order a meal to prevent confusion.The house blend coffee is nice.

What a delightful coffee shop! Huge variety of coffees from all over the world. The breakfast items were fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was very comfortable and conducive to relaxing with friends or just by yourself. A big change from the big coffee chain where you stand in a line and then rush off with your expensive coffee.

This Mill Mtn location is my favorite in town. Overstuffed sandwiches at an affordable price, a great selection of homemade pastries and of course a fantastic coffee and tea selection.Most of all I enjoy the ambiance. This very cold night it was the perfect place to grab a bite and pop open the laptop for a couple hours to get some work done with a great endless mug of coffee. **Try the chicken salad.

Very good food (I had the grilled cheese with a twist). Service was excellent! Very chill atmosphere. I dont drink coffee but had a delicious hot chocolate instead.

It’s a hit and miss place. Service great during week. But the weekend are bad. people walkout because line was back up.they do have good food! And if you have a Drive through window you should have a four person staff all the time. Then maybe the place would be cleaner. Good on floor for days!

Asked for an iced caramel coffee with 2 shots of espresso and told them I dont luke it too sweet. When I tried it, it was way too sweet and didnt taste any espresso what so ever. McDonalds coffee is better then this.

The service was great and fast, the staff was awesome and the food was delicious. So glad to have a locally owned coffee shop with quality food and drinks. Though Im not a huge coffee drinker, the tea is always my favorite go to!

One of my regular spots. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The coffee is good and they have hot food service as well.

They got a star for atmosphere.But the coffee was burnt and the manchild behind the counter was beyond rude. The pistachio muffin was loaded with unnecessary green dye. No pistachios.The kid behind the counter had some sort of an attitude. Served my food without gloves. Handled money and didnt wash hands.When I asked for a coffee stirer, he handed me an unwrapped wooden stick with his bare hands. I was clearly dressed in my essential worker uniform. I have to take precautions. When i asked if he was going to wear gloves, he got snotty and said well then help yourself and pointed to a cup full of wooden stirers, touched by the last hundred people in the store

The place itself is very clean and nice looking. My husband had a hot coffee and enjoyed it. I had an iced mocha which was good as well. My complaint is that the portion size isnt good for the price. At least the steak wrap is very small. Also we ordered the steak wrap which says in the menu It comes with peppers and onions. When we got the wrap it didnt have them in it. I went to the cashier and she said that its additional. Well on the menu I said it says that it comes with it. The other lady who works there said that its supposed to come with it. We said we wanted it the way it Came. About 5 minutes later they came out with a bowl of peppers and onions. Didnt offer to remake us one. I feel that they could have offered better customer service. It wasnt bad but this is our first impression of the business. I would try again to give a second chance.

Really good, as always...as it has been for the last 30 years or so. Disappointed that they dont have matcha, but I got over it with my chai latte that was good. Keep up the good work!

I have been a patron for twenty years and I love their selection of coffees. Blended drinks are very good as well as the selection of sweet treats and baked goods. Staff is knowledgeable and courteous. I will say that I liked the old location better just because it was more accessible, but they did a great job renovating and the atmosphere is very nice in this location as well.

Overall, great chain of coffee shops in the Roanoke area, but this is definitely my favorite location. Mill Mountain offers quite a few good roasts and displays them with full descriptions along one wall of this shop for all to read. The staff are friendly and brew the coffee well. The cooks in the back also serve up solid sandwiches and other typical coffee shop food. My only turn off here was the silence which can settle in at certain times throughout the food. I have stayed for a few hours at a time when working on projects and the silence gets overpowering in the lulls between the morning and lunch rushes. Nevertheless, the space is still nice and the coffee gets the job done!

Great place to meet, talk, work or just hang out and sip coffee. Laid back atmosphere, friendly wait staff, great selection of coffee, all make this a favorite of mine. Also a great selection of snacks, wraps and desserts.

Emily and Riley were great helping me out. Customer suggested there Mill Mountain Brew blend and the Ethiopian style coffee which resembled a Starbucks blend was amazing!

Such a great place to meet/study because the internet connection is great ! My only complaint is that the service is slow sometimes.

The hot green tea orders was great bc it was left off the order and made at window. Though it was the first item on. However, a hot need Carmel macchiato handed cold when there was no car in front of you, makes it seem as though the orders placed and paid for in the car line are if no importance. If list my receipt number and time so those working during this time today would get the picture. Horrible service horrible coffee

Its okay some of the staff there are pretty short or is giving you information about what they have to offer. Maybe theyre just having a bad day. it never hurts to be a little more friendly and patient with people who are not familiar with the brands if you asked a question theres no need to be quite so abrupt with a NO, just my opinion.

Coffee. All I had was coffee. It was hot, it was good, I put half and half in it. Would drink it again.They have other things there too, but I only had the coffee which earned 4 stars.

I enjoyed this particular Mill Mountain Coffee. Ive been there several times. The coffee is priced better than Starbucks, its quick, and the baked goods they have are quite excellent. The ambience is pleasant, and I appreciate that they showcase local artists in their decoration. One complaint I have is that several times Ive been the tables or chairs have not been properly cleaned. There have been crumbs, and spills that have not been wiped. But all in all, its a nice coffee shop and I will continue to meet friends and hang out here.

Its ok. Its not the pretentious wannabe of Sweet Donkey, but it really lacks... I dont know... I like the lack of a crowd on a Saturday night but when you end up being the only two in the place as the workers sweep and look like they wish they could be someplace, anyplace, else... Its getting harder and harder to hate Starbucks when you get to see what the alternative world without a Starbucks would have to offer... At least in Roanoke...

Favorite place in town for coffee!

This is a nice coffee shop....located right beside of Tanglewood Mall....easily accessible with lots of different things to chose from.... Food, coffee, tea, sandwiches, scones and lots more..... I even named my oldest son after the Italian soda Loganberry.... I dont think they have this flavor anymore though... Hes 23now... Definitely worth trying out....

I used to really love this place. The coffees really good still and the food is good as well. At a recent visit there were gnats flying all over the place around the creamer. Also quite a few ants crawling around by my table and window.

This place is so dirty. We saw so much grime and so many hairballs all over the floor. The tables were dirty. The floors in the back were dirty. The creamer area was dirty. And it wasnt busy. No reason for so much dirtiness. Plus, or we clearly stuff that had built up.The staff was unfriendly and slow. I wish I could take my tip back.

If you like local coffee shops, here ya go. Friendly staff, artwork for sale on the walls. Usually has a few twenty-somethings diligently working on their laptops. Sandwiches are good, solid variety of coffees and flavorings.

On the positive, the service is always speedy (reason for 2 stars). But more often than not, the associates are just plain rude. The girl at the drive through today seemed bothered to take my money and hand me an iced tea. Working in retail myself, Im hesitant to post negative reviews, as dealing with the public can be challenging and some people make a career out of bashing businesses online. However, this wasnt the first time I had a negative experience and today just tipped me over the edge.

Coffee is a bit on the darker side and their roasts, even though from different locations all kind of taste the same. But this is a classic coffeehouse that can make you anything anyway you want it with a wealth of flavors.

Coffee is good. Selection super. A variety of good sandwiches, etc. Gathering place inside and out to relax with friends. Reminds me of the coffee perk on the TV comedy Friends.

The food is good and healthy! The service SUCKS!! I walk in to an impatient person..annoyed that I am there! Brunette lady just looked through me barely said a word. When I asked about a side...is that it with a shrugged shoulder. I felt not welcomed..🙁 Ill love the pesto wrap not sure if Ill go back!

Spacious yet cozy, this place has good treats and drinks. The outdoor seating is amazing and has ample shade, and indoors is clean and crisp. The lack of comfy chairs is a little sad, but it discourages camping which is good for business.

Excellent cafe au lait and scone. Nice place to catch up with our friend.

As a longtime customer of the original Mill Mountain Coffee and Tea, circa 1990, Id like to say the experience is just as lively and rich as always. Alas, the downtown original, displaced from its original mooring, also left behind all funky fun sprinkled with local art, photography, handbills, posters, and edgy baristas. The line extension at Tanglewood Square is outfitted well enough--plenty of room, parking, and a patio. However, its no place for work nor study as the internet is so highly filtered that barely any websites are available. So for this coffee lover, the browser message site can not be reached speaks for the coffee shop in question as well.

Mediocre sandwich - had the turkey reuben, it was not at all worth the 8 dollars I paid for it. It resembled a sandwich Id make at home if I was running short on ingredients. There might have been 2 thin slices of turkey on bread that looked like it came from the nearest discount store. Not at all impressed. Will not be back here for food anytime soon.
