Great place for Asian food grocery shopping. The owner is from Taiwan and imports very authentic food and ingredients. She is super nice and open-minded and really considers the needs of her customers and will import special stuff as people demands.

We love it there. We have been there with our daughter who is from Taiwan,many years ago. Have been many times since to buy things you cant find in the store. Every time it has been clean, kind and friendly service and staff. Being from Latina I have had a hard time finding banana leaves anywhere else, so glad that they have them here.

Favorite place in Roanoke, VA for Asian food. My wife being from Okinawa, and me living in Okinawa for a few years, we love the selection of Japanese items. The owner/ cashier is always very nice to us and helpful.

I went there with Faceshield and the owner said its not good enough. She kind of wanted me to leave so I left. There are so many Asian markets around Roanoke. She doesnt want my money. I can go somewhere else. Bad impression

This is a very welcoming and capable shop, for ingredients in Asian cooking. Whether from scratch, or if you need heat and eat. Well balanced fresh vegetables and fruits. Local produce, and fresh is best. And i enjoy the clean store and helpful owners. And if they do not have it, they can get it. Wonderful shopping expirence.

Easily best of the Asian supermarket in Roanoke also Salem. Just the lady here accuse her customers of lying. she lied herself more than 1 time. My wife caught her in her lie. It was about some grocery item coming from Japan. it did not come from Japan the lady was very upset when we told her we knew it did not come from Japan, she claimed it came all the way from Japan. Watch out if she tells you something like this, and do the homework. Check up on her claim. Other wise, for my family this is the most convenient Asian grocery place in Roanoke. Mostly satisfied 3/5 just watch where the lady says the items come from. She is also untrustworthy on other things to.

It is a small shop with very friendly owners! They are very helpful and both of my daughters love to go to the shop to pick up food! Also this is my favorite Asian market in Roanoke. Good selection of ramen, always stocked with the natto my wife loves! I would recommend this shop highly! Good selection, very clean, and friendly owners!

OK Asian Market. Taipei Supermarket isnt my first choice. The lady here is rude and she told my wife once she was featured in a magazine for being the best Asian Market in Roanoke but when asked about which magazine and which month/year it was issued, the lady appeared to be full of it. I wouldnt trust this lady here. Shes rude because when my wife came in a few times, she was on her phone and refused to speak to my wife because she was on the phone.

Good Asian market. I always stop here to get ingredients for Asian dishes when Im in Roanoke. The male who works here is friendly but the female is rude. The female wears glasses.. watch out for her. She was on her phone when I walked in one time, and she said I dont have any time to talk to you When I asked her to get off her phone and help me find something.

Very rude lady who works here at Taipei Supermarket on Peters Creek. I tried to ask her simple questions about some ingredients and she wouldnt get off her phone long enough to even talk to me. Then when she finally did, she said I dont like to talk to customers and ignored me. If you dont like to talk to customers maybe you should just close down!

Cleanest asian mart in Roanoke. You dont have to worry about buying expired foods. My favorite asian super market to shop at in Roanoke.

UPDATE 2017 I recently stopped by Taipei Supermarket again in February 2017 to buy some chill paste and other ingredients. They didnt have Oyster Sauce... which is common in the traditional chinese dish I wanted to make. The lady got irritated with me asking why they didnt have it too which didnt help things... She told me they were getting some more tomorrow. I was surprised they didnt have something I needed but got everything else.They used to be about 5 stars here... now they are about a 3. The lady here with the glasses I think her name is Amay, is not very friendly. She used to be. Not anymore though. She acted very irritated when I asked about the Oyster Sauce. I tried to ask her how she had been doing lately and she looked at me like I was crazy and said*I dont chat to people. OK!* really rudely. Then she said *If you came to chat, go somewhere else*. She used to be very friendly and tell me all kinds of things. Dont know if business is sour or whats gotten into her. Either way, service has taken a nose dive down. Will be returning in a few days to get the Oyster Sauce.. Or I might go somewhere else in town where they give better service.

Sometimes there are many choices, sometimes not many. cheap price. My wife often comes here to buy things. There is a lady here. He is not very polite. It seems to be a bit anti-social. You can see his photo on Googleimages.I heard that this has a well-known white sex. Wu graduated from Peking University and joined Chinese nationality. I heard that the foreigner often came to 2011 to give them a very good comment. No comments from him. Not many people. Will know this supermarket.
