Pace is all right. Next to 15 other gas stations plus places to eat. Slightly rundown but the bathrooms are semi-clean.

Used to be a good place to stop. All the restaurants are drive thru only. Iron skillet is buffet only because there is no cook. But someone has to cook food for the buffet right? Plenty of parking, just dont expect any conveniences.

Third shift review only. The non-tech (seems to be the only one there) has been extremely disrespectful, threatened to pop my tires with spikes, didnt want to do his job, and doesnt take safety into consideration. Im and O/O with 14 years of experience and Ive never been driven to curse at somebody until 08/11/2021 with this particular worker.If youre down for the night and need maintenance, take it ANYWHERE else but here.Wish I had a name. Man was 62, 260 lbs, white, glasses, some stubble and youll be able to tell because he is lazy.

♡ the field out back with pond & geese. Great walking area for our K9 companion. Tons of semi parking all around. Hotels nearby & lots of restaurants within walking distance plus the inside restaurant with dine in available. Thats a huge plus. Definitely marking this spot..

Convenience store, restrooms were very clean so as the shower I paid for. Breakfast was great you just need to be patient with the ladles as theyre trying hard to serve you. Wish every truckstop was as clean and neat as this place. Thank you for giving us that kind of atmosphere atleast that makes me feel like home. Will stop here everytime I come around. Would say one thing for the showers was a little warm in there and fan wasnt spinning.

This Petro like most around the country has taken a nose dive. About the only good thing here is the free parking.

Great full service travel stop! This place has all the amenities of a convenience store and gas station plus two restaurants (including a 24 hour restaurant), a movie theatre (for truck drivers), health clinic, barber shop and Verizon store. This facility has very clean restrooms, including a family restroom. The gas station has regular unleaded, E-85, E-15 and diesel. The staff and management is very friendly!

Stopped in to grab a bite to eat at the Iron Skillet.As we were walking through the store I found some t-shirts that I wanted to purchase.We spent over$100 in this place for dinner and t-shirts.The store was nice and clean. It has a large variety of items.The most disappointing part was the attitude of the young lady at the cashier.She treated us as we were either criminals or had the plague. Sad how some people behave these days. I have a daughter older than that young lady and if my daughter was to treat paying customers like that we would have a big concern!I contributed to the young ladys salary so hopefully for that she is grateful to have her job during this pandemic.Unfortunately we will not stop again when in the area.

I dont know who did the Buffet today 4/8/21 but it was the WORSE ever. The food was cold and some of it dry, the potato soup was a YUCKY Brown over cooked or something.When our WONDERFUL waitress told the cook his reply was did they stir the food, thats NOT the Customer job. The peach cobber looked like the top crust wasnt baked like it should have been. We stop here every time we come through BUT you if dont do something about your RUDE REPLYING COOK we will just eat in the truck. The lady you have doing the Buffet was off today she is AMAZING the food is ALWAYS SO AMAZING. As I stated our waitress was WONDERFUL oh we sat up front I dont know her name but shes a sweetie and knows how to keep her Customers happy. The 3 star is because of the WONDERFUL Service we got..

This is, and has been, my favorite place to stop at! Everything is clean, and well maintained! I get my DOT physical done here every 2 years! The staff is always helpful, courteous, and very respectful! Out of all the Truck stops in America, this is the one I prefer to stop at over all others! Their shop is very good, they have a big selection of merchandise for us Truckers in their store! Like I said, its my number one place to stop at!!

Not only was their fuel 30 cents higher compared to the roadranger across the street (and every other major truckstop within 75 miles of this place), after paying that 30 cents more per gallon over 55 gallons which equals 15 dollars extra, I was denied a shower because I didn’t meet their 60 gallon quota. Never again. They don’t have any signs saying their prices so they are counting on you to either not notice or not care since you may be a company driver who doesn’t pay for their fuel. Either way this place is sketchy af. After reading other reviews, they are sometimes charging over 1 dollar more per gallon. Stay as far away as possible from this place.

Petro sets the standard for what truck stops should be. Clean, comfortable, amenities, and lots of parking.About 400 spots here. Oddly enough they dont have a Cat scale. They have another one thats certified.Typical food on the Fuel island, Iron Skillet, and a sports themed pizza, and Italian joint next to the store in the front. I got 3 pepperoni rolls, and a salad to go for 9 bucks.Im happy, and its good to see something different.Great stop.

Average petro but their hot food closing times are dumber than average. Hot food not serve after 4pm to go at fuel island hot case, and Iron skillet closes at 830pm... at a truck stop. I guess for all the short day truckers it works, but for those who actually work 14+ hours a day its an insult.This time I got parked early enough (7pm) but was told nothing fried and several other options were unavailable due to them already prepping to close.

Diesel fuel here is a dollar 1.25 more than any other place around it is a rip-off will never come here again. Their pumps also work like s***

Out of all the TA Petros that I drive to as a commercial truck driver this is the best one

You will always find free parking, a huge playground, clean toilets, a large assortment of food, drinks and car accessories. Great location, there is a hotel nearby

Very nice place! spent a weekend here, clean, lots of space.

This is one of the better Petros a person can hope to visit. Theres plenty to offer the professional driver and travelers. Everything is clean and maintained. These guys are consistent! Meaning since the place was built. Service here has been what one would expect. The employees are friendly, professional and go out of their way to make ones visit more comfortable. Prices are what youd expect from a truck stop.

The restaurant is one of the worst I have gone to of all TA/Petros. The wait staff is slow and lazy, getting a refill is next to impossible and I damned near walked out cause I was tired of waiting for my check. The restaurant Sucks. The rest of the entire truck stop is clean with friendly service.

This is a great place. I always stop when I travel. The restaurant has good food. The bathrooms are clean. They have a wonderful gift shop. Great for truckers and all other travelers.

Our family always stops here on our trips. Its an enjoyable place to browse and we often find souvenirs for friends and family here. The facility is clean and maintained well. This is way more than a gas & go.

The employees are a little grumpy but then if I had to put up with people like me for 8-10hrs a day, it is understandable. I will stop again many times in the future. It is a good place to stop any time. Although they could have a shuttle, because there parking lot is quite large. Thanks to all who work there.

93 octane better fuel and better price than across the the street

Great location very large truck parking lot. But does fill up at night. Large convenience store with just about everything. Clean restrooms, showers. Good sized movie theater for drivers with good movie titles available. Lots of food choices with a food court, and a iron skillet .

October 25th at approximately 4:15 after getting a lovely shower and haircut which the girls were fantastic. I decided to get a salad and a half gallon lemonade to go. The lady working the register seem to have a very poor attitude and we were inconvenience to her. Decided not to get it and let her put it away. For such a great stop one lady can really change a lot of things on how you feel. I will be back but if shes working I would not even go in there to get anything at the restaurant.Somebody ought to explain to her that there is a pandemic and working in the Foodservice she should have a mask on. Especially when its on the doors as you enter. This lady was really pathetic.

9/29/19 9:30am: Great parking overnight. Breakfast in Iron Skillet from the menu was great with very good service. I was especially impressed by the shower (#3). It was VERY clean and had kind of a retro 50s feel with good fixtures & design. Everything was in great condition and even the air intake vents were clean & new-looking in the shower room ceiling. Other store facilities including theater looked great too.

OMG! Lost my wallet, staff found me and returned it! BEST DAY EVER!

Was just looking forward to a sit down meal and they was closed at 8:30 only reason I came here!

The Petro in the corner of 38 & 39 is awesome. They have a very friendly staff that truly cares for customer service. They have a great buffet and salad bar. The menu also has many good choices that changes often enough to keep you interested.

Very clean, lots of parking, one of the better petros out there. Overall no complaints 👍

Stay away from the calzone bar 499 for a cup of soup. And got a whopping three spoonfuls. 13.00 bucks for 2 calzones and about 50 percent crust. Never again

Very good food. Great service. Barber shop knows how to do a high-and-tight for only $16. And gift shop has merchandise for every age. Candy shop has a fairly wide variety of confectionaries and Taffy. An all around classy stop for just about any need.

It’s a rare find

Very disappointed in service dept, had a oil change and service on our truck. The filter was not properly tightened so it started leaking down the road, could have easily caused a very expensive engine failure, but the worst thing was the mechanic broke a small air line fitting and did not say anything, was not a big enough leak to stop the brakes from working - but did interfere with the air dryer. Could have let the water build up and caused brake failure which could have been deadly!! Very disappointing experience!

The only reason they got that many stars was because our waitress was wonderful. This is the first time I have ever ate food off of the buffet and it was horrible. Everything was cold. I’ve never had this bad of experience with their food. Employees were nice. I didn’t get any offer of a discount after the manager was informed.

I visited this location about 2 weeks ago, I made a purchase in the truck store. The old woman with pink glasses and long hair was out of control. She was extremely rude, specifically she snatched my money out of my hand and proceeded to spray it with lysol spray in front of me, on my way out she muttered something about nasty truckers.

Plenty of fast food options available with shopping and other fast food options available. Excellent store and excellent buffet. Other truck stops and fast food options available nearby.

Waitress was excellent. Friendly and attentive. Food was served quickly and was great, fresh & hot. Best Iron Skillet we have been to so far.Salad bar was well tended to. Will be back.

Went in to get something to eat watching employees prepping fresh food wearing a mask under their chin not over their mouth or their nose I guess no one cares about spreading germs during a pandemic. Totally disgusting and inconsiderate for other peoples health

I decided to have there chicken fried steak here because I saw the picture looked good. It looked like it was over a week old when I got it. The batter on it was flat not crispy Like what the picture showed. Never coming back here not even to fuel

Clean and neat. Good stop for gadget toys for the grandboys. Try the chicken salad sub.

An everything stop. In particular, the fish, lentil soup, and kidney bean salad were spectacular. A wide variety of good wholesome food choices at a buffet bar. And try the jalapeno or bananas foster truffles.

We love this stop! The people are always friendly, the pizza is very good, and the showers are clean! We are on the road a lot and very seldom do we experience showers as clean as the ones at this Petro!

Perfect for RVs. Separate pump for RVS so you are not back by the trucks if you need diesel. Having a dump station was a plus.Breakfast was average, but for 8.50, not a big deal. It was fast.Today, 5/13/19 diesel was 3.059

They dont know how to make anything. When I received my order, I took one bite out of it and realized it was not made the way I asked. I told the waitress, and she acknowledged that yes, she noticed it was made wrong. So I sat there expecting her to take it back and fix it, but that never happened. So I paid for a meal which I didnt even eat. Tip of advice for everyone, stick to the buffet, at least you know what youre getting.P.S. As Ive been reading the other reviews, other people appear to have the same problem I had. Ordered the pastrami sandwich, and its not made correctly. So anyone reading this, do not order the seasonal pastrami sandwich, it will not be made correctly. Apparently the cook cant speak english, and doesnt know what the waitress is saying. And the waitress just delivers whatever that guy cooks to the customers, without a care in the world if its correct. This is lunacy. Ill be avoiding this place from now on.

The Iron Skillet is the best Ive been too. I fella who takes care of the salad bar is very persistent in keeping it clean and full. 5 stars to him alone. The wait staff friendly. The food was good. Hot and fresh.

3/26/17Ive seen my share of laundromats, in and out of truck stops and this by far has been the cleanest! Great job Petro for maintaining a clean, working laundry room with plenty of space.-- normal capacity washers/dryers are $1.50 per load. -- high capacity are $2.00 per load.

Had a veggie egg skillet. Was very good. Quick service, nice waitress. No complaints. Hot sauce was my addition 🌶️.

I never give a truck stop 5 star but Petro I gave them bcoz of their food and stuff. Btyful very understanding yang ladies. Please keep that up. Best in its class.

If filling up a diesel pickup truck using a debit card, you will need to either prepay and monitor to be certain that the excess prepayment is credited to your account or you will have to run your card two times, resulting in two receipts for the same fill-up. This is because the pumps will shut off before your tank is full. I wish ALL fuel stations would set their pumps with a limit that would allow for a complete fill-up before shutting off. This is annoying as Hell.

Paid $25 to have my GPS updated, now its not working correctly. Stopped back by a couple days later, they checked it out and said I would probably have to send it back to the manufacturer. Was working fine when I brought it in, just wanted to get it updated. Now, I guess I have to get a new one.

Wait staff very friendly. We forgot to mention a cheese allergy on the salad. Had a fresh chicken salad out to us in minutes. Clean bathrooms!!

This was a good place to stop. They have restrooms, a dining place, a convenience store, and more. We found the restrooms to be clean and cared for. The staff were also reasonably friendly.

TRUCKERS BEWARE!!! If youre needing your truck serviced (oil change etc.) watch them closely. They wont put fresh oil in. My husband was there last week for oil change. Showed him dipstick, black and sooty, tried to say it was fresh. After exchanging words, they agreed to put new oil in. HOWEVER. they put in what ended up being 10w30.type NOT the required oil . they knew exactly what they were doing. They tried messing with our way to make a living. They knew if left to run in the engine it could ruin it. They failed. The problem was caught by trustworthy mechanics we use a few miles later when troubles started. Watch them close drivers. Very close. That way of doing business and treating others will catch up to them.

The cashier at the store was rude and insulting

Would be nice if the waitress wouldve refilled my glass and wouldnt hurt to ask if I wanted dessert before laying my check down and walking away,very unfriendly staff, salad bar and buffet looked like it had been there for a week sloppy display what ever happen to good service

The showers are a tiny bit bigger than the other Petros that I’ve been to. I was extremely surprised when I noticed that the fan in the bathroom was dust free which tells me they actually clean here. The waitress at Iron Skillet wasn’t friendly at all to us but she was very friendly to a guy that appears to be a regular. Overall this truck stop is nice, I will not allow her service to knock off stars. I just knocked off her tip.

OMG. Italian deli in here serving all the favorites. Best calzone Ive ever had! And the sauce! And they had yummy truffles. But that calzone! I will go out of my way on my next loa through Illinois for another one of there calzone.

I go through here alot while Im towing from N.W. Il. to Aurora has free air by the gas pumps for small autos that pumps out up to 90 psi lots of amenities and food inside & the Stromboli is awesome

Excellent shower facilities, plenty of parking and speedy service inside the store. Many amenities.

Excellent buffet, food was fresh. TV playing football on CDL only side was nice. Shower was excellent and of course huge parking lot. Lanes were plowed at 4:30 when I got up to leave. My favorite stop in this area.

Many times we forget to thank those around us for good deeds, hard work, and caring about others. THANK YOU to Kathy at Petro who called us today with a concern that one of our drivers might be ill in his truck and wanted to make sure we had been in touch with him. We truly appreciate the phone call and in a world such as it is today, it is nice to know that there are folks who will go out of their way to help out a fellow human being!

The staff at this place act absolutely as if someone just interrupted 1 whole second of their very lives simply because they walked through the door. The atmosphere is VERY unwelcoming to put it nicely. The STENCH of air freshener, VAPE juice, or raw tobacco (truly indescribable) encountered upon entry is OVERPOWERING!!!!!! Avoid this truck stop if possible!

As usual Petros are always the best nothing bad to say about them

Waited to get oil change over an hour because they had a tire repair in one bay out of 5, the rest were empty but supposedly two mechanics. All bays have been empty now for 15 minutes growing tired of soso service.

Hub city never has any food available for drivers. So if your looking for something to eat. DONT STOP HERE.

The waitresses are friendly which is the only reason it gets a one star. The buffet was disgusting. The lasagna and beef and noodles were so overcooked it was like eating baby food. The baked chicken was dried out. The sausage, onion, and peppers were Ice cold. The French onion soup caught me off guard since it tasted more Italian than anything. There was so much oregeno and basil in it that I could taste nothing else. I tried this soup after eating the chicken and rice which was also gross. It tasted like chicken and rice water. The broth of the soup went milky when I disturbed the rice as the starch of the rice clouded the broth. Even though it went milky white it still had no taste. Will not eat here again and would suggest you not waste your money either. I talked to them about it and I got an I am sorry.

I absolutely loved this place had the worst day ever n i come here n my faith in humanity was reatored once again.Night staff amazing the mechanic fixed a lil problem took him 20 30 min and he said no charge amazing then went to get scaled and since the loader loaded us wrong did it like 3 times on the third time jason said 3rd ones free and we got it on the third! The staff was amazing.Shout out to Jason and the mechanic with a bald head and tattoo on his arm .Honest people makes me so happy hope this place is always popping with business n those guys are doing good.
