This is a great shop for people who knit, crochet, or do other yarn projects! The workers are friendly and knowledgeable, they have so many yarns to choose from, and they offer classes and kits! I took home a fun crochet gnome kit!
I absolutely love this store! I would totally recommend it to anyone even remotely interested in anything to do with yarn. Theres a massive variety of yarns to choose from organized in a sensible way. Many of the yarns are pricey but theyre so worth it- the most expensive are usually extremely high quality (incredibly soft natural fibers!) and locally produced. All of the staff are super friendly and readily answer questions. They will also make balls from the big loops that most of the yarns come in. I havent signed up for the classes yet but I will soon- they look like a lot of fun and there is still a lot I know I can learn from them! Theyve earned a lifelong customer and I will always love coming back for anything crochet I will ever need!
I took a private lesson from Lori Sheffield the owner. Shes very nice and helpful. She suggested a modification to the blanket pattern Id chosen which made it way easier. She gave me great ideas for yarn selection. I will take classes when I return from vacation.
I wish I could give more stars. There is a wide variety of different yarns and the owner is so nice. She pointed me to the type of yarn I needed and helped me pick out a bunch of colors. She also gave a free ball of yarn because it was my birthday. I can’t wait to go back.
I learned to knit at Skeins on Main and still consider it my LYS even though I have relocated. Great selection of yarns from both indie dyers and companies like Berroco and Shepherds Wool. The staff is friendly and the classes are informative and fun.
Great! Amazing! Helpful and great staff. If they dont have something you are looking for, they are more than happy to help find it for you. The classes are great; very helpful and reasonable.
Such a wonderful fiber arts store. They have a great selection and stay on top of trends. Knowledgable and skilled staff. The store has a very comfortable feeling. A table to sit at and converse with other customers. The owner is great. She is always willing to help and talk. My first job was in a fiber arts store back home so it is always fun to see other store. We love going to Skeins.
The owner is very rude. I am a young emerging knitter and wanted some help with how to pick up stitches along the first sweater I was knitting. Its okay to tell me I have to pay for a sit-in to ask questions, but what turned me away is that THE OWNER wouldnt let me sit with my mother that was taking a sock class and just knit my own sweater. I had to sit, with a wall dividing us, knitting across from the rude owner who put me there. That is how you turn away a young professional who could actually afford to shop here.
I have been a long time customer of Skeins on Main and love the great selection of yarns that they provide, along with a great staff and wonderful service. They carry a wide range of commercial yarns at various price points and also support indie dyers, with a special focus on those in Michigan.
Great local yarn shop with tons of selection and a very helpful staff. They have a lot of classes.
Great yarns and amazing staff
