I took my 636M mower in at closing on a Wednesday evening. It was leaking fluid near one of the back wheels. I also requested that the oil be changed, sharpen the blades and check the air filter. I have a small lawn service with about 40 clients and this is my only true commercial mower. I called Thursday afternoon and was told a part was in order. Called again Friday morning and the part had arrived. It was ready early that afternoon. I was able to finish my lawns on Friday with ease. Great service with a quick turnaround. I’ll be buying more products from these guys.

Talk about Team Work. Ive had buggies from other brands for decades. Think about brands that started with four-wheelers. They drove me crazy when they decided to need the service department, again, and again. Way more unreliable than I care to admit. So I decided to get a side-by-side with tractor roots! Once that decision was made, Clint in Rock Hill told me he had one at their Salisbury location. Wanting to make sure its what I thought I wanted, I drove there and met Dave. The XUV835R was better than expected in many ways. Dave let me take a spin in it, and literally within a few days, Clint had it equipped with my extras and ready for delivery. Thank you guys! This is my first John Deere!

We called to check on the warranty regarding the seat on our lawn tractor. The seat has a split on the side and is only 2years old, with less than 45 hrs. on and is kept inside when not in use.We were told we would have to bring the seat in and have it sent to John Deere for them to make the determination if it would be covered under warranty, because We are not John Deere. Huh? They sold as the mower as a representative of John Deere, and they happily took our money representing John Deere and their product, yet they arent willing to stand behind said product when there is an issue? That is very poor business and I would think twice before ever purchasing another product through. Jame River Equipment and possibly even another. John Deere product period.🔼🔼🔼UPDATE: I am pleased to report a manager named Ron called my husband shortly after my post. He and my husband spoke today and our issue was promptly resolved. James River is going to stand behind the warranty on our mower, without the extensive hassle and delay we were led to believe would be involved. We are very pleased and satisfied with the outcome.I do believe all employees dealing with customers should be fully cognizant they are representing their company and their reputation. The young lady my husband spoke with, may have not been fully aware of how to deal with the situation; in which case we wish she should have consulted with someone more familiar with warranty and replacement.Thank you Ron and James River. We truly appreciate your restoring our faith in you and great customer service.👍

This has to have been one of my most pleasant experiences making a purchase. Working with Clint Allsopp was like communicating with an old friend, and there was no doubt that he was totally honest with me, and that was just the way he does business.I will recommend Clint and James River to my friends, because I have no doubt that they will be treated well, and leave satisfied.As far as the JD HPX615 Gator, my only regret is that I hadnt done this so much sooner. Its awesome!!!

Very disappointedI ordered a very expensive part and picked it up then installed it to only find out that it had to be programmed which I was not told that and so I will have to pay them to come out to program it at another expensive cost. So no I have a $1600.00 part I can’t use and a no return if the box has been open that I wasn’t told about but how do you know if you don’t install the part lol so yeah not happy at all. 😒🙄

At first I was a little annoyed to be honest. They are difficult to get on the phone. Then I stopped in and realized that its because they are working with you personally. The level of customer service is very high. Youre greeted, and if theyre assisting someone else you will wait. And, when you are being assisted you are treated to the same uninterrupted attention. I purchased a push mower. A great next step is it was fully assembled, gassed and oiled when it was brought to my car. Then it was fully demonstrated. NO big box store cares about their customers like this. Another plus is at James River equipment they only sell high quality products.Big or little purchase you will be treated well.

Theres one thing about a company and thats to give good service and take care of the customers but then you have companies that try to take advantage of people that bought John lawn tractor from someone else instead they wanted to charge $1,200 to repair a lawn mower tractor that didnt cost $2,400 new less than a year old had problems with the deck got online after getting it back and found the parts to rebuild the whole deck include all three spindles blades pulleys and a deck belt all OEM parts for for $199 with free shipping beware of this company taking advantage of people it has not bought John Deere from them FYI it was bought at Lowes and they thought it was crazy for them to treat me like that I told him theres a place one day for an answer that they would have to give I hope this helps someone because I would never recommend this company to anyone !

I recently purchased a Z915E commercial mower from James River Equipment. Clint has been great to work with and honored the price we had talked about a couple months prior -- and even with 0% financing. Clint also personally delivered the mower to my home so I could mow before we went on vacation, instead of waiting for the delivery service. Overall a great experience and I wouldnt hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Thanks again!

Called to order a part. The guy(not Clint) was very short with me. I was told that it was an obsolete part. I asked if there were any substitute parts and was rudely told no. I hung up and ordered the same part from green parts store 5 minutes later.I expect that kind of service from a big box store, not from a place that specializes in JD parts.

I have purchased now a few pieces of John Deere equipment. I do love the brand but more importantly now I have a dealer of choice and a salesperson of choice. They are James River Equipment in Rock Hill coupled with Clint Allsopp. This Team is the perfect combination of experience and honesty. I do not have any issues when I email Clint on the fly needing equipment information and/or pricing. I get both back expeditiously and fairly. These guys should be the only Deere dealer out there since I feel so strongly about how I am treated there. I truly would invite anyone to give them a try, you will only be happy, just like I am.

I recently purchased a John Deere x370 Lawn Tractor with the dump- from-seat option from James River Equipment in Rock Hill, SC. Power steering and a hydraulic deck, coupled with all the extras that come with this 370 series tractor. How sweet it is! My old Hydro175 was very good to me for 29 years and Im sure it will keep on giving to the friend I gave it to. Clint handled my purchase from beginning to end and made sure that everything was in order before I picked up the unit. The James River team in Rock Hill was most helpful in my purchase and I look forward to many good experiences over the coming years. Im 70 years old now, so I suppose this new x370 will out last me! Lol

Over the past three years I’ve purchase a chain saw, push mower and just recently a riding mower. I could not be more pleased with James River here in Rock Hill. I feel I got the quality I paid for. Clint sold me the riding mower and he is most helpful, very courteous, and knowledgeable. A pleasant fellow to deal with. There was no pressure to make a sale. I like the fact that if I have any problems with my equipment, the local store can take care of it. This makes a huge difference needing equipment repaired or serviced than having to deal with a big box store like Sears, where I most regrettably purchased my last riding mower.

After shopping at other tractor dealerships in the area, we decided on James River Equipment. Their proximity to our farm was an important factor in our decision. We wanted a dealership that will help us keep our equipment maintained and their willingness to pick up our tractor at a reasonable rate saves us from having to worry about hauling it. We bought a new utility tractor last year & it was time for its first service. The new service manager Eddie was very knowledgeable & helpful. He told us about their winter special and saved us money. The young man Dylan that scheduled our pick up & delivery was very polite. Their delivery driver Ronnie was on time for both pick up & delivery. Our tractor was finished and returned within the promised time frame. They even did a warranty check while the tractor was there. Everyone was very friendly. We will be taking the rest of our John Deere & Stihl to this dealership from now on.

Weve got a lawn care business and the guys at JR Equipment have always taken good care of us. When John Deere customer service was dragging its feet in getting our still-under-warranty Zero turn mower fixed, Cole, the store manager, and Ron, the general manager, worked together to make something happen. Within 3 days they came up with a solution, fixed our machine, and got it back to us, after over a year of no action from John Deere. Also, there is a new service manager in the last month or so and I think things are moving faster, so give these guys a chance.

Purchased a John Deere 5075 in December, Cole and Clint did a great job in building up the unit to meet my needs to the tee. Shop crew was excellent in outfitting the tractor with a number of add-on accessories not commonly specified an a tractor of this size. Been using the unit every weekend since it was delivered. It has exceeded all my expectations. This is the second tractor I’ve purchased from Cole in the last 10 years. The responsive of Coles team made it any easy choice when I needed service on my John Deere 825i Gator. Sent a text to Cole on a Sunday and he had his team ready to meet me on Monday morning. Dylan was very helpful in documenting what service work was required and unloading the unit. Spoke with Eddie about additional service items before hitting the road back to Pickens. Could not ask for a better experience. We worth the drive.

Service department destroys any and all of the good work the sales rep and counter sales produce- to me, they were condescending, failed to call me back, still have my mower after nearly 3 weeks and haven’t responded to my email.... John Deere is a great product and when you need help- go anywhere but James River..

Worst experience. Bought a weedeater less than a year ago. It started messing up on me. I dropped it off to get repaired. Then it took them 4 weeks to even let me know anything. Then tried to charge me 125 dollars to fix it. I still had a 2 year warranty on it. I will never buy anything from them again.

I have requested quotes from this company several times over the years in person, over the phone and via email. I am yet to receive one. The last two times I complained about their poor service and was guaranteed they would get back with me which they have not. I bought John Deere equipment from another dealer as well as a utility tractor from a competitor. They give the company they represent a bad name.Their parts department has been helpful but sales is a joke. John Deere needs to correct this problem.

I am a new to the area but transplanting my landscape business. I went in to JR rock hill to see if about purchasing a new set of equipment for an additional crew. Although I didnt have an account I wondered the lot went inside and inquired on a few of the new machines talked to a outside rep about a quote never received anything back called 2x to speak with the rep and have heard nothing back.. Didnt get the helpful on top of things attitude from this place not the hometown tractor store you would think it is. Wont be earning my $.

Service department is subpar in maintenance work and always behind schedule. I was throwing at least one belt a cutting season. I took it to James river to check the pulleys and associated equipment. They found nothing. I took it home and continued using the mower. I had it serviced in April for this season and it was near 3 weeks before I got it back. They lost the paperwork and just left it sitting there until I finally called to check on it and then magically it was done first thing the next morning. According to the bill they checked the belt and pulleys, changed oil, filter, spark plug, checked hydraulics and fluid and all were fine. I took it home only to cut 30 mins before I broke another belt. This time I was able to find a pulley that had no bearings left. The pulley was riding the bolt shaft. It was not hard to find. I reported this to them and got no response from them like they didnt care and this was the norm. I dont recommend this location to anyone for maintenance on equipment.

These guys are awesome. do not buy a mower or tractor from anywhere else. let me tell you about my experence there. After weeks of searching online and in local mower shops, friday i was supposed to purchase a mower from somewhere else. i went there the guy had been messing around instead of getting my paperwork done. They were rude it was awful. i left sat morning with no mower. I i did the normal Lowes home depot thing but I have 2 acres and the zero turns they stock are not for hd use.i went to every tractor supply place I could find online to come up with a good mower for a good price finally made it to James river of rock hill these guys went above and beyond the normal boundaries of work. I showed up there at 11am they close at 1pm on sat i wasnt treated rudely no body rushed me. Coles knoledge of there product and there friendly attitudes to got us in our dream mower for a great price thank you guys so much yall rock these are the type of people you want to do business with. Ps I didnt have my truck and trailer on me. Needed the mower that day. You know what I got back there at 1:45 and another employee named Clint was there with my mower. waiting for me. Not only that he drove it on the trailer for me. Did your guys do that? Diddnt think so. Customer for life.

Bought zero turn in may...after wondering the mowers for 30 plus minutes, never was approached by anyone I went inside and asked about a mower, salesman never came out behind desk and mumbled something about, just back from vacation. I felt like I was interrupting his catch up plans. The mower I picked out serves my purpose but I would have rather had a up step in models.Anyway I was told I could pickup mower same day, but emphasized I MUST be there no later than 330 or I couldn’t get..I arrived back @ 230 mower not ready...another salesmen took over at that point, needless to say I never saw my original salesman, he stayed in office .They convinced me to take the mower out frontWhich was covered with dirt and dust, salesmen asked did he want me to squirt off...they re did paperwork so serial number would match..drove it on my trailer and adios..I had planned on purchasing Stihl product while there, but left and promptly went to another local stihl dealer and spent over a 1000.00 and they treated me like a real customer.This was my first zero turn, so no clue about it. Like I said James river employee drove it on trailer and adios, no nothing about operation at all.My salesmen believe his name starts with J, was about as friendly as road kill, the guy who took over his mess did a good job with what he had to deal with...PS the dealer who I purchased the stihl also took he time to go over the mower with me that I had purchased from James river 40minutes priorI’ll never return to this dealer ever

Over 45 days to fix an engine issue. Was threatened, and finally had $205 extorted in the end. Corporate condoned everything.Anybody that cares for 9 pages of documentation of what we had to go through with this store, Ill be glad to share it.
