I brought in my 09 Saab for a valve cover gasket, sway bar and links on front, also front pads and rotors. Since Im aware that they only use OM (original manufactured) parts their cost is fair in my eyes, as I dont believe aftermarket parts hold up as well. This is my second positive review and the fact that they tell you upon inspection the other things that should be fixed soon is also a plus in my eyes. Total bill was $995 when I expected it to be over a grand easily and I got my car back in a day and a half. I love Marks Auto you guys do amazing work and are a okay in my book. They were quick to work, communication and status updates were given without question!! Had a new Brake Booster put in my 2014 Chevy Malibu and it runs like a champ now. Prices were fair.

I took my crv to them to and explain I have a new born and I really need this fixed. Within an hour they had it diagnosed. The price was more than I was expecting and they offered financing. Spoke with the manager (mike) he said since I was a loyal customer he would give me a 10% discount with 12 months zero interest. I was so happy, when I got it back they told me my tire were low and a couple sensors needed programming. I asked how much and they said they did it for free because they wanted my vehicle to be safe for my daughter. Would I recommend hell yeah I would oh yeah dealership was double the quote they gave me. Good service isn’t cheap and cheap service usually isn’t good

Fast service and typical prices for area. I had over $2,000 of work done, including brake job. I asked for tires to be rotated. Got bill, they charged me $40 for rotation. I say something they willingly remove fee since it was no more work to put tires on in different order. I go out, check car, tires are on in same order I brought them in so they were going to charge me $40 for doing nothing. Makes me wonder if I really needed pads and rotors or other parts they claim or if they were just running up price.

My daughter brought her car in and I was nervous of her going by herself but she said a guy named Dallas was very nice and helpful. It’s nice to know you can comfortably send your daughter in a repair shop without being taken advantage of! Thanks Marks!

So my story with Marks.Im from out of town, broken down visiting our mother at the hospital and its 2:00pm on Friday right. Did I mention that I had just set up camp at rock cut state park and then went for our visit.The front left wheel bearing had blown out.Jeremy, says he will put it on the rack today.He calls me with the damage report, and says they are not open on Saturday but they will try to get me back on the road today.They stayed late and gotter done.Outstanding service department. Cant thank you enough.I own a HVAC service business and know the importance of professional service department. Called Marks with an hour left until closing as I was driving on the Interstate through town. The guy who answered was very nice and said that for safety reasons they would absolutely have someone look at it today although they couldnt promise it would be fixed. 10 mind later when I arrived they immediately pulled the car in to look at it. Even knowing that I will not be a long term customer, they still treated me as if I had been coming here forever. With as big as the garage is, my husband and I were pleasantly surprised surprised by their kindness. I would recommend this shop to anyone in the area. P.s. while waiting I saw that they will match any competitors estimate and the tore a they sell basically at cost. I wish I lived in the area because I would definitely be coming here for everything!

These guys wanted to charge me $2k for my transmission lines because they were so rusted to the parts u would have to replace the cooler and radiator. I told them no and ended up doing it with a buddy.. One little pinhole leak in a line at the clamp, lines came right off the radiator and the cooler (hardly rusted over at all) and the parts were $120. They will never have my business again and I will never recommend Marks Automotive to anyone, in fact I will gladly spread the word that ur company is dis honest,dis respectful, and a joke.

I had an emergency car breakdown on the highway - thankfully I was right by an exit, and found Marks Auto Service. They got me right in, the communication around the issue, the parts and timing was stellar. Pricing was very fair. Within a couple of hours I was on the road again. The waiting room was great to work on my laptop in as well, so it didnt feel like lost time. Highly recommend!

If you a are black person and you have a car warranty, please dont go there theywill break something in your car and they will tape it so you can drive it for one week or month so you can have the main problem

I am Jack Wilton, not Marlene. I started using Marks 5 years ago before I bought my 2002 Volvo. I stopped and asked their opinion about it and they were happy to give me some tips. Once bought, the service desk people could not have been nicer and more helpful. The people have changed but their approach has stayed the same. The only thing I have notice is that my major service issues have taken at least one additional return visit to get fully repaired. Minor thins, but still a pain. I will still recommend Marks, but I hate to see these return visits for them and me.

Literally just hung up on me twice after saying I had a 2006 Cadillac STS for no reason at all. I thought it was a mistake the first time then called back and got the exact same thing. If you dont work on Cadillacs or whatever the reason may be thats fine but to just hang up the phone without saying anything is very unprofessional.

I brought in my 2012 VW Jetta for repair on my cars spring and strut on the left side of the vehicle. It previously got worked on by another mechanic a few days before bringing it in to Marks. The previous mechanic ruined my cars ride and had to bring it in to Marks shop. There, they fixed the issue and replaced the axle as well. My cars ride has never been smoother and I was very satisfied with the price of the repair. I expected to pay over $500 for them to fix the previous mechanics poor work and the new axle but only payed $415 for everything. Highly recommend Marks Auto Service!

Ive taken two different vehicles to Marks over the years. Both times, Marks provided excellent service. Took a look and called with their diagnosis same-day. Made recommendations, didnt feel any pressure to get unnecessary services. Had my car back ASAP both times. Will definitely take my car back in the future.

We stopped for a bathroom break in Rockford on our way home to Champaign and noticed the car was making a strange noise. We took it to Mark’s and explained that we were on our way home from vacation and needed to pick up our twins from preschool, who we hadn’t seen the last several days while we were away. Alisha prioritized our repair to get us home in time to pick up our boys. The crew located a new alternator in town and has us back on the road within two hours. Took my car to Marks to have them check my Air Conditioner for a leak. Was taken home and picked up from the company shuttle service. That was awesome. All the staff were very nice, help full and answered all of my questions. Couldnt find the leak, I was explained to a reason why that could happen. they take their time with their customers, they are very trustworthy .....I had recently been had a bad experience with someone else, I will never go back to. They could have told me it was the air compressor, but they di...dnt. Thats how you keep customers, Ive told all my friends just how great and trustworthy they are. I recommend them 100%. They are the only place i will take my car to !!!! Once again thanks everybody !!!!!

My son brings his truck here regularly, general maintenance for his 1999 Tahoe.I can’t say the work they do is “BAD”But definitely over priced. For a simple 60$ piece, they charge 500 so install.We could do this ourselves, we just don’t have the “speciality tools” used for this kind of repair.I wouldn’t recommend Mark’s Auto to ANYONE because of the pricing.. it’s all wrong.

Too expensive. I came in for an oil change and they told me it would be 1,500 to get my ball joints and tie rods fixed. Went to my mechanic and he told me it would be 300. Total. Never would go again. Why would I put 1500 into a 2005?? Don’t go if you want fair prices

Excellent customer service on the phone .......but I took my 2009 Hyundai Sonata and my 2017 Chevy Impala in for an oil change, a couple weeks later both cars started hesitating when I leave from a stop signcheck the transmission fluid bone dry. I called they said maybe its just a coincidence but Ive never had that problem with either car before

Called in and they were able to get me in without an appointment on the Tuesday after a holiday weekend. They were able to fix the problem in a reasonable amount of time and money.

My battery was totally dead, they had to remove the wheel and part of the front area of the car to get to the battery to replace with a new one. Then sent a driver to my house to pick me up and bring me back to the shop. They got it finished in a few hours and my car was back in my drive by theend of the day. I so much will remember them in the future. Thanks Tad and everyone else who had a part in helping me out of an impossible situation.

Service here continues to be fantastic! On my latest visit, I dealt with Mike, who is professional, knowledgeable, & courteous.I love that at the end of the receipt it shows that they havent only inspected the rest of my car, but made note of their findings-- whats in good condition, as well as what needs work -- so that I have a much more comprehensive idea of the condition of my car. Most places I have been dont provide that level of service. I truly appreciate it, though, along with the excellent work they all put into my vehicle!Mike answered all of my questions and was very helpful. Also, it may be the cleanest auto shop I have ever seen!Still highly recommended!

Mike was great. Took my Jeep in due to Discount Tire cross threading a lug. While they had it asked him to check the shaking I had going on. Turned out to be the rear drive shaft. Took a few days to get the part due to the weekend. It drives great now. Clean shop and reasonably priced. Thanks for keeping me safe!

An oil change with AN APPOINTMENT took TWO HOURS. Such a waste of time and money. AVOID AT ALL COSTS . They also have the worst customer service. Can’t even call you back

Very happy with this business. We had a tire blow out on I-90 traveling home from a long trip. After struggling to locate a place who would help us out immediately we reached Marks Auto. They were ready to help us out as soon as we could get the car towed there. They replaced a tire and battery in about an hour. We were traveling with 2 young children so the ease of working with them and speedy service they provided was very appreciated.

My check engine light came on for a miss fire on cylinder 1. I called Mark’s at 5pm knowing they closed at 6pm and they said stop by and we will look at it. They came back and said they would have to run a diagnostic test on my car. Once they did the diagnostic test, they said everything was fine and it ended up being a old code. I asked Juan what do I owe you and he said don’t even worry about it. The short notice, speed of service and there customer service was excellent. I want to thank you for taking the time and looking at my car and to not charge me is appreciated. I think I found my new place where I will have my car serviced moving forward!

I went into Marks service last week and man they were AWESOME! I worked with MIKE INTRAVIA. Let me tell you, he is as good as the review on there say he is. He helped with my oil change and then advised me I need front brakes. He was so right. He told me everything else looked good at this point. I had my car towed here due to an electrical issue and also an unknown issue that was potentially related to the repair. The service writer( Alycia) told me I would need to drop it off and gave no expectation of how long it would be before my vehicle was seen but that it was would be “hours” if I waited. The car was towed there in an emergency after they had previously done and warranties the work they took in my car from the tow and after 5 hours they hadn’t even looked at it. The previous repair was an alternator they attempted to charge me $250 for a test that was not required. All told if you can avoid wasting your time by going somewhere else. Do so.

What a wonderful experience. This was my first time using Marks Auto Service. I would highly recommend this business to anyone needing a competent, informative and very efficient place to bring their vehicle. Pierre went above and beyond to keep me apprised of every step they were taking with my car to ensure I was okay with everything they did and he explained everything in great detail to me, which was helpful because I am not that car savvy. He was very patient and addressed all my questions and concerns. I will be utilizing Marks Auto Service anytime in the future that I need service done on my car. I arrived for my appointment at 9am. I wanted a second cost estimate. Told them my engine was overheating, oil pressure gauge was running very high, engine light and check gasket light had come on. Also, I needed a new battery. After waiting 45 minutes, I was informed that they wanted to run a diagnostic test for $120. I asked if they had checked the gaskets. Was told no, there are many gaskets, thats why they want to run the diagnostic. Now, as I said, I wanted a second cost estimate for an issue that had already been confirmed by another shop and the warning lights/gages on my vehicle. So, why charge an additional high fee when I told them EXACTLY what the issue is and no mention of battery condition? My best guess is to pad the bill so I declined. Drove directly back to original shop, F & F Tire World, and had gaskets & hoses repaired for $230 (no appointment) in 45 minutes. Also, they checked my battery WITHOUT an additional charge.Needless to say, I wont be back to Marks. Im staying with Josh at F & F World where they dont add additional charges.

Quality service with attention to detail. My car is running great and I’m backed up by a warranty on the repairs as well! Chris was a big help letting me know what services my car needed and kept me updated with how the repairs were going. Once my car was finished, he even went over everything that was done and how it would improve my car. Great service! Also did a alignment check as well after and I needed a front end alignment. Mike took very good care of me. First time coming here and had a heat shield scraping on the ground. They got me in much faster than expected and took it off for me and didnt charge. Every time I need to go to Marks Auto Service, I always request Mike S. He is very professional and knows what he is doing. I never feel like I need to stress when I put my car in his hands.Any time my car starts to have any trouble, he always goes above and beyond. When I needed my headlight replaced, he corrected an air tube so my engine wouldnt stall. Marks auto has always had great employees there, but my favorite is Mike! He seems to know a lot about mechanical issues and cars. He always seems confident when talking with me. I had a power steering issue that was really loud and hard to turn recently. Mike told me I needed a part and I also had to do an alignment on it as well. I always use them for all of my vehicles over the past few years and I recommend going here. They’re prompt and have good quality work. Last week my turn signal handle broke off on my way to a funeral and they were able to get me right in to fix it within the same day. I really appreciated that and I wanna thank Mike for checking on me after the work was completed.

Went to Marks Auto for a replacement tire after running over a nail. They didn’t have our tire in stock but Nate our mechanic called their other business in loves park and fortunately they had it there. He drove all the way there to pick it up and drove back and installed it for us. He was very helpful and everything was done in a timely matter! Great business and great employees!

Marks auto has a really nice GM named Mike I that I dealt with recently. He took care of me and didnt try to take advantage of a young lady like most shops seem to do around town. I will be continuing my car repairs and recommending everyone I know to come here for sure and if your lucky to try to deal with Mike

The staff at Marks are friendly, attentive, and care about their work and their customers. I have an older Ford with over 130,000 miles on it and bring it to Marks for oil changes. If something requires more extensive repairs, I wont hesitate to bring it there.

Mike S took great care of me when I went in. He made sure I was taken care of in every way, very professional and honest. One thing I hate the most is how you go somewhere to get something simple and they will try and sell you ANYTHING! The only reason I’m leaving one star is because I asked them to do one simple task which was to fix my cars leaking oil. They claimed I could possibly get it done in one day but it has to be viewed and inspected. Understandable, it’s a car. Well it was over $200 to inspect it, the machine used to look at my vehicle broke so I had to wait another day. Next day comes, they want me to replace my whole engine in my car which was quoted at 8500! I told them absolutely not, they offered financing and I declined. Then since I didn’t want the engine done they refused service on my car completely. Sorry I don’t have 8500 to just toss at a 2003 Range Rover. It’s not worth it.I did get it towed to a different mechanic who had a completely different view on what’s going on with my car and I’m saving thousands. Thank god.Don’t get me wrong, everyone needs to make a little money but holy cow, 8500 for something as simple as fixing a leak is insane. I just wanted to get to point A-B.

I went there for an estimate. My brakes were grinding. They estimated 833 dollars worth of parts and labor for it. For JUST that. It cost me 111 bucks for pads and rotors. Would have cost me about an addtl hundred for calipers. 500 dollars for labor? I waited for 20 mins for this estimate and they didnt even take my tires off to get a good look at the brakes. Taking advantage of a young woman with bad brakes with hopes of getting almost 1000 dollars with brakes, testing time and drive belts. Ridiculous.

They took my car in and it was like pulling teeth to get it looked,and they told me I needed over$14,000 to fix it. Thats a rediculious price for a 2006. PT CRUISER. I took it to Johns Auto and they treated me fairly and didnt try to rip me off
