For band items, its the best way to go!My favorite part of the store is the rent to own program! I highly recommended this to anyone who is starting out (adult or student!)For this program, you are given a selection of beginner models and you are able to pay off a part every month. After 30 months, its yours! Its a great program for anyone who wants an instrument and learn music! They also sell different things like music memorabilia, sheet music, guitar stuff, cleaning supplies for instruments, and percussion. The staff is great as well! Theyre trained and theyre able to answer any questions! They also do repairs!

Needed a simple restring on 2 guitars. Its 9a.m. There were 2 employees in the store. I was told that the guitar tech would not be till later so i had to drop them off. Then they said it take a couple of days remember now im in a music store thats slow and empty and between the two employees obviously nothing was going to get done. Fine.So the next day Saturday i called first thing then i was told that no one had gotten to it and the guitar tech was off on. The weekend. That means i most likely would not get my guitar back til monday possibly tuesday. Why would somebody (spencer) not tell me that? Right from the get go. Also when i did call the employee said well we have been slow so they put stuff to the side so i went down and got my guitars back. I will just go somewhere else. This was my visit here unimpressed. I find it funny that no one there could have strung them up since they were so slow.Avoid.

Hold on, this one is a doozy.I brought my guitar in for a simple restring and setup last Monday. I had brought the exact same guitar and exact same gauge strings in about six months or so prior and left without any issues and being an overall very satisfied customer. This time, however, was a complete 180. Now, I do run a weird gauge setup and have very heavy E, A, and D strings. But like I said, I had absolutely no issues the last time I brought my guitar in. I get my guitar back, get home, and start playing. Right off the bat, my guitar was way out of tune. I didn’t think much of it figuring the strings were probably still needing to stretch. I tried for a solid 30 minutes to get the guitar in tune and just could not get it. No matter what I did there were still a couple strings that just would not get to where they were supposed to be.I started playing some more and immediately noticed really bad fret buzz all over the neck. At this point I’m pretty annoyed because this has been a terrible job thus far. I then find that the action is so low that there’s virtually no space between the strings and the first fret. I tried playing some more but the guitar kept coming out of tune. The guitar has locking tuners and I noticed that all the strings are wound multiple times around the post and multiple strings not only had multiple winds, but the winds were overlapping and incredibly sloppy looking. Maybe it’s just me, but I’ve always been told that you don’t need to wind a string on a locking tuner. The strings weren’t wound around the posts the last time I had the restring and setup done.At this point I’m pretty upset by the quality of the work done. Just to cover all of my bases, I checked the intonation and boy howdy, it was off by a country mile on every single string. So I call to tell these guys what a mess my guitar is and that I’m quite upset with the workmanship performed. They tell me I need to speak with the tech. The tech calls me like an hour to an hour and a half later and I start explaining all of the issues I have with the guitar. I was respectful and courteous but this guy just wasn’t having it. He kept cutting me off and talking over me every time I tried to explain the issues. He really started getting loud when I told him the intonation was off. He basically called me a liar and told me to bring the guitar in so he could check it out and keep it for a day or two to make sure everything was good. With how disrespectful he was, I wasn’t having it. I was willing to let them correct their mistakes without a fuss but now I had had enough.I drove up there and simply told the employee that the work performed was atrocious and that the unpleasant phone call I had with the tech was the deal breaker. I told him at this time I just want my money back and that I would be taking my stuff elsewhere from now on. The employee refunded my money without question, so thank you for that, Spencer.I don’t know how long that tech has been working on guitars and I don’t know if he was having a bad day, but you can’t let stuff like that leave the shop. If I did work like that and let it leave, I would be embarrassed. Not only that, but you can’t be so disrespectful to your customers because you don’t believe what they’re saying. Get it together man, this place is gonna lose a lot of business if more people have to deal with what I did.

Working with Scott Ford is always a pleasure, as he is an utmost professional who is extremely product-knowledgeable and customer-oriented. I have ordered several thousands of dollars of drums and equipment, and if there is a problem on the manufacturer end, Scott handles it and makes sure it is right with the customer. What a terrific reason to buy from Guzzardos, and the rest of the helpful staff there. Signed, Bob, a long-time customer

Absolutely the best music shop in Rockford, Illinois and probably the Northern Illinois Region. Scott, Spencer, Arik and the rest of the salesmen will take care of your music needs. Ive been a customer of Guzzardo Music since 1974, theres plenty of reasons I keep going back, helpful sales staff, competitive price, service and support after the sale, and excellent repair service. Ive purchased drums and cymbals, tons of PA equipment, everything from raw speakers to empty cabinets to mixers/amps/outboard equipment. If they didnt have it in stock they would order it for me, no hassles, no extra charges for ordering a non-stocked item. At 62 Ive been to my share of music stores in Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois, I live in Beloit, theres plenty of reasons why I keep driving to Rockford to Guzzardo Music.

Came down to Rockford last night to play an hour and ten minute show at the BMO Harris Center before the Ice Hogs game. Since it wasnt a paid gig I packed light. Skipped the rolling snare case in light of my Tool Kit which carries the basics, stick case, lightweight tom legs, stick holder, tom holder (off a cymbal stand), two cymbal stands, throne, snare stand and high hat stand. For drums I took a 4 piece,. Bass drum, floor tom, rack tom, and of course snare. For cymbals: Ride,, high- hats, two crash cymbals. While setting up, I realized I was missing the high hat stem that holds the top high-hat and is the guts of the stand. Ninety miles from home and 45 minutes to showtime I zipped over to Guzzardo. The associate I spoke to on the phone was waiting and had three different pieces ready. After two misses we were down to the last piece in the store or I was going to have to buy a new HH stand, (For the record I have three). Sure nuff the third try netted us the correct piece and I was out the door and on time for our gig. Support these guys whenever you can, theyre incredibly nice and all of the people that work there from what I heard was that they are a co-op (they now own the store) are all musicians themselves and really seem to care. Thanks for being around and open to 6:00, you saved me from looking like an idiot. GREAT PEOPLE,

Great selection. An instrument for everyone. They have been around a long time. The quality of service is 2nd to none. I have been a customer here for about 45 years. They have the worst service of any music store Ive ever been to. Their store is literally a dank basement area and every time Ive gone there, the workers ignore me until I ask them for something, and even then, they just give me dirty looks as if Im wasting their time. Then, theyll treat me poorly if they dont have what I need, as if its my fault. One time I went to get reeds. I told them what type and how many, and they said, We only have three. When I asked if they could please check in the back or something, they gave me an attitude and told me to either get what they had or get something else. They only hold enough information about instruments to get you to buy their trash, similar to phone case vendors at the mall. They dont care at all about helping you find what you need; honestly I dont even know why they run a music store if they dont even care about their customers or their instruments. How anyone can give this place a 5-star rating is beyond me, unless they are literally people from the store, trying to make it seem good with their 4.5 star review average.

I bought a new Martin from here and gave detailed specs to setup for their “certified” guitar tech. The nut action was unplayable. No mention of blemishes on the neck and finish. Won’t return my texts now. Also told me they would ship it out on early dec 20th. Didn’t go out until end of day on December 22nd. I wouldn’t recommend anyone deal with them. I am now sitting on NEW unplayable Martin guitar that isn’t as described. I’m sorry but if their tech is a professional he could simply read feeler gauges. The nut action is .024 on one side and .010 on the other. ?? Have pictures to back all this up as well.

Well I always liked going to this store. And it was always helpful people in the drum department. And I wanted to make the switch from acoustic to electric (drums) which I obviously bought from gizzardos. And everything was cool until I learned that they had charged me for a roland td1kv while only giving me the td1k. Which no big deal right? Well I didnt get my mesh snare and its a pretty significant difference in price. Needless to say, I wont be back💔
