On my first visit to Family Vision Center - I decided to go because it is so close to where I live. I went in thinking I would get a quick exam - get a new prescription for my contacts and be on my way for another year. I was seen by Dr. Gauger. After a few minutes of her exam she asked me if anyone had ever spoken with me about my cataracts? I didnt even know I had them. She said I did and scheduled me an appointment with Dr. Darlington for the surgery. She could have easily just sold me some more contacts but she put my eyesight above all else. I am forever grateful and will be going to Family Vision Center and Dr. Gauger from now on for my yearly exams.

Dr. Curington is a really thorough doctor with great skills and an ability to discuss matters clearly. Jocelyn was terrific at helping me choose frames and lenses. She has good taste and helped choose good looking frames and she has a very positive and pleasant attitude which made the experience great!

I am so shocked by the high reviews. I had two very awkward calls while attempting to set up this appointment. The secretary just did not seem happy with her job. She was not rude, just unfriendly so I decided to keep the appointment. I then received an appointment reminder with a different appointment time. Needless to say I showed up early and the door was locked even though I arrived during their normal business hours. I stayed in my car an extra few minutes because I was early and eventually rechecked the door. I walked into an office with three very unfriendly staff faces. They stared at me like I was an alien. I decided to say good morning to them even though no one greeted me. I tried to break the ice by saying “silly me I must have not known how to use the door because it seemed locked a few minutes ago,” but they just stared at me like an uninvited guest. I felt really uncomfortable here and I have an outgoing personality so typically can get people to be social. The optometrist was unfortunately no different from the front desk staff. I was also taken aback by how outdated their equipment was and shocked they wanted to upsell eye dilation. I was expecting the advanced new eye image options along with a clean bill of a new prescription. I am in my mid thirties and have gone to the optometrist every year since my teens. I have never had an experience like this, the optometrist was telling me things about the health of my eyes to paint the picture I should be extremely concerned about my eye health in order to convince me to get dilated that day. The appointment felt unethical. To top it off she told me my vision had not changed but she wrote out my prescription incorrectly! They also had limited eyeglass options that were extremely overpriced! I highly do not recommend this place.

The staff is always friendly, helpful and patient. I can depend on staff to assist me with choosing frames that are not only great for vision but also flattering. The practice has a great selection of frames that are trendy and economical. I can’t leave with just one pair of glasses. I find myself getting either an extra pair or prescription shades each year. Lol! Dr. Currington is knowledgeable and concerned about eye health and general health. He and his assistants take time to provide much needed education to keep my eyes healthy. I ordered two pair of glasses. One was for seeing close and the other was for distance. The glasses for distance are not working for me so I have only been wearing the ones for seeing close. I didnt go back because of the pandemic and I eventually forgot that I needed to take them back.

Dr. Curington and staff were especially professional. Everyone was polite and helpful from scheduling our appointments to the check in and exam process. Jocelyn was extremely helpful with my son and I picking out our glasses prior to our exams. When we came out, she already had everything written up making the ordering process seem less. Dr Lusk and the staff at Family Vision Center in Rockledge are awesome! I had my first visit back in Sept 2018 and my second Oct 2020. The doctor and staff were very friendly and helpful during both visits. Even with this pandemic, it did not change their professionalism or care to make you feel comfortable and safe.

I just had an eye exam at the Merrit Island office. Everyone was so kind and professional. They are doing a fabulous job keeping everyone safe during the pandemic with their practices. Dr. Gauger took time to explain and educate me during the whole process. Jolene was AMAZING helping me pick out the perfect glasses. She took her time and offered recommendations and pros and cons of the different sizes and shapes of frames, as well as the different lenses. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend the Merritt Island office and staff! I LOVE my new glasses!

I have been a patient of Dr. Curington since he opened his office. I’ve always had pleasant service from all in the office. My eye care is very important to me and I do not plan to change doctors.

My eyes were checked stem to stern. Appointment was timely but with COVID precautions and staff courteous and friendly.

I got my first pair of prescription sunglasses from them. They were wonderful people. Very helpful and cheerful. Even baked us cookies! This place has many nice designer frames for a reasonable price. One woman, who’s name I don’t remember sorry, took my glasses which I had gotten at Walmart and polished the edges and really cleaned them up. They look fabulous and she just did it because she’s awesome. I love my new sunglasses. They’ve really made an impact on my day to day life. I enjoy the sun so much more and driving is much more comfortable and safe.

My husband and i went to get our glasses there after having and eye exam and my husband glass broke a couple month later and we went back and paid 40 dollar for insurance. To fix it. And a couple month later. He glasses broke again in the same area. My husband had to go with his prescription and get glasses from somewhere else so we dont have to pay the 40 dollar again .

Dr Gauger and her staff are kind, focused, and patient-centered. I know I’m getting the best care at their practice and am grateful for their honest work!

Dr. Curington is a talented and dedicated doctor. During my eye exam he found a potentially serious issue. He and his staff went out of their way to schedule me in for additional tests to help narrow down the problem. He even came up with options and sent recommendations for further testing to my primary care physician. I really appreciate him putting in the extra effort to do that. The staff likes cookies and donuts too!

Very thorough and staff is extremely nice

After I had ordered polarized sun glasses and Transition glasses (both tri-focals), it was obvious that the prescription was wrong. After another exam, I was assured it was correct. I wore those horrible glasses for about 1-1/2 years, having been convinced it was my imagination. After breaking the frame on my daily pair, I had to temporarily wear my old prescription. Suddenly I could see better! Not perfect, but far better than the new glasses. Im a senior living on a very small income. This cost me painfully, was a huge splurge, one Ill never be able to repeat and now those glasses are useless to me. I will never return.

I had a great experience with my eye exam. They took the time to explain everything to me about my vision. The possibility of getting glaucoma. I also like the eye glass styles they carry. I recommend this office for all your eye Care needs. *****

I love Family Vision. I started going a few years ago when my dog accidentally scratched my eye. The doctor stayed late and took care of the problem for me. I instantly became a patient and then got my husband and mother going too. The selection of eye glasses are great and Mary will do everything she can to make sure they are fitted to perfection. Dr Lusk and Dr Currington care a lot about the patients that they see and always take the time to answer questions.

About 2 years ago my mother, 89 years old at the time, came to visit from Maryland. She had an eye that was very red and droopy. I took her to Dr. Currington and she immediately fell in love with him. He was so kind and caring. He talked directly to her and explained everything he was doing and what he was prescribing for her eye infection. He did a follow up visit before she returned to Maryland and again treated her like a queen.Thank you Dr Currington
