I bought a used 2018 Volvo S60 from Volvo Cars Silver Spring, and Blair was my salesman. No hard sell, just courteous and informative discussions. The whole experience couldnt have gone smoother. I havent used their repair service yet, but based on other recent reviews, it appears their service quality is also very good.

This was our first experience with Volvo Specialists, although we had heard good recommendations (including one from an unrelated professional Volvo mechanic). We are very pleased with their work. Best technician ever, super smart, friendly, very fair pricing

I have been going to Volvo Specialists for about 9 years. They never disappoint, are always very reasonable and have never tried to sell me things I don’t need. They work on all makes, not just Volvo’s, like my Ram truck, 87 BMW, my Audi and, of course, my Volvo V70R. I’m very glad I found them!

Well, I am definitely in the Volvo Specialist Fan Club!!!, having been going to them since 2012. I actually look forward to visiting with them. I think the first time I showed-up, having driven my 2000 V40 down from Labrador (and a thousand miles of dirt roads) they found more dirt under the hood then had been seen in a decade of mostly urban passenger cars combined, they won my appreciation and respect with their we can handle it approach. And so nice to deal with human beings (and their great shop dog!) than with faceless mechanics working back of customer-relations front men.

I have 100% confidence that I will get honest diagnosis, excellent service and fair prices when I bring my cars to Volvo Specialists. Brad spent hours diagnosing a tricky, intermittent issue on my Honda because he didn’t want me to do an expensive repair if it wasn’t necessary.

Recently had my care into the shop and as always I received and excellent job and customer service. Volvo Specialist are very thorough with my cars inspection and repairs. They have been the most trustworthy group that I have met in the area since arriving here 4 years ago. None of the 3 vehicles I own are Volvos so dont let the name fool you. Recently, my 2005 BMW threw a P1515 error code and they diagnosed it as 2774 code, Power Control Relay/Engine CutOff Time. They also replaced the oil level sensor and the broken hood latch cable. The team is professional, trustworthy, and courteous. I trust them with my Expedition, BMW, and VW exclusively.

I have a 1990 VOLVO 240/DL (one of the best Volvos ever made!) and they keep her going, tuned, running like a champ. I would not trust just any Volvo dealer to treat my baby. Volvo specialists are real mechanics who understand the older models as well as the more recent.They have been treating my baby since the original owner bought her in 1990. One continuous record of amazing service!

Not only is the work top notch, the pricing is fair and the knowledge base is vast (I have a limited production Volvo R that has its quirks), but they often offer this knowledge freely and educate me on why/how, rather than just try to get me in to the shop so they can charge me. Subject matter expertise = $, and they have offered it to me free of charge on numerous occasions. And when they did charge me for work, it was more than fair compared to other local quotes (that were double usually) where I felt less comfortable with the shop knowing what they were talking about.

They have consistently done a great job of keeping my Volvo V70, 2008 running and in great shape. I completely trust their judgment and appreciate their commitment to quality work.

I bought a 1993 Volvo 240 wagon this year and Brad has been amazing in working with me to get her to a good place. He’s extremely passionate about older Volvo models and is wonderful to work with and talk to. I highly recommend their shop and I won’t go anywhere else in the DMV for service.

I had work done on my Vehicle here, Brads a decent mechanic, but that office Manager Larissa, shes a different story. I questioned her about a part that was being used and she got Snarky and Nasty with me about it, so I asked to speak with Brad, When he got on phone he immediately started defending her and making it seem like (I) was wrong for questioning his Technician and Demanding some Respect. One of the Bedrocks of a (GOOD) American business is, Customer Service Relations, Nobody wants to be disrespected especially when there paying a lot of money to get a work done...

Did good work on all-inclusive timing belt service for a better price than most. All of the staff is helpful, forthcoming, and willing to talk if you have persistent questions. Returned post-service to buy coolant, and Brad & his team supplied free coolant + cleaning solvent, tools, and tips for another job I was going to undertake myself. Have a hard time believing any negative reviews here are legitimate, because Brad & his team are the best folks I have ever met in this business.

I was given this business number by a patient of mine and the man that answered the phone was the biggest douche bag mother effer I have ever spoken to. He was absolutely NO HELP at all and was so incredibly rude. Do not use this service. He does not deserve your business. You can thank me later.

I just saw Jan Edwards rant here. It makes no sense. Of course we dont know what Jans circumstances are, so its hard to determine; I did find someone by that name with a legal occupation; lawyers, whats not to like?What I do know is that Brad and his team are extremely hard working and fair with their charges. They routinely put in more work and charge for less. Keeping older cars roadworthy is a passion. They dont just work on Volvos BTW, I take my Honda and Toyota there happily.Meanwhile Mr Edwards was misinformed by the cops. Yes, the cops are regularly called to this whole area. Theres a prominent government facility next door. Its right by Rockville Metro and the nearest cop shop is minutes away. Make your own assumptions here. These facilities are safe because the CCTV, large fences, alarm systems, dogs and cops are needed. Thats the reality of life in a suburban city today.

I tell all of my friends how wonderful this shop is! The crew at Volvo Specialists has been taking care of my 4 Volvos and my Chevrolet pickup for years now. They are always, courteous, timely, fairly priced and best of all they fix my cars right the first time. Again, I tell EVERYONE to go see them, you will not find this kind of dedication in the DMV.

If you enjoy being taken advantage of, throwing your money away, okay with horrendous business practices, incomplete repairs and easily intimidated (Larissa) this is the place for you. Go somewhere else for good solid reputable work.

Ive gone here a few times already and have really liked the service Ive received. They have given better quotes than the Darcars dealership and scandanavian import service center with a faster turn around time.

All i can say is I wish i took my 83 Volvo 242 to them first. I have owned many different make and models. But must say the people at volvo specialist are the nicest people i have ever delt with at any shop or dealership. I call them up on a Friday afternoon for the first time. Most shops will blow you off when i gets past 3pm. But they told me to come by and we will check the car out. They spent over an hour with me educating me on my make and model and help me trouble shoot some of my problems. I have a lot of respect for them helping me out knowing i am a student on a budget. They are a great shop and i will spread the word.

After many years of going from auto repair shop to another, I have confidence now with my automobiles being repaired by Volvo Specialists Inc..I had suggested by a friend to have them repair my then, Ford Taurus and Bronco II. After those cars were ready to replaced and based on my experiences with them, I looked no further but to buy a used Volvo s60 from them. I couldn’t be happier with my purchased vehicle and feel completely satisfied with the service/care my car may need.......Updated.......Ive come to regret every penny spent at this shop. I needed another vehicle and thought I could trust BK Automotive/Volvo Specialists with a vehicle that was available for sale on their lot, I couldnt have been more wrong. I ended up with a vehicle that was completely misrepresented as an unsalvaged clean car that had also passed Md Inspection and come to find out, the car had been salvaged twice. The 2nd salvage came while under their ownership of the vehicle (CarFax). Larissa lied about that. CarFax also gave me insight that they had already known of a faulty/failing A/C system since the issue was present while they had the vehicle before it was sold to me. The A/C system had been recharged a few times in a short period (clearly identifying a leak) .The car had supposedly passed MD Inspection. Within an extremely short period of time the parking brake system had to completely be assembled with new parts. I was told by BK Automotive the system was gone. I was charged about $1900 to fix the Parking Brake by BK Automotive as well as a new A/C Compressor.Within weeks of owning the car, I had to have it towed from Baltimore, Md, $160 to Volvo Specialist/BK Automotive and they seemingly didnt see fit to even offer to pay for the tow.b They kept the car and fixed it with USED coils but were so nice to put new spark plugs.The 2 remote keys that were given to me when I bought the car fell apart completely with little usage and the shop couldnt see it fit to replace them. Left with a working Valet key.I had the car MD inspected after their $1900 fix and it failed. The Motor mount and parking brake failed (which they had just repaired).This auto shop has been aware of the issues along the way but havent taken any effort to make it right.Buy ELSEWHERE!!!!!

BE CAREFUL - COPS INVOLVED MULTIPLE TIMES -I was fooled by the reviews, which I know believe are fake for several reasons. Theres a big sign on the store that pays people $25 to write a positive review of them. Secondly, the cops had to get involved for me to get the car back and they informed me that they have had multiple calls because of clients being verbally abused by the store manager as she tries to rip them off. The lady is aggressive and a crook and will scare you if you catch her attempting to rip you off. I caught her on multiple fronts and she was livid. Ill spare you the details as Im sure they are not necessary or relevant if you know that the store pays people for reviews, the owner is a crook and she is dangerous/aggressive to the point that cops know her and visit the shop to protect clients who complain about this same issue. Im even scared to post this but feel that I must do so to prevent others from falling into this trap.
