Just so you know, place your order at the end of the store, THEN go to the register to place the order. I saw someone wait for an order that was never being worked on.With that being said, I enjoyed the shop. It was a quaint little shop with a local diner feel. It can get crowded fast. I really loved the lox with the jalapeño bagel. It was GOOD. They also have an small outdoor dining area which I chose to sit at that was nice. Cant wait to try new sandwiches!

I have been frequenting Izes for over a decade and didnt write a review. I cant believe I let this one slip through the cracks.Depending on the day and time, it can be super packed with lines out the door. Some days, its easy breezy. Either way service is always good.Prices are reasonable.The bagels are delicious. Perfect chewy and the closest thing Ive tasted to New York. My GO-TO choices are the Veggie Supreme on toasted sesame. I then add avocado and sprouts. Or the Lox & Cream Cheese on toasted everything with sprouts.YUM!

I don’t remember asking them to burn my bagel. I understand it’s busy but there needs to be quality control.

What can I say 🤤 I got the everything bagel with lox. Hands down the best I’ve had thus far. The onion was perfectly sliced, cream cheese not too cheesy just the right amount of capers. I am beyond satisfied. Can’t wait to try something else!

Worst bagel I’ve ever had from here. How can you charge extra for lox spread and not even put hardly any on?

Really disappointed to see a sign on the doors stating that masks were required to enter the business, only to find about 10 - 13 teenage boys from Georgetown Prep in there and about 5 actually wearing their masks. Except for two boys with drinks and one just being served his bagel, who removed their masks. The rest either had them below their chins or removed them entirely, despite not having yet been served food or drink. Not one employee, manager, supervisor or the owner said anything to them. I love their food, but if they wont enforce the county regulations due to a world wide pandemic, then they dont care about my business. Just wait for the law suits.

Average bagel place minus one star for being consistently stingy with cream cheese. Like over the period of several years. Never, ever, ever been able to get extra cream cheese by just asking. Extra, double, more, nothing works. Every time I ask I end up opening the wrapped bagel and checking if they got it right and they never, ever have. So I take it back up to the counter.

I used to go to Bethesda Bagels often, but this place blows them out of the water. I get a bagel with lox, cream cheese, and all the toppings. It’s awesome.Also the other day I was there, I forgot 4 bagels I had bought, came back 15 min later to let them know I forgot em, and they apologized and gave me an extra one.. was most likely my fault anyway.Awesome customer service and great place!

Went in here for the first time today and I got The Angie and The Anna.Both sandwiches tasted GREAT!It was very busy when I got there and I made the mistake to ask one of the workers where I should place my order and he was a bit snippy. (There is a HUGE sign there that says Order Here) No one was at the sign so I asked. I just thought the attitude was not necessary.ASIDE from that I think this is a great place and I would go back.

My boyfriend and I get their bagel sandwiches every Saturday morning (It’s our ritual)! Best bagel sandwiches in town! It can get crazy inside so I recommend ordering ahead/online.

Meat is tasty. Potato salad amazing (I usually hate potato salad). But I got a double stuffed East side classic and I would HATE to see how much meat comes on the regular sized sandwich... got the first picture but was expecting something closer to the second picture...(different sandwich but stacked the same)Usually I come here for breakfast and am never disappointed but not sure what they think double stuffed means.

Amazing food and treats, such an awesome spot

Izes has been a staple in my family for years and the quality has NEVER wavered. The bagels are delicious: perfectly dense with a good chew, and plenty of seeds coating the exterior (if you like that sort of thing). And not to mention the best lox spread with actual chunks of lox folded into the cream cheese! In short, Izes is reminiscent of old school Jewish delis that once upon a time were plentiful in the DMV.

Food bland ate here twice, fast service but the food aint that flavourful, had the Ruben sandwich and bacon egg and cheese bagley. Oreo Brownie was great though.

My wife and I stopped by here as the first place for breakfast after we moved down here from NY....how NY of us stopping at a bagel deli right?Well I was impressed! The employees were super sweet, and the steak and egg bagel sandwich was phenomenal (with a garlic bagel). The prices were also VERY reasonable and much less than we would have thought.The only reason I wouldnt call this place 5 stars is that the seating wasnt particularly comfortable, and the coffee came out hot enough to burn your face off. Its not really a place I would sit down and work on my laptop, drink a bunch of coffee, and relax. Its more of a place that you swing by for an awesome bagel sandwich and head to wherever youre going to eat it.

Good homey bagel place with lox, whitefish salad and a variety of bagels. Egg and salt bagels run out quick so call ahead if theyre your faves.

Cannot possibly say enough nice things about the people and food at Izes! Called literally at the last minute (same day!) to accommodate a private meal after a funeral service and they not only showed up two hours later but with beautiful and yummy trays of food. No other local deli was willing to do that. Izes is absolutely my go-to from now on.

Delicious bagels and sandwiches for a more than fair price point; the cashier woman is, however, incredibly cold and standoffish. We have been on more than one occasion and always receive the same treatment. The other staff have generally been great. So come here for the nosh, but not for the friendliness.

They take your order before you pay, so the food gets made fast and the staff are friendly and efficient. They have multiple coffee machines with cocoa and cappuccino, the servings are large and food is delicious.

Ordered online. Called for curbside pickup when I arrived and phone went to voicemail. Walked in and the scene was a little chaotic. Bagels are decent, but your mileage may vary depending on time of day.

Excellent bagels, challah French toast was delicious, amazing small local bakery selection (macaroons were giant!) and prices are good for what you get. Cream cheese is just ok, nothing better than the store. Agree with others that the cashier is a bit unfriendly.

A little gem of a Bagelry in Rockville. Ate a steak, egg, cheese sautéed onions and tomato breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel. It was awesome! Bagels are really good.

Favorite breakfast spot when Im short on time. Best described as a family run hole in the wall joint, the fanciest thing in the place is their flat screen TV. Straightforward food for a reasonable price, especially when compared to the rest of Rockville. Omelet platters are HUGE, can either be split with one other person or fuel you for the entire day.

Good, real bagels. The line is quick even if its long (which is not often). Always enough parking. Even the whole wheat bagels are well made. Staff is friendly. A bit cramped for eat in, but fantastic for take out.

They had disinfecting wipes in stock, that was my primary reason for going! Grabbed a club 21 bagel sandwich to go. It was okay, the bacon was a bit charred for my taste. Staff was pleasant and I appreciate they held some wipes for me behind the counter.

Best bagels Ive ever had. Lots of different options available on the menu. Seating can be a little tight and the line can get long, but it moves pretty quickly. You definitely have to try this place at least once.

As bagel delis go, this is ones really good. I had a tuna salad melt with provolone on a poppy bagel. My girlfriend had the World Famous Chicken salad sandwich on plain. They were both delicious sandwiches and Id be happy to go back.

The bagels are the best weve found! We come back regularly for the breakfast sandwiches or just a bagel with cream cheese. Preferably scallion cream cheese! The jalapeno bagel also can have quite a bite, so be warned!

Best bagels! The pastries arent the best though.The bagels are so soft and lovely. Great place for an eg/breakfast bagel. Coffee is decent and there is a decent variety of available drinks in the cooler. The staff arent super friendly but are fast and competent.

Best if youre a regular here, but I went at an off time and got standard service. The person who took and made my order was helpful and very nice, even remembering to get pickles for my sandwiches. Food was good and order correct.

Service was fast and courteous. The selection is amazing! I got your steak and eggs in an onion bagel. Legit felt like I was in NYC. The location is good and parking is free. The only thing is best to get the food to go. Thats if you go there when its busy. Yeah Saturday morning of course. Ill be going back for sure! So many more things I want to try.

Izes Deli and Bagelry is a great place to get fresh bagels or high quality lunch items. I stopped by for a Reuben for lunch and was impressed. They served it on a pumpernickel bagel which I found to be unique but good. The sauerkraut was excellent as was the corned beef. Staff was attentive and courteous.Prices are good. Reuben was a bit over $8.They also make a very good pizza bagel which is a bagel cut in half with pizza toppings on it. Thats a bit over $4 but a smaller portion size than the Reuben.

Have gone here probably over a hundred times and never disappoints. Thank you Izes for the best bagels!!! Love the family that owns the business and people who work here...always recognize customers and are so friendly. Highly recommend the bacon egg and cheese on everything for breakfast and 21 club for lunch. You wont be disappointed

Came by here the day after Thanksgiving. Ordered a sausage, egg, and cheese bagel along with a side of hash browns. The bagel was delicious and the eggs were fresh. The sausage wasnt massive but was crispy around the edges which gave it a nice texture. The hash browns were typical diner fare: crispy fried potatoes.I also got a cup of coffee which was your typical diner-style coffee. Smooth, non-nonsense flavor that is the comfort coffee of America.There was a short line that moved quickly. The seating indoors was a bit cozy; it didnt bother me but others are more particular about their dining accommodations. There is also outdoor seating when the weather is nice.Overall, this is a great local place to grab breakfast. They have lunch sandwiches as well but I didnt get a chance to try one.

I enjoyed the very personal feel of the place. I had a chicken salad sandwich with L,T, O. It was delicious with roasted chicken loaded up with spices and veggies. I found it very homey and warm. Pretty cost effective too! Great for a quick lunch or a longer one with colleagues.

Cozy place for some real food and relaxed atmosphere. Its like one of those hidden away places that you want to keep to yourself but you also cant help but suggest it to friends when youre deciding on a place to go eat. Quality food, nice pricing, good parking.

Good sandwiches and bagels - we will definitely be going back. Nice selection of deli meats and breakfast all day. Sandwich execution could have been a bit better, but maybe it was just for the one that I ordered (The Chutzpah). Could be a bit more organized for ordering and payment.

Good place to stop and grab breakfast. The staff were very friendly and I felt welcomed to the establishment. I had the cheese please breakfast sandwich and it was very good, the other people I was with were also satisfied with their food. I will probably return again if I am in the area.

We went there for the first time today, about 1.30 pm. The place was jam packed full and a line at the door. Our bagels were absolutely delicious. We come down the ‘Kevin’ and the ‘Angie’I could only eat half mine so I have double joy tomorrow.Worth the wait!

Best bagels in Maryland, very close to NYC quality. Crunchy outside and chewy inside. Staff is awesome, be prepared for a line on the weekends in the morning cause those that know, know.

Love Izes. Classic weekend staple. Only criticism is they could stand to modernize their customer checkout process. Its redundant to say your order twice-- tell your order to the computer, have a ticket print out the the kitchen or go to a screen in the kitchen and let the kitchen staff focus on solely on preparing the food. This will cut down on labor costs, space inside store and repetitive ordering.
