I had a small order, but it required some tricky analysis. Rod spend all the time I needed (a lot!), and gave spot-on advice, including sending me to a specific other vendor for some of what I needed. Ive not yet received my order (just placed it today), but the quality of the service, and the quality of the advice were second to none. Very impressive.

Everything about this place was great. They had a better price on the product I needed, attention (online chat) was great and polite and shipping was on time and well packaged. Would buy with them again for sure!

Only two places on the internet claimed to have the part I needed. I was familiar with neither of them. One of them had some of the worst reviews I have ever seen. The other was Vela. Easy choice. I called Vela to verify that they had the part. They did and I ordered it. It was at my house three days later and $40 cheaper than their sketchy competition. I will be telling my sailing friends. I appreciate their care for their customers and wanting to ensure that they provide great customer service and products.I would have put 2 stars but I want to support the community. Poor communication on orders. Dont pay for expedited shipping as it wont go out in a timely manner or with any delays being communicated. Rigging is fairly priced, but cores are all slipping on arrival.

Same day Great Service. Rod and his crew took great Care of me. I busted several of my sail slugs on on my Hunter 27 after an accidental Jibe. The sewed new one on the same day. Great communication. service and follow through.

I made a purchase for a set of winches online and chose Vela Sailing based on reviews that others have left. I have never bought from this site before and Rod talked to me like an old friend when I called in to see if they had the winches in stock. His input on what I originally wanted saved me from making a costly mistake and set me up with the proper gear. I had a great experience doing business with Velasailingsupply. I wasnt able to find a better price for what i was looking for anywhere else online. The best part was NO TAX and FREE SHIPPING to HAWAII !!! I received my order from the manufacturer the same week I placed it. Ill be back for more.

I orders some parts that were In stock on their website. I received an email that they were in fact not in stock but had a identical part by a different manufacturer, it went to spam, and then a few days later they sent another email. If I didnt answer the first email why didnt you call me? While I am on the phone I find out that ANOTHER one of my items was also not In Stock but a special order item, and that despite me placing an order 5 business days earlier still had not actually ordered the item so that I could get it. So not only did they delay my order by a week by not calling me but it would take another week at least just for them to order my item then ship it out to me, for an item that was In Stock. Mistakes happen, but three times in a row? This is the third time I have ordered from them and they did not have an In Stock item. I will take my business elsewhere.

I am not happy with the way they let me down with my reclamation. exactly nothing happens . :-( .... Now there is something going on. I sent a video which shows the disfunction of the Block and i sent the block to vela. What do i have? nothing, exept a nice communication with rob.I think if an item ist obviously defective and no misuse ist possible as in this case, it should not last weeks and months to replace it. And it is still not done.AT THE VERY END after a long long time the case was ended properly. I got my reclamation accepted and the defective part replaced.
