Always a top notch store! Helpful employees, decent prices on clothes, clean store. Cant ask for much more

I usually have a good experience here but today was rough. I needed to run in quick and get volleyball knee pads for my daughter and a camping chair. None of the volleyball knee pads had retails on the peg hooks, then I asked for the location of the camping chairs and was snapped at that the associate was helping someone else even though he was taking them to the same place. Lastly the camping chair was in a bin with several other identical ones labelled $19.99 and rang at $29.99. Instead of an adjustment I was told to take it or leave it so I left it.

Bulldoze it over and start again with a different sporting goods store. The employees: are they required to be ignorant about the products and services in the store? Is it the management? Do they not know how to manage a store? Or does it go all the way to the top? Does Academy just have stores that suck. There were 20 people in line and 2 cash registers open. There was watered down dawn dish soap as hand soap in the bathroom. We had a return and we had to go stand in the cash register line when the customer service desk was open.. no wait. Whats the customer service desk for if they dont do exchanges and returns? The guy at the cash register had an attitude that he had to do an exchange. This isnt the first time Academy has let us down. This store always has a terrible line and Employees with attitudes. Their products and selection are great. But thats it.

Needed a duffle bag for travels. Only place I could find a decent one.

Associate in bicycle department offered helpful advice without being pushy.

Great place for all kinds of sports equipment. Would have liked to see a little more of the staff walking around. We needed some help with finding some shoes, but could not find anyone around. We eventually found what we needed. Great place if you know what you are looking for.

Academy Sports is a great place to grab a few last minute camping supplies and gear. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and their pricing is always fair. We highly recommend this store for any of your outdoor needs 👍👍

My husband and I went there yesterday. There’s a Caucasian old man that greets people at the entrance, he greeted the nice white lady in front of us with a huge smile I swear you could see his dentures, as soon as he saw us, he looked us up and down, gave us a look of disgust and turned his head away and then proceeded to greet the white person behind us like the first. I watched from afar for a few seconds and he treated this Hispanic boy walking in the same way he did us. The clear disgust he had with us simply because we were Hispanic was appalling and really sets a tone when entering the store. I can’t imagine how insufferable he must be to the other Hispanic employees.

Love going into these type of stores. Found all kinds of goodies I wasnt even looking for. I will have to come back and get what I didnt get this time around. Love how they have a selection of so many different types of things from shoes to camping gear, to fishing and everything in between. Got some great shirts, a sun hat, and some shoes. Cant wait to come back.

Awful excuse for a sporting goods store. The organization and quality just keeps getting worse. I found 4 shoes all different sizes. After checking every box on the isle including the display shoe and having an employee help me there was not a single match. The only size 5 pair of cleats we found were returned with grass stains already on them so I didn’t have much of a choice besides shop elsewhere. Driving to another location or different store is your best chance at finding what your looking for.

I went to four stores Bass pro being one of them academy was the only place I found a ground blind big hi-5 to academy

I went in and was so happy to see guns and ammo and let me tell you, Lee was an absolute delight to deal with when purchasing a gun. If you ever find yourself looking to purchase one, go find Lee at academy on Pleasant Grove. Great store great employee!

Just fell in love with this store. My new favorite. Got a great deal on Columbia shoes. Got a nifty pair of shades, and a couple of caps. Will be coming in very soon.Tammy helped a bunch and made decisions EASY.Nice overall selection and great pricing.

My first time in that store and while i was empressed with some of the employees, we went to look at the guns and they had a new employee that since he was new he was very friendly!! There was a man that was behind the counter setting down and we were there looking for a while, the new guy come walking back where the guns were and asked if he could help and we asked about looking at the guns out of the case he explained he was new and couldnt do that yet, but said let me get my team leader to help you with that! He walked down to where the guy was sitting and talked to him and he hot up and came down where we were and just acted like we were a major inconvenience to him!!!! And kept telling us to go look at the pepper spray! Needlessly to say, we didnt buy a gun nor the pepper spray!!! Bought an outfit for my little granddaughter! A $17.00 dollar purchase over a 400.00- 600.00 dollar purchase!!!

I already knew what I was going to purchase coming into the store... waiting in line and I overheard the cashier with a customer before me just speak how positive you have to be working a regular 9-5 job and I could never have related so much! With my “jobs” handling in customer service and not breaking your smile is a hard job for a great customer experience. I just had to let her know that she is inspiring and helps those in the customer service industry know we deal with a lot and that we’re human too! Thank youI believe her name was Susie I couldn’t see her name tag very well. But she definitely gave me a great reminder👍🏼

Store looked light on inventory. No cart wipes or soap in bathrooms. Had toddler with me ... Not a covid issue so much as just overall ability to clean hands, carts, etc in general.

Just went into Academy to return an item. Stood in line for 10mins. at the customer service desk and then they tell me I have to go get in a different line that literally stretches all the way to the back of the store. Everyone in that line is waiting to purchase an item. This is ridiculous! This store is always dysfunctional, understaffed, and apparently the leadership doesn’t care! I spend so much money with this store and honestly I’m sick of how things are being ran. Somebody from corporate needs to take action and get this store together.

Was trying to buy a bike for my son, when i found a employee he seemed kinda bothered that I even spoke to him. I told him I needed assistance with a bike and he said hed tell someone and they would be right over. I said thank-you and he just walked off saying nothing.. Waited half an hour and no one ever showed up. I dont think he even told anyone I needed assistance. I eventually got the bike down myself. I work retail myself and would never treat a customer that way.

Academy is my go to place for shoes. They have a great selection.

Razorback hats and visors have prices under them that indicate the prices are five to $15 lower than the price thats actually on the hat or visor. I paid my $27 bill with $100 bill and change. The young lady counted out my change and then said your change is $73.00 and handed me a ten and three ones, noticed the $60 mistake and she was obviously embarrassed and it was obviously a mistake maybe she learned a lesson. I used to work at academy and their pricing was almost always correct on the products. But on the razorback hats theres a shelf that the pricing is not correct on probably 80% of the items. Also youre gouging on the price of your ammo over the price at Walmart and some other places even Bass pro or sell some for less.

Really enjoy this particular store. Associates are around and helpful and knowledgeable, they seem to enjoy working there which makes the experience shopping there good. I can get quality gear, clothing and footwear at good prices. They dont always have exactly what i want but they will have something close to it.

Put in an order for in store pick up 10 minutes before picking up and they some how had the order ready to go in such a short amount of time! I was in and out just like I had hoped for! Great service 👍

I have historically left high ratings for places I visit. I have shopped at academy sports several times in the past and have been very happy. This Academy was terrible. I know times are tough for good in stock at most stores and this store is very low on inventory. I walked in and greeted the person at the door. After making eye contact, he blatantly ignored me. He was also wearing a Walmart branded mask.... I needed to use the restroom and it was a disaster. Management needs to step it up!!!

I don’t have any complaints. The store is like a sport fanatic’s dream. Academy has everything you could look for in an activity, game, or clothing. I love the style of decor and how it doesn’t feel like a bland open facility. The interior feels like adventure yet taken or bought. With every purchase means there will be memories that follow that item. Academy is the place you want to go when in need of sports or outdoor items.

It took me a year to get my Husband to go to see if he could find a pair of shoes. We did 60.00 later. A little pricey but worth it.

All the sports including frisbee golf. Great quality backpacks for school as well

I asked 2 different young people for assistance and both told me that they are off the clock. I then went to customer service and told a young person what had happened and that I need assistance and he said that he doesnt have a walkie talkie and he cant call anyone. All I saw working there were a bunch of young kids who probably have not been taught much about being professional. More than likely the fault of the companys training. I will not be back to this location.

Loved what I ordered. BUT I used the curbside delivery and when the employee brought my bag out, she had her mask down around her neck and before she handed us our bag, She sneezed all over it and didnt bother to apologize.

Always out of stock of everything. Always go hoping academy has it and they are always running so many out of stocks.

They are in limited supply of a lot of summer items. Im sure its not their fault. They are probably having the same issues getting product as the rest of us.

I went there with a friend, she was exchanging some clothes. I have never seen such a disorganized place. Pretty sure that what should have only taken a few minutes took 30. The staff spent more time goofing off and seemingly could have cared less about customer service. Im convinced that Ill be buying my sporting goods elsewhere.

This place is New York Prices without the accent. Name brand items, some good quality some not so...but they will charge you dearly for it. When a Nike Sweat Shirt and Pant costs you 100 dollars I would hope to find gold thread in the stiching. Staff is a toss up on who you end up dealing with. There are some friendly folks but also some no so people friendly. Parking is great, access to store is easy, keeping money in your bank account not so much.This store has everything or almost everything you need for any sporting activity you can think of. From dance to Football, hiking to in home yoga, its your 1 stop sports shop.Really its a great store, just be prepared to spend some cash.

This store is the best! Never had an issue or problem. Staff is very polite and good at helping customers, especially in the shoe and sports department. I’ve recently bought some shoes for my wife and a soccer ball for my child and they both loved it! It was a good shopping day with my daughter, we found some of the things that we needed.

0 stars is more fitting after my visit to the Rogers location yesterday. I have spent my very last dollar at this location! The terrible experience began as my wife and I entered the store and was met by a rude lady who tried to intimidate us for not wearing a mask. I told her I didn’t wear one and she then proceeded to try her intimidation on my wife. We just continued walking toward sporting goods. They had 2 checkers and a line of customers that stretched almost to the back of the store. I decided I wasn’t going to wait that long and went back to the front. I told the floor manager about how rude her associate was in the front and we hadn’t ever been treated that way on our previous visits. As I was walking out the door, I told the front associate that we wouldn’t be back because of the way she treated us. She then began her intimidating again and the floor manager then appeared and accused us of harassing her employee.I’ve worked in retail most of my life and was trained to diffuse volatile situations instead of inciting them more.We will never go back to the Academy location in Rogers Arkansas ever again. Not that they care!!

I have visited this Academy since they opened since I live just a few minutes away. They used to be my first choice in outdoor stores, but since Bass Pro took over the Cabelas, they have struggled to keep up with the variety. Specifically their shoe section, though expansive and a greater selection than Bass Pro, they are always out of the popular mens sizes. I have had to either settle for a different boot/shoe, or go somewhere else. There always seems to be plenty of 8,9 and 10s, but 11 is never in stock. This visit was a but disappointing in the gun department. They didnt have any shotgun soft cases and very few rifle cases. I ended up going to Bass Pro to buy two. They also didnt have any muzzleloader supplies to speak of. They had a very small selection of 50 cal but no 45 cal sabots. Had to get those at Bass Pro too. The store seemed out of stock as I walked though when they are usually pretty good. The 4 stars is really about this visit and the constant shoe size problem, and of stocks.

I walked the entire store looking for something and it was back towards the front in a section labeled for something else. This was our third time visiting and each time has been equally disappointing.

They dont stand behind what they sell. We bought a product that broke within days and they will not do the honorable thing and refund us our money. We will never shop here again if they make you keep defective products and dont help. Sad customer service.
