Motor City Meats, which is African American owned, social is a soul food restaurant as far as a meat store. The service was excellent oh, I was a little shocked because people carrying out the services oh, they were polite and friendly and show great hospitality. I had the have barbecue rib slab dinner with collard greens and sweet potatoes, sweet potatoes where excellent oh, the collard greens were seasoned very well just a pinch more salt than I like, the ribs works great and the barbecue sauce was even better. I gave the restaurant a five-star because everything was in order oh, they said 10 to 15 minutes for the order to be prepared, and it was exactly that 14 minutes to be exact. The young brothers and sisters it got it goin on, whoever the owners are job well done. I have been so many places in my lifetime were dumb people I just not in control meaning they are not professional in any way shape or form, and its more like they really dont want to be there. These young people were totally different, totally professional and about their business. I will go there again. PS if I didnt say this was my first time going to that particular restaurant, and I was totally satisfied with the quality of the food as well as the prices of the food, to reiterate excellent service. The pulled pork and mac and cheese are delicious! Desserts look good but left a lot to be desired. Call before you pick up. Usually wait is around 25 or 30 minutes. Fresh n hot. No dine in.

I am very disappointed in my meal. First i called to make sure my order was right because i ordered through door dash it didnt allow me to add the sides i wanted. When my order came it had the wings no sides. Well just wasted money on door dash because i had to go pickup my sides. My daughter ordered a shrimp dinner no cocktail sause no cornbread and the shrimp wasnt done. My chicken wings were salty and the yams looked like doo had too much nutmeg. The mac and cheese was edible but we paid 50 bucks for some food that tasted like the owners took no pride in making.You try to support black business but not if they dont care. 😩

The rib tips are pretty good most of the time. But I love the gristle and most of the time I get mostly meat and a few small gristles no matter how much I ask them to include them. They will make it right if you return. The first time I bought chicken it was delicious but every time I give it a chance I have to take chicken back or just throw it away because it taste old..I remember one time my daughter and I got chicken sausages and she keep playing over the chicken... and she said dad I cant eat this is nasty.The rest of food is pretty good like steaks and the sides. Oh cornbread is a little dry for me plus I like sweet cornbread.The owners are super nice and always try to fix your order if something is wrong. Ive been eating their food since they were on the side of the road with a grill and a table! They have come a long ways.

The food was delivered hot! 2 dinners; no flavor wings and totally burnt brisket sandwich: 2 sides. Overcooked macaroni/cheese and smooshy sweet yams. Also, a side of sour pickled coleslaw.

Im mad I had to give 1 star!! Ive gave this place a few tries and never again!! The food is salty and undone!! Ive tried several items, oxtails salty and I had to cook them for 45 minutes more when I got home. Called and told the manager and he claims hes not had any complaints! Lies! Only if you have teeth of steel could you chew their oxtails! Lamb chops were suppose to be medium and they were raw! Dressing salty, greens terrible, Mac and chesse running and bland. Wont get anymore money out of me! Only thing your getting from here is high blood pressure and hypertension! Take you money elsewhere

Great BBQ for take out. Everything was great. I had the ribs and brisket 😁. Awesome Mac and cheese is on point also. Not to mention its a meat market. U can grab some ribs for dinner that night and a steak or chicken or pork chops for the next night. 😆 Give it a try you wont be disappointed!!!!

Terrible service literally!I called in an order and they didnt even make it and they closed early. First time getting food from here for a hot minute, doesnt look like Im going to again anytime soon.Food is good, the people arent.I dont even accept doordash orders from there. Last time I did they had me waiting for well over a half hour, the head chef told the people upfront to help the walk-ins first. He didnt even say it subtly, he basically shouted it. Like 3 or 4 dashers left right then and there....

1st time customers and I wanted it to be great! So I ordered the rib tips, the barbecue sauce was really good but the ribs wasnt tender enough for me. The greens were salty salty and the yams were just okay! I even order a dessert!!! 😫 the sweet potato pie was horrible no smell taste like tobacco which how is that even possible!! 🤷🏾‍♀️ I would say try for yourself inwas toldbthe lamb chops were good

I was so excited to try this place through doordash but everything sounded too good to be true. And I refuse to waste money on oxtails that are white and dry according to many reviews. You don’t disrespect the Jamaican culture that way just because you’ll have no competition in the area. So I will pass and spread on the words to everyone who was excited for this place to order. You have let too many customers down and I’ll definitely take their words for it .

High quality meat selection. Fabulous deli! Lots of Michigan sourced items. Service is top rate. They are our first choice! I like their Red Potato Salad most of all. The place is kept very clean. It is a pleasant place to visit and shop. Their meats are fresh and they offer prime cuts at amazing prices. Parking is easy to get to and the shop itself is easy in and easy out.

Hello, I wish I can give them zero stars, my mother went and bought 1/2 barbecue chicken from this place. When she got home, some of the chicken was missing. Also it looked like it was cooked the day before. When she returned the food, there was no apology or anything. We really wanted to have a great dinner that night, but instead of staying upset. We drove to Nuwave down the street and got some delicious fish and chicken, their customer service was awesome. They way my mother was treated was sad, I wouldnt recommend anyone to go there.

Sides are really good but the steak i ordered was damn near raw.

Ordered two “authentic Jamaican dinners.” If you are Jamaican or know Jamaican food please don’t waste your time. Oxtail was white - no browning and the jerk chicken was just regular grilled chicken. Only thing I could eat was the mac and cheese.

Jeremy was already a legend on the gridiron and now he’s a legend with the smoker! (Great seeing him on Baligian and Bell’s program.) The Langford family showed its support for the community during the pandemic, and they deserve everyone’s support in return. Can’t wait until I’m back in town for more of their pulled pork!

First and last time I order....I ordered a corn beef sandwich and couldnt even eat it ...It had so much mustard on it. And the sausage I ordered tasted like grease and wasnt even done

Used to like the place when it first opened. Went in maybe a year ago and there was just nothing to choose from and decided to get it another chance here recently and still theres hardly any selection. For sure not the place to go if your looking for a meat place.

I have to say, I was throughly impressed with MotorCity Meats on vanborn just west of wayne rd. You would not expect it from its store front but, thats what I get for judging a book by its cover. Very clean organized and the staff were absolutely fantastic. The meats, seafoods, cheeses, sauces, and deli selections were extensive. Pricing was amazing. Definitely worth every dime I spent.

The food here is outstanding homemade bbq. Absolutely killer ribs and some of the best mac n cheese around. Good steaks to take home and grill yourself too. After one visit its already become a must go to spot.

I stopped here just to get a steak and was pleasantly surprised how great this shop is. Prices are very fair. The owner gave me a big box of bbq on the house and it was bomb! Family owned and operated, lots of love goes into their food. They serve bbq, seafood, desserts and much more. Highly recommend you stop here.

Nice people good food

We got the Rib Eye dinners tonight. The steaks were cooked perfectly and they put some magical spices and butter on it. It was the best steak that I have ever eaten. I got the mac n cheese and string beans, both apparently made with love from scratch. The cornbread, outstanding. I usually get the brisket, which melts in your mouth, but was very happy with my choice today. Dont miss this gem.

Ordered three corned beef sandwiches, delivered by door dash, and they were so soaked in mustard they were mostly inedible! Usually very good but we are very disappointed this time! Also, we ordered one large baked bean and two candied yams which were delicious, but $65.00 seems a bit much!!

So good. I got some raw meats for a very decent price and hit up their Real Mccoy lunch counter for some pulled pork and Mac & Cheese. The sauce they have on the pulled pork is amazing. I cant really describe it, but its bit of tang and slight sweetness hits all the right notes stacked against the savory pork. The Mac and cheese is traditional and every fork pull had some stringy cheesy goodness tagging along with the creamy well seasoned sauce. I drive by this place on the way to my midnight shift and looked at it longingly hoping for the time Id drive by at a normal time and it was open. Today was that day. Give em a try, they even had a sweet poster that you can take with various beef cut types and suggested cooking methods.

On several occasions the site & doordash showed the store was open for delivery & pick up. Every time I pull up it’s closed… PLEASE make it say that! Instead of a customer constantly wasting their time and gas.

I ordered a corn beef sandwich this past Saturday and the meat was tasteless. You get a large amount of meat but there was no corn beef taste. Im gonna try one more time, ordering a rib tip sandwich next time. My dtr ordered a rib tip dinner and loved the ribs. The sides were not good at all (collard greens and macaroni & cheese. The wait was too long in receiving our orders. Since the business is fairly new, we are going to give it a chance and try other foods on the menu before giving up.

Buyer beware if you order from Doordash or Grubhub. Every time weve ordered an had it delivered, a side is missing. Last time, an expensive meat order was placed and a sandwich came instead. The food is good but they need to work on ensuring their delivery orders are correct.

I want to highlight Paris who took my order over the phone. The food is good, but great/professional service makes everything that much better. Paris also rung me up at the cashier & even asked how my day was. He carried himself with Divine Grace. The food has always been good.

The mac & cheese was the soggiest I’ve ever had. The steak was extra dry & the greens were just okay. I will not order from here again.

Great place to shop and visit.

I really like this meat shop. The prices are fair and the meat quality is really good. Plus they have some great items you dont find anywhere else like the crab stuffed salmon roll (highly recommended) and a large selection of flavored sausages. The steaks are really good as well, especially that huge tomahawk! Plus everyone that works there is very friendly, especially the owner. This is by far the best meat shop in the Westland/Romulus/Van Buren/Canton area.

Very nice people but very uneducated about customer service and pricing that they make up. Many orders have been made and placed by myself and my family and each time they tell you what theprice is, we pay and when our order is ready they tell us we owe more money as if they dont know their own menu. Ive placed a order about 5 times and at least four times Ive had to be refunded due to their mistakes. Could be a great business especially since theyre black owned, just need to tighten up a little.

I absolutely love this place. Great prices, very close to my house. Friendly very knowledgeable staff. All of them go out of there way to get you what you want and make sure that what you want is what you need. They have specialty meats and slow cooks that have to be tasted to do them justice. But suffice it to say they amazing. I use the roast beef for cheese steaks and its awesome. If you have not been I implore you to stop in and get something for the grill. You wont be disappointed.

After calling around to various meat markets I came across motor city meats, they had the best prices on king crab legs at 15 bucks a pound, the lady at the register is very friendly and told me theyre under new management and guaranteed to have the lowest meat market prices around . The place is very clean inside and out and its not hard to find . Recommend 10/10

The barbecue and collard greens that i ordered didnt taste bad, but the macaroni and cheese and the slice of coconut cake was terrible. The cake was hard and stale. I dont know why they would even serve that to customers. I will never buy food from here again.

Excellent smoked meats. I travel a lot for work down south and this place is as good or better than some of the places I have been. Ive tried the ribs and brisket.

The brisket was dry and burnt, the pulled pork was mostly fat, the ribs were not the least bit tender - very dry and chewy. The green beans might as well have been mashed (so mushy!), the mac and cheese was flavorless, the cornbread was stale, the candied yams looked like pie filling and had way too much nutmeg or allspice (something), and the chocolate cake was stale. It was NOT worth the $60. I was excited about this place after reading other (early) reviews, but was left very disappointed tonight.

I went to Junteenth at the owner property and I was treated to food from his restaurant and when I found out the food had come from his establishment because it was good I had to come back! Weve been coming here for lamb chops and other meats for years. They are now black-owned and serve freshly prepared meals. The brisket is a good choice and any of their desserts.

First time ordered a slab of ribs they were ok. They seamed boiled to me but they were tender and the young lady forgot to give me some napkins. But other than that the service was good, I might go back and try something different.
