Gibson is a great person to talk to, and he will take good care of your guitar needs

Some of the workers are kind of condescending. Just because it’s a music store they think the customer will know every single technical term for items. As an employee you’re supposed to help the customer, not make them feel unwelcome. Won’t shop here again. Specifically, because of the guy with the glasses (think he’s a manager) making faces when a friend and I were asking questions for a purchase.I’ve never done a review before but this guy got me pretty upset so I had to. This was the second instance btw. He’s done the same before.

I will just lay out some facts and you can make your own decisions1. My son put a guitar on lay-a-way that had been on the shelf for two years according to the owner.2. He had the earned the money himself from his part time job.3. My company closed down operations in New Mexico so I was unemployed for a few months before I found work out of town. We were so broke that my son actually pitched in some of his money to help us move.4. I called the owner and told her that we had fallen on hard times and asked her for an extension to help give us more time to pay. The terms were 90 days. She told me that if we did not have the money in on time that we would lose the guitar and the 600 plus dollars we had put on the guitar and we were very close to paying it off. Her reason was that we had prevented her from selling it. But as I mentioned she told us that the guitar had been there two years. After a bit of condescension and arguing on her part she finally agreed to a brief extension.5. I called and asked what the balance was and she quoted a balance $200 higher that the actual balance. When I called back and asked someone else to verify the balance, I could hear her screaming in the background, What is he doing calling back? I already gave him his balance!!!6. My son and I were able to hustle enough money to actually get the guitar out before the deadline. To her credit she apologized for the misquote on the balance due.7. The day we picked the guitar up she actually took the sale from the employee that spent hours and hours with us. He did all the work and collected every payment except the final payment. But she couldnt even count the cash out he had to do that. I would have never talked to the owner about the entire transaction if it were not for the circumstance we were in.8. We are buying two more guitars, a drum set and key board not to mention all the accessories between now and Christmas. But I can assure you we will never set foot in that store again.9. I dont know know if you are familiar with the show Kitchen Nightmares, but Gordon Ramsey goes in to failing restaurants to bail turn them around. The problem is always the owners. Often times the owners are treating the employees poorly. But the owners can never see they are the problem. There appear to be many similarities here.

Theyre all so nice and friendly and helpful and really go out of their way to try to get what you need in musical equipment

Whenever I’m there, I haven’t gotten any bad experience. I got my ukulele there and it still works fine and was less than 100 dollars, the employees were helpful and I’m planning on coming back for stuff for my keyboard so yeah, even though this is basically the only music store in town, it’s still a good enough one
