We had the B&G and a one eyed willie. The food was okay. The biscuit was not fluffy and buttery as expected. The powdered sugar cookie was really good, more of a baked good or than your standard sugar cookie.
Great little spot! The coffee was excellent. They do drip coffee, espresso, and espresso drinks.Their espresso drinks are traditional italian/french style, with proper ratios of espresso:milk. I ordered a Cortado and it came in the proper glass (gibraltar) along with a few ounces of sparkling water. It was great! The temperature of the drinks were on point-hot enough to drink right after being served. The beans they use are very good and the barista did a great job of not using too much milk/foam.The food was very good as well. The Rowlett location doesnt have as a big of a menu as the Rockwall one, but their breakfast offerings were plenty.Belgian style waffles with a cinnamon syrup, tender bacon, juicy sausage patties and fresh fruit that was sweet and juicy. The smothered biscuits and sausage gravy was excellent. My wife (sensitive to salt) found it a tad salty, but I thought it was great. Lots of fresh cracked pepper on it as well.Definitely recommend!
Great homemade, made to order food! Had an omelet with a side of homemade toast. Delicious!! Service was fantastic! Cant say enough. Loved our visit
The food and drinks were amazing at this quaint and cozy food joint. I am pleasantly surprised at the acclaimed biscuits and how delicious they are. The atmosphere is inviting amd staff very pleasant. They accommodate when theres issues and make the place a great place to visit. I have to mark them down to 4 stars due to a longer than usual wait time for the waffles. There appeared to be a large backup on the waffles that day. Overall we will be coming back
Absolutely love this place, they have the best food, coffee, and staff. Everyone is super friendly and learns your name and order and love to help you find a new drink. Me and my 6 month son have been coming since they opened, and I always find room for his stroller. Have not found anything on the menu I dont love, but the tomato basil soup and melted cheese are my favorite. In my picture is the one eyed Willy.
A VERY cute and underrated coffee/breakfast/mimosa stop!! They also offer champagne - a just a couple reds. They have a wine cooler about 5 beers to choose from but its a great selection ! The food is amazing and hit the spot. Im going back again and again and again!!!
Just popped in to pick up a GH order. Cute little place and seemingly nice staff. My customers order was super simple and I sat there in a largely empty space for 10 minutes. Perhaps they dont know that Im on a timer. Putting your customers 1st is awesome but please give a sh*t about the ones who are being delivered to.
Amazing place! We were eating food there and they gave us free cookies on the house. Place was clean and followed restrictions, would rate 6 stars if possible
Great little cafe. Quiet, light & airy, good food and coffee, friendly staff. I sampled the fruit/yogurt plate with toast which was delicious, and had a Benny latte which I loved. Highly recommend.
Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram at SNDTravels. As Rowlett residents who travel all over the country and love fresh made type of deli/bakery settings, we were excited to give it a try. Diane had the Bistro with fruit and I had the Club with chips. They also gave me a sample of the house made pimento cheese to try and it was good. We would have loved a good glass of iced tea but for a reason that seemed unclear they either didnt have any or couldnt/wouldnt make anything but hot tea so we had water. I ordered my club with wheat and was told it wasnt toasted and was best that way but I had them toast it, almost to his chagrin. He recommended the jalapeno mayo which I tried and it was good. Not spicy hot but a little jalapeno flavor and it was a good flavor addition to the sandwich. The meats also had good flavor and the spinach was crisp. The chips were thick deli style and good. The only problem was the bacon was chewy but overall a good sandwich. Dianes Bistro was a good combination of flavors with ham, goat cheese, apple and some honey with arugula. Her bread was white and she left it untoasted. Her arugula was just turning brown enough that she took it off and her bread was thicker cut and while the flavor was good it was just a little much so she only ate half the bread. The homemade breads were very good but we both agreed that having them toasted is much better than plain as it really enhances the flavor. The fruit side was so so. Most of the fruits are not in season so I would probably skip serving something that just cant have the freshness this type of place wishes to serve. The man at the counter was friendly enough but not strong on customer service skills. Any changes or questions seemed to be a irritation. Walking back into the kitchen to call out a name over a loud speaker instead of just serving the plates himself seemed a bit disinterested, especially since there were only a couple of customers and the place is very small. The bakery items were limited to maybe six choices so dont go looking for a full service bakery. Just enough items to have something with your coffee or sit and read. It almost felt like the place was holding back to see if business will be good before thay let loose. We havent tried the one in Rockwall and had no idea they were companions until I asked the guy at the front desk if he was the owner to which I got a yes, no, kinda and then the Rockwall connection.Theres a chance this could be good and the breakfast reviews help but it needs more commitment to service and an overall stable feel because you have Mccallisters and Panera Bread just around the corner. We will probably try it again because we want this type of place available close by.
Great taste. Fun atmosphere. If you like your coffee shop straight and to the point with good food this is the place for you.
What an awesome cafe! Next door to the Rowlwtt library(theres a door on the inside that connects the two). Small but dont let the size full you. Hands down best latte Ive ever had and Ive had a lot. Im a coffee nut, so yeah...We had the 3egg omelet called the Stomp with added bacon. OMG!! Amazing! Everything was fresh and you could taste it. Eggs were perfectly seasoned, no added salt or pepper needed. Cant wait to come back and try more of their fare.
Great place. Food was fresh and flavorful- highly recommend the sweet emotion and the biscuits and gravy. The coffee is even better somehow. Service is amazing too- the gentleman behind the counter was super kind! Can’t wait to come back and try more.
Awesome food! Only one thing on our order was accidently switched, and it was promptly fixed with an uplifting staff. 5 stars!
Listed as organic, they are LOCALLY sourced, for folks trying to avoid pesticides and GMOs they would need to contact each of the sources.NOT actually ORGANIC.
Fell in love with this place on the first visit. Order the 3-egg omelet and was NOT disappointed. Best omelet Ive ever had. Fresh ingredients and very delicious. Also had a cup of one of their coffee creations called The Local - definitely will be going back to this cafe many times over.
Great service, food, and coffee. We enjoyed the outdoor seating and friendly staff 👍🏻☕️😊
Went in to get coffee beans (apparently they roast their own!) but they were out. Barista was apologetic offered me a coffee on the house. Extremely friendly staff, would recommend
Very delicious! Staff is friendly and quick.
Cute coffee shop with great food. Whether youre searching for a place to get some work done or needing to grab a quick cup of coffee, I highly recommend Book Club.
I love this place. To be fair, I work here, but we put so much time and energy into this food, I guarantee youll love it.
Cute lil place to read (books on site), the Benny was delicious. Have a special to go lid for their cappuccino so you can still taste the foam in the to go cup soo awesome. I loved that extra detail. Friendly staff & peaceful ambiance.
Small/cute shop next to a Library - would return again
Delivery order was canceled randomly. I called to inquire and I was told they were too busy for delivery orders and then hung up on me. Take your business elsewhere.
Food was great. Tiny place with not many tables.
Tried this cute little restaurant this morning for the 1st time. Had breakfast and iced lattes. All of it was so delicious. And very friendly staff! Would definitely recommend ♡♡♡
This is one of our goto places for awesome weekend breakfast. Espresso is fantastic with a nice bitter edge. Lattes and other drinks are handcrafted with care. Hot apple cider in the fall makes my wife swoon. Food is great, too, especially biscuits and gravy, though frankly, Ive never had anything bad! Great selections of omelets and sandwich options which you can customize to your hearts content. On top of it, Davis and co are a super friendly group of folks who really make you feel at home!
We didnt try one bad dish, and most of the dishes pushed me outside my normal zone into flavors I had truly never experienced.Everyone should get to experience this place at least once in their lives.
Don’t know why it’s closed on Tuesday ? Still giving 5 stars because want to give the benefit of the doubt.
I bought the $50 Groupon for $20. Me and my girlfriend went and the place was empty and it didnt take long to know why. They were out of everything and I mean everything. Its hard to screw up a lunch meat sandwich 🥪 but it was the worse sandwich Ive ever eaten or took a bite of. Got a ☕ and it tasted like a cup of honey 🍯. Best thing we had was a Cinnamon roll came from a separate Bakery run from this place!!ordered a salad and it was a bowl of spinach with a slice of tomato 🍅
Great food and drinks! Funny and helpful staff !!
A great coffee destination with incredibly personal staff. It feels like this coffee shop belongs in Mr. Rogers Neighborhood.
Great atmosphere, friendly people. Never over crowded. Good place to meet with friends for coffee or have a face to face buisness meeting. 4 stars because the coffee is really strong. Need a less bold option.
Super friendly, awesome staff!! Davis is the best -- become a regular and he will know your name and your order. So great to have a place like this in Rowlett.Great coffee. Every. Time. Also great cookies. Also great beer. Just really wonderful taste overall
I have honestly never had anything here that I didnt absolutely love. From the coffee, to the burgers, to the biscuits and jam, everything is wonderful. The only issue Ive ever had is that items sell out quickly, which is completely understandable because everything is so delicious! The trivia nights and movie nights are so fun too!
This place was quaint and very modern. I loved the food and the atmosphere. It is on the more expensive side but you definitely get quality.
The service is fun and pleasant. The food options and taste are awesome!!Definitely plan on going back & spreading the word. ☕🍳🍺🍷
The one thing we love about this place is there fresh baked bread and quality ingredients. The 5150 bread is outstanding and keeping it simple with a 3 egg omelette and sausage gravy is a great move even though they have very extravagant combinations available that are equally as delicious.
This place is awesome. The food is excellent and the people are better, if possible. Davis really brought it home with hospitality and personality. Love it.
Bought a Groupon and they refused to honor it even after speaking with the manager. Bad business!
Delightfully quaint café. Limited selection of fresh made goods, smooth coffee but the seating is just a tad uncomfortable. If you get a drink with your book, read it next door in the library.
Really good coffee and cute vibes next to library
So happy we finally have a Book Club Cafe in Rowlett!!! I love the location in downtown and they have all of my favorite beverages from the Rockwall location!
Great vibe! Friendly service drinks range from house coffee to craft beer to kombucha! Eclectic menu has something for everyone!!
Best Lattes you can find, lovely people too.
Ive been a fan of the Rockwall spot since it was the Lifehouse, and Ive been waiting for Rowlett to have a great coffee shop (no, the three Starbucks dont count).Book Club roasts their own beans, so make a plan to take some home with you. I love the waffle and the one-eyed willy, but all the food here is great.Plus, its right on Main St. and connected to the Library. I love this place and Im so glad its in Rowlett!
Fresh food - friendly staff!
Not a bad spot, coffee was to expensive though. 3.50 for a black coffee that wasnt that great. At that rate Id rather go to Starbucks
Get yourself over to Book Club - Rowlett today! It is a smaller version of the Rockwall location but just as cool! It is connected to the Rowlett library so you can enjoy 2 of my favorite pastimes -reading and coffee-ing. Book Club roasts all their own coffee, makes their own bread and pastries, and most of their own everything else! What they dont make they buy from local farmers! Plus this location has the almighty Slayer espresso machine! Introduce yourself to Davis - hes one of the best humans on this planet!
Best cappuccino and latte outside Italy! And food is delicious too!
Mmmmmmm
Best food. Best service. Best music. Love this place
Such friendly people that work there, amazing customer service, and even more amazing food! So glad this is literally right below me!
Book Club Cafe is an absolute treasure. My family and I live in Fort Worth, but anytime we are in the Rowlett/Rockwall area, we make sure to stop in as often as possible to Book Club Cafe. Our favorite latte is the Benny, specifically the 12 oz as it has a perfect mixture of espresso, milk, and syrup that just hits the spot. Their food is so creative too! From their crispy waffles with meats and cheese on it (the Caveman) and biscuits and sausage gravy, to their fresh bowls of fruits... this place will fill you up for the day and you will leave with a smile on your face. The staff is always friendly and concerned with making sure that you are satisfied with what you are receiving. Not to mention, if you go during the same time the library is open, you can get a book there (they share doors with the Rowlett library) and read while sipping on some awesome coffee. Keep it up yall and bring another location to FW!
Davis is genuine and endearing, and the breakfasts are out of this world delicious!
Great cafe! Food is delicious
Great food & coffee at a good price.
Super delicious Willie 1 eye sanwich!
Went to take kiddos to get some cookies but everytime we go there are none. Today guy with cowboy was very rude probably wont try these place again.
Cant wait to return...
Great for after school.
