Staff is super nice and the environment is friendly. I normally play yugioh, but they got Magic, Vanguard, and Gate Ruler if youre into that kind of thing. Overall, if youre going to play at tourneys or just trying to buy tcg product, its a great place to be!

Just went today and the staff was rude. Yu-Gi-Oh tournament going on but nothing but magic the gathering on display in plain sight? If people werent playing Yu-Gi-Oh, I would have thought they only sold magic. No customer service whatsoever here. Better off buying online than to both with this joke of a place and I mean ANYTHING they sell cause their prices are absurd and not in line with actual market. Just dont bother.

I asked the worker how much a game boy color was, he told me 190. So I asked him how much a Pokemon game was and he told me if 190 was out of my price range he wouldnt even tell me the price of the game.. so I asked the price of a different game and when he told me 175, I showed him it was worth 30 on pricecharting.com, he freaked out but then apologized and realized he was wrong. He also called me a thief for using eBay and mercari . I was in the store for all of 2 minutes and this guy literally went off on me, I live right down the street this used to be my favorite game store, Im glad yall made it open through the pandemic but the service has dropped. When I travel, i like finding local game shops. Game Master fits the bill in the Garland/Rowlett Texas area. While their main gaming line appears to be Magic: the Gathering, they also had a broad variety of other games represented, including Warhammer 40k, Dungeons & Dragons, Cardfight Vanguard, and numerous board games.For me, the find of the day was a booster box of Flesh and Blood, something Ive been unable to find near my home or to source for my game store.If you enjoy hobby gaming, stop by and check them out.

I have been here a few times over the past 20 years. I have seen it evolve more in to more board games like MAGIC and Others. No longer video games, except a very small selection. Small section of Pokey Man Cards also.Store not really my taste now, but the new generation of kids like it and seem to have a blast there. So glad to have in our community. The young guy i usually see there, always is friendly to me.

My absolute favorite game store. I live in Greenville and I am absolutely willing to drive all the way to Rowlette to get to Game Master. They try to get to know you on a first name basis and are always super helpful answering questions. 10/10 would recommend

I went here all the time when I was a kid. The owners were always super nice. Any time my parents were late, they never made me pay extra to keep playing on a console while I waited for them to remember where I am lol. I dont think they ever realized what that kindness truly meant to me. Hell, Id beg my dad for us to wash clothes at a nearby laundromat just so I could have an excuse to come in. I really hope you guys have been doing well. This place was a safe haven for more kids than you will ever know. And we owe you a lot.

This place is just simply awful. I used to come here all the time back in highschool for yu gi oh tournament, never once in my life have I been so humiliated infront of my peers. I asked the new owner for some ones, and the dude blew up on me announcing to the whole room how we dont do trades with cash in the building, saying how its ruining his business. Dude first off I just wanted to use the vending machine, secondly if you have a problem with me say it to me not to the whole store, thirdly I hope Mike(Danny) forgives me for this review. Maybe its a race thing, it is 2020 after all I wouldnt be surprised at this point.

Really wanted to go here and get my husband his birthday presents. We love magic.Called 4 times and waited and waited. No one ever answered so I couldnt verify they were open. Im assuming theyre closed or too lazy to answer the phone and they need to fix their google times. Saved me a 37 minute drive there.

Awesome store! Owner was very professional, and willing to show the pins for an NES games prior to me purchasing it. Owners very personable and its a fun place to visit! :)

I was looking for a place to go to so I could get out of the house more as someone who struggles with PTSD. I won’t say that everyone there will be kind 24/7 because games attract people from all walks of life, but that staff and owner are the absolute best, and the regulars are some of the best people I’ve met. I love this place.

Great place, owner was super helpful, upfront about pricing and very fair. You can’t expect a store with rent, bills, and other overhead expenses to be as cheap as the guy online selling his stuff out of his garage. That said, after I made my purchase I sat and talked with the owner for a bit, the store does some really neat things for the customer and he cares about keeping a healthy community there.

After having this card shop referred to me at a local comic book convention, I finally decided to make the 30 minute drive to this card and tabletop gaming shop.I was astonished. If youre an old-school card player, you know that it is very difficult to find card shops that have the same welcoming vibe, back when there was a much better selection of independently owned and run businesses. This place has managed to recapture that comfortable vibe.The place is great for tournaments. Its a place you want to spend time in if you are a card game or tabletop enthusiast. The atmosphere is great and the place was clean. They have drinks and snacks for long play days and a lot of area to play in.The staff was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable. You get the impression they genuinely love their customers and care about the product they sell. They keep very up to date on most mainstream card games and have quite a few more rare games around. They had a very surprisingly awesome selection of older retro video games as well. They probably have the single best selection on card sleeves and card boxes that Ive seen in the Dallas so far.Overall I mention that it was a 30 minute drive for me, because despite that drive? I will be back to Game Master in the future for their weekly tournaments. I recommend this place if youre trying to find a authentic, quality card shop.

No clue how this place is in business. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. The owner was very obvious in his attempt to price gouge customers, questioned upon this, his attitude proceeded to get worse as he kicked me, and my friend out of his shop. Could not stress this more: there are better and friendlier shops in the area. We simply wanted to give something new a chance; bad idea. 0 out of 5.

Great place to find table top games old school video games and consoles. Ataris, all the ps and xboxs, Nintendos and even more obscure thing. Its an awesome nostalgia trip. Love this place.

This place actually has a good selection of retro console games at a reasonable price, as opposed to most video game stores that have a disappointing selection of the like, and good games that are overpriced. Sadly, the original owner passed on about a month ago, but the family does a very good job at keeping business at the same high standards that have allowed this place to be my go to for anything pertaining to video and board games.

Great place to play Yugioh. The crowd is friendly. The staff is, too. They sell merch a lot cheaper than other places (some deck boxes are 20 dollars cheaper here than anywhere else locally!).I like the staff too.

Me and my friend got kicked out by the employee/manager/owner in 2 minutes. My friend asked about the pricing on yugioh savage strike special edition displays, and the guy said they were 100 bucks. My friend pulled out his phone to double check pricing online, and the employee flipped out and told us to leave. You can get the displays online for 70 bucks btw, explaining why he freaked out, aware of the fact his prices arent competitive whatsoever. Worst card shop experience Ive ever had, I recommend the employee seek an occupation outside of the realm of customer service as this is obviously a weak point for him. 0/5 experience I highly recommend you pass on financially supporting this shop whatsoever, comic asylum in Richardson is a much better choice.

Great store, great prices, great people. Ive been frequenting Game Master recently, as Ive been doing a lot of trade-ins on old consoles and some games that Ive lost interest in. They always offer great value, especially with the in-store credit option. The game selection is pretty good, especially when it comes to old-school Nintendo (NES - N64 era). They have the lowest prices around on everything from games to trading cards, both of which I buy almost exclusively from here. The staff are very friendly and willing to do whatever it takes to make sure you have a full grasp of whatever it is you need to know. If I were to have any complaints whatsoever, it would be that they have very few current-gen products, though that can be easily solved if people were to trade in their own current-gen consoles and games here, where they would most likely leave more satisfied than if they did so elsewhere. This still isnt enough to drop my rating though, as thats not even what most people visit for. Where Game Master truly shines is in its TCG tournaments. I will say that I have never been to one myself due to schedule conflicts, but Ive heard nothing but great things from people that frequent them. The staff are very knowledgeable about Magic the Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh, and the Pokémon TCG, all of which they hold tournaments for at least once every week. If Im not mistaken, entry is $5 and they have a pack-per-win policy, in which you recieve one booster pack for every victory that night. I will note that none of the staff have a Pokémon Professorship so the PTCG tournaments arent official as of yet, but one is expecting to complete the process soon. I hope this gives yall some insight as to what makes Game Master such a fantastic place.
