Terrible company. Use anyone else. I own rentals in the area and use most of the oil providers. I inherited Irving and they made everything impossible. Even setting up service! When the contract expires I will be switching. Id run through the horror story, but it would be a waste of time. Just choose another company and save yourself countless headaches.
I had the same issue as Barry Donovan (below). In fact, Barry is the one that solved my problem. When I read his review I got in touch with him and he was kind enough to come over and help me. I purchased my home 3 years ago. The System 2000 furnace that Irving installed was only a year old and I was having problems with it in the cold weather months. When I called Irving I received the same response as Barry. Because I wasnt a customer they would not service it. I had no choice but to switch in order to get the furnace serviced. I wasnt happy and let them know I didnt think that was fair. I was told they would need to run a credit check and would call me back. That was over a month ago. No return phone call! In the meantime I read Barrys post and was able to find him on FB. We texted back and forth and he offered to come look at the furnace. Hes a wealth of information and was able to solve my problem. He also gave me the name of another company in Rutland that WILL service the System 2000 so Ill be happy to use them! Its disappointing to see how poor their customer service is and the tactics they use to get customers.
I’d give them 0 stars if possible. My girlfriend and I set up auto delivery after running our credit and paying what we needed to for our first delivery. Long story short it’s cold as hell out with a 5 year old child in the house and they failed to delivery leaving us oil less. We call to check and they tell us it’s not their problem because we never signed up for auto delivery... switching companies as I write this
I called to have my furnace serviced and was told since I dont buy oil from them, they will not service the furnace. I stated that I had bought the furnace from them 2 years ago for about $8500. That apparently does not matter so if you buy a furnace from them, do not expect any service after the warranty period unless you buy oil from them. Had I known that was their policy I would have bought the furnace elsewhere. So beware of that if you deal with them.I would have given 0 stars but that is not an option.Fortunately someone read my review and contacted me about a problem they were having with a System 2000 furnace similar to the one I had bought from Irving and then they refused to service it. I was able to help this person solve their problem as they had contacted Irving and was told that since they dont buy their oil from them, Irving cannot service their system. Now Irving is a System 2000 dealer here but they provide limited service. There are other companies that will service the system but since the system is so efficient and clean burning you do not need a System 2000 tech to do normal service. So buy your oil from whoever desire, use someone else to service your furnace and avoid Irving Energy at all costs. You wont regret it.
Didnt show up on their date of delivery like they were supposed to company never offered any compensation and now since theyre running late now I had to plow and shovel sand the driveway when I wasnt expecting to because was done two days ago when the drivway was already treated. Literally watched the propane truck drive by twice while out front with the kids...
We are new to the area..the owner of the rental said to call Irving ...made us wait more than 1 month for an inspection and to set a tank. We ran out of propane in the freezing cold and was told that we have to wait 4 days for a delivery when the company is located 7 miles from my rental..But if we wanted to pay and extra $125.00 they could bring it with in 24 hours.I feel like this is predatory behavior and taking advantage of someone in a desperate time.. and will call the BBB..not very good customer service not very good ppl skills at all..if u read this i wld advise looking elsewhere as we are.if i could give a negative star rating i would..Big companys forget its us little ppl who make them big..
I had purchased an office building for my business in 2016 with a propane tank owned by Irving Energy. I had asked the company to come and remove it, as I was using another company for years. They ran a Hard Inquiry for me personally without my permission, to give my business $120 back.
Super unhelpful and poor services
