Detroit Custom & Collision is a very friendly, professional, family owned business! I felt so welcomed & was taken great care of. I got into a car accident over the weekend & had dropped it off on Monday to be repaired. To my surprise the car was all finished by Friday, within 5 days!! Awesome work done by an awesome staff! Carrie who works front desk, calls to keep you updated during the process & I thought that was very thorough & kind of them to make sure I was informed. I will definitely be telling everyone I know to come here for any bodywork needs :) woo! happy customer!

Friendly liars...*Edit: It took over a year for the owner to respond. He says that my complaint is not a part of their repairs. My headlight was working when I dropped off my truck. The headlight in question was the one removed by Detroit Custom. Once we removed it to see what was wrong, we saw their electrical error. Im not sure how it wasnt them. The only times my headlight was removed was:1. By them to correct damage done during my accident.2. By us to correct their mistake.The wires didnt magically hook themselves up incorrectly! The connections didnt jump to different harnesses during the accident! Chris should own up to his businesss mistake instead of continuing to lie and blame the customer.There is another review with the same complaint - A lie about pre-existing conditions. It was already like that. Thats their go to when it should be, Im sorry. Let me make it right.Its absurd that they would think Im that stupid, or any readers of this review. They were at fault, and its blatantly obvious.This is a warning about their character and how unethical they can be.*Original Review Below:Chris, the owner, was very informative with a great attitude. Kerry, at the front desk, was also extremely nice!I had to bring my truck in after an accident, so I went through insurance with them.We agreed to an aftermarket bumper, and I would be responsible for the difference. Chris let us know that we would apply any supplemental payments to the price of the bumper. Two of these supplements were for painting the bumper and the displacement of my headlight - both of which were missed by the initial estimator at Service King.When they sent in the request for brackets, they completely forgot about the paint and headlight. These were funds needed to go towards the bumper, like we agreed. I had to push them to send another request.Once I received the truck back, it looked great! The bumper was mounted nicely and they even halfheartedly washed it for me. Another positive, their pricing was extremely reasonable. If this had been it, they wouldve gotten a 4 star rating and referrals.However, my headlight, the one on which they had made adjustments, no longer worked. They tried to tell me that it was not working when I dropped it off. Um, BS. It was working; I could see it and I had no alarms or warnings about it.When we pulled the headlight, we saw that it had been incorrectly reconnected. Easy fix, but alas, one that they didnt even try before lying about its performance.We know that it would never have worked the way it was connected, because the neutral and hot were reversed for the different wiring harnesses. Again, it was working when I handed them my keys.When I called them out on an obvious mistake and lie, they still refused to own up to it. This speaks volumes about their character.Im thankful it wasnt something detrimental they did and were not truthful about.

Well Chris, Matt and their staff did it again. We had our 2016 Vet back from them after a full paint and body repair and in less than 24 hours a lady backed into us. I thought my husband was going to have the “Big One” when he realized she had not cleared his baby😩. This happened last Saturday morning. We took it to Detroit Custom on Monday and they performed a miracle and we got it back fully repaired Friday afternoon in time to take it to Keller’s Hamburger and have dinner. I can’t express how much we are pleased and will be customers for life!!!!

These guys and gals are amazing. Awesome work and fast. Amazing customer service. Last time I brought my truck in the told me 2 weeks and called a week later and it was done. Will use this body shop indefinitely.

This is an outstanding body shop. Chris is honest and does not try to gauge you and play games. The work on my car was excellent and done in the time table promised. I was pleasantly surprised that my car had been cleaned after work was completed.

I had a great experience with Chris, Carmen and the whole team. I brought my storm damaged car ( only a year old) to them for hail repair. They did a great job dealing with insurance and the whole experience was very pleasant. When I needed to leave my rental car there until the company could pick it up, it was no problem. These guys do top-notch work. Ive had my wifes 2012 Dodge Challenger R/T in their shop twice in the last two years to repair accident damage. The first time was 2013 and then again just this month (Oct. 2014). Both times the repairs were perfect and completed on time with zero issues. The owner, Chris, and his wife, Carmen, are good people. The shop is always clean and organized. I hope we dont have any more accidents, but if we do, Detroit Custom and Collission will be my first choice for a paint and body shop.

These guys are great to work with! While not exactly a classic, my car has a ton of sentimental value and it had been in my family for 40 years (since new)., and it was important that any repairs be done right. Unfortunately, it had been in a severe hailstorm several years ago, and had a substantial number of dings on most body panels, the vinyl top was ruined, windshield was cracked, and the dash pad had turned black from baking in the hot sun. Eventually, I just left it sitting in my garage, where it continued to deteriorate, thinking I would just probably have to scrap it. I had visited four different body shops near my house, but it seems that most were primarily interested in high-profit quick-turnaround insurance work, or wanted to charge me WAY more than I had budgeted to spend. The last one referred me to Chris at Detroit Custom. I finally called a wrecker and had my car hauled over to Sachse to begin this project. Chris first referred me to a reputable mechanic, who completely overhauled the motor and transmission. Then, Chris and his guys worked their magic on the body and paintwork, and now my car looks like it did when I was a kid....I had pretty high expecations, and wasnt disappointed. If you want someone to do a great restoration, at a reasonable price, head over to Detroit Custom - these guys know what theyre doing. Chris and Carmen (his wife) are a great to work with, communicating with their customers throughout the process. I really appreciate all the excellent work they and their team did on my car.

Detroit Custom and Collision is the BEST place to take your vehicle to. The owners treat you like family and make sure your vehicle is fixed right and in a timely manner. They make the process so easy and take care of everything for you. I have used them on 3-4 occasions due to accidents that were not my fault. They worked on my 2011 Chevy Camaro after a horrible accident and you could never tell it was in an accident. They also fixed my Camaro when I was involved in other minor accidents and again you could not tell the vehicle was in an accident.The owners and everyone that works there are professional and you wont find a cleaner more organized shop. They are the best and treat their customers great! I have referred a lot of people to them and will always continue to. Detroit Custom and Collision is the place to take your vehicle to if you want to be treated right! Thank you guys for all you have done.

Very very Poor company and Customer Service!!!!I took my 2008 dodge nitro to them to repair the hail damage. They did a great job on repairing the hail damage and only missed one dent after inspection. Looked inside and the headliner had dirty grease prints from the front all the way to the back. The antenna for the radio was broken in 3 pieces. When we brought all this to Chris (the owner) attention he said the headliner looked like that before they started work and the antenna was broken too. The antenna got broken because they ran the car through the car wash and didnt remove it. Chris didnt want to take responsiblity for any of it. The small dent they missed, he had the pdr guy come back and fix it and it was half ass as now I have a high spot with two small dents on both sides. The headliner ( thats white ended up looking like a dalmation) they half assed tried to clean and then gave us a can of tuff stuff to clean it and said sorry. The antenna he wouldnt do anything for us. A week later the sunroof started leaking. And it never leaked until they removed it. Took it back and they said it was nothing they did. Very bad customer service. And talked to me like I didnt know anything. And when sitting in the waiting area he does not say anything to you when he knows he was in the wrong. This company takes no responsibilities of fault so now we have to order parts and do it ourselves. Also taking our 2015 Dodge Ram Diesel to Caliber for the hail damage repair and any other future things.
