Review is for the front desk .Before going into my appointment I had informed them that I did not have my ID for my anthem Blue Cross. They said that they take anthem Blue Cross and so it was fine. I confirmed with them again before arriving.When I arrived they said that they could not see me because I did not have My ID number. I had told them I could just call and get the ID number. They said after a certain amount of time that they couldnt see me anymore for the appointment and it would have to be canceled.It was absolutely ridiculous. Disappointing customer service. I called anthem Blue Cross myself in 10 minutes and got the ID number when I got home and made my appointment elsewhere .

I have been seeing Dr. Kim-Dunlavey regularly for a few months since diagnosis of a chronic condition that affects my vision, and have appreciated her monitoring of my condition. All was going well until my most recent appointment. I brought up some new vision issues and she got very frantic and basically offloaded me as a patient. This seemed uncharacteristic of her based on her disposition at our previous appointments.I understand that some things can be out of a certain specialists scope of practice, but I would have appreciated at least a little more explanation as to why, and greater effort to understand my symptoms before suddenly terminating care. My concern is now I will have to wait a long time without the routine monitoring my condition requires, while waiting to see a new specialist.The administrative staff has always been great and Im sure Dr. Kim-Dunlavey is a talented doctor in other areas, but I would not recommend coming here for longterm care or monitoring for a chronic condition/disability. This lack of positive bedside manner and the disruption created by sudden termination can be very complicated and detrimental for those of us who deal with these conditions, so I hope to make others aware if that is what youre searching for in an ophthalmologist.

Dr. Kim-Dunlavey did my cataract surgery last month and I am very happy with the result! She and the entire staff are professional and very personable. I felt fully confident that I was in good care from the very first appointment. Thank you, Dr. Dunlavey!

Im experiencing an extreme pain in my eye... and having 3 sty with pus in same eye lid, I was in panic! Though she is not a doctor,Im grateful for Natalie, who was kind and sympathetic in my grief.

Dr. Reed did my lasik surgery 11 years ago and I still have 20/15 vision. Hes the best, I wouldnt let anyone else point a laser at my eyes. The whole process was really easy and he did a great job explaining the evaluation and procedure. The procedure and recovery were a breeze too. Its been life changing to not need contacts or glasses for the last decade, Im extremely grateful to Dr. Reed and the other staff that made it possible. No notes. Would do again. 10/10.

I didnt think that not having to wear glasses / contacts would make as big a difference as it has. Getting LASIK has been a life changing experience. The staff at Griffin & Reed were attentive and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire experience. Dr. Maboudi was my physician. She thoroughly explained the operation and answered every question I had. Working with her was fantastic.

I use to go here when i was in collage, and Dr Seydel took good care of me. I just moved back and went in for glasses. Its been two months and i still dont have my glasses. They will not issue a refund. Due to Covid-19 I dont want to travel, but they have made me come back five times. Will not return calls. Dont Go Here. Not what it used to be.

My ophthalmologist, Dr Nilu Maboudi, is brilliant and compassionate.I’ve been with her for 20 years and have always experience everything I could hope in eye care. Four plus years ago I moved out of the area and tried to find a new ophthalmologist, one closer to my new home. Nobody could come close to Dr Maboudi. She really is the gold standard. I now drive 71 miles to my appointments with her and am very thankful to do so.

I can not speak more highly of my entire process from start to finish. As a health care practitioner myself, it was important that I found someone I could trust as well as deliver the best patient care. Dr. Reed was absolutely fabulous. He explained everything to myself and my husband, answered all of our questions and left us assured for the procedure. Its been almost 2 months since my surgery and I can honestly say its been life changing. Not only is my vision perfect, but not having to deal with my contacts, itchiness, tired eyes has been a game changer for me in my clinical setting. I have already referred multiple patients to Dr. Reed and will continue to do so! Five stars doesnt do this review justice!!! So very thankful for my new eyes. I can now see in high definition :)

Dr Kim was awesome! I cant say enough good things about my PRK eye correction experience. I now see 20/15 and my regular ophthalmologist asked me who did my surgery because he said he did a better that average job on my eyes. I had my lasik surgery here in November and it was seriously the greatest decision Ive made. The consultation is extremely in depth and was honestly one of my favorite parts. Dr. Reed is so knowledgeable and tells you everything you need to know about your eyes and the procedure. I felt really prepared and knew exactly what to expect during the surgery and healing process. The procedure itself was quick and painless. I was able to see the next day and I have 20/15 vision now. I definitely recommend this place to everyone I know.

At an appointment to get some eyeglasses and contacts, the reception staff was so rude and made us feel so uncomfortable that we just left!Drove straight to Costco and had a great experience with a much lower price tag. Exactly what you would expect.Some basic polite customer service would have been appreciated!

Really bad experience, Im leaving a couple of stars because Dr. Moreno was a good doctor, went there for 2-3 years.I was told I was a candidate for Lasik, got the preliminary measurements done and scheduled the surgery for the end of last year (Dec 2019). I planned my family’s medical finances (extra savings) and time off work around this. I had been emailing back and forth various questions with Amee (the surgical coordinator or equivalent) about the surgery: cost, recovery time, etc etc. All throughout this process, and the back and forth conversations were about Lasik. I then received a packet in the mail with docs/info re: the surgery, all for Lasik. I had some more questions, emailed them and they recommended I talk to the doctor. The doctor gave me a call and during the course of that conversation, I found out that the surgery he was recommending was PRK, not Lasik. I cancelled every appt I had pending with them, and left a message for the manager (forwarded from reception), about the mix up. I said I wasn’t trying to get anyone in trouble etc, but this is a pretty huge oversight. I said I didn’t necessarily need a call back but wanted to bring it to their attention.I then received a call a day or so ago from Amee asking if I was ‘still interested in scheduling eye surgery’, as if nothing had happened and I just needed to reschedule. I said ‘no definitely not, I was given the wrong info’ etc and she said ‘ok I’ll take you off the list.’ I then called the office back and asked to talk to a manager, because it was concerning that they weren’t notating or remembering that situation, they forwarded me to Sabrina. After going back and forth between them (on hold, transferring etc), Sabrina gave an apology ‘I’m sorry I’m sure that must have been stressful that the procedure changed etc…it’s really for your safety’. I told her the procedure changing is not the concerning part, it’s the fact that it wasn’t communicated to me; I was a patient who didn’t have the correct info about what was scheduled for me, and possibly wouldn’t have had a chance to change or correct things if I needed to. Amee read through our emails back and forth (‘proof’ I had been talking about Lasik, but it’s their job to correct the patient if the doctor is recommending a different surgery, how would I know? I’m not the doctor), never apologized/seemed concerned about what I was saying and continued to act like there was no fault on their end. Sabrina was more sympathetic but there still was an attitude of ‘sometimes the doctor has to change the procedure they’re recommending based on that person’s prescription’ etc. The fact is, it shouldn’t be normal for this change to happen without notifying the patient beforehand. It’s kind of shocking that they haven’t acknowledged this seemingly common sense (I thought) fact. I was treated as an inconvenience when they should have been bending over backwards to correct the situation: apologize, give me a credit for anything Lasik related I had been in for etc. I’m a reasonable person and this was an unacceptable situation handled very badly.If I hadn’t happened to call and get the updated info from the doctor, I could have potentially gone in for a procedure that I thought would be a couple days of recovery and a different amount of money. On the fly, I would have had to try and figure out weeks off of work (not possible for me) and would have planned my finances incorrectly etc. If that’s an acceptable scenario to this office, just know, it’s not acceptable to literally anyone I’ve explained the situation to (including my now current eye doctor).By chance, I uncovered the information about a major eye surgery I was going in for in a week or 2, and there’s no concern at all on their end about why this was missed/why this happened.

My experience with Dr. Reed and his team was fantastic! I am glad that I did my research and found the best-qualified group for my LASIK. My vision is extremely important to my profession, and I did not have any abnormal down-time or difficulty with work. A week after my surgery, I climbed a peak over Tahoe. As I reached the summit and saw everything so far and so clearly, I was very happy that I trusted Dr. Reed with my care. I can see better now than I ever did with contacts!

I had my initial consultation for eye surgery mid November with Dr Maboudi. Part of the consultation included and extensive examination and imaging of my eyes so that Dr Maboudi could evaluate and see if I was a good candidate for eye surgery. Dr Maboudi was very professional and friendly, going over the differences between LASIK and the PRK procedures, the pros and cons of each, and answered all the questions I had. She recommended PRK for me, which is very similar to LASIK but has a longer recovery time. Based on the evaluation of my eyes she told me how it would be a better fit for me and allow for any corrective procedures in the future, should I need them. Everyones eyes age and even with corrective surgery, you might need reading glasses in the future, but you also might not. I felt very comfortable with the plan and all the details of each appointment, what I needed to do, and outcomes were thoroughly explained. I had my surgery a few days following Christmas when work was slower and I could easily take the time off to recover. The surgery itself was very quick - it only took about 3 minutes per eye and it was painless. Immediately following surgery the results were amazing. We went over my post-op procedures for recovery again and what steps I needed to take while I recover. Dr Maboudi said if anything seems wrong or off, to give her a call. It was reassuring to know that if something went wrong, it was easy to get in touch with her. If you get PRK, it isnt immediate results like LASIK because of how the eye grows back. Because Dr Maboudi explained everything that would happen and how long recover should take, I felt I was extremely prepared for the post-op experience. I still have a few more follow up appointments but I highly recommend Griffin & Reed if you are considering corrective eye surgery. The staff I worked with were all very friendly and the few times I reached out for questions, I was able to get those questions answered quickly. I am still amazed at how well I can see, considering how bad my eyes were prior to surgery. One thing to add is, Dr Maboudi was my Dr for every appointment. Ive read that some places you only see the surgeon for the procedure. Being able to work with Dr Maboudi for each appointment as well as the surgery made for a very calm, trusting and easy experience.

I had my surgery yesterday with Dr.Kim my vision is already 50 times better. The office gave me clear instructions for after care, and Dr. Kim even called me himself to check on me. I had my first follow consult this morning it was quick and painless . Dr. Kim wanted to make sure no infection was forming. I will go back this Friday and then again in one month for my final visit.

Just got LASIK done yesterday, and today I can see even better than I did with contacts or glasses. Dr Kim did an amazing job! Best money Ive ever spent!

EDIT: Brad responded to my complaint within minutes and contacted the staff and was able to get me within a half hour.I had an amazing doctor, Guy, who also made me feel much better about the whole ordeal and then the woman who helped me pick out my frames was wonderful as well.Credit where credit is due to handling a complaint the proper way. I understand that human error happens but it wasn’t originally addressed in a manner that I thought was appropriate and I’m not convinced that my problem would have been solved had I not left reviews everywhere trying to get someone to help. I’m leaving the original review for integrity but this company did demonstrate that they will go above and beyond for you and it’s only fair that I update my review to reflect that.Leaving the original review for integrity——————-I called and booked an appointment a week in advance and confirmed my date and time. They even told me Id be seeing the same doctor as last time. When I arrived, they could not find my appointment in the system despite the fact that my information was indeed updated since I had moved since my last visit so it was clear the error was on their end. Instead of making it right for me, they told me I could wait in the waiting room for who knows how long because its not a scheduled appointment (even though I did have one and someone on their end messed it up) and so thats where I currently am where I could be waiting for up to 4 hours due to their error.I recommend finding a place that values their clients more than this for yourself.

Dr Reed and his staff are wonderful. Kind, Efficient, Professional, & Caring.I highly recommend them to anyone who may be thinking of Lasik surgery. If you are thinking of doing it, this is the place to go.I have had to wear thick glasses all my life and I cant believe I was scared to do it. I recently had Lasik eye surgery by Dr Kim at Griffin & Reed. It really hit me when they started the procedure how glad I was that I was having it done by people whose top priority is patient care. Your eyes are worth it! I ask a lot of questions and everyone there was very patient and helpful. Dr Kim has a great reputation and it was very reassuring to have him as my surgeon.

I had mono-vision LASIK surgery Dec. 2013 performed by Dr. Reed and it went absolutely fantastic. Dr. Reed was wonderful in his explanation of it all from my first appointment to the two follow-up appointments Ive had thus far. I knew that he had a great reputation for this surgery and I felt complete confidence in having him as my surgeon. I was nervous during the surgery but Dr. Reed and the two assistants were so kind and caring during the procedure (which didnt take long at all).After 40 years of wearing contacts, I couldnt wear them any longer due to dry eye syndrome, and hated wearing glasses. So glad that I finally got the courage to have the surgery, and I thank Dr. Reed for his great care.

I appreciated very much being given an immediate appointment for what appeared to be an emergency; courteous and professional. However the ordering of the frames was a problem as the manufacturer kept putting them on back-order. There should be more communication between the manufacturer and the optical department so that unforeseen wait-times can be avoided

They made the financing process super easy through CareCredit and were very thorough in assessing my vision and eye condition before surgery. Their professionalism made me very comfortable and pleased with the service and deal I got. Dr. Kim (the miracle worker) advised that I opt for PRK and walked me through the pros and cons of the procedure, patiently answering all my questions. They actually were honest. I knew my eyes would never be 20/20 and we discussed Lasik - they made sure I knew I would not get to 20/20 but explained where they believed they could get me. They far exceeded my expectations. I have good vision and only need readers when reading something really small - the rest of the time I no longer user glasses.

Wow! My experience here was exceptional. The staff was kind, patient and thorough. They answered all my questions and addressed my concerns with care and attention. The LASIK procedure itself was less than 5 minutes. It was weird, but not painful. The staff walked me through every step. I went from 20/250 to 20/15 and possibly will see 20/10 within the next day ofhealing. So grateful for Dr. Reed and the LASIK staff.

I wanted whichever doctor I chose to not only give me results but to take the time to personalize everything for me. I could not have had a better experience than my experience at Griffin and Reed yesterday. But, it wasnt just yesterday. It is every time I go there.When I schedule an appointment, I deal with Jami. She gets the appointments scheduled so that my wife and I can go at the same time. She makes sure that all of the details are covered.When we arrive, we are checked in quickly. Someone is always there to greet us. At the time of the visit, the staff is friendly and caring. The doctors know what they are doing, make recommendations like getting contacts or Lasik, but also know when things like Lasik may not work for a patient.The optical department takes the time to explain the options for your glasses. They explain what frames work or do not work for you and why. They then make recommendations for lenses, including fog free lenses or Transitions lenses. I trust their advice.Yesterday, I went in for scratches on my lenses. I again was checked in quickly. Melissa came over to help me. She was fantastic. She smiled and was friendly. I explained the problem and she asked questions to clarify. She made sure she understood my concerns. She came up with a plan to fix my issues and explained it to me, along with giving me a time frame. She then recommended I have a back up pair of glasses (which I will be getting). I could not have asked for better service than Melissa gave me.I highly recommend Griffin and Reed. I refer my friends there and trust them. You should check them out as well.

Researched several lasik locations in Sacramento/Roseville and this was the only place where you get to meet and consult with your surgeon prior to and after the day of surgery.As an added bonus the people working at this office are super nice. The place is clean and the equipment/technology was the most advanced that I had seen compared to the other places.

After 10 years of wearing glasses, I never thought that LASIK would be able to transform my life so much. My vision was transformed from -2.75 to 20/15 (better than 20/20) after the surgery and I am still learning to be attentive to the great details my eyes have been missing out on. The procedure was fairly harmless and did not require The clinic is very clean and organized. The staff knows what they are doing and are very helpful with patients who are nervous about their eyes (yes, I was one of those squinters) Dr. Mabuti was very nice and performed the surgery ideally. I could not have asked for a better doctor or service from an eye clinic.

Everyone was professional and courteous. Dr. Reed is impossible to dislike. I would recommend this place to anybody, and my only regret is not going sooner!

I live in the Bay Area and decided to come to Griffin and Reed for LASIK due to the fact that it was cheaper than anything in the Bay (and Im originally from Sacramento so it was convenient when I would come to visit my parents).Dr. Maboudi was absolutely wonderful and made me feel 100% secure with the entire process not only answering all of my questions, but making sure I picked the process that was appropriate and would yield great results as opposed to just picking the more expensive option.The entire surgery itself took about 15 minutes for both eyes and recovery time wasnt bad at all. Eyes were severely dry that first week and gradually improved over 3 months, now I rarely use the eye drops. But I would say that my eyes are (slightly) drier than I remember them pre-surgery. My surgery was in late December so Im still in the recovery phase, but I couldnt have asked for a better experience!
