This place is a very interesting little shop. The waitresses are friendly, and the milkshakes are fantastic here! However, the chipotle garden burger fell short of expectations for the following reasons. First, it was not an actual burger but a sandwich. Secondly, the meat inside the burger was good but it can be odd to a person that is not used to eating that style of patty. My personal suggestions for milkshakes are the mocha almond fudge and the blackberry marble.

They say they are open until 3 today but they wont make a sandwich up until 3 pm.. Disappointed in this kinda management style and no this is not a Karen move.. Drove 15 miles to come here today.***on a good note the malted milkshake was bomb..

They have the best home made ice cream. The seasonal flavors are excellent. The butter brittle is the best my whole family fights over this one. The pre packed half gallons are $10 but they are worth it. This is better than Baskin Robbins and Gunthers Ice Cream. I inly wish that they were open more than 4 hours 3 days a week. The only thing is the cartons that the ice cream comes in they tear very easily so you have to be very careful.

Vic’s Ice Cream is a Land Park icon. Been here since the 30’s. They have the best cookies and cream ice cream I know of. I’ve heard Gunther’s is good too but never tried it. I also love Vic’s Cafe that’s now connected to it and just next door. They have great pastries from a local bakery brought in every day.If you’re in the area you definitely need to try out Vic’s!!! Locally owned and operated!

Casual older soda ice cream sandwich place same as it was in the 40s. Home made ice cream and HUGE shakes if you eat inside. A bit expensive maybe but it is located in a wealthy area and it is all good tasty foods and treats. Street parking can be easy or just impossible depending on how busy they are. Well worth the effort to have a treat here.

Decent ice cream place since the 1940s, but nothing too exceptional. They have standard flavors with some niche ones, like Mocha and Fresh Strawberry. I was irritated that I ordered a rocky road but barely received any marshmallows and nuts, so that was unfortunate. But the associate helping me was friendly and patient, making up for the missing flavor. The portions they give are fairly large, so you get your moneys worth. The atmosphere is classic and roomy, and they have options for meals if youre interested. As an ice cream place, Im going to quote my significant other (who was enamored by the cookies and creme): Its good, but I wouldnt go out of my way to come back.

If you like ice cream and good old fashioned service you will have to experience Vics ice cream. Even the sandwiches are delicious and come with chips or other condiments if you like. Located towards the southside of town parking can be challenging during peak hours mostly due to their popularity. This place has been in business for many years and has ice cream to go if you want to bring a container home with you. The old fashioned chocolate sodas are reminiscent of time ago and you will undoubtedly want to make this a place on your go to list of favorite restaurants in Sacramento.

Not impressed. went there with my boyfriend, my sister and her boyfriend. they said if we want to eat there we can sit and they will serve us. so we sat at a booth. we ordered 2 banana splits and a coffee. our waiter told us its probably better to get coffee next door. we also ordered a soda that we never got. and i asked for the whip cream and nuts on the side which i had to ask for again, then he only brought the nuts. i looked over and our waiter was just standing there on his phone. the banana in the split was rotten and gross. the vanilla ice cream did not taste like ice cream it had a weird texture, not sure why. not going there again.

This is a classic, old school, ice cream shop. The friendly young people working there, serve up generous scoops of delicious ice cream, while you watch. And, if you can find a table, you can order other various items from their food menu. (I was just there for the first time, myself.) When you get there, you will have to find someplace to park on the street. They do not have a parking lot.

I was wondering when I came to Sacto Is Vics still open ? The answer is yes. I remember Vics 25th Anniversary. I was going to McClatchy at the time. We would always go to Vics after school. Then go to William Land Park sometimes. I live in San Francisco now. No Vics there . Vics is better than Gunthers by far. Better quality.

Today was my first time at Vics. The shop itself looks like an older style (think going to ice cream with Grandpa in 1980) and has a warm feeling to it. There are many choices of foods, drinks and of course, ice cream. The staff were welcoming and professional. I went with the thick strawberry shake and it was amazing (it reminded me of a strawberry shake that I tasted at - if I remember correctly - Leatherbys. It was amazing and I think the price was fair (about 1.50 for a small cup). All in all, I enjoyed the shake!

Vics is an institution - a Sacramento landmark going back, well, a heckuva long way. They create great seasonal flavors, so the menu changes about four times a year. They have grilled sandwiches and lots of options on the menu but my daughter & I drove 15 miles today to have a sandwich & shake and they closed the grill 15 minutes before closing at 3. Ive lived in Land Park for about 7 years and have gone to Vics many times for work. When comparing Vics to Gunthers in Curtis Park, Gunthers wins by *far*. Vics needs to step it up. They are staffed by very young, unfriendly servers. The blonde man who works there during the day never smiles. He makes me uncomfortable. I cannot say anything good about this place except the quality of the ice cream. The place is not the cleanest. Come on Vics, you can do better.
