In 1988 in added a sun room to my house that included 16 Milgard bronze tinted, tempered windows with a lifetime warranty. Two years ago one of the windows began fogging up between the panes and Milgard replaced it at no charge to me. Last week, under the heat wave Sacramento is experiencing, that same windows outer pane suddenly cracked and shattered. I called Milgard about it, spoke with their rep named Lexi, and was told the original warranty doesnt handle the glass breakage. So Im stuck paying for a new window even though their latest and greatest product failed. All the other 35 year old windows are fine.To make it worse, Lexi sent me a list of five local Milgard dealers that would fix my window. I called them all. None handle glass replacement. What horrible customer service. I also asked that Lexi send me the specs on the window they replaced in July 2019 so I could get quotes over the phone. She sent me the data, but left off one important spec, which was the space between the dual panes.Her attitude was very poor and she was combative. I recommend using another company, as my neighbors have had similar issues with Milgards service representatives.

We purchased over $60,000 worth of Milgard windows for a full home renovation. The installation company was wonderful, however our experience with the service department has been horrendous. Clearly this is not an isolated incident as you can see by the other negative reviews.I was hung up on by a service rep and told to call back when youre having a better day. The audacity to speak to a customer who spent this kind of money is beyond me. I have been involved in numerous renovation projects and never once have I come across a supplier who allowed employees to speak to customers like this. We will never purchase a Milgard window again in our life for this reason alone. What a shame.

I have 7 milgard sliding doors on my rebuilt house. One has a pin that has slid down and I cannot figure out how to adjust it. I called for technical support and they tell me they dont have technical support. Try the web site or fill out a service request. It is inconceivable that they will not answer repair questions.

Perhaps the worst customer service Ive come across when dealing with a defect in our Milgard windows. From the time they answered the phone (absolutely snot) to the absolutely snotty replys of the service dept.. the paying customer is treated like dirt. Absolutely no help. Had dealings in the past and all records/ replacement was handled. Now..absolutely no help at all. Time for some new help over the phone.

The service tech, Webber, was on time. He worked efficiently and carefully to replace the failed window and lubricated our sliding door. He answered all my questions and explained the entire process. He completed the work within an hour. We are completely impressed and satisfied.

In June, 2020 we filed a warranty claim with Milgard for replacing 15 of our windows (that were under the lifetime warranty). There was condensation between the double panes.A few weeks later I was given a contact who would handle the claim. I followed all of the requirements to submit the details. By the way, the contact was not polite and condescending.I found a different support person and she was professional. She scheduled a date that the work would be done, Sept 10th, between 7-4. We were required to prepare the windows for the appt by taking down the screens and the window coverings. This took us time, tools, etc. We had to arrange for someone to be at the house on that (mid-week) day because it is our ski cabin.At 8 am on Sept 10th, I got a call that no one would be coming since none of the replacement windows had been ordered yet. They said that the appt. was rescheduled to Nov. 17th. I was not happy and asked for a followup call from the manager. Nobody followed up.A week before the 11/17 appt. we called Milgard to make sure that they had all the materials. At first they said that they were missing one piece, then they said all materials were ready.We have taken down all of the window coverings and arranged for someone to be at the cabin for this midweek appt. Today, two days before the appt. Milgard called to cancel the appt. They would not give me a reschedule date.Also, I am unable to talk with anyone in management to get any kind of answer. Its a nightmare. We have no leverage. They are doing everything to slow down the process. The management is terribly unprofessional in all departments. I have heard from receptionist a tip to call early or they wont answer the phones, another rep said the manager is not working today and there is no backup, and a supervisor said the manager was out because, well, you know, its Friday.The excuses are family emergency, COVID, unprecedented times, this is just happening to you, a series of unfortunate events. I would say to anyone who is buying these windows because of the advertised warranty, Dont buy it. The windows have faults and if you cant get it fixed you will just be replacing them in 10-15 years. All your money down the drain!

The technician arrived ahead of schedule--which in this case was a Good Thing. He completed the job to our total satisfaction within fifteen minutes. When we purchased what at the time was a brand-new condo 23 years ago, we had no idea what good care Milgard would continue to provide us after so long. Were fortunate to have bought our home when the lifetime warranty for the owners at the time the windows were installed was in place. Weve told everyone we know about what great windows and great service Milgard provides.

Our new windows were delivered with bowed casings and did not work as expected. There was no immediate technical support available or offered to us. The lack of support means that our windows are hard to open and our only recourse is to have new operating windows made that are smaller than the originals.We live and are building in a remote, rural location. The windows were delivered by truck from three and a half hours away, seemingly in good condition. Our installer is an experienced builder who has installed hundreds of Milgard windows. None of the windows worked smoothly once they were installed, the stops were uneven, and we couldnt get the single hung windows out to inspect them.We called the showroom where we ordered and bought the windows. They took the complaints and said they would report the problems to Milgard, which they did. We wanted to make sure that we could finish trimming out the windows and installing the siding, in other words, to keep working on the house. Yes, we were told, a Milgard technician can fix things after the fact.Six weeks later a very nice man came to see what he could do for us. The windows are working a bit better but not as smoothly as we expected from Milgard. He claimed that the problem was in the installation and showed me the bowed side rails. He explained how the problem could have been addressed at installation. My complaint is that having this information on installation day would have made big difference. Now it is too late to correct the problem. The house is perfectly square and plumb. The windows were bowed from the factory.Milgard and their distributors need to coordinate technical support to builders for immediate reference. In phone call with a Milgard tech, our builder could have corrected the factory problem and we would have easy operating windows.

The servicemen was on time and completed the work in a very professional manner. He left my rooms clean and everything looks like new. I could not suggest anything that could be improved. I remodeled my home 14 years ago and replaced all the windows with Milgard. Now two windows have failed seals with splotchy smears all over the inside. After multiple phones calls to them over two months I have gotten a case number and absolutely no satisfaction or action. Every person I have spoken with has been rude and unhelpful. I dont think they have any intention of honoring their lifetime guarantee. Dont use this company or these windows!

My ten year old dual pane windows had begun to smudge in between the glass. I called in September, It took a while to get through and get a response because of some computer problems within the company but when they did respond I had an order for repair with about a two month wait, but they contacted me and we had an appointment the day after Christmas and they gave a two hour time block and were here and out in that time and I am very satisfied!! I can now see out the windows clearly and I am very satisfied. Thank you.

Installers were excellent swapping the glass, they knew what they were doing and were very quick! The quality of the window is less than I had before. The insulation or end cap between the glass is squeezing beyond the plastic caps so now when you look at the window it looks like it crooked on one side.

Glen was early and although the handles he was sent were the incorrect color he did change out the old ones and replace with newly designed ones. He said he would have the rest of the replacements sent to me and I could also change out to the correct color when I get them. He was very knowledgeable and efficient.

The Milgard repair team was prompt (actually were 1 hr early to my home). Id called Milgard to report that one of my sliding doors was producing a little grinding noise when opening and closing the door. They repaired not only the sliding door that Id called about, but also brought materials to repair a second Milgard sliding door that I had in my house that I didnt think needed repairs (but it did).Ive had Milgard doors and windows installed in my home for more that 17 years and purchased them with the lifetime warranty. And now, more than 17 years later, the doors have been restored to their original functionality at no cost to me. They slide open beautifully by using just one finger to open and close them. As for the windows, Ive never had an issue with them and they still look as good as the day they were installed.I am more than satisfied with the Milgard products in our home. I would have given 5 stars but they had to come out 2 times as the person I originally talked to wrote down that one of the windows that needed to be replaced had frosted glass (for the bathroom), when this wasnt the case. Then it took 6 weeks for them to come back out and replace it with the correct window. They are always here when they say they will be and are in and out fast. Had to get four 16-year old panes replaced - seals leaked on those hit by HOT California sun... it was always the stationary pane that leaked - installer says the screen reduces heat on the slider. It was easy to measure them (shows how on a video), place order (the rep had record of shading and they matched), and they give reminder notice two days before coming out. Installer was a pro, fast, and cleaned up small mess. Great windows and great service. Id recommend Milgard to anyone.

I had my whole house re-windowed in 2003 by Milgard. In 2018, three of the windows started to show signs of moisture inside, so with a lifetime guarantee to the original owner I called and they still had my original information (size) and within 2 weeks a technician was at my house and had them replaced within about 1.5 hours..NO QUESTIONS ASKED...BOOM! I first purchased my Milgard Windows in 2002. I had two windows that had lost their seal. I called Milgard and the first man who was sent to my home was very professional. He measured the two windows in question and also checked out all the remaining windows to be sure they were ok.He placed the order for the new windows.A couple weeks later, the installers arrived with my replacement windows. Again the workers were very professional. This time the workers were Juan and Jose. They worked quietly and quickly and in less than an hour the replacement windows were installed.

Great installation service by Tim; timely arrival, perfect workmanship, and clean...as if no one was ever there and everything just like new. Sacramento office was good at scheduling appointments and keeping this active until all issues resolved. The only reason for 4, rather than 5, stars is that it took two attempts, and 3 visits before the correct parts were in procured. Tim explained our 3 panel slider is different from the current design and that was the reason for unfamiliarity (by technicians other than himself I might add); hence, the earlier incorrect ordering and subsequent delay. Overall though, leaving the timing for the parts aside, we are totally pleased with the experience. Thank you Tim, and the Sacramento crew, for a job well done...you are all experts in your field.

There will be times when there needs to be an adjustment etc to windows after they have been installed. Have had Milgard service reps come out and in all cases the rep was professional, courteous and fixed the issue. I would always have Milgard windows knowing they will take care of any issues.

UNPROFESSIONAL. I ordered Milgard replacement windows through Lowes. About a month later I got a call from Milgard wanting to deliver my order the next day between 11-12. Well, not very convenient since I work during the day, and only one day notice, but I say I can make it work since I wasnt given a choice. I take vacation time and wait. No one shows up. At 12 I call the Milgard dispatch. They call the driver to find out where he is. Im on hold over 5 minutes. Dispatch comes back, says driver is driving so they didnt answer the phone (why did it take 5 minutes if didnt talk to anyone?). Fine. I go back to work. I get a call at 1 from a delivery guy wanting to schedule since I missed the delivery. Now, the guy on the phone had to relay everything I said to someone else, so there were at least 2 people in the truck. So the whole driver didnt answer because they were driving sounds like a lie to me. Is the guy that drives the only one allowed to answer the phone? I was quick to point out that I didnt miss the delivery, I was there from 11-12. After conferring with the guy #2, guy #1 insisted they were there between 11-12. That is obviously a lie, because; A) I was there at the time they told me to be there, and B) I went back and looked at the security camera footage. They were there at 9:26am. So, Milgard delivery personal lied, and I suspect the dispatcher did as well. I have spent thousands on replacement windows, but apparently thats not enough to be treated with respect by Milgard. Stuff happens, I get it, but dont lie to your customer.

I want to be specific why I did not award five stars for the Milgard service we just received. It was not the service. Fabian was great. He had our problem window back to original condition in a heartbeat. My only negative is the scheduling of his visit to our home. The office staff is courteous but not able to schedule the technicians in a timely manner. Two months seems to be the norm. I find that excessive. There is a lot of building being conducted in our area and I would think Milgard would have a say in what windows go in the new homes. However, if asked I would relate the above.

Well, 4 of our 11 Milgard windows got moisture between the glass during the rains of early 2017. Not long there after I called Milgard to report the problem and ask for replacements. The long and the short of it is that the windows were replaced today 5 March 2018 one year later. They did replace them but why did it take a whole year? The installers did a good job but did not have any touch up paint for the window trim where it was damaged in the removal and installation.

The only caveat I have (and why there are not 5 stars) is that it was left for me to clean the grime that came from the old window and the framing and vacuum up the dirt particles left on the floor from its removal.

Warranty service is absolutely impossible. Requested service via online over a month ago, no reply. Customer service phone number is a total joke. I have call the customer service number multiple time, on hold 40 minutes with zero callers ahead and this disconnected, this happed twice. I emailed to try to follow up on my case, no reply. I left message on the customer service line, no reply. I have a casement window that will not close. It has been over a month since I requested service and I still do not have an appointment. Absolutely terrible customer service!!!!

One of my patio doors came without the blinds that I ordered. Got a hold of Milgard, they scheduled within a few weeks. Gave me 6 hour window at first, but a few days before the appointment they emailed with a 2 hour window. Much better. They were on time, fast and clean! Thanks!Full disclosure; I work for a siding & window company that sells Milgard, but I am a customer as well. The service people did not know this.

I am Very satisfied with the warranty service provided by Milgard. Workers showed up within the 2 hr window, were prompt and efficient, and cleaned up after their work was done. I had to wait longer than desired to be scheduled for the visit, but all in all not a big inconvenience. Its great that Milgard continues to back up their products.

Called in for a service request about our leaking retrofit Milgard windows. Our appointment was at 12 pm and he came around 10:30 am which was perfect. He was courteous and respectful. As for the leaky Milgard windows, Milgard needs to do a better job with their quality control in the factory. New retrofit windows should not be leaking. The serviceman fixed it with caulking.

This company is wonderful in the service department, as far as replacing any windows that lose their seal. But the service crew should really carry a portable, handheld vacuum, to clean up after the job. Every time, I have had to drag out the vacuum to clean up after them.
