If you need cables,power supplies, and other electronic equipment and parts. This is a place to go. They also have a vast supply of electric testing equipment on hand. Its a bit cluttered but organized enough to find what youre looking for.

Needed a 1N4005 diode and they had them in stock. Tried several stores in the Sac area trying to find one. Friendly service too.

Dropped computer off to have cpu installed and after 4 days they had computer they couldn’t or didn’t have time to put it in .I picked my computer up on the 4 th day, they might have parts you need . But dont ever take something for them to fix it install

This place is a treasure trove for the tinkerer, or anyone who works with electronics and computers. The owner is a great guy and is about as laid back as one can be. Be prepared to spend a good deal of time wandering the aisles, as this place is packed with stuff, and most of the time its not labeled. This is one of my favorite placed to just stop and browse, because I will often find something random that will be perfect in an upcoming project.

Its always rad and fascinating to visit Alis Surplus Stuff and have a look around at the merchandise in there. I am a tech nerd, so i kinda dig archaic and obsolete tech and the apparatuses which made prior tech possible. You can literally find oscilloscopes, geiger counters, Sony Betamax machines & editors, turntables, wireless microphones, enclosures for portable or desktop hard drives, refurbished computers, home audio systems, P.A.s, teletype machines, used modular audio effects processing & modeling units, peripheral devices for your home or office, all manner of networking hardware, used servers, old medical monitoring equipment, and sometimes you might find stuff here which NASA no longer uses! They have a constantly evolving inventory of all kinds of crazy machines, and one never knows what they might find. Myself, Im secretly hoping someone discards an old Moog, because, since i live in the neighborhood, that Moog WILL be mine... Mwahahaha!

This is definitely one of the last hold out electronic stores around! With Frys on its way out ( my own theory ) and Radio Shack gone its nice to be able to get computer parts the same day.

Recycled electronics. Its what you imagine it to be. Rows and rows of retired electronic parts. Microscopes to microphones. They have it all. Unfortunately if you are looking for a specific part, youll most likely need to disassemble something to get to it. Not much is sorted. Although there are some bins of common items like resistors and mosfets. Its just about the only place in Sacramento where you can buy electronic components now days. Its worth spending a few dollars to keep them in business.

Not what I expected. Not their fault thought. I should have better researched this business. Not a place for CB stuff.. it came up in a search but tons of used electronic devices, computers, cables of almost every type.

On 01/15, they had trucks and a sign out front saying they were moving.

Oscar the grouch would flip his lid here! Lots to look through if you like tinkering with vintage electronics or building computers. Prices can be fluid on some things which is a huge ++++ and the owners are super cool.

This place is great! I came looking for some parts to build a computer for a school project and the everyone there was very knowledgeable and helpful. They answered all the questions I had & helped me find the components that I needed. The store itself had every part you could ever need, various cables/wires, etc. I would definitely check it out even if you arent all that tech-savvy - theyre willing to help you look for what you need.

Ive been going to this store for years. Im electrical/electronics engineering and a tinkerer. Ive found odd ball items fo my odd projects for years from Ali. He always worked with you and was completely fair. Truly a unique part store in Sacramento.Now Saeed is running the shop. Ive dealt with him several times now, and he has been reasonable and fair to deal with like Ali. His stock remains similar and just as handy! Keep it up!

The computer repair is very fair and reasonable. Where the major retailers charge for a diagnostic they fixed it for that. Plus what ever parts needed. I strongly recommend you go to Alis for computer repair and customization.

This store is a reason to live in Sacramento. Even if you are not a computer junkie, you need to see this place. Power supply for a laptop? Got it! Any imaginable cable known to man? Got it! You want to check here before you purchase anything you need electronically. Dont be like everybody else and pay top dollar for something Ali will have for half the price. Oh, and the best part? The knowledge and customer service is as if you walked into your local hardware store in 1955. Anybody who knows what I mean by saying this gives you plenty of reason alone to go to this place. I just moved back to Sacramento from the bay area and Surplus Stuff was a visit I looked forward to making before I had even finished unpacking the truck.

For what it is, it is probably one of the best around. The owners seem friendly too. However, prices can be better on certain products. But for the most part they are cheap given their diverse selection. Somewhat oudated products but that is to be expected. Lots of random components. Worth a visit if youre a hobbyist.

2 months ago i gave my iMac 27” to Surplus Store to get repaired. Working great for about 20 min then it would shut down. Rachid said it was a easy fix. It took 2 months. I got it back with the screen wires ripped apart and put a used video card came with a 2 gig that salvaged my good working parts to a low 1 gig. Very Bad Customer Service. 2 months to tell me they don’t know how to fix it. I took it to another shop right after i picked it up. They took it apart in front if me and i saw and took photos of ripped and burnt video card. Worst company “tech” guys out there Be Aware. They will salvage your computer parts to fix theres and turn around try and sell it on you after they tell you they cant fix it.That is not how you run a business first of all second. If you cant fix something dont guarantee someone you can. Will never go here again for anything.

Alis Surplus Stuff is probably my favorite store ever!! The shop is basically divided into two major sections -- computer related stuff on one side and electronic test equipment on the other. They also do computer repair here. I am in to old computers and I always manage to find something old, odd and interesting every time I visit. Its so easy to spend more time than you anticipated here! One important thing about this store... the prices you see for most stuff is negotiable when you buy a lot.

Great selection of all sorts of surplus electronics and tech equipment. Monitors, mice, relays, solenoids, switches, mysterious boards and boxes with dials on them, motors, wires, sometimes a big laser or something. An inspiration and source for many of my projects.

Great prices but am surprised that it has lasted for over a decade in that area, maybe Rancho Cordova isnt as much of a slum down there as I heard.

Wow, what an interesting place! This place has everything you need from vintage electronics vintage computers, computer parts, new and used computers, and Apple products, I Mac, iPad and iPhones. If you are a computer or electronics enthusiasts/hobbyist this is the place for you. I think this is the only one of its kind in the Sacramento area. The guys Who work there are very cool and knowledgeable. Some of the items they have there seem like they are coming from a vintage computer museum. Very interesting stuff. They also do a computer repair and security camera system installation.

Needed a power supply for my Prusa I3 and they had a huge bin of used PC power supplies. I found a Dell model matching the amperage I needed, they tested it and $12 later I had a working unit for my printer. Definitely a great place to visit and a truly unique place for the area.

These guys are super wonderful. I went in with a problem (I thought) on my laptop, I was helped, it turned out the problem was something that was fixed in a second. They did not try to sell me anything I did not need. I did buy some things, one to maintain the laptop and the other for storage, but not one second did they try to sell me, in fact they told me I could always come and buy it later. Ths is my second time in this store--I think they are wonderful, if you need technical stuff or advise, this is the place to go.

I love this place! It has mostly electronic surplus items but there are some interesting other items at times. For instance I have picked up riot helmets, hazard suits and a robot there. The last time I was there there just got in 4 pallets of vacuum pumps. The guys that run the place are super awsome dudes. They have always been fair amd kind to me.

Went here to pick up forty keyboards and mice. Sacramento doesnt have many places like this, and this one is the best. They had server power supplies and just about everything I needed to get my LAN center off the ground.

As far as I know its the last of its kind in Sacramento. If you are an electronics hobbyist, tinkerer, professional, looking for specialty function equipment, or into industrial cold war era looking electronic devices with big knobs and dials then you should at least stop in at least once to look around. Just make sure you have an hour or more to look through everything because there is a lot to search through.Pricing is very reasonable, competitive (if not better pricing than even online stores) and most things they are willing to negotiate price on. Everyone there is open and friendly and willing to help find what you are looking for or just chat about electronics.Products I remember from my recent visit: Desktop computers, power supplies (desktop/server), hard drives, RAM, printers and toner, rack switches (fiber & ethernet), wall power supplies, computer and rack fans of every size, industrial signal generators and testing equipment (even some gas/chemical analyzers), transformers of varying size and inputs/outputs, wiring and connectors for a wide range of uses, I even found some small pneumatic and hydraulic actuators.The list could go on but in short, if youve been scouring thrift stores on online auctions for electronics equipment to buy and/or tear apart look here first. Youll be surprised at what youll find.
