Took in a camera for cleaning. The employee that helped us was really nice and had a great sense of humor. They still have my camera so I cant tell you how well they did with it but I will post about that when I get it back

Maybe they’re OK for selling cameras and providing common photo services, but the two times I’ve gone there for slightly less ordinary work the results weren’t good.Recently I had them scan a few old slides to disc. The price was cheap, but it took 4 days instead of the 2 they told me, and the scans were overexposed and heavily cropped. The disc also wouldn’t read on my Mac, but it did open on my Windows laptop.And a few years ago when they took my photo for a foreign document, the result was out of focus and printed at the wrong size.Both times I didn’t have time to ask them to try again and I ended up doing it myself - and I learned a little in the process.

Amazing place! Very helpful staff. If they dont know something - which is uncommon - they find out. They have a good selection of gear and film. Its overall never been anything but a good experience going in there!

I love it.I come here to rent cameras. They give you a really good weekend deal where you get it from Friday to Monday for the price of one day. I wish they would rent out GoPros though that would be amazing. Theyre always super friendly and will work with you to give you discounts and stuff. please be advised though the deposit for the cameras is pretty steep at 300 +...

I could not be happier with the service I have received from Shutterbug Camera. Yes, you can buy your equipment from Amazon or some other online retailer but you wont have the same service that they can provide and they have comparable prices as well. For instance, I preordered a camera and was put on a waiting list from Amazon. Two months passed and delivery day came only to be told by Amazon that my order was pushed back ANOTHER TWO MONTHS. I canceled my order at Amazon called Linda and had my new camera two days later!

I came in yesterday to pickup my A7iii and some gear after speaking to Mazda on the phone. Everyone here was amazing, very friendly and willing to show me and answer questions around anything I inquired about. On top of that, I got a GREAT deal and I’m very happy. I’ll be back for all of my future camera equipment.

Super nice people and helpful! Mazda, the store manager, quickly diagnosed the issue with my digital camera for free. He was sincere and helpful. Also, they do prints of old disposable cameras for super cheap! What a gem!

Have not had a bad experience shopping with them yet. The calendars took a little longer, but the quality is top notch. The amazing thing that they have is a drive through with a car full of kids makes getting prints and orders amazing.

I cant begin to put into words how incredible my experience with Shutterbug has been. I bought a lens from the Eugene shop in early 2019 and had a great experience. Today, I went into the Salem location looking for a specific lens. I should have called ahead of time (but obviously that didnt happen). I worked with Linda. She called a few other stores and found the very last one they had. She said they could have it for me by the end of the day if I wanted to come back. I explained I didnt live close enough to drive back today and I was hoping to use it tomorrow. Linda told me she could deliver it to me after work because she lives closer to me than I do the store. GUYS. She drove down, after work on a FRIDAY, and met me in the mall parking lot with the lens! I cant express how grateful I am to her and the rest of the staff at Shutterbug. I will ALWAYS support small, local businesses, especially when the customer service goes above and beyond to help. I 110% recommend all photos services through Shutterbug.

This is a very small store for all things they carry. They Also develope film here if you do that.

I LOVE this place. The staff there is incredibly kind and knowledgable. They answered tons of random questions and helped me find the equipment thatis right for me without trying to convince me that I needed something better or more expensive. They even let me try out some lenses on my camera in the store to check out. They now have a loyal customer out of me.

Started off going here to support small business and quickly regretted it. Its like going into a car dealership. The staff wont leave you alone the entire time you shop and are constantly trying to get you to spend more. One employee badgered me for 35 minutes while I was just looking at lenses. They have great products but terrible service. I would love to support them as a local business, but will not be returning until they respect their customers.

I was Greeted by one Gentlemen who I knew who would have been excellent already guided me down the right path of what I was in the market for after giving a brief synopsis of what brought me into the store for the first time. Very welcoming name eludes me but thank you man.I needed time to fester the new information obtained from the first Employee after sometime and further pondering over new items and accessories (I know nothing about cameras so all of the items were new to me). But another Employee came in and introduced himself asked if I needed help. His Name was David, he oicked up right where the first guy left off, physically demonstrated not just explained the product I considered purchasing, was well spoken and did a wonderful job of not only showing off that product but willingly and without any sign of not wanting to provide good customer service continued to explain the value of the items I needed, teaching me about my camera along the way. After checking out and purchasing a series of items at a reasonable price I told him about my trip and had asked him if he could look at my camera and teach me some of its functions. He did, even set my camera to work with the type of photos I’ll be wanting to take for my upcoming trip. It was just an excellent experience and I didn’t mind one bit spending my money there.

Sales people have always been courteous and helpful! Ive had help updating firmware on my camera which took at least a half hour or more, when finished there was no charge. Yes, they are a little more expensive, but they are a specialty shop with expertise so it may cost a little more than K-Mart! The information you get is from a good source.

Mazda is great! Not only is he friendly, but he is knowledgeable with the products. He is also more than willing to share his own experiences within the photography field, whether youre an amateur or an experienced photographer. If you want a good idea of what to look for, ask for this guy. Its not all about the sale with him. He wont leave a bitter taste in your mouth like a car salesman will.

Great owners who are always helpful. Recently I had to get passport pictures for a student team I was sending overseas but we needed 4 copies because of the two nations we where going to. They helped us out not only in getting us in on short notice to take 15 pictures but only charged us the normal price but gave us 4 for each person. Staff are also highly knowledgeable in regards to equipment and gear.

I went to this shop last week for some information and help with my new sony a7rii. They spent a half hour just going through settings with me to help me better utilize my equipment. They were astoundingly friendly and helpful. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for equipment, advice, and just an all out wonderful experience with their customer service staff.

Walking into The Shutterbug I was reminded that kind and genuine retail employees still exist. Last week I watched the mount piece to my manfrotto tripod roll off a bridge in slow motion hell right in the middle of en evening shoot. I anticipated that finding that part could pose as a challenge. Called up The Shutterbug and THEY HAD IT!!! David and Mazda are extremely sweet and you can tell they love what they do. I came in the store with the intention to purchase my first DSLR camera. There were 2 staff members and one customer in the store at the time. I asked specifically for the cannon t5 and the I was promptly interrupted with Its not in stock. When I asked about price and tried to explain what I had seen she seemed to be bothered by me. Her body language and face totally said I dont care to help you. She did offer to call on other store and have me come back to pick up. I left and bought my camera elsewhere. You lost me at I dont care. What kind of service is that? Basics like a greeting and a smile go a long way. Also providing customer service works too.

David was pretty awesome, he cleaned my camera sensor for me and was super cool about it. 10/10

I had only been doing photography on my cellphone, but wanted to upgrade to something better. I had done some research online, knew what I wanted and how much I was willing to spend. The staff at the Shutterbug were able to help me get a better price than what I could find online. I ended up buying a Sony A7ii based on their suggestions (I was also looking at a Fujifilm XT-3).

Guy knew exactly what I needed and got me checked out in less than a minute, then was super helpful when I came back in after my 70s-era camera had a part fall off.About 10 minutes in the store and I know more about my camera than I did when I stepped in and I have all the proper stuff to start shooting.

Very friendly staff. They helped us figure out ordering our photo prints and even found a way for us to save money but still get what we wanted. Will definitely be coming back again!

Great experience. Linda went out of her way to educate and inform me of the latest and greatest camera gear that would fit my needs. When she found out I was traveling to Portland she suggested that I visit the portland store and even made sure that the tech there could have a look at my old rebel. Can not say enough about her. I stopped in on my way back home and purchased a few lenses on her recommendation and she even got me a rebate on one of the canon lenses. Im in the process of upgrading from my old canon rebel to new camera and will make shutterbug my go to store for my new gear. In this age of the interpersonal internet it is refreshing to have the ability to speak to a knowledgeable person face to face. Shutterbug, keep up the good work.

Great local photography shop with knowledgeable employees willing to help you pick out a camera. They also host some great workshops.

Nice store certain things are a little over priced. Compact flash for example is almost 40 bucks for 4gb when I found one cheaper at a retailer that was 32 gb and was cheaper and it was a known brand. They have nice equipment though and are knowledgeable. I went to have a Camera cleaned lens and sensor and when it was returned I noticed there were spots in the view finder. Not fond of the Pot shop next door either. Its sad when there is only one Camera store in the city of Salem. Mentioned to them that I had thousands of photos stolen from me some with family that is now dead and some that people have no right taking in the first place it was a hard drive. The guy kind of grinned and said well maybe youll get to go to those places again. Kind of insensitive. At some point consider looking elsewhere.

Friendly and Awesome customer service

Every time I come in here, they never really have what I’m looking for. Then they try to convince me I need something different. Not to mention their lens rental rates are OUTRAGEOUS. They want borderline full price for a deposit, plus rental fee, when you can go to focal point in Dallas and pay a $400 deposit for any lens you want, and half the price for a rental fee. You guys should take some tips from other camera stores, and pay attention to what your customers want. I usually leave empty handed, headed elsewhere.

This store is a major rip off.there is a reason why there return policy is seven days. They are money hungry rich people who bug you to buy more than you needed. They just want your money and there cameras break. Mine broke 2 weeks after buying it and I couldnt return it after 7 days. I got a family to feed but do they care? No. They will go home to there rich house and forget about you. Way better deals online and F you owner who response to these comments. Quit trying to act professional and realize your all a bunch of shirty people. How do you all sleep at night.

I dropped in to inquire about the new Canon 1Dx mkII and make a quick photo enlargement. As always I was greeted with fantastic customer service and my photo was ready to go before I was even done talking cameras with the manager. The print quality here is second to none and I cant recommend The Shutterbug enough, thanks for the help!
