Another employee walked by within 30 seconds & asked if I was being helped. This was impressive since I have waited at other businesses for long periods of time before being recognized.

Cloninger Ford in Salisbury deserves 0 stars. My experience was terrible. I was having problems with my back up camera, so I called Cloninger. I was told they dont make appointments for Saturdays, but after explaining to the woman on the phone that taking time off during the week was very difficult, she agreed to give me a Saturday appointment several weeks later. When I arrived, I was told again by several people they dont make Saturday appointments despite the fact that I had a text confirming my appointment. I was called 4 1/2 hours later and told no one had looked at my 2020 Explorer and there was nothing they could do. I then called another dealership, and they were able to make an afternoon appointment for me later that week. As soon as I arrived at the other dealership, I was told there was a recall on my back up camera. I dont understand how Cloninger had no knowledge of this recall (that had been in place since September). I later received an email from Cloninger indicating that service was complete on my Explorer. Interesting, because nothing was done. No one even looked at my vehicle, but somehow this email stated that electrical systems and a free alignment check had been performed. Again, this is completely false because nothing was done to my vehicle. I was frustrated after leaving my vehicle for more than 4 hours and nothing even being looked at, but what upset me most was the fact the service department did absolutely nothing to make it right. Cloninger has lost me as a customer.

This is the worst experience Iv ever had with Ford, I recently moved to Salisbury, North Carolina from Tennessee, I always prefer Ford services to repair my vehicles, because I believed if the vehicle is manufactured there, It should be worked on there since they know the car. That wasn’t the case with cloinger Ford. I went for an oil change when I picked up the vehicle it was full of oil, white vehicle with oil stains all over, then when I went to drive the vehicle it started shaking so I brought it back. They charged me $1500.00 to change spark plugs and wires which they said was the problem…. A few hours after picking up…the vehicle it turned off, when I popped the hood I noticed the spark plugs we’re not connected properly…. It was completely loose!!!! Worse experience. I’m a business owner who’s really am upset about the way Ford handled the situation and will think 4 times before ever bringing another vehicle back in for any repairs

Service here has gone down hill badly. If you take your vehicle here you can expect one of a few things to happen. They won’t be able to find your keys or your vehicle. They won’t be able to find any kind of records on what is being worked on. If you call to check on your vehicle it will be days before they call back that is if you get a call back at all. They may have it fixed or they may not. If had a truck there twice already with the check engine light on and now it’s on for a third time. They keep it each time for days and days not worried about people loosing money not have something to work out of. But why should they care they aren’t the ones losing the money. I recommend you take your vehicle to Mooresville Ford it is where I’ll start taking my vehicles for sure. Sad this happens close to where you live and you have to travel father away to get quality service.

I loved Kenny Baker! Such a fantastic experience with him as the salesman! Lots of laughs. Having a car that was 14 years old, it was time to get a new one. I do think that my payments could have been lower than they are. I really feel that the manager could have come down even a little lower on the overall price of the car, but he wouldn’t. Not Kenny’s fault. Otherwise, a very good experience.

I have bought several vehicles from Cloniger in Salisbury and have had a pleasant experience every time. I was in the market for a larger pickup so naturally I decided to return to Cloniger to fill my needs. Like many dealerships right now it was hard to find new inventory sitting on a lot. My salesman Jose went above and beyond searching for the truck to fill the check boxes on my want list. Took a couple weeks to nail one down but the whole deal went smooth as glass. I feel they offered me a fair deal for my trade and for the new truck I was buying. From my dealings with sales and service I believe the whole team is top notch. Highly recommend this place if you are in the market for a new vehicle. I know when the time arrives for me again Ill definitely be giving them more of my business.

We arrived on time at the dealership for a scheduled 10 am Oil Change and Tire Rotation on my 2019 Ford Ranger. We did not get our vehicle back until after 12 noon.The service was completed at least an hour before that. But it was only after my wife went to the Service department counter to ask the status of our vehicle, that she was informed that the service was completed and our vehicle was parked outside. We paid for the service and our keys were returned to us.Very poor customer service.

I’ve always had a great experience with Cloninger Ford. I choose to use them primarily based upon how I’m treated as a customer. Their personnel had listed all the services that my vehicle needed on the services bill which eliminates the guess work for me. The workmanship has been really good and I’ve only encountered one oversight which was taken care of immediately and does not hinder my thought of using them again. I will continue to drive out of my way to go to Salisbury’s Cloninger Ford.

I was trying to leave to go to Florida and found that I had a nail in the sidewall of a tire which could not be plugged or patched. I found the exact tire I needed at cloninger and I met the service writer and explained my ordeal and he worked me in with out a appointment and I was in and out in a little over an hour on a very busy Saturday morning. I bought a used 2013 ford f150 from them last Thursday. Overall experience was great. I do enjoy the vehicle. But i was told by the salesman their used car inspectors are “very thorough”. Fortunately i work at a shop so i can work on it myself because The vehicle was pulling right and upon putting it on the alignment machine camber was way out. I had to buy caster/camber eccentrics to fix it but it already chewed up the inside of the right front tire. The vehicle was running a little rough hooked it up to a scan tool saw a couple misfires pulled the plugs and they were original 100k mile plugs. I found a plastic peice of the air intake tube broke off just laying down in the bottom of the engine bay when i went to change the spark plugs. The ac wasnt cold so i had to evac and recharge it and found it only had half of its required amount of refrigerant. So overall i spent $500 in the first 3 days of ownership fixing things i feel should have been adressed prior to selling the vehicle. Not to mention im gonna have to get a tire now. Im still happy with the truck and do enjoy it. But they need to do better.

If I could give zero stars I would. We are going on 2 months and still no paperwork so we can get our tag. When you call no one knows anything. Have already been pulled over by the police for no tag (1st drive out tag expired then 2nd tag they half a$$ put on and it blew off) went to get a third drive out tag and they just put a piece of paper in our back glass. The part that makes all this worse, is calling and no one knowing whats going on or what I am talking about. They act like this first vehicle they ever sold.

So the sales department is great!! But the service department is terrible or they just have the slowest lube techs on earth. Had a appointment at 9:15 showed up at 8:50 they didn’t pull my truck in until 12pm after I had to complain. All other customers had the same complaint. The service writers just sit and watch customers as they pull in and take there sweet time to get to them. So service department sucks but the sales department is great very helpful.

I have bought several cars over the years with Cloninger Ford/Toyota in Salisbury, the most recent being a 2018 Ford Fusion. Service had been good from them until the last year. We have had numerous problems with the last car we purchases. Service dept is quick to get you in and started, but the communication level is terrible. Takes several days to get back on an answer on warranty. Leave messages, no return calls. Not completing service. It has been a terrible experience lately and will not be returning

I took it in for an oil change and it seemed looking at the paperwork it was confusing on what exactly had been done.I did witness the oil being changed so I know this was done. When it left that area the car was gone for another 10-15 min as it was out of my view I wasnt sure what may have been done. I think maybe a tire rotation. I wish the work order was more clear. I feel I need to call to verify what exactly as done to the car.

Went to Cloninger Ford because my car had been totaled out and wanted to check out some vehicles for my replacement one. Left with a pre-owned 2020 Ford Fusion fully loaded. I use quotes because the car only had 1800 miles on it. Its practically brand new. The sales man, Daniel, was amazing and very informative. I’ll make this short, I came in looking for a cheap “truck” because of my finances. However, the truck that I was looking for was very very dirty in the inside being that it just got traded in two days before I got there. The finance manager “Thomas Dunlap” spoke with me on the phone prior to coming and when I finally arrived, Thomas the finance manager and “Daniel” the sales guy both greeted me with warm welcomes making me feel right at home. Thomas is definitely the man when it comes to the job he does! Let him work for you and you will definitely be satisfied and no I was not forced to do this review lol. I am very big on customer service and today my expectations with Thomas was blown away. We arrived at 11:35am. They started my oil change at 12:45pm. They were not busy. Eating pizza which I had to cleaned out of my vehicle was more important than serving my vehicle. When I checked out there was no thank you bye. Nothing. He didn’t even go over the details of my routine maintenance inspection of which I will soon need tires and brakes. No excuse for the poor service.

I purchased a used 2020 F150 from Cloninger Ford in Salisbury, NC in November 2020. I found the truck on their web site and requested an OTD quote in advance of my visit. I never care about any other price because the dealer can massage the numbers however they want, but what I am interested in is the final cost. The sales manager provided a quote, and I agreed to visit that day.When I was taking a test drive, the salesman explained that the previous owner was just trying to get out from under the payments and decided to get a lesser trim level. To accent his point, he pulled out a manual pack that was still shrink-wrapped in plastic and indicated that the owner never even opened it.I decided to purchase the truck. When the salesman came back to me with the price, I informed him that I already had an OTD price, and showed him the email from the sales manager. There was clearly a lot of emotion at the sales manager station as they realized that the promised price was not what they wanted. The sales manager came over and said that he had made a mistake and asked if we could proceed with the deal. He had a quote with a $500 deduction with the words My Bad on it. I was in such disbelief that I simply considered the new price and considered it fair, so I proceeded.The purchase experience was less than stellar. Their internet was out, so after I had sat there for 30 minutes, they decided to do it on paper.When the truck was delivered (It had to be detailed because the sales manager had been driving it, according to the salesman.), the manual was not sealed and the card with the security code for the locks was gone. Clearly, this was a con-man sales tactic, whether the salesman was in on it or not.Finally, one last irritation. While I dont consider this the dealers fault necessarily (not the policy, but I certainly do the lack of a professional response in a timely manner), my truck was 12 years old, and purchased in a different state. I waited for my license plate sticker for 6 months, then called the dealership to ask where it was. I thought that Covid had caused a paperwork mistake. After waiting over 3 weeks for a return phone call after one had been promised, I called back. I was told that transfers dont get an updated sticker and that was on me. The lack of a call-back was explained away as the title person having health issues and someone else covering for her. I completely sympathize with the employee, but I do not excuse the business for not returning a phone call when they said that they would. My question was, Who was going to tell the out-of-state guy who moved to NC who buys a truck every 12 years that it was on him and not handled by the transfer process? These people do this every day and have an obligation to educate their customers who are making a substantial purchase on what their responsibilities will be.While my experience might be an outlier, its my experience. I was misled on several points, and even the the part of the business that claimed to do the job right tried to brush the fact that they didnt respond at all and I had to call back for an update tried to separate themselves from the factual experience I had.I gave Cloninger a review, and the response was, Thank you for your feedback Christopher. We will review this information with our management team and address your issues..Big surprise. I am still waiting on their response.Dont trust them. This is all based on facts. I can prove every point with emails and documents.

I made an appointment first thing in the morning for later in the evening and left work early just to look at a vehicle and test drive it. But when I arrived the vehicle I was looking to purchase was in the shop with wheels and parts removed, so that day was a complete waste of my time. I returned next day and finally was able to drive the vehicle, after deciding I wanted to purchase it, I was still there another 3 and a half hours. Salesman was a nice guy and all but the whole entire process was a massive confusion. Especially on their side. The deal was for the Ford dealer but a Toyota salesman was working on it, they blamed the “internet ladies” for the issue on the first day because they “just make appointments and don’t let anyone know”, salesman never asked or offered an option for GAP or any kind of up sale on a warranty, and I was there way too long supposedly because they only had one person closing the deals for both dealers. That guy was the most helpful of everyone, but the whole experience was garbage. But I was told after about 45 minutes of waiting to finalize everything and pay down payment that there was only one deal in front of me, turned out that there was 3. I’ve never wanted to buy a vehicle and have the whole entire process take more than 2 hours tops, nor have I ever visited such an unorganized dealer. I only bought the vehicle because I knew the previous owner that traded in and knew the history of the vehicle, not because of the interactions with the staff or the “experience”. “Better,better,better!” Should not be your slogan, that was a huge miss.

Had an appointment for an oil change at 9:00 am, this past Friday. It took 3.5 hours for it to be completed. The following Wednesday, I noticed two drops of oil on my garage floor, where its parked. When my wife got home, I crawled under it and there was oil all over the oil filter, and alot of oil on what appears to be some type of drip pans underneath. There was also oil on one of the hoses. Its a 2020 expedition with 10,000 miles so cant imagine it is leaking. Appears to me someone just doesnt care. This is my second and last oil change at Cloninger Ford in Salisbury.

I bought a brand new Ford explorer from this location a week ago; it was delivered to my house. When I decided to go for a drive I found out its emergency brake wasnt engaging so I didnt drive. I called next day and was told to take it to closer dealership and get checked. I was also told that warranty will cover it so I called the local dealership. They told me to leave it and take loaner car till they look into it. I couldnt make it and my wife refused to drop it off as she considered it as unsafe to drive. Being from west coast and living in the mountains emergency brake is the first thing we use before parking any vehicle. Anyways I called again and was told to bring it back to Salisbury Ford dealership and they will check the. I end up driving 35 miles to Salisbury Ford last Saturday and they tweeked the brake which worked for couple times but still they didnt make me the key. Moving on, last weekend my wife drove it and ebrake didnt engage again so I had to deal with that whole situation. I talked to couple of people and found out that this is not the same model I went to purchase. Also, this vehicle might have been used because of the scratches we found and a used baby nipple under the driver seat. Took it to local ford dealership again to get the ebrake checked and they said leave it for couple of days. I mean seriously I bought a brand new vehicle and less than a week Im making trips back to dealership to get it fixed. They pretty much entrapped me into buying this vehicle with false advertisement. The vehicle in the add did not have all the functions which were mentioned in the add. Salesman pointed that out and I asked the salesman to show me similar vehicle; that is when I was talked into lower price but salesman never mentioning lower model. I still have snapshots of the advertisement. If you are buying a new vehicle be aware of this place.Update: finally had a day off and Im at Huntersville Ford to get the key fixed which they finally sent after a month. This is my 3rd time already making trips back to dealership to get this brand new vehicle fixed.Update: plastic parts on the roof of the SUV are falling off; I havent even driven 1500 miles yet. Be aware of these scammers.BTW salesmans name is Kenny Gray; be aware of sweet talk.Update: Back at Huntersville Ford to deal with falling parts of this vehicle. I called Cloninger Ford to find out if I can trade in for better vehicle and was told the manager will contact me; I never received any calls.

My 2020 Ford F-150 was in the service center for a water leak and the horn was not working. After looking at the truck we were told in was a spring in the horn. . That part come in and it wasn’t the issue. Another part was ordered and that didn’t fix it. The wrong part was ordered a total of 3 times. When we dropped the truck off November 21st we were told it would be ready that evening. Two days later we demanded a loaner vehicle as this was in the warranty and we were traveling for the holidays. We were not kept in the loop the entire experience. We had to make several phone calls and demand answers. We were put off daily saying it should be ready tomorrow. Once it was determined it was the body control module and the part was on back order we were told they were putting the truck back together and we would have to turn the loaner in until the part come in after the New Year. I spoke to The Service Manager, Marty Simpson and expressed my concern driving the truck with no horn and the crash sensors not working and that this was a safety issue. His exact words were “ I can’t tell you it’s safe to drive or not drive. I can just tell you my loaner is getting miled out”. We were assured we would be notified as soon as the part come in. I called to check the status of the part January 4th and was told by someone in parts “oh that come in last week”.I was then transferred to the service department to schedule an appointment. They could not get the truck back in until Monday 1/11/21. We were told this was a 2 hour job. Three days later was told it was a 14 hour job. The truck was finally ready to pick up today, Friday 1/15/21. The assistant service manager, Melanie Purser was rude and very nonchalant the entire duration of this mess. I wound not recommend this service department to anyone. This has been a nightmare experience.

I was the person willing to buy a car that they said I may be able to get that day. They were unclear about my credit issue even with a co-signer. They tried to sell the car to a person without driver’s license and they could not get insured because they had no driver’s license. They told me my credit was bringing the co-signer credit down. Took my name off the app. Then only told me they could not get a bank to approve me and the co-signer together after I told them I was writing a review. If you have bad credit and your credit score on Credit Karma is 522 or lower. You don’t have a chance here. Go somewhere else.! I have proof in chats.

Bought Lexus RS 350 from Cloninger and had my best buying experience I ever had! Process of negotiation, handling paperwork, dedication for highest customer satisfaction are MET for sure! Actually, I was very surprised of all positive vibes, because usually you expecting something going sideways and not your way. Not at that place. Vehicle was properly described, washed, oil changed, full tank of gas filled up. I was greeted with highest respect like I was an old and valuable vip customer, BUT I WASNT...I was nobody for them and my purchase was not that expensive to have them making money out of my deal either, BUT THEY HANDLE ALL with PERFECTION and HIGHEST CUSTOMER SATISFACTION! If you have days to wait for help then this is the place. The staff is unprofessional from the person who answers phone all the way to the general manager. Sales person doesnt communicate information and will leave you unattended for hours at a time. Would not recommend. Put one star because I couldnt put zero stars.

Had a great experience with the salesperson Nat Venning. That is where it ends. Although initial experience with financing, etc., was pleasurable, the problems started when the company I had financed my trade in thru called me two weeks later to say my payment was late. Notified Cloninger immediately. Told check is being cut. Then another call from the finance company and now a late fee is being charged. Again, told the check was in the mail. I traded two cars and three weeks after the purchase, the CU I financed that thru called to say that payment was late. I then checked with the DMV and found that they had not yet sent in the paperwork for the transfer of registration that we paid them to do. The 20 day period allowed by NC had expired so now I was driving my new vehicle illegally. I spoke to several different over a course of a week and was continually told the check was cut or sent, or that a wire transfer would be done, etc. finally resolved, but not before the finance company for one of the cars dinged my credit for being late. A good experience at the start turned bad. Will not be purchasing from them again.

Dealerships are defined by their service department and I highly recommend this location. I had a tough problem and had a bad experience at a Charlotte dealership. Cloniger came highly rated from a forum so Ingave them a shot. I brought my car in and although my problem was tough and complex they did the work and fixed it for me. My husband and I just purchased a brand new 2017 F250 SuperDuty Lariat edition from Cloninger Ford in Salisbury, North Carolina. Our experience was phenomenal and we would absolutely do it again! We drove 4 hours from Charleston, South Carolina to work with them and enjoyed our 4 hour drive back home in our beautiful truck! Yesterday we called to inquire about the exact truck that we had been searching very hard for and after being denied by 2 other Ford dealers, we made financial arrangements and had a game plan lined up to make this purchase happen. We dealt with several members of the Cloninger Ford team; Shawn, Jose Palacios, and most of our time was spent with Fadi Bekhet (in sales) and Brett White (in finance), and they were all amazing! Fadi and Jose worked with us like we were family and did everything in their power to make our deal close exactly where we needed it to be. They went above and beyond for us and made us feel absolutely comfortable, well informed, and did not pressure us into anything. Everyone was extremely honest, polite, and knowledgeable. They all made us feel like our financial well being was their top priority rather than just trying to get another sale under their belts....and trust me when I say that we did not make their jobs easy because we carried so much negative equity to our new loan. Jose went over our truck and it’s features and manual contents with us before we left the parking lot and he gave us a lot of useful information about the Ford Pass app for our cellphones. The last time I purchased a new car from another dealer, I had a bad experience, so I decided to give Cloninger a try this time. I had already picked out the car I wanted online, down to the paint color, but they didnt have any in stock when I visited. I waited a few days while they sourced one for me in another city, which I was happy to do to get the car I really wanted. It was a great experience - Ive never actually been excited about buying a car before, but this time I was! Jack was great, kept in contact the entire time and delivered my car all shined up and ready to go. Ive had it a few weeks now and Im still loving it. My husband is afraid to drive it because I baby it so much. I also appreciate the lifetime powertrain warranty Cloninger provides. That added reassurance really helped me make the decision to buy the car.

Ive never actually had a comfortable, trusting experience at a car dealer until I experienced buying a car here at Cloninger toyota in Salisbury NC. Christie is absolutely amazing and caring. She made sure we were taken care of for sure. Shane in the service department is also extremely amazing and I probably will never go to another service place unless Shane is there. Everyone who I encountered at this specific spot have been helpful and makes sure you leave happier than you when you walked in. I also love my car VERY MUCH!
