They have an awesome drink menu including their cider, local beers, and cocktails made with local spirits! Jules was wonderful and recommended a flight to try out all of their yummy flavors. The space is a beautiful mix of wine bar meets brewery. Looking forward to patio season, live music and food trucks! The limited release ciders were delicious.
This place is a gem. Its always super clean, the ciders are amazing (best youll find anywhere), and the beer garten is one of the most relaxing places to grab a drink and catch some local music. I love this place!
Cool place to drink cider and hang out. A variety of different types of drinks which is nice for a wide audience. It’s a bit confusing getting in, but once you park you are good to go. You can park on the street and there are other places nearby.
I asked for Ruby and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the cotton wood and was blown away! Such a great tasting cider. I was never into ciders but I know now its because I hadnt experienced art in action. I highly recommend this place as a must and a regular spot to your weekly adventures. Also they get extra points for utilizing the best of local food trucks. Also live music makes for a fantastic night.
Good cider, but only two kinds on tap. That was kind of disappointing I was hoping to try something different or new. Nice outdoor area, dog friendly, enjoyable staff.
Very good cider and staff is extremely friendly. They have a tasting flight for $5. Always have some rotating local art on the walls. they have about a half a dozen different types of cider to choose from. Theyre classic original Ruby is quite good. During the warmer months there is an outdoor beer garden right next door and they partner with red Rock brewing to have both available
Pros: I love the community aspect of bringing in local live music and food truck venders. We live a block away and when we hear music we want to come join the party. On the flip side, they need to up their inventory. We want to make this a regular spot but every time we come they are out of what ever drink we try to order including their own ciders.
The Live music was fantastic and its a great place to bring your dog! 4 stars because I wasnt super impressed with the cider, but its also not my thing. Full bar and fun vibes with the firepit. A lot of the Patagonia crowd was there which is always chill. We will be back!
Hands down the best place for cider in Utah. Their small batch runs are particularly amazing and not to be missed. Jeff and Jennifer are also good people and have created an amazing space to hang out and grab a drink.
Beautiful ambiance and dog friendly. The music makes it an even better place.
Very delicious dry ciders. The outdoor space was really cool and was dog friendly!
Good spot to relax have a drink with plenty of space.
Wonderful staff! Was super fun getting to hear about the founding, as well as getting to try the cider varieties. I reccomend getting the cider flight, and going on the tour of the facility!
We took the tour and it was AWESOME!!! Everyone was so nice and the owner was so knowledgeable!! Come check this place out! The garden area was really cool! Will be back again!
Eric was a boss. He talked about every cider we had. It was amazing, the passion and love in his craft was awesome. Took time to explain each cider and what went in to it. Dry ciders and amazing flavors. Here we go.
Great place to have a carafe of cider
I so love this place. Huge outside patio, the owners and employees are so friendly and helpful — they act like they’re already your friends. They don’t have a lot of business right now bc of covid, which is fine to me, but I really want this brewery to last. So check them out. You won’t be disappointed.
Everyone should come here more often. Its been so long, I forgot how great it is!
We stopped by Mountain West on our visit to to Salt Lake City in early March and we instantly loved this spot. Between the tour and a tasting, we spent about 90 minutes here and we learned so much about the Cider/Beer/Wine industry in Utah. Both owners were hard at work during our visit and it’s great to see their efforts producing such quality! (Not to mention they have some really cool stories behind a few of their ciders and their involvement in the community). They have a fantastic outdoor space for hosting events and the location is only a few blocks walking from other activities. Stop by Mountain West and try their cider - it’s delicious, even if you’re not traditionally a cider fan!
Went for tour and our host, Jennifer, was a co-founder of the company with her husband. She was very informative and kind about answering any questions. The tasting after was the cherry on top, there wasn’t a cider I didn’t like. Highly recommend
Yes yes yes Mountain West Cider! We did a tour of their facility with some friends and had a great time. The facility is spotless, beautiful, and the drinks are incredible and fresh. If you want to switch things up from the hustle and bustle of the Downtown breweries, head a little bit further west and stop here.
Spent my Saturday covid-afternoon with a small group of friends at this brewery and had a great experience tasting ciders and learning about the biz. Jennifer and her husband were very welcoming, authentic, and uber friendly. I would highly recommend scheduling a tour, purchasing the cider flights, and be ready for a fun time. I will be back. I love the extensive beer selection. Now i jus need some finger food available to enjoy with it. Our group was able to do this in a small & safe environment despite the pandemic restrictions. Support local y’all
Eric was very friendly and had a good time telling stories and discussing politics with us. Im proud to support woman owned businesses, and appreciated gender neutral bathrooms
This is a first rate operation. The premier cider operation in the Western United States, makes Angry Orchard look like clown school. Great outdoor space, go here and enjoy a quality crafted beverage.
We went to their free Monday movie night and had a wonderful time. The staff was incredibly friendly and supplied free popcorn for the duration of the movie. The drinks are very good and they offer a wide variety of different ciders. I would recommend trying the sampler so you can find the one you like the most and possibly purchase a bottle of it.I know that they occasionally offer cooking courses here as well, so I will definitely be returning.
Always a great place to hang out in The (Beer) Garten. Excellent selection of draft and bottled beer as well as ciders.
When we arrived no one else was there. They were too busy to bring us a drink but we gave them the benefit of the doubt. Server walked by us several times. We went to the bar but we cant order there because of COVID. I get it. But come check on us. Yeah no. So when we finally flagged them down for the check I asked to talk to the manager I was told no. I still tipped cause i am not a complete jerk but come on! One and done. But trivia and bingo were fun. Dont bother with this place. Go to the Garage on Beck Street instead.
Chill cidery which also serves limited cocktails and a fairly wide selection of beer.Outside food is allowed for non-event days.
Good beer hall-style venue. Current serving practices are Covid-19 safe
If youre a fan of hard cider, this is a great place to stop. I ordered the cider flight, which lets you try 5 of their signature ciders. I also tried a few cocktails, all of which were delicious. The cozy bar sources all local products, so the selection is a bit small. The bartender was super friendly and helpful, too. Great little spot to have a drink.
Really great patio! Their live music nights are super fun.
Huge, shaded, dog friendly outside bar. Husky approved, misting system, individual doggie bowls, and mats for the rocks.
The best cider around
Wow - I love this place! The staff is very friendly and committed to good service. They regularly introduce new options so its a great opportunity to support local business on the way home from work instead of Smiths or the state stores. The cider profiles are diverse and I havent tried one I dont like! You can ask the staff for flavor points and theyll help you compare other brands. Also, the bottles make for great gift bag/basket additions.
I love Mountain West Cider! The flavors they have are dry and delicious. I did a tasting here a few months ago which was excellent, and today I visited their 4th West Oktoberfest. It was super chill with great live music and lots of vendors. The entry was $8 but included a fun plastic stein (no plastic cups! So great!). And the cider was only $6 a glass. So much fun!
Love the cider selection and their store room, but almost equally love their beer garden! Best place to chill on a summer evening!
Small but fun. Excellent ciders that arent too sweet. Surprised by how much I liked it. Also, the cocktails are amazing. Never would have thought cider and whiskey would work so well together.
This is definitely now on my list of Best Local Secrets in Salt Lake!I am no connoisseur of ciders (tho this place could probably make one of me), but I believe these folk would be outstanding anywhere, in SLC they are unique. I havent come near to trying all the varieties, apparently all from local apples, but I do know now that cider can be as interesting and varied, complicate and subtle, as wine. I hope these guys are in the neighborhood for 25 years, for starters.Easy to find from I-15 (600 North exit) and US 89 (3rd West). Definitely worth a side trip.
Morgan was a really awesome tour guide. Small place but fascinating process- this place is worth checking out.
This location is great for events. They have a big open area that can accommodate a lot of people. I was invited here to taste certain drinks and Im glad I went there to do so.
Not a bad place to hang out with friends! The outdoor Garten was pretty, and the live band was a nice touch as well! Great place to hang out.As for the booze itself, maybe cider isnt my thing; however, I felt the ciders were okay. Bartender wasnt very helpful with selections and didnt seem approachable, and there were only 3 ciders available at the time because the others were out. We were handed a can and a plastic cup to pour our drinks into ourselves. Personally, had I known that I wouldve just went to a State Liquor store and get the booze yourself. At least then you could drink out of a nice glass!! Haha, but I dont blame the bar for that. I am sure there are rules against glass outside, and Im sure Utahs laws have a play in it, so I will not let those two things affect the reviews rating.Would love to come back for a full flight. Overall the venue was a lot of fun, but the booze was okay.
Awesome hard cider brewed right in house and Sunday from 12 - 2 pm they have Beginner Sushi Classes, you do have to sign up for the classes, their website has the information.
Went for a debate watch party but really good drinks. Not a big Cider person but, I really enjoyed the two I had.
Great experience. Tour was incredibly informative and fun. Cozy atmosphere and fantastic cider.
This place is so cute! Its an outside bar in downtown. They have all kinds of games such as jenga and other fun activities. The beer here is great and they do bloody marys and cider mimosas. You can also go inside where they brew the cider and buy bottles of what you love. I will be going back this summer.
The tour was so awesome, thanks guys!
I love Mountain West Cider! The staff is always the most kind and knowledgeable. I love the different approach to cider and I sincerely appreciate the different levels of community engagement this company has, including working community outreach into a recipe for one of their ciders. Theres nothing better than knowing you are purchasing a super refreshing cider and donating back into your local economy and volunteer efforts.
Great selection of cider. Delicious! Great atmosphere and staff. Enjoy!
Kala was a great bartender and was friendly to talk to. Now with the bar license, you can order cocktails. I got the No. 1 and it was a rum & cottonwood cider. Definitely would recommend having a flight and a cocktail.
What an amazing place!! They have a little tasting room with some sweet Mountain West gear! From the tasting room you can see the brewing tanks/ room. The staff was extremely nice and knew a lot about the current liquor laws. I will definitely be buying their cider when I see it!
Mostly dry ciders, as they should be. A good place to kill time before going to the airport. Best cidery in Utah.
Great cider, atmosphere, and live music.
Cider is all DRY. Not that thats a bad thing, its just not what I expect when I hear alcoholic cider. Bartender was talkative, we had a great time. Sad I couldnt be there when the garden was open
Go in for a tasting! What an education. We’re so proud to have Mountain West in our neighborhood. We love the whole team!
Stopped in just to check the place out and wound up spending 2.5hrs with bartenders Crystal and Greg. They were both awesome and so were the ciders -- Crystal took us through a flight & a couple of pours and then when she left we ordered cocktails from Greg. Really quiet just before 4 on a Friday afternoon. Awesome for us but they definitely deserve more.
My brother and I had an awesome time. Jennifer was incredibly knowledgeable and sweet and we learned a whole lot. I definitely will be coming back again to get more product and to check out the Garten door.
Sarah was a awesome tour guide and taste test hostess! The cider is excellent, especially for not containing any sugar. You will love it#
Submitted a tour request online last Friday, never heard back from them. Called on Tuesday evening and was given 0 answers other than there probably is availability but I just dont know for sure and a promised call back that has yet to happen over 36 hours later.
They have an EV charger! 😍
Great friendly people.
Hard Cider for Easy Living...Local proprietor and host offers samplers to guests who want to try this beverage. For me, the taste test is somewhere in between champagne and chablis. Sparkly and bubbly. The interior is artistic as well designed by the other proprietar. Theres a small history as interesting behind this start up. This location offers event hosting, located 2 blocks off freeway access.
Fun variety of ciders!
It hosts a small tasting bar, but it fits very well to the shop. This is the place where I met with the drink cider. I surprisingly liked it. I also appreciate the fact that the barista gives information on the cider while I taste it.
Have you tried this cider yet? No?!? What are you waiting for!? Go now, it is hands down some of the best gluten free drinking youll find in the state of Utah.
Cider is amazing, Desolation is my favorite, Cottonwood is a close second. A lot of people I know prefer Stillwater. I guess Im just saying its all amazing cider. Owners are friendly and upbeat as are the staff.
Good hard cider. Nice aesthetic. Clean bathrooms. Good price
Love this place! Their beer garden is also wonderful! Go!
Went in for a tasting and tour on Sunday & was thoroughly impressed. Their cidery is sooo much bigger inside than outside, and super clean and modern. The beer garden is nice too because you can enjoy a show weekly out there while sipping on local faire. Also loved the education our tasting girl had and the descriptions she used for all the different ciders we tasted.
Great space, awesome cider, fun staff, and full bar in the back patio. Loved it.
They have misters
Customer service goes a long way. We were treated exceptionally great and the cider is freaking amazing. Definitely recommend thia place
Lacie is such an amazing person. Was in town visiting and she was so helpful with finding things for me to do. Any cider from this establishment is a must!
Currently they only have one cider available, Ruby, but we loved it! They have a tasting room where theyll pour their cider for free. Looking forward to more of their releases.
Good selection of ciders. Sadly they were out of their seasonal.
Attended an activity in the Garten. Nice venue with ample seating, some of which was covered. Enjoyed their libations. Give it a try,. You wont be sorry.
Nice garden for drinking and hanging with friends. Good cider.
I filmed a wedding here and everything about this place was cozy they had games for the kids as well Im hoping to be able to check it out again
The outside area is nice, and dog friendly. However, the cider is over priced for the taste.
Steph was fantastic! Great atmosphere, great compared, and good spirits!
What a fantastic experience. I was here with a group and and they went all out for the tour. We were able to task samples at each stage of the process, plus the barrel aged test project. Even if you are not able to tour the place, its a very welcoming tasting room. The cider is near dry. It is a welcome change from the mass produced versions previously available at the State stores. I purchased enough to last until it is available at the State stores. Its something I will look forward to drinking. As the only dedicated cidery and their commitment to using locally sourced apples, they deserve to be supported. The fact that the cider is really excellent is all gravy. We are lucky to have breweries, distilleries, and now an excellent cidery locally.
Love this place! The cider is delicious; the staff is friendly, the venue is great for hanging out at, the events are fun, what more could you ask for in a brewery?
The ciders are fantastic and our tour guide was funny and provided a ton of info.
Amazing cider and their cidergarten events are awesome.
We visited Mountain West Cider to do a tour and Anna was such a delight. The ciders were tasty and cold!
Reminds me of my days at Uni in Cambridge, English. Hard cider made from apples grown in Santaquin, UT and sold direct. The first offering is very dry, made with only Champaign yeast and apple juice. More varieties are in the works. Happy is fruit juice with a kick.
Amazing cider! You cant find better cider in utah dont even bother trying to find anything better at the liquor store.
Mountain west cider is amazing, the staff is kind the drinks are priced great and the patio is amazing, come over and ask for.the rubys gay hard cider and support a fantastic cause! Who knows maybe you will see me, ruby the drag queen
Friendly and informative staff...any visit to salt lake should include a stop
Staff & Owners were great people!
Fantastic Ambience, amazing cider.
Darn good beer great beergarten
Cool place and great local live music
Fun new addition to our blossoming beer scene in Utah.
