This is not your ordinary bookstore. I come here frequently to get rocks and fossils for my younger clients. The meteorite and rhe red beryl are Amazon to look at as well.

This is an example of the kind map and bookstore that was extremely useful back in the 80s and 90s. Unfortunately, nearly all the books can be found online at a cheaper price and paper maps just arent needed by most people for most occasions any longer. Even so, its fun to wander around the small store. And if you really do need a big paper map for some backpacking or hunting trip, its still a good place to pick one up.

Walls covered from floor to ceiling with cubbys assigned to individual sectional grid locations of the state. Racks of maps from every publisher, for every purpose and age demographic.My favorite place to shop for new wall coverings and home decor!ADA Compliant, government facility. Easy access and clean restrooms.

This is the go to place for any kind of map or book resource about natural Utah or the west. Theyve got books on native western plants, animals and insects, the local geology and rock hounding, trails, climbing, swimming and hunting recreation, and even some on dinosaurs and space. Its a really cool place to go look around, and prices arent so bad either. Will definitely be visiting here again in the future.

Government at its best: knowledgeable staff, lots of maps and books, reasonable prices. I sure wish theyd keep printing the beautiful older editions of the USGS maps. Seems that everyone who works there lives Utah and can geek out on our funky arcana.

The UGS store is a hidden treasure and I never fail to learn something each visit. I did not know there were so many types of maps---my favorite is a detailed satellite image/map in 3D. Three D glasses came with the map and I think the total price was $3 dollars. They have an unparalleled array of fascinating books on everything related to Utah---from local history, to hunting fossils and gems to basic geology. Definitely worth a visit even if you arent looking for a map.

We love this bookstore!Everything from birding to mining town of Utah to topographical maps to prepare for intense outdoor activities can be found here.The staff are always extremely friendly and knowledgeable, meaning you can find what you need to prepare for that long hike in a lesser-known spot on BLM land or even national parks.

Amazing little bookstore. So many wonderful books. Their map selection is unlike anything youve seen and you can get a map of any part of Utah you could need or want. Google maps is great, but these paper maps are extremely valuable when planning or executing a trip into the wilderness. Cant tell you how many times Ive been screwed by the Googles in the outback. (I still love you Google maps)Employees arent exactly friendly, per se, but go talk to them and they are FULL of knowledge. Super smart and interesting folks.Definitely worth the trip if you need a map or any specialty book about anything outdoor in Utah.

A super cool collection of books you wont find elsewhere. Books on enjoying the wild areas in Utah, geologic sites, finding treasures, out of the way places to explore. I could spend a fortune in this place. Very cool maps as well.

This store has every kind of map of Utah you would every think of. My husband is a pretty big outdoors man and he loves going here. They have a few books about local history and local hiking/camping/hobbyist stuff. Its pretty little but they guys working are always able to help.

This bookstore is the best! They have 7.5 minute maps of Utah, as well as select areas of surrounding states. The books are interesting and of use to anyone looking to learn more about Utahs geology and enjoy the great outdoors.

Great collection of resource materials for sale, from topographic maps, guides of all types from geological to historical to paleontological, plant and animal, and a nice selection of books on many topics. Well worth a visit. Free visitor parking in front.
