Unfortunately I didnt have a great experience having my Vienna fixed. I dropped it off because it was leaking a bit, making weak, watery coffee and giving me an error. It was also pretty dirty and I hadnt cleaned it in a while. I left it with the owner and he was very nice and told me it might be 4-6 weeks out and made sure I knew it wouldnt be ready right away. I appreciated the heads up. I got the machine back about 6 weeks later. My wife went to pick it up and when I got home from work I made a test cup. The coffee was watery and the machine sounded awful and the red light came on immediately. Naturally I was frustrated. I am very handy so I took the entire machine apart, piece by piece. I ran all of the plastic and the brew group through the dishwasher and then reassembled everything. I then took the brew group apart and realized it was missing the glass ball under the spring that controls pressure (I assume). Luckily I actually had a ball bearing of about the right size so I put that in the brew group, put it back in and made a test cup. The machine worked perfect. This entire process took me about 3 hours, including waiting for the dishwasher to finish).I email Shea to see if they would consider a refund because I got the machine back broken and dirty. Their response was quick, which was appreciated, but they did not entertain a refund. They said they had fixed a leak and they would warranty their work. Thats like taking a car in that wont start and they fix an oil leak and give it back and it still wont start. They said You described working on the brew group and the ball that somehow was lost, we did not work on the ball valve you described so it may have been lost before we saw the machine. Yes, that is why the machine wasnt working, which is why I brought it to Shea to fix. Unfortunately I had to diagnose it myself, clean it myself, pay them to fix a leak but not the coffee maker, order the new glass ball myself and now will install it when it shows up.Everyone at Shea is very friendly and the communication is great but I just cant give more than two stars after getting back a broken machine that I had to diagnose and fix myself. Furthermore I was really surprised to get my machine back without as much as a damp cloth wipe down. Even the quick lube guys wash your windows and sometimes vacuum the car when you pay for a $30 oil change...I dont like giving bad reviews but I think honest customer reviews are important in this day and age.
Not only once, twice, but three times Shea has fixed my Saeco Vienna Expresso machine! Done an excellent job, as usual. Very personable guy. He has made this machine last longer than it should! Thanks, Shea!
Shea resued and repaired our beloved Nuovo Simonelli OSCAR espresso machine. It had been in storage for 7 months and refused to start. Shea gave it a thorough going over it it is once again making primo espresso. Thanks!
