I would rate this the 3rd best Savers in the SLC area. Not an easy to access location plus the layout seems all weird and out of sorts. Overall though you cant beat this chain for price, diversity and colored tag deals of the week. The wall finds in home decor, office and that NEVER disappoint. Some of the best treasures are in those oddball bags, trust. Dont forget your own bag to take your stuff out in or youll have to buy one there...still for cheap but carbon footprint watching and all.
Great place with lots of great finds. The staff is friendly and helpful and the store is always clean and organized. Perfect place to shop if youre looking for high quality cheap items and a corporation that gives back to nature and the community. Used to work here years ago, loved it then and love it now.
Organized store just wish they had better products.
They are a for profit store. they do not help anyone unless you go across the valley and impossibly get a pile of paperwork and bring back all the while no car and homeless. then maybe if your packs are stolen and your girl works Monday (it being Saturday) you might be able to get a couple of clothing items so she can keep her job 😓so thoroughly disappointed. Ive been watching carload after carload full of things and clothes being donated to this store.it makes my stomach turn.
I got my first ironing board when moving to Salt Lake City here at this Savers.Luckily I was familiar with Savers and had been before, unlike some other thrift store chains I’ve had to try.Everyone working here was friendly. They do specials based on colors or what day of the week it is.I want to say Tuesday’s was senior discount days but don’t quote me on that!Only one of a few Savers in Salt Lake City but it’s worth it and location size is huge.
Pretty decent thrift store. Didnt find anything I was looking for, but they have a lot of stuff.
Probably the most impressive thing about savers is their customer service. Most of the individuals are happy to help you search for just the right item that you’re looking for. I’m very grateful for Stephanie in particular and her Sherry attitude.
Always love going to any thrift store and finding all kinds of (usually) cheap treasures!
Overpriced. They have steadily increased prices on second hand goods until it’s cheaper just to buy new. Know your market Savers. In addition, don’t take AMEX. I won’t be coming back.
Savers is a great place to drop off items that you dont have a use for anymore! And you can get something there that you need or want for whatever it might beWithout paying a lot of money elsewear!Retail prices! Stores!Depending on what it is! Quality of!Susan williams.
Good finds here. Just be sure to plug in anything that requires electricity and make sure it works. Got stuck with a couple items that didnt work because I didnt check them out first.
I really hate to write this review as I have donated $1000s of dollars in donations to Savers but after today’s experience I will NEVER GO BACK. Their website and phone messages both indicate they will take donations until 6pm. When I pulled up today w my donations at 3pm the attendant was standing there with his A-frame DONATION CENTER CLOSED sign. When I asked if he would let me drop my handful of donations he VERY RUDELY replied with a resounding NO. When I told him I’d brought over $1000 in donations over the last month he shrugged his shoulders & said “we close just like any other business” and was not willing to budge. I proceeded to call the store manager asking why they were not taking donations till 6pm as they advertised & she said they ran outta room today. I told her how rude the attendant was to me & I have never been treated so rudely when dropping off free donations in my life & I WOULD NOT BE BACK. THIS EMPLOYEE SHOULD BE FIRED FOR HIS TREATMENT OF A FREQUENT CUSTOMER….sorry Savers I WILL NOT BE BACK. Take ur stuff to DI or Big Brothers/Big Sister where they actually show appreciation for donating your things that make them money.
I have been a loyal costumer to this savers for months. But not anymore. This store has become a thrift store nightmare like goodwill. Upcharging free donations. In no fare second hand store is a plain hanes t-shirt 8.99. They recently changed their dressing room policy and no longer allow anything tried on in store. They make you take time out of your day to come back to return it and then tell you whether or not they will return it. (Only for in store credit that matches the exact purchase price...) The policy needs to change or more and more people will go elsewhere. For me and my $, I will be going to Deseret Industries.
Employee working so hard, enforcing the company every single day. They deserve applause for their hard-working employees. Those people here writing one star on here arent true, that I guarantee.
Super deal on books! Such a great selection of odds and ends lots of good quality clothing.
Didnt like how I was treated in this store when I picked something up from a cart from a employee. I felt scared and uncomfortable. Ive spent thousands of dollars here, will think twice when buying a big item again.
Great place always find something good!
Clean nice set up and awesome staff
Most excellent! After spending my last few thrifting trips at the Sugarhouse DI, this place was a breath of fresh air. Way better selection, way better organization, way better vibes all around. Will definitely make Savers a regular for my thrifting needs.
Prices are great, I didnt find anything that I wanted. My friend found a large area rug very nice only $2.99. Dont forget to ask for senior discount if your a senior.
Its a fairly well organized thrift store, quite clean.
Worse donation process ever. They need to have someone in the parking lot redirecting traffic. While waiting in line patiently there were two drivers that were able to cut in line. There were plenty of employees standing around. Clearly they could have allocate a person to direct traffic especially since they are no longer allowed to help you with your donation. I never thought being charitable could be so painful.
I find so many great things at Savers and spend far too much money. Its nice to get items for a reasonable price and keep things out of the landfills.
Prices are a little high. They seem to think its dillards or something. Its a second hand store people. Its like going to a yard sale. Other then that its clean and good service.
I have decided I really like this location, because they have people that buy nice clothes and things, and then donate them here when they are done with them. I was emailed a notice stating there was a sale that would give me 50% off clothes and stuff starting today, but I couldnt find the email so I didnt get the discount. That was frustrating, cuz I didnt plan on spending what I did ($100+), at least I actually had that much in the bank. 😩
No plans to reinstate dressing rooms. Long lines to check out. Need more than one cashier. I was number 6th in line. I waited over 15 minutes.
I really like this Savers. Good clothes. Fair for homegoods. High prices for books.
Overpriced stuff. The DI is half the price on most stuff I see in there. Hate the way they bag small items. I do not have time to look at small bags. I get a headache just going in there.
Good prices for books, good size organization for clothes
Great place to buy used items. Love the customer discount as well whent from a little over 200.00 to 190.00 walking out with all that I bought.
Like all thrift shopping, Savers is hit and miss for having what you want tor like. I have had some really good hits with high quality brands at good prices. If you can buy high quality at the price walmart charges for new, lower quality items, that is a great deal.
They have permanently removed their fitting rooms. And still only allow exchanges. Will be taking my business and donations elsewhere.
The employees here are so nice!
Your drop off process is very inefficient. Always a 20-30 minute wait. The workers sit and chit chat with people dropping stuff off. There are 2 lanes but only 1 used. Come on people! It should only take a minute or two to empty a car!
Post your donation hours, and SAVE people the drive. They are not the same as store hours and are not listed online. 10-5 is an impossible window if you work full time. Got turned away with a car full of stuff even after talking to the manager and explaining that I was someones ride to the hospital in the morning. I understand if you are not able to keep up, but communicate that online and dont waste peoples time. Maybe make a more convenient window of time for people who have never stopped working through this whole mess. Thank you.
Long lines to donate but they moved fast.
Great selection of used clothing. They are not tattered but they have been used
Extremely unfriendly employees, overpriced items and Savers does nothing for the community in regards to service and oppurtunities compared to the Goodwill or Deseret Industries. Go out of your way yo donate to the Goodwill or DI as it is for a good cause and Savers is not.
Great prices, wide selection of housewares to jewelry and everything in between. One of my favorite second hand stores.
Clean and organized. Best organized book section Ive found in Salt Lake.
The lady there is very personal
This is a pretty good place to pick up used clothes, books, and classical music on cd 💿 !
Open scrapbook cover wasnt priced. Manager called and he said it was $11.99! Haha i thought he was kidding but he was dead serious. There were other covers there priced 2 bucks. I asked him about that, but manager just walked away in perfect 1-star form.
This is the good Richie rich savers. You find the good stuff here
I find what I am looking for the majority of the time at Savers! I really like the stores, and the programs they support.
Very messy saly lake store, also overpriced
They are becoming way too picky about what theyll accept. Even high quality items in perfect condition of the type that they have for sale in the store. Im done giving them the inventory they profit from. One example, I pulled out a christmas snowman decoration that had never been used, brand new condition, and was told they cant accept it. No way I was going to continue to pull out the many other things I had to donate and have each one judged for its worthiness. When I complained the guy told me to blame the government! I ask why and he said he didnt want to get into a political discussion... please!
At what point does a store stop being a thrift store? I went there today and saw a pair of used American Eagle jeans priced at $28.99. Thats about twice what they sell for on Poshmark or eBay. Id say a store stops being a thrift store when theyre asking $28.99 for a pair of jeans.
Its a great store most the time! My favorite place to get pants and coats!!!
Senior Day is awesome!
Friendly staff. Good inventory and I can always find multiple things I like
Savers can be a hidden gem. I always have good luck there.
Nice staff, clean store.
Love to go to Savers, employees are nice, good prices
This particular location is fairly small, but the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Worst savers I have ever gone to .....if I could give them a zero star I would!!!! I bought my merchandise a week ago in Layton and went to the savers because I was in the area to exchange a couple things that my kids didn’t like. I knew that one of the tags had fallen off and apparently I put the wrong tag back on. Mind you I bought over 20 items on my receipt. So apparently a couple other tags have been torn and they would not give me an exchange because they had been torn even though they could see on the receipt that I had bought all of the items that I was bringing back!!! Come to find out after talking to my kids they had taken off a couple of the tags by accident and put them back on without telling me when they tried them on. But the manager Tom Calder...whatever could’ve used some common sense in looking at my receipt to see that I paid for all of the items. Nobody at the Layton store has ever acted like this and now I have to travel 30 miles on the due day to get any kind of return out of this .... They treated me like garbage ....like I was a freaking thief which is bullS!!!!!! I will never return to the store again!!!!!
A lot of great finds today!
Organized and well maintained. Found 5 shirts and spent under $20 for all. They also offer a 20% military discount. Very generous!
Not all thrift stores are created equal. I have to say, this Savers is my favorite thrift store in Salt Lake (compared with DI and Goodwill) I am always able to find new-ish quality clothes for myself and kids, and some quirky vintage pieces, which is fun. I like how the store is organized, and the furniture is not overpriced. Also, you cant beat the Halloween costumes here in the fall. I was able to find something for everyone here for cheap!!
This is the most overpriced Savers Ive been to. They have a great mystery book selection. Found a few cute flannels for the fall too. Overall its a clean organized store.
Odds and ends, collections of those who are gone, massive amount of used CDs but very few are in usable shape, records, dvds, kitchen items from one end of the spectrum to the other (depending on the day and donations), tons of glassware, kids toys, and clothes for everyone. They also have jewelry, and specialty items behind the glass. Everyday and every location is different and like a new store every week. Also they are big on the Halloween costumes, decorations, and miscellaneous items all new or course.
It is true what some of these reviewers are saying. They have very nice merchandise and I shop there often, but they are marking the merchandise higher and higher. They have also reduced the percentage of discount you can earn for donations or large purchases. When you do earn discounts they expire very quickly. I think management ought to realize that most of their customers are the ones doing the donating!
I love this location and shop here all the time. I would have given it 5 stars if Thomas hadnt been such a jerk tonight. Message to management: your employees reflect your business and you dont need guys like Thomas being jerks to your patrons. Let him go!
Great location, this location has so many nice things and clothes. Everyday they have a different color tag at 50% off so theres always a great bargain. The store is clean and the customer service is friendly found lots of good odds and ends in this location. Best location around SLC.
I was dropping things off in the donation line when my car battery decided to die... two employees pushed my car out of the way and the manager came and jumped my car. Very nice people! I can’t thank them enough!
So I know that they get most of their items by donation (free) and that they still have the overhead of building, employees and utilities, does that just justify rarely having cashiers and now charging for bags? I dont think so.Granted its not the cleanest store, so I know their not terribly concerned by how the store looks either.I like going thrift shopping and the fact that most usually benefit the community. Im finding it hard to keep all that in mind now when I go to this store. So its highly unlikely that Ill be shopping or donating here any longer.
Much cleaner than a D.I. or Goodwill, in my experience. Reasonable prices for a secondhand store. I like how the store is laid out, makes it easy to find what youre looking for. I especially liked how the books were grouped by category. Very helpful.
Savers used to be fantastic about 4 years ago. They started really ramping up the prices and it became worse over time. When I found a top at Ross for cheaper than they were selling it at Savers, that is when I started to become more disappointed. As far as the store itself goes, they are great and I love this store and location. The employees are always friendly and it is very well organized.
Mostly clothes. But thats not the store fault. I do see a lot of people in here usually. They tend to like the selection of clothing.
Good prices and to move merchandise they systematically drop prices using a color code. There are incentives for return shoppers.
I always seem to find great selection of clothes. However, their prices are a bit high for thrift stores.
I love this location! They always have what I need! It’s kept relatively clean and the employees are nice
I came in on October 18th 2017, The costume consultant here is awesome! She helped me with ideas, and options and was extremely knowledgeable. Our cashier was also super friendly. I like this location a lot. Thank you! Awesome service.
I love shopping here! The prices are mostly good, sometimes they are a little high. I donate here often and they always have given me a discount card for 30 percent off my next purchase. So I usually buy a bunch of stuff at once and get 30 percent off the whole total. They have good hours and are even open until 8 I think on Sundays.
This location has so many nice things and clothes. Everyday they have a different color tag at 50% off so theres always a great bargain. The store is clean and the customer service is friendly. Best location around SLC.
Sell used items, good quality
Hey baby girl I dont want to go home to the house and Id like to make it clear how much you know what I mean by using the picture of her with a total value for the next couple of weeks and she has a new way to make sure that your way to work in the next couple of individual rights reserved the picture above the law was passed by putting money into your big part of the two men were in a long period of of an old lady with the next step up place ell I was in bed with her and her husband was a question about the time when we used a lot more fun with some good stuff that you have been working hard to believe me Im not until I got my first saw the house with her even though I know you will be there by then I am going to buy a new car with my beautiful wife whom I think shes pretty close to the end of the road and pick her
I love this place! It is cheap and clean and the staff is so nice. I really like their punch card system. I go here all the time for name brands at a good price.
This company doesnt deserve my donations. Its no surprise there were 20 cars in line to drop off donations. It was a surprise the attendendant wouldnt accept the TWO items I wanted to donate by hand to deliver on foot to save time. The ungrateful woman couldve made an exception to accept the golf clubs and Slip n Slide I no longer use!
I was very disappointed in this Savers store. Although I did ultimately get what I came for, it was not a great experience. First of all, I saw several items there that were from Dollar Tree - and they had them marked for 1.99 and 2.99!?!? When I mentioned this, the lady was very rude and snide about it. She was very non-customer friendly. (I wish I would have thought to look at her nake tag). It makes me not want to go there anymore. You definitely need to know your prices and what is and is not a good deal. Many things there were WAY overpriced. One of the other stores I have gone to many times, the people there are so kind and helpful too. Not sure if I will go there anymore... would rather drive across town that get that ornery lady snapping at me again 😕
It really wasnt that good. You have to pay for your bags as u were leaving. The store was a mess and things were not easy to find or labeled right
The selection of both adult and children clothing is good. The other items (kitchenware, small appliances, Home decor, etc) is always fun to browse through. The prices can be reasonable for second-hand items. Just be prepared to look for the bargains.
I absolutely love this savers! I always find the best selection and everyone is so nice!! You can tell they truly love what they do! I donate and get a 30% off coupon. So I love it!
Nice thrift store. I find a lot of childrens books at this store. The toy selection is usually pretty sad. Mens pants is pretty good. It seems like a lot of people wear jeans once or twice and donate them.
Staff was incredibly rude while I was donating today. Will never shop there again. DI and goodwill definately getting my future donations.
Love this thrift store. I donate to, and spend way too much time shopping here. Love the book section. Very organized compared to other thrift stores. The dishwear can be expensive for being second hand. You can generally get new dishes and glasses for the same price if not cheaper somewhere else. Love that they support big brothers big sisters program.
Good Savers with plenty of options. Clean store although lots of items were on the floor from so many people going through them on Labor Day weekend. Nice store though, definitely recommend it.
This is my favorite Savers simply because of the selection. I always find excellent quality items here for reasonable prices. Perhaps it is the neighborhood but I usually always leave with what I came for.
Love shopping Savers..I go pretty sporadically and by doing so, I usually always find one or two steals..I mostly buy home decor type stuff ..sometimes furniture..most things I find are still in the original box..unopened..with a good price..its gun to shop there cuz its different every time and you never know what you might find...see for yourself
Make sure to hit this thrift every other day. 🖤 - Your local reseller
Savers is USUALLY my favorite thrift store, for many reasons. Better when the Halloween rush is over.
Usually l like to donate my kids clothes and stuff to this location.but not any more since l had bad experience here.when my girl tried on the dress she tear a l bit the tag ..when we went to pay the kind of Chinese cashier very rud told me the tag were removed & and began like paranoid checking all our staff saying we change the tags in most of the things that we have ..😡 we are not a robers ..is the last time that we buy something there. Doesnt matter that l had t drive more minutes to Dessert industries everything is cheapest than savers and the most important thing they have manners.
They have amazing clothing (you could even call it vintage), tons of books and movies and so many house items. I can always find something amazing
I like to shop there bec I have to be frugal with my money and i find what i need but every time i go their prices keep going up. I d like to know why. We supposedly shop at this places because we have to. Might as well go to department stores and shop their clearenced items.
