Had a great experience working with Burton Lumber. They had been contracted by our home developer to build our deck. However, we later discovered that the developers plan for the deck was not what we had originally been told. The developer and head contractor were not willing to help accommodate our request to revert back to the original plan (a bigger deck, stairs included, etc.) so we went to Burton Lumber directly. Working with Steve Ross was a great experience. He did all he could to make sure we got what we wanted. He even sent us photos of progress as they went along. We were super impressed with his responsiveness and willingness to help us when the other parties involved just chose to ignore us. Steve and his crew came back after we closed on the house to add the expansion to make the deck the larger size we requested, and they were professional and efficient. We love our deck and it is everything we hoped for.

Just spent 10 minutes trying to place an order for MDF and was bounced around to 5 different departments. Not the most competent company when it comes to building material.

We called to get a bid on an addtion we are doing and the sales person told us that unless we were one of their million dollar customers they couldnt sell to us during the lumber shortage. We will remember that and continue to take our little business elsewhere.

Bought 4 6x6x8 posts for my project. They are a bit pricey, but im impressed with the quality. Quick and easy service. Will be buying here again for sure.

Not a good place for home owners to purchase supplies. We requested a quote on Trex to build a 5x17 deck, they quoted 20, 16 and 12, placed the order, sold us wrong size pieces 20 and 16 only, no 12s, enough to build two 5x17s. They admitted to the error but only agreed to a small return of each size of the ones we need. We are stuck with thirteen 16s.

Ordered shiplap in for an installation A few days away. Some of the boards were damaged, one of the boards was seriously damaged. I had driven all the way out to pick up the product from will call. With the damaged product I would be unable to complete the installation I had scheduled. Although they were willing to order me a new piece, the recommendation was to just use the damaged piece. And they expected me to drive all the way back out to will call over an hour of driving on my day of installation to get the replacement board that they sold me. Not very kind, not very helpful, not very good customer service. I have been a loyal customer to Burton lumber, but after this experience, I think I will be looking elsewhere to do business.

Fast friendly service, excellent products and prices!

Left disappointed both times I’ve purchased from Burton Lumber. Sales and Trusses have been great to work with but the will call counter has zero customer service. First time I waited over an hour to get loaded. I had to call my sales guy from the Truss department to come down to will call to get them to load my order properly.The quality of lumber I received wasn’t good either. Both times they tried to load damages sheathing. The second time they didn’t have enough good sheets to complete my order. I asked for a discount on the damaged sheets and they told me the manager wasn’t in and they couldn’t discount them. They didn’t seem concerned so I told them to unload the rest of the order and refund my $536. I ended up going to BMC and they got me taken care of quickly for the same price and there was no damaged items.Avoid wasting your time with Burton Lumber and go somewhere where they care about customer service.

One of my doors showed up damaged and they got a replacement the next day. That was great! What was not great was that when I showed up in west valley to pick up the order, no one inside had a mask on. The girl helping me gradually pulled her mask up. The guy next to her put his on after 5 minutes but there was another man at the counter (employee) who never put on a mask. Then I went into the warehouse for my order. Not a mask in sight on any employees. When the guy brought my order and started towards my trailer to help load, mask less, I said dont bother, Ive got this. These people are part of the problem with soaring Covid numbers. Try being part of the solution! If it werent for the mask issue I would have given them 4-5 stars.

Very easy to work with, mine was a relatively small order ($89) for a commercial-oriented lumber supplier. They were enthusiastic, pleasant, and speedy, brought the order right to my truck. I highly recommend them and will continue to purchase from them.

Probably a 3.5. This company has great products. I was impressed with most of the lumber they delivered, although some of it broke and there was a bit that was junk. They did a great job at customer service in providing quotes. They were always very nice to me. Their pricing for some materials is suspicious to me. I would compare prices before committing to anything. For example, they wanted to sell me a Simpson hanger for $49.00 per hanger after quoting me $16 for it. I bought 24 of them thinking they were $16 and ended up paying 1200! After some conversations with the price people, they were willing to work with me on getting a full refund. I was happy with their willingness to do that, although I hope they got the issue cleared up with that part number. I ended up getting the part for $9 each online.They were willing to work with me and were flexible on restocking fees and stuff that arrived broken or not in good condition.

When we originally started our build, the contractor had us working with a different lumber/building materials company. The other company had poor selection and really poor customer service. The switch to Burton was great! Brad was our representative and he was super helpful. Not only did we get the basic lumbar packages, we were able to get great pricing on interior doors and hardware finishes (cabinet knobs/pulls and doorknobs). Called about a garage door and got a quote. Messaged back twice to try to start the process and never heard back from the 2 contacts I was working with. Decided to go with another company. Guess they didnt want my money. Disappointed that they couldnt be bothered to even respond to emails and numerous phone call messages.

This is the best door shop in the state. Cody was my salesman and he was great. Always got back to me quickly with the 100 questions I must have asked. Now I have the front door of my dreams and the neighbors are jealous. Cody also help 2 of my neighbors with new front doors.Pricing was the best I found and the service was excellent. Called to see if they had what I needed. They assured me they did so I drove 45 minutes to get the parts. When I showed up it was the worst customer service ever. They told me they didnt have what I wanted and the person I talked to must have miss understood me. Guarantee Ill never be back.

This place is a joke! We came in at 7:06 am and at 8:00 am, we still didnt have one board of our order on the trailer. We spent 2K just today, and they took almost 1 hour and 30 min to finaly start working on our order. There where 2 forklift drivers that tipped some product over, it was embarrassing and unsafe place. There is no employee here that cares about anything or anyone. I even saw a forklift driver on his cell phone for a few minutes before getting our and loading some boards on. Its an embarrassment of a company. I hope they at least try to fix it...... Im still waiting for our order, but Im going to submit this bad review because apparently I have time.

This is a great place, I am sure. Unfortunately, I cant speak to their prices or product quality, but I can speak to their customer service via telephone. I have been needing a large amount of lumber and would like to get more information before I place my order. When I call, the receptionist, who is very nice, puts me through to the shop - or somewhere - and no one ever answers. I have left messages with the receptionist and on an answering machine and no one has gotten back to me. It is really frustrating.

Burton’s doors shop has the best customer service, and can’t beat the prices for all my finish products.Would recommend them to anyone. Nice to have a one stop shop for all my building materials.

Huge facility truss plant, lumber, doors and a siding stain shop

Burton Lumber is my go to lumber and hardware supplier. From 100,000 sq ft apartments to a basement finish. Burtons sales personnel are very knowledgeable and have the best contacts with the local vendors. I cant say enough about the truss and turnkey divisions, they have saved me countless dollars with their attention to detail. Shipping is by far the best around, they will receive and deliver an accurate order faster than any supplier I know

I worked with these guys as one of the movers who unloads the truck at construction sights. The company paid us adequately and treated us with respect. My crew and I tried to make things as convientient as possible for the builders, and we sometimes helped other workers with small side tasks.I left for a fulltime job and Im not sure what the new crew is like. Probably similar to what is was when I was working with them.

Dispatch has been incredibly friendly and easy to work with. I didnt know what hangers and lumber to get and I was able to talk to them on the phone a few times and at the store and they helped get me situated. They have materials in stock that would take home Depot a week to have delivered.

Not too fast but theyre doing much better than last year.Just one thing::: They hAve several boxes with doughnuts and I asked Ed the desk guy if I could have one ( Im diabetic and the wait was really killing me) he said No, sorry thats for salesmen onlyWe just spent over 500 dollars and he couldnt even share one doughnut? I thought myself..well its not their obligation to share ANYTHING with customers. Thats why ABC supply and Lansing will always be the best customer service they give you popcorn and sodas, etc for their customers..Oh well I hope Ed realizes that he dont need more doughnuts, not good for his weight size.

Very Poor. Contacted Sales in Salt Lake via several phone calls and emails and no return calls. Eventually was able to speak to sales and sent them pictures and diagrams of what I wanted with promised bids by the next day. Nothing happened. Always the next day so I gave up and called Burton Lumber in Lindon. Same thing. Eventually, It became more hopeful where I received a return email about questions before bid could be finalized and exchanged email a few times to set an appointment. Showed up for the appointment at their facility but only a no show. No response or call backs. I suspect they only have time for the large sales or contractor volume. Im going to try Stock.

Utah customers are so freaking harsh... it’s 1 star or 5 stars?! C’mon... be reasonable, you 1-Star voters... these guys have grown and stuck around for decades, not because they go around earning a 1-Star review.

Called in and spoke with gary smith sales manager in regards to getting a new home construction lumber take-off...he stated we will give you a estimate only if your going to use us but not just to give you a one for nothing...I stated of course...but I need to know the cost 1st...I said Im not going to say yes and not know the price first.. who would even do that? He continued to ramble on and say it will take 5 days and all the excuses so I maybe I just hang up...or just say never mind! I then contacted the manager on duty and he says well gary just said it the wrong way...he should of told you we dont have time for people who build 1 house and you should go somewhere else were to busy but he did say it nicely! Of course there is two sides and more to the story...but I cannot believe the way they handled it...from the beginning they should have said there too busy, call someone else...instead they continued the call hoping for the big project and passing on the little people.

Great selection of in Stock materials and all the staff is very helpful. Good quality products as well, much straighter lumber than the big blue and orange boxes.

Terrible place. No one will help you with anything or bother to even talk to you if you are an average homeowner. Unless you are a contractor, go somewhere else where they actually know customer service and dont just cater to contractors.

Terrible customer service. Spent close to $10k in doors throughout the house and almost every door needed modification to fit, even when they were given the original doors from the house to cut them from. Did I mention they lost our original doors? Multiple full frame doors were far off from the measurements given and no effort to make things right were even remotely offered. Instead was told a custom door could cost me over $200k. Customer satisfaction is non-existent and would never go back. Thomas Lee messed up on multiple transactions and I should have learned my lesson the first time.

They gave me the wrong material and when I returned it they took away 25% of what I had paid ($ 200 less) the wood is definitely not in good condition and many of its products can be found at Home Depot for less than half the cost. I will definitely not buy here again.
