This store is WOW! My aunt is a retired professional baker and told me about this store. If you need cake related items, from baking pans to specialty baking/decorating tools to decorations, this is your store! Staff was very friendly & helpful. The store stocks items that are hard to find anywhere else. They have a good variety of cake decorations, themed cake decoration sets, premade icing flowers (all sizes, shapes & colors), packaged cake fillings, and even packaged icing . They also offer cake decorating classes!
I was so excited when I found Over The Top. I normally go to a place across the street but this one has better hours and a more unique selection. The staff are very helpful too!
The manager I had an encounter with was so dry and rude. Condescending even when I asked simple questions. Absolutely never going back to this store. AGS cake supplies and Sheer celebrations have way better customer service.

Every time Iβve come to purchase edible prints, the staff takes a incredibly long time. They can never seem to size my prints to my liking. Regardless of knowing they print incorrectly, they offer no alternative or solution to resolve the printing issue. Additionally, it seems that every time I have gone, the staff seems uncaring and offer zero assistance. Iβm almost afraid to ask for any assistance in fear that Iβm bothering them. Overall it feels like an unpleasant/uncomfortable shopping experience. Giving a one star because there was no half star option. Looking to sheer creations from now on.
I have been a long time customer. I have to say, the employees are getting progressively rude. It used to be a nice experience. Not so much anymore. π
Havent a hard time putting thing back on the shelf. when they run out of certain items it take several months to stock again which is bad for business.

Diane was working and was the one to greet me, she was very nice and made sure to let me know to have to hesitation to ask her anything. She was very helpful and kind. She was very knowledgeable too. The store was clean and very organized. The selections of sprinkles, packaging, flavor essences and so much more was abundant! They also have a rewards system for frequent customers. I signed up and definitely going back!

My daughter and I have made wedding cakes for about five years now. There are several options for buying cake supplies in San Antonio and on line. However we consistent enjoy dealing with Over the Top and return there again and again. They carry quality fondants and supplies. I also like supporting a local business. Most importantly, they are a pleasure to deal with and treat small business owners like us well. My daughter does most of the shopping. She likes that they always remember her.

We came here for a class with our daughters (ages 4 and 6) and had a blast! We decorated frog cookies! The class was well planned and easy to follow. Thank you for making our girls day! My Daughter was so proud of her creation that she hesitated eating it. She ate it a few minutes lateππ€£

Went to a cake decorating class with my 10 year old. We had a great time. The store is great, lots of unique things to purchase-- but the classes are even better. My daughter loves watching baking shows and this was up her alley. We didnt bake anything- but decorating is just so much better!!!
Omg I love this place, they had everything I needed and stuff I didnt know I needed..... And the rewards program is awesome, my first visit got 20β off and earned enough pts for a free item! Oh and I didnt get here name but the woman who helped me was awesome, helpful, informative, patient and kind! I ALWAYS use this cake supplies shop. Mrs. Diana is the reason why... she is AMAZING! My husband and I have always had great a experience here until today. I call 6:35 p.m I ask the mix girl with glasses if u guys close right at 7 she said yes but she had a attitude so I looked past it. We arrive 10 mins before it closed she looked annoyed that we walked in. She NEVER ask if we needed help she just stood there huffing and puffing with an attitude. When we asked question she answered them but with a tone, like she just wanted us to leave. She was NOT helpful or friendly at all. I noticed I grab the wrong item, my husband went in to trade it. She once again started huffing and puffing and making faces. She then proceeds to lock the door 1 minute before closing time. I spent $70!!!! As I do every other week. I understand everyone has bad days but her behavior was unacceptable.

I love this place! So many cake decorating things I never knew existed are here. My sister is a cake decorator, but I love tagging along with her here! The employees always offer to help with any questions and already know my sister!
I bought chocolate buttercream icing on Thursday and didnβt have enough so I went back this morning for more and am disgusted at what I found. There was MOLD inside the icing!! I threw my original receipt away from Thursday (thinking I could trust the stuff I bought) and now they are giving me a hard time and not wanting to refund my money back from Thursdayβs trip. I am disappointed and disgusted to say the least. PLEASE CHECK THE ICING YOU BUY FROM THIS PLACE! Now I have to buy a completely new cake for my grandpas 74th birthday. This is absolutely upsetting.

Everything you need to bake a cake is in here. My friend is an aspiring baker and refuses to use any other source for supplies. Its local, always fully stocked, and its always a delicious turn out when you use Over the Top Cake Shop!

Not enough variety of supplies. Hardly anything there compared to AGS Cake Supply across the street! It was quiet as a mouse in there....no other customers and not a sound. Not sure how they stay in business.High prices after comparing to others.
I travel an hr just to get cake supplies from here because they pretty much always have everthing i need for my cakes. And they are super friendly and helpful.

I am shocked at the lack of customer service I received here!I have been going to this location since it opened in January, I was actually waiting for it to open for at least a month since the other cake supply store in the area closed down. I have a small business selling custom cakes, cupcakes, and baked goods. I am also enrolled in an online business program with Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts. As part of this program we have to go through the steps of opening your own business. Naturally I chose a custom cake bakery. I thought I could knock out 2 birds with one stone and learn how to run my small business even more efficiently. As part of the class we have an Excel spreadsheet that includes ingredient prices, material prices and price calculator to help cost out orders. It came time to gather the cost of my materials (boxes, boards etc,). Since I normally shop at OTT I went there to see if they had a printed list of prices, I was told they didnt. So my next thought was to take pictures of posted price tags to have when pricing out orders. I was then told that pictures werent allowed to be taken in the store, I somewhat understood that. So then I asked if I could write prices down, I was told by the sales assistant that was fine. So I came in a couple days later with paper and pen, politely waved at the same sales assistant from the other day, am about halfway done writing down prices when the manager comes out. I explain exactly what I was doing to which she responded Im not allowed to do that. She suggested I look online, but most of the supplies are sold in bulk and requires shipping. As a business that is geared towards small cake businesses youd think theyd welcome that. Any business has to make sure they have theyre overhead costs covered. I had no intention on posting/selling prices to anyone. I was just trying to be a responsible business owner and the fact that they dont welcome that is completely absurd!

Revisited this place, think I judged too harshly the first time around. A few things here I think are still a little pricey but the staff are wonderful. My mother and I have begun purchasing a lot of our supplies here.
