I love this place! The decor and vibe are on point, including the great music selection.I had a honey lavender latte that was delicious and not too overwhelming on the flavors, as florals often are. I also had the oatmeal with fresh fruit and it was a little bland but I kinda like that in oatmeal anyway. They were also very accommodating and I was able to get oat milk with both of the items I ordered. They have a little shopping section near the door with some really cool items including shirts, jewelry, mugs, and hats. Can’t wait to go back!
Very nice place, you can tell much pride is put into all the details. So surprised to find la good mexican inspired restaurant on this side of town. I had the taco called The Extra which contained black beans, bacon, white cheese, and avocado slices on a homemade flour tortilla and it was damn good. No worries because they have the pinto kind also. They have traditional favorites as well as several new options.. Including baked goods and fresh squeezed juices. The decor is beautiful and the staff is awesome,
Some of the best breakfast tacos in the area. The food is always fresh and the tortillas are incredible. We love the vegetable quesadilla and breakfast tacos (too many good ones to list). Convenient location as well!
They had me at fresh orange juice😍.... tacos did not make it in the pics😁... excellent customer service, great ambience, loved the music... price ok for the area and the establishment...I tried La Dama I would recommend 🥰 and the fresh orange juice was delightful.... I ordered a Carne guisada and chicharron verde and they were ok( its very hard and sometimes unfair to rate a taco when youre 1000% mexican😁) and I would order them again. I would definitely recommend this place.
Some of the best Mexican food Ive had! Staff is always super nice!
Traveled to come eat here on Sunday, they’re google info said it’s open. It was recommended by a friend, maybe the food is good, but their customer service info is totally the opposite. So, no they are not open on Sundays people. It’s the small details that count as well, hopefully they fix this. SMH 🤦♂️
Grabbed the veggie street tacos to go and they were really good. But I also ordered a caramel latte and was a little disappointed that they didnt have oat milk. The non-dairy options are coconut milk and almond milk. Im allergic to nuts and coconut milk changes the flavor of a drink too much. Plus there was no fat free milk. More milk options would be awesome.
Delicious and trendy. It was nice to see them make fresh tortillas as I ate my lunch. Quality food right there
Tacos and coffee were great. I liked that the tables had a nice distance between them inside. We went when they just opened so it wasnt very busy. Probably about 5 other customers inside. Would definitely come back here again for tacos and coffee.
The coffee was great, and the vibe was even better! The heated drinks came in cute clay? cups, and the iced coffee came in mason jars. We came in the morning, and they were baking things, so there was a bit of smoke in the cafe, but everything else was immaculate!
The tortillas were fresh. The ingredients in the food were also fresh. I highly recommend coming here!
I was so grateful that they serve breakfast tacos all day. They dont make homemade corn tortillas, though. They are packaged but flour tortillas are homemade. I got a barbacoa taco with onions and cilantro (optional). Taco was not greasy at all and very tasty. 😋 I got my taco to go but the atmosphere looks very pleasant. They also have a table or two outside on the sidewalk. Very relaxing atmosphere.
This place is awesome. i was going to put more but awesome covers it4.99999999 rating, I only give God perfection.this place is the best.
Food there taste great. Definitely would go back to eat there if Im in the area.
Very good food, great customer service, spacious seating 😷 & I like the med ctr location. Not bad for a Saturday!
Food was cold...could tell bacon and potatoes were pre-cooked. Place was clean.Pricey for Mexican food.
This place is easily my favorite coffee shop in San Antonio. I wasn’t a big fan of coffee, but Cafe Martinez has changed that. The atmosphere is great for studying and/or hanging out with friends. The food is fresh and very tasty (I really like their Cesar salad aka Cafe Martinez salad, buffalo chicken wrap, & empanadas). They also have special items that they add to the menu every once in a while and they’re pretty good too. Also, their spinach cake is definitely worth trying!
The coffee and food is really good. The music selection is good as well, but it is just a tad bit too loud for studying. Other than that small thing, it was a great experience.
Food was really good it was fresh and hot when I got home 😊🥰
Its about 3.5 stars for me. Really friendly and attentive service, the inside is pretty cool and has quirky little touches that make it fun (old fashioned bicycle hanging from the ceiling for instance) and the use of playing cards that are not the usual ones, and good coffee. I had a well pulled espresso shot and a decent cortado. The disappointment was in food (the empanadas were very so so ...they Argentinians wouldnt be happy) and the cakes while interesting (spinach cake anyone) tasted like they used cool whip instead of really cream which just throws the experience off.Fresh foods looked decent so maybe will try that next time. Decent coffee though and good service!
Excellent service, Excellent food. Great ambience to relax and enjoy a great cup of coffee with some tacos.👍😊
I love all the coffee drinks ! Today first time I tried the tacos....absolutely delish! Home made flour tortillas! Love the atmosphere too!
They seem to have expanded the menu to include breakfast plates and tacos. But I go for the empanadas! The beef empanada is a meal all by itself, and its made to order so its piping hot when it comes to the table! A little green chimichurri sauce on the side makes it perfect! They also have a great selection of coffees and teas!
Absolutely love this cafe! The food was incredible. The coffee, delicious! We loved the ambiance and the customer service. This will be our new go-to cafe! Highly recommend giving it a try. You will not be disappointed.
Food is absolutely delicious. The workers there are so polite and welcoming. Me and my friends come most Wednesday to do homework because its the perfect environment.
Our food was good. The service was okay. The chai tea is really good.
Such a cute aesthetically pleasing coffee shop. The staff was great, the service was amazing and the food was a+ highly recommend the avocado toast!
Really apeling to the eye, super comfortable with chairs and couches, lots of tables or benches, lighting is great if you want to go get a coffee and piece of cake and corner up with a book.I got their Chai latte aaaand its the best I had in a long time!! Way better than StarB, hands down!Staff was really nice and great selecting of hot /cold beverage and even food.
This was a great place to meet a business associate for chit-chat, business chat, breakfast, and coffee. When she left, I took advantage of the chill atmosphere and music to catch up on some online work. This was a great find! Its my new Medical Center satellite office! Thank you for the great Avacado Toast and friendly hospitality, Cafe Martinez! ~Agent Val
Food was good.. even potatoes.
Nice elegant place to read a book,do alil work just alil pricey
Yummy cortado, delicious tiramisu, and lots of other cakes and coffee and tea options I want to try out! 10 out of 10, Ill be back! Staff was friendly and courteous, no wait, and comfortable seating areas with a laptop bar for working.Went back today for the first time in ages, and it was just as good! A word of caution: if you dont like to wait and relax with your drink before your food comes out a while later, dont be mad if you end up waiting a while for it. Its on Argentina time, OK? I think the southern hemisphere likes to enjoy their meals rather than rush through them American-style. The service was great, and one of the owners was there and came out to talk to me as well. I made them a few greeting cards and was gifted a free dulce de leche cheesecake for my efforts. Ill be back again and again! I highly recommend the spinach cake... its just the right amount of sweetness and the pomegranate in it is delicious!
First time eating here, so nice to walk into a restaurant and not be bothered by a TV or music. Food was good, awesome tortillas, but coffee so so
First timer, very satisfied! Latte was very good as well as the breakfast tacos!
The prices is little high and they have a good foods.
Very friendly and helpful staff that can make recommendations. The barista was very skilled and made a beautiful cappuccino. Cant speak to the meals, but I had a croissant and it was also delicious. Additionally, the inside is decorated in a way that makes you feel warm and comfortable, but still very stylish as you would expect from a coffee shop. Plenty of seating for making yourself at home to study or catch up with friends! One thing I would say is that the espresso itself isnt particularly flavorful and was a little on the watery side, but it is certainly prepared well in the store and is much better than the average place.
I was recommended this place by a friend because we were talking about hole in the wall coffee shops and not getting chain coffees anymore. He raved about Cafe Martinez, so I decided to stop in. I got there a little after they opened, I think by about 25 minutes. Nothing was set up. One person was ahead of me and he ordered, but took a bit. There was only one person in the whole store I think doing everything. The menu looked really good, but when I asked if they had half and half they didnt have any, nor did they have heavy whipping cream. They had oat milk, regular milk, and soy milk. I was extremely disappointed as I am trying to be keto friendly and I dont like oat milk and soy milk. I ended up going to another place that served half and half. I would give it more stars had they been better prepared when they opened and had they had half and half or heavy whipping cream to put in my latte, but they didnt. I didnt even order, which was a huge let down. I wont be back.
Great tacos and coffee. The tacos were full and fresh. The coffee are great too. I got a latte and my husband got the cold brew. I highly recommend.
Good place to relax and have a coffee either by yourself or with a good company
This place has really turned around for the better with the new ownership. Same look, but a brand new menu sourced locally and organically. Everything Ive ordered had great flavor and portion. My favorites are the tacos and mint chocolate cold brew. The pastries sourced locally from a polish baker with unique and traditional varieties that are consistently well-made. I love the presence of the owners. If youve been here before months ago, you will tell a difference. Life, passion, and warmth has been breathed back into this cafe.
Great find! Nice place for breakfast and lunch, right across from the UT Health Science Center. Good food and very clean environment Coffee was awesome and service outstanding. We’ll be back. Thank you!
The best breakfast taco n coffee in town!!!
Good coffee choices. Varied menu. Very clean.
Waited over 45 mins to get my coffee and pastry. Was the first to order out of 8 other customers and got my things last. The baristas priority was to get the to-go coffees done first before the order of customers that came in to sit down and enjoy their coffee and pastry. They need someone else at the counter, not just one person.Update: coffee was not good at all. I ordered a Tazon with soy, extremely watered down. Let the barista know and she told me thats how it is. I responded with no, Ive had it here before and it has never been like that. She didnt bother to apologize at all, simply thats how the soy is. Had to change from 2 stars to 1. I noticed that a lot of the other customers orders were wrong too and she was going around telling them sorry. Very disappointed.
Ate here today with my brother, wife, and daughter. The coffee is great and street tacos are amazing. Prices are good and the quality of everything is fantastic. Owners are very polite and kind. The building is very clean. My brother works here and recommended it for street tacos and I highly recommend this place to anybody looking for good food or coffee. Absolutely fantastic.
I love their customer service and the fact that you can have coffee and tacos while you study! Their breakfast tacos are a large portion as well! Their regular coffee with creamer (which is coffeemate, I love that) is so good. They offer dine in right now which is great for students and they even sell some super cute mexican jarritos/other items. Love this place and will be sure to visit often!
Wow...Biggest/Fattest tacos Ive had in a while. Very fresh and hot. Tortillas are definitely made fresh...mmmmmmmm heaven in a taco..lol
The chicken empanadas, and the street tacos were so delicious. The caramel strata coffee and the dulce de leche hit the spot. Overall, everything was amazing and the people were amazing as well. Cant wait to go back soon!
Had a chorizo and bean and carne guisada with cheese both good. Coffee was good ask for the Abuelita Hot chocolate with an espresso shot, your welcome.
By far the best coffee ☕ shop in San Antonio 😋 if you havent hone your missing out . The owner is extremely nice .Always welcoming 😊 which tells alot about how much they love their customers. I give them 6 stars if I could..🌟 ⭐ 🌟 ⭐ 🌟 ⭐ They have the best coffee by far .. Me and my girl love it there and literally go all the time . 👍👍👍
Friendly and food is great thanks cafe martinez I m a truck driver so every change i get i pass close by there i stop
Good prices and the service from the staff are really really impressive they are kind and friendly.
Slow service expensive and rude
Found this place on accident. Great atmosphere and even better coffee. They also serve food. Had I know, I would have got lunch there because it smelled excellent. The staff is SUPER friendly and very attentive. I highly recommend
Have not been there to eat. See it as I travel to and from Audie Murphy VA Hospital. Checked menu. Seems to be Latin American coffee and breakfast place. Menu interesting so if if I get a chance I plan to stop.
The best handcrafted coffees with really unique flavors to try. I love the Bumblebee. Its coffee with honey and lavender in it. Tastes amazing!
Incorrect hours are posted on Google. They actually close at 4 every day!
Loved their Dulce de Leche coffee! It contains two shots of espresso 😋 I also had their grilled cheese and it was delicious! I heard the green cake was amazing but did not try it. This place has a nice atmosphere and very clean. Was not busy. A little on the pricey side, but everything I tried was very good and youre money is not wasted.
Best place to enjoy a breakfast and coffee.
Some of the best Chai Tea Ive had in San Antonio. The tacos were so fresh and tasted amazing. They do have seats cordoned off for social distancing. So no worries there. Definitely putting it as a go-to in my book.
Really nice and clean. The latte was fantastic! I would recommend to anyone.
Lovely place, great food selection, and very friendly staff.
Drip coffee was amazing. Excellent fresh made food. The place looks great and has a great atmosphere. Staff was super nice. This is the kind of place you want to come back to time and time again. Leave the fast foods behind and enjoy some real food and a great vibe.
WoW$$$I had the Grand Tano with a salad and cup of coffee it came out to be 16.51The coffee was nice seemed a little on the weak side and I think lacked depth. The salad was made of just iceberg lettuce with some pretty nice parmesan a tasty dressing and some prosciutto I do believe on the top.The hoagie roll as well as the rest of the ingredients on the sandwich where of very high quality and that my friends is how you end up with a $16.51 sandwich lunch.A little more than I was expecting when I stopped in for what I got. However I see where they spent the money and it seems that it actually works out pretty fair.Probably wont be on my priority list when Im in the market for a sandwich in this area next time however its definitely worth a try and if money is no object to you it certainly wouldnt be a bad regular Hangout.Im curious about some of those pastries I walked by when I left certainly left an alluring image in my mind.

It was so so but for the price it could have been better. They claim Argentinian food but only influenced not authentic at all. Its like going to a Mexican restaurant here in San Antonio and expecting authentic Mexican food, not going to happen. I mean mate is usually out of a certain type of cup with a metal straw, I got water with a tea bag. I probably could have just asked for free hot water and brought my own tea bag. I guess for being in the medical district this is typical but, probably wont be back.
