The location is a little hidden but very easy to get to. The building is older but I love the look and space. Two of the owners (these two dudes had scruffy beards) that were there the day I visited are super friendly, easy to talk to, interested in what you have to say, and love what they do. All these qualities make a great and lasting business. If youre looking for comic books (old and new), vintage video games and consoles, toys (vintage and new) and local art, this should be your spot. Support local! Support The Scruffy Nerd Herders! AWESOME new location!!! I used to enjoy their old spot at the mall, but this ones even better! Just full of retro charm (even the building itself). They have hands down THE best selection of unique video games, comics, and collectibles in town. Every time I go there, I ALWAYS find some real gems, and their prices are always good. Great dudes who work there and are as passionate as ever. Cant wait to go back! I got my eye on a few more goodies I just have to have. Go check it out! Youre gonna love it.

Super awesome place, my son is obsessed with all things “nerd” related and said this is his favorite store! The products are great, and the owner that we met was a really cool guy. He let my son talk about all the random video game related things, and went above and beyond to be sure he could get a Nintendo 64.

The clerk was super cool and took care of my friend and i super well. A lot of super hard to find books and beautiful artwork. It was amazing just chatting it up about all the weird quirks of comics. We left there with the utmost of satisfaction

Not being from the area I was visiting as many Comic shops as I could on this vacation. These guys don’t do current comics; which is OK. They have retro toys and games and back issues of comics. What they specialize in is great customer service. If only all comic shops could have nice and friendly staff as this one.

We had just finished lunch after coming from the museum. I had never been in this shop so we checked it out. I was there for 45 minutes looking through comics boxes, but during this time I heard the owner ridiculing the other comic shops in town. This was disturbing to me because I frequent four different shops in the city. When I went up to the counter to pay he said to me So this is how you choose to spend fathers, and looked at my kids with a sorry look. I felt so insulted. I couldnt believe this guy was treating a new customer this way. He had no right to judge me. Never going back.

I liked the store and my husband thought all the comics were the coolest. However its the owner and staff that are the real reason to visit because they are just awesome people! They made it an experience to remember! We will visit this store every time we come to San Antonio. 😊

Great shop for most nerdy needs, they have lots of single issue comics, graphic novels, vintage gaming items, prints and paintings. Figures, DnD needs, and the staff are great to conversate with. If youre a nerd its a must that you visit.

Are you a Marvel AND Nintendo fan? Then come on down to this little shop in the mall. They have A TON of Gameboy games here! Finally found Super Mario Land after searching all over town. I just wish they sold more Pokémon merch and TCGs and maybe even some metal band and wrestling merch too.

Very clean, and well organized. They have a massive collection of comic books including probably 50-60 highly sought after limited edition comics. They have a wide range of classic games for just about every classic gaming console. They also have several consoles for sale, and all seem reasonable priced. Highly recommend anybody who is look for nostalgic experiences to come in and look around.

Cool store with some vintage toys, the guys went out of their way to answer all my questions.

It feels like coming home to a safe place of familiarity and nostalgic euphoria. They sell and trade retro games, sell retro consoles, tabletop stuff, comics, and also hold weekly DnD sessions! I love popping in when I can, just to talk with the employees, feels like talking to extended family after not seeing them for years.

This place has all the videogames and consoles that I grew up with. Some of the prices are reasonable but they are some expensive items as well, It is a collectors shop after all. Great selection of videogames and comics. Everything is well displayed and organised. Shop is spacious and clean, I didnt buy anything but will go back to purchase some hard to find items in the near future. Ill take pictures when I go back and post with an update.

These guys know their stuff and are the reason I initially got into DND! I’m running a full fledged campaign now and branching out my knowledge of the game 😁 they’re like family a nice piece of Rolling Oaks that makes me love coming back

If youre into video games, comics, or collectibles, you NEED to go to this store stat. Its well organized, beautiful, and the owners couldnt be cooler guys. Theyre legit. Friendly too. Best of all, theyll treat you fairly on pricing, whether buying or selling. Thanks to them, I FINALLY scored several gems for some of my classic systems that I had been searching high and low for years on, and pricing was excellent on them. I havent been a video game/comic regular for decades, but now I will be again with this excellent shop. Glad to have discovered it!!! Will be back frequently. :)
