Purchased 3 double door merchandiser units from alamo. Broke with in a year. Wont pick up phone or honor or reimbursement for technicians to fix. I dont recommend them. Better to spend the money on used stuff same if not better results.

No rating the company was used to purchase not one but two coolers. We prepaid so that when our stores were built we would not have to discuss the unit type size parts and accessories a second time in order to avoid issues. Other than Bob Tole the sales rep that originally helped us the rest of the company is poorly run with employees that ignore your issue, and a manager, Jason, who quite frankly may be the reason. We requested our unit be shipped out when our store front was ready. As this was not our first delivery we had been told on the other unit to check the package when it arrived for damage. Now any one who has ever received freight knows, freight companies do not wait. That is why they even charge a lift gate fee or inside delivery charge. But Alamo sends you a form that says when the shipment arrives that you must check for damage or they do not assume responsibility. WE did implore for the delivery man to wait as we had someone on standby all day to be able to help up quickly open this wood crate (that has to be unscrewed by the way). The parcel said we were to receive one crate. Which we did. We checked for damage and signed for it. However once we could actually get in the crate and the unit we saw that all the extra accessories that were paid for at additional costs were not included. Two orders of gelato bin holders a total of 4 units at $35 a piece were not in the package. The whole sneeze guard kit was not in there at $300 and we had paid an extra $150 for a unit with LED lights installed. We brought this to their attention immediately. But by the time we were given a run around from employee to employee it took three weeks before the manager, Jason allowed himself to get involved. I later understood that he knew of our issue the whole time so actually he was aware that the employees were not giving me feedback or help in a timely manner. He was the reason. When we spoke instead of taking a minute to see the side of the customer I felt as if he was extremely accusatory. Blaming me for not knowing any better that there would have been a second crate on top of the first one with the accessories and that the fault was mine.Now I know a thing or two about shipping and I doubt that because some accessories did not come in they would have preferred that I decline the delivery all together. Also how was I to know they wouldnt have taken a different stand and told me that I should have kept it and get the accessories later and that now in order to receive the unit again it was up to me to pay for delivery a second time. Regardless of the back and forth aggravation the fact that their quality control person didnt do their job and was hiding the fact that they sent an incomplete shipment out, in the end they tried to negotiate !!!! I paid $900++ dollars for a unit that cost $425. I had to call in to find out what the value of what I received was as they would not break it down as I would have known that they were swindling me. But what I received was only worth half of what I paid. Yet they only were willing to send me one order of gelato baskets thats only 2 for a unit that fits 4... and a string of LED lights and they said I would have to pay for the sneeze guard I already paid for. When I argued this I was told take it or leave it basically. That Jason will not take my call and that I will not get 4 baskets. I was also told (very RUDELY) before he hung up on me that when the package comes to look at it and not sign it till everything was in there. Well guess what UPS said if I open it I have to sign for it. So again a clear case of how ignorant they are. I ended up getting a sneeze guard and one set of baskets. I was over charged and mis treated. This is the worst company to deal with Buyers beware

I purchased a freezer from Alamo in May 2018. Within three weeks the freezer was not working. Getting a repair under warranty was impossible with Alamo as they do not care at all about customer service. I had to go through the retailer to make Alamo help me. After sending out a warranty repair person, the freezer worked fine for one month before freezing up again. Another even greater effort to get the Alamo warranty team to come out and fix the freezer the second time. Move forward another month. Here we are again. Same problem, third verse! I contacted Alamo two days ago to get the warranty repair company out to fix the brand new freezer for the third time. As of today, no contact from anyone. So I call the warranty repair company to find out what their schedule is. And guess what...NO CONTACT FROM ALAMO! Basically, Alamo has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. It is a sad representation of what business in America should be. What happened to taking pride in products and service? I dont understand how a company like this stays in business, honestly. Leadership of Alamo....why have you come to this point? Take a long look at your leadership style and for the the sake of your employees and customers, CHANGE!

This place is an absolute joke. Spend 10k on freezers, get sent a broken one. Request to have it fixed and they sent someone out at night when we were closed. Now they have sent us to collections with no warning. They do not deserve your money I promise

I run a home based bakery and purchased a freezer for cakes & supplies. Its the perfect size for what I needed, and looks elegant inside and out. The saleswoman was not pushy, and was extremely helpful. Great price for a great freezer!

Their website advertised a freezer on sale. I inquired via phone thru sales to confirm price and availability with Brad. He then told me to email him my name, business name, freezers needed and he confirmed shipping price. I emailed him that same day. Two days later I called. He said the owner now decided the price is $300 higher for both. I asked why the price changed. His reply it is still a good price. Shady sales tactics.

These are bottom of the barrel products. Save your money and buy an inexpensiveAsian made import. You will get the same or better quality but with better warranty support and attitude of custome service

I own two small businesses and I purchased all my equipment through Alamo. This was the worst mistake ever. Not reputable, not responsive and not reliable. Absolutely no customer service skills. Run for the hills if you are thinking of using them. Best thing for this company is to go out of business and with the way they do business it won’t be long. Tell others to stay away!!!!

Ordered a glass door display freezer . came in with no shelves no clips a ding or two and very dirty . it took 2 weeks for replacement. Door will not close properly and compressor dose not keep proper freezing temp. Tec tell me as long as compressor is running there is no problem . And this is week six that I got this freezer. I STRONGLY Recommend That You Buy A Better Brand.

We ordered 2 units. One runs as expected. The other unit has been a headache from day one, arriving with busted doors. The technician has been out twice to try and get it within specs (adding refrigeration, then removing refrigeration), but it continues to run 10 degrees warmer then the unit next to it. Now Alamo wants to charge for the 2nd visit. 50% of their units are crap and they dont stand behind their product. Good luck if you buy one.

Worst company out there. Stay away from these people. They are thieves. I have a full year warranty on my coolers, but these crooks are refusing to honor it. In last 6 months cooler has been shut off more days than it has been working. They sell used products and tell people that the products are in new condition.

With regards to customer service and their working with me, I give them 4 stars. With regards to the product and their ability to find me someone to repair it I give them 3.I bought an ice cream pushcart in March of this year and had it shipped to me. Mind you my season doesnt really begin until June, so about all I could do was wait and see how well it worked. Upon the unit coming in, there were 2 significant dings in both top corns on the handle side of the unit where the push bar is as the damn shipping company (ESTES) strapped it down so tight in their trucks, they literally bent the push bar in on the unit. Not noticing this until after we get the unit off the truck and uncrated way after the driver left, I just decided to eat it and move on. The unit worked great for 3 weeks and then would NOT cool down to anything less than -10 at best, when it had been operating at -40 easy. The unit never once shut off from day one as a unit should cycle once the thermostat makes.So I call Alamo and speak to Josh and tell him my issue. Now I live in Ocean Isle Beach, NC and im situated halfway (40 miles either north or south of me) between Wilmington, NC and Myrtle Beach, SC. Youd think Alamo would have someone to direct me to so far as warrant repairs right? Nope. So after days and days I call back and speak to Josh as I need to get the unit repaired as its now July and Im in the middle of my prime selling season and I have no unit to use and he tells me hes having a problem in finding anyone that will do warranty repair and I tell him, what if I find someone to repair it, can we go that route and he says sure. Well I found one company but they couldnt find their azz from a hole in the ground, said he shot a little bit of freon in but it still wasnt cooling, and after it sitting there at his shop for 2 weeks, I picked it up and found someone else to repair it and the next day the guy calls me and says its got a pin hole leak somewhere inside the unit itself as its out of freon, so after telling Josh this, they instruct me to use some type of leak seal on the unit and luckily it worked. Although I didnt get the unit back until 4 weeks after it initially died on me I was glad to have it back and fixed.My biggest issues with Alamo is, I know its next to impossible to have someone in every conceivable area of the USA to do warranty repair but they need to take it upon themselves that when we, the buyers have issues, that they need to step up to the plate and just pay to have the item fixed and deal with the warranty issue with the manufacturer and Alamo, as I lost $200+ dollars a day in ice cream sales while my unit was down. This was my first year going into ice cream sales and I wanted to have an economical unit price wise but one that could do the job. The unit brand is from Portugal and had really good reviews so I know things will happen and break down, but I just would like to have not had to gotten as involved in finding someone to repair my unit.All in all, Josh was above average in helping me. I even spoke to the Owner of Alamo one evening just by happenstance, who was very helpful.07/04/19...i changed my review to 1 star. Why? This piece of shyt Fricon model (FTHG6FFE) is once again, broke down. 3 years in a row, either June or July this damn thing breaks down. 1st time was over 500 bucks..2nd time was right at 500...Dont buy this POS...buy a Nelson unit. It costs more money but no headaches in the operation of their units.

STAY AWAYWe purchased an ice machine which broke 2 months later. After 3 months of 3rd party tech coming out (while all this time purchasing ice retail at the cost of $500) the machine was deemed irreparable (which tech concluded on 1st visit). Alamo FORCED us to pay in FULL for replacement machine which and now 5 months LATER we still cannot get our money back. we had to file complaints all over in Texas because were located in NYC.Crap products peddled by thieves!!!!

We opened a retail store in November and purchased an Alamo upright freezer and it has caused us nothing but PROBLEMS. It goes into defrost and wont come out, then everything thaws out. This has happened 4 times in the last year and I have battled with Josh the tech supervisor and he always say clean the coils, and check the fuse. Well in May it happened for the third time and they finally replaced the display module. It worked fine till October 9, 2016 and it did the same thing again and Josh said sorry your warranty is up, and he said the same thing to check again. WORD OF ADVICE DO NOT BUY ANY EQUIPMENT FROM THIS COMPANY IT WONT WORK FOR LONG AND THEY JUST GIVE YOU A RUN AROUND TILL THE WARRANTY IS UP!!!! I WILL NEVER REFER THEM TO ANYONE EXCEPT TO NOT BUY FROM THEM. JOSH IS VERY ARROGANT TO DEAL WITH AND HE TREATS YOU LIKE YOU ARE STUPID. The old saying goes you get what you pay for and when you buy Alamo you get a piece of junk for your hard earned money!
