Simple efficient process. I walked in the door to order top dressing for my lawn and inquire about mixing products and delivery options. It was literally 20 with four other people ahead of me in line. The line lead me past these sample bins so I could see exactly what they had in stock and put my hands on them before getting to the register. By the time I got to the salesperson I already had a good idea of what I wanted an she added delivery and notes to mix the products prior to delivery. The website is equally as helpful as far as pricing and fees.

Worst experience ever!!! I just wanted some soil for a newly built garden at my customers home and I waited forever almost 40min!! There was barley any workers and after being In line for so long I finally got my order. Such a nice place but sad to see that there isn’t enough people here to provide good customer service. Needs work.

No frills place to get pavers, soil, mulch, boulders, edgers, in bulk. For cheap. Bring your own truck. We loaded pavers and boulders into our little car. Lauren inside at register is very sweet. Young man on forklift is professional, helpful and funny.

First visit here. Friendly and very helpful staff, both forklift op and office staff. Got what I needed at competitive price w/o having to buy bulk and pay costly delivery.

Garden soil had broken glass in it and staff had no idea what the percentage of compost to dirt and sand was. Really miss Fertile Garden, this place is trash.

Good prices and materials but customer service is terrible went there twice to get soil and sand and both times Lauren took care of me. She was not pleasant, looked like she didnt want to be bothered, had attitude, and was denied my military discount. When right at the counter they say military discount. This is a great material yard. Friendly staff and lot of inventory to choose from. It can be extremely busy at times which might be a little intimidating if its your first visit. Just find a spot to park, go inside and the will take care of you.

My company had an issue with a load of topsoil here but found out it was due to the loader giving us the wrong product. Chelsea-the Manager-handled the error quickly and replaced the product for us at no additional charge. She was very professional as were the ladies handling the order desks inside. They not only kept my business but I will now refer additional business to them. Excellent Customer service!

They have great choices for landscaping but in todays world customer service needs to be great in order to get a return customer. The cashier did not seem very happy to be there and was actually pretty cold. The loader definitely was not friendly. He seemed annoyed that I had folded the receipt and did not communicate verbally. To say I was wowed by the poor customer service would be an understatement. Ill look elsewhere for my landscaping needs on my next project.

Our experience with the Stone and Soil Depots N. 1604 experience was in a word: OUTSTANDING! Stone and Soils representative, Lauren, provided us with fantastic customer service and walked us through every step of the process without regard to our numerous questions pertaining to our project. We could not be happier with our choice of going through Stone and Soils N. 1604 location for our backyard project and highly recommend that you do the same.

But the reason I gave it 3 stars is because I felt like they gave me a good amount of material for what I paid. Bad Communication between staff members inside. Melissa a CSR I imagine was completely unhelpful in resolving an issue already communicated by Chelsea. Guys in the yard are excellent very attentive and reasonable . I Have never had an issue until this week. I understand it’s busy with the summer rush, but customer service shouldn’t change with the season. Just my perspective as an operator.

Called and asked about what we would need to fill some garden beds we wanted to move some plants in to. They suggested the garden soil would be a good fit and ready to use asap so we ordered 2 yards of it. They dropped it off and we filled a few beds with it but in a day or 2 everything we placed in to it died. Digging down in to the soil we discovered it was burning hot to the touch. We had the garden soil mix inspected and was told the mix was still composting and too hot to use. Everything we planted, lots of $ and time and effort, died. We were told to try mixing other items in to it and give it a few more weeks or months before trying again. This place has been ok as we have order gravel base and rock from them but if grabbing anything composted plz try and get a guarantee from them on paper on what they offer as in items that are composted. What they had on display was different from what was delivered. We didn’t and we lost weeks of time and $ in to the fall season 👎 Plz plz plz don’t fall in to what we fell in to.

I have never been treated so unprofessionally. I was basically called a thief. Today I purchased 6 yards of black mulch. I was only able to fit three yards on my trailer so the guy in charge of dumping the mulch signed off on my load ticket that I only received 3 yards. not to change the subject but I tipped him $5. Last week I came in and bought white Cobble Stone, twice. And tipped that worker both times also.. the two loaders they have working there that Ive dealt with are extremely professional & good workers. Unfortunately when I went back to pick up the other three yards of mulch I found out that my employee lost the load ticket. The gentleman outside that loaded the first three yards of mulch remembered me and said it wouldnt be a problem. However at this point I didnt think I was going to need those three yard so I went inside and the manager on duty was extremely rude and to be honest it seemed like she was getting a kick out of this. Because she flat out told me there was nothing she could or would do for me without that load ticket. So I have her call her supervisor who basically tells me the same thing. And come to find out I believe that was the owner Jeff that I spoke to on the phone. Basically Im s*** out of luck. And then the manager on duty as Im walking out smarts off to me and tells me that I should have read the sign thats right there on the counter about losing ones ticket. Ive worked many customer service jobs in the past. And it was obvious that this supposed manager was getting a kick out of treating a customer like this. I will never do business with this company again. I am an up-and-coming landscape professional and I will be advising all my present customers and future customers against doing business with stone and soil company.

HORRIBLE PRODUCT. WAS RECOMMENDED AND SOLD THEIR GARDEN SOIL FOR RAISED GARDEN BEDS. I MOVED 3 YARDS OF THIS INTO THE BEDS AND WATERED. THE SOIL DOES NOT DRAIN AT ALL AND JUST TURNS TO MUD. THIS DOES NOT WORK FOR GARDENING. I CALLED THEM AND THEY JUST WANTED TO SELL ME POTTING SOIL TO MIX IN. THEY DO NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT

Bought one yard of garden soil and mixed with soil for my garden. This spring it did excellent, had five tomato plants that produced more than 200 tomatoes. The squash plants were five feet around, and got about 35 cucumbers. Excellent soil, just starting the fall garden and expect equal results. Thanks Dave.

A read a review that they don’t care about home owner projects, but I ignored it. I shouldn’t have. I called to ask some questions about a product I wanted to purchase from them for a home project. I explained what I was looking for and the woman who answered the phone got quiet (but I could still hear the background noises of the store) and hung up when I finished asking my question. Not purchasing from here now.

We just finished a big xeriscaping renovation of our backyard. We were very pleased with the company that did the work.The stone we wanted for ground cover was only sold by Stone and Soil. That stone was absurdly expensive, more than $100 per yard more than any of their other stone. We wanted that stone so we were willing to pay the price.In addition, the flagstone we used for steps was beautiful, but Stone and Soil sold it by the pallet with a no return, as is policy. When it was delivered to our home, most of the large pieces had been broken up into pieces no larger than 5 - 7 inches. It turned out they were lifting the pallets with their forklift, not by the wooden pallet, but by inserting the forklift tines into the stacked large flagstone pieces, breaking them up. I called them, spoke to a woman named Chelsea, and expressed my displeasure with the many small pieces. She apologized, told me they would take the small pieces back in exchange for larger pieces. When the landscaping service doing the work returned them, they tried to say no, but finally relented and allowed them to choose the proper size from a non damaged pallet. Then they told the landscaping foreman, if they had any more problems, to go to the Bourne store instead.We were fortunate enough to afford the very much more expensive stone, we wanted it, and were willing to accept the outrageous price, but the attitude about the flagstone was unforgiveable. Flagstone is cut large deliberately, not broken into hand size pieces to be sold as stepping stones!Buyer beware!

Just bought half a yard of sand for 19 bucks. friendly staff and prompt service. i was in and out in 10 minutes. i will definitely come back for my soil, compost and mulch!

Their garden soil does not drain and becomes all muddy, water logged; have already taken out vegetable plants from seed starters and planted in bed before checking soil drainage (should see how they grow in next 2-3 months); if im buying again, will probably go for a 50:50 mix of garden and potting soil for garden beds
