Their selection was poor and nothing even remotely unique. However, the owner was very nice and sweet. It sounds like she just took over the store and is trying to clear out some old stock before moving forward. When I go to a liquor store, it is nice to have options and staff who knows the liquor more than just a label.Overall, if you are looking for a cheap bottle to drink... This is the place. Otherwise, if you want anything higher quality go elsewhere.

Thanks everyone for the comments and feedback. My parents have kept this old building and business going to for about 20+ years. I am the daughter to the owner and I have taken over. y dad is a 26 year Air Force Veteran and with COVID-19, it was time for him to finely retire. We are serious about closing time as TABC has strict rules about Liquor Purchases in the State of Texas. So, please arrive to the store by 8;45 pm at the latest to make your purchase as doors will close about 8:55 pm to close out the day. We open at 11:00 am. If you have a special event, please call us and I can always arrive at the store earlier. We hope to be making some positive changes soon to the store. We appreciate your business.

The sweet little man who runs this place is one of the kindest people I have ever met. He is also a landlord to many and is patient and understanding and easy to talk to. His daughter helps in the office and she is also super nice and helpful and easy to communicate with. I am truly blessed to have found this place!

Absolutely **TERRIBLE**!! This place deserves 0 stars. I ubered here from my hotel, when I pulled up the open sign and lights were on. As I walked up to the door and was a foot away from opening it I heard the door lock. It was 8:50pm, and they close at 9:00pm. We knocked on the door and the man opened it saying he was closed EVEN THOUGH there was a big lit up flashing ‘OPEN’ sign and in BIG red letters on the front door it said open till 9:00 p.m. My partner and I explained we just wanted 1 item and we would be on our way; he RUDELY closed the door in our face. This is NOT how anyone should run a business. This place does not want your business or money. DON’T COME HERE . We ended up going to Five Palms liquor store right down the street, they were MORE than helpful and DELIGHTED to give us great service. Hope they were happy to miss out on $50.

I would give 0 stars if possible!! They close at 9pm and we showed up at 8:50pm.... The OPEN sign was lit up but as we walked up I heard the door lock. We knocked and the old gentleman answered the door and told us he would not let us in. We ordered an Uber there from our hotel and we explained we would only be one minute to grab a bottle of Vodka but he shut the door in our face!! We left with no liquor and were forced to Uber back to the hotel sadly. These people apparently do NOT want your business so I recommend going to the Five Palms liquor store down the street. After reading the other reviews I can see they treat most customers with disrespect, not a good way to run a business.

Picking up a front end loader

My friend and I went in and they asked us if we were 21 because we looked young we said yes and showed them our i.d. The lady that we were talking to tried to tell me that a passport didnt pass as an i.d. at a liquor store. I told her it actually does and that you can look it up, that its actually more of an i.d. than a state one because it has all your info. She said in the state of texas it wasnt and again i corrected her and said it did still count in texas. She said that shell let it pass since i already said it because she knew i was right. So my friend and I went to browse to see what kind we wanted and we were in the back for no less than 4 mins and i pick up a bottle to look at the alcohol percentage and the guy at the counter asks us if we were going to buy that. I let this comment slide and continued walking around. Then these two old ladies come to the back and tell us that we cant be in the back for too long and that they have cameras and see through doors. We were like ok were just looking around. They then comment on my friends purse like it was big enough to put something inside of it. We continue looking for a few more minutes and the ladies continue to stand right next to us and watch us. We finally had enough and decided to go to another liquor store. Out of all the stores Ive been too this one has been the worst.

Its a small locally owned shop in the southside. What do u expect? Theyre STILL getting paid. Go to Specs if you want customer service.

I had called to ask if they carried a specific item and the person that had answerd the phone didnt speak load enough for me to here him and when I had asked him to repeat what he had said he began to be very rude I guess the man didnt want my bussiness so if you want to call in DONT because they will treat you the same way they did me. VERY PROFESSIONAL, Such bad customer service THANKS FOR NOTHING. By the way the rating says poor/fair but I want everyone to know that I rated it POOR.
