Diamond Decks was amazing; they built a deck extension, privacy wall, and reenforced deck for a jacuzzi. They did an amazing job and kept me informed the whole way and answered all the questions and where very accommodating to the plan additions that we had in the middle of building. They used composite wood that has a longer warranty and looks beautiful and very easy to clean.

From the initial consultation to the actual job being completed, the whole process has been first rate. The design that was chosen turned out to be spot on once the flooring was completed. The individuals who did the work were skilled and it was evident that they took pride in their work. If I had to do it over again, I wouldn’t change a thing and would highly recommend them to one and all.

I have been a contractor for over 40 years, and therefore very knowledgeable in this area. Diamond Decks remodeled my detached garage into a living unit. The completed project went above and beyond my expectations for both quality and value. The finish time took longer than expected, but was well worth the wait.

I really wish I would have researched this company a little more. When we asked them for an estimate we were met at our house with a very pushy salesman who was trying to get us to sign that day. The only reason why we did was because we haggled down from 21k to only 11k and they financed. We had requested quotes from everyone else and they came and left with better customer service. This guy was very pushy.Fast forward to last month trying to refinance my house when we learned the financing was written as an actual lean against our house. We have automatic draft and have not been late once! So we were confused. After several conversations they refused to remove the lean so we had to show proof to our mortgage company (along with our credit report matching up) that we have never been late or missed one payment. Good thing I keep all of that stuff.2nd they started work without my HOA’S approval. They said they would take care of everything (which was another good selling point for them) and then BOOM! I received a warning notice about a fine because of the unapproved construction. When I questioned them they said it was MY responsibility to check the status? So I asked them to send me the communication between them and my HOA and I can tell you that I am still waiting on that email till this day.This isnt even commenting on their sloppy work. My house siding is FILLED with concrete splatter! The concrete is uneven and its been over a year dealing with Angel trying to level it out because all of the rain water collects against my house and doesnt drain into the yard. So we purchased a push broom to push all of the water off of the porch when it rains. We keep getting excuse after excuse about their sloppy work and mess they leave behind. They left my yard muddy and concrete chunks and splatter everywhere we actually had to call them back to come and clean up. And now they are unresponsive to finally finishing the work. I hate you tear any business down but I have absolutely had enough.

I’ve been super satisfied with my Diamond Deck. I get great comments about it. Great people to work with. The owner is a straight shooter who stands by his product and offers realistic expectations/timelines about the build during these uncertain times. I wouldn’t use anyone else.

Beware of drainage issues. The deck which we had installed by Diamond Decks created flooding in our house where that hadnt been an issue previously. Shortly after the deck was installed and water got in the house after a rain, they did come back and install a curb that was supposed to fix that problem, but we have since had more water come in the house. The drainage pipe that they had installed with the deck had not nearly enough capacity to handle the water that goes to that area during a rain. My husband and I have now spent well over $20,000 to have new flooring put in that area of the house and to have two much larger drainage pipes installed to divert the rainwater from that area. The management at Diamond Decks has not returned calls regarding this issue.**************************In answer to the response below:Your representative did call a couple of days ago (apparently the above review got someones attention), and indicated I would probably be hearing from a higher up at the company soon. I didnt hold out much hope that that would happen as that is what I had been told last May when I called after we had the flooding issue. As I told her, we had a drainage company fix the issue, and this work was just completed a few days ago, so we have been working on this for several months, researching the best solution, and awaiting its implementation. The main problem had been a much too small drain pipe installed when the patio was poured. We have had to pay for two larger drain pipes to be installed. Your representative on the phone the other day said that the person overseeing the original project, and also the designer, should have caught the problem, and she apologized for the problem, but evidently that is the extent to which your company is willing to take responsibility for your work. We are pleased with the appearance of the patio you made for us, but if we had known the problems it would cause, we never would have had it done.

Awesome experience! Kasey, the girl on the phone was so helpful and explained what to be expected at the consultation. Mike came out and designed exactly what we were wanting! The deck and outdoor kitchen is perfect! Tons of memories will be made this summer!!

Diamond Decks fixed in 2 days a project that we had been dealing with for over 2 years!! We had our front and back sidewalks and porches stamped and stained. The company we had previously hired (Modern Day Concrete) was a nightmare. They had sent 3 or 4 different crews over the course of several months to do this project and each crew took forever and did terrible work. We contacted Donnie at Diamond Decks and were absolutely astonished at how quickly and easily this project was completed by them. The work is flawless and the process was painless. We wish we had started with Diamond Decks!!

I had a great experience from the start, had got my initial visit set up and plan laid out. I was ready to make a deal on a new patio and the rep never followed back up. I had another company come back and make me a better offer. When I reached out to my rep to let him know, he apologized and said something personal came up and he couldnt get back to me. I cant hold it against him, but it was unfortunate. 2 weeks passed from when I told him I was ready to make a deal and nobody could follow up with me at all to help him. Im sure this was a rare occurrence but it was really unfortunate.

Diamond Decks built a stained/stamped concrete cement patio for us. It looked great to begin with but we have had some issues with the stain, chipping off pretty badly when San Antonio had the cold snap in Feb 2021. To their credit Diamond Deck came out and re-stained and sealed the concrete, even though it was past the 1 year warranty period. Customer service like that is appreciated.

I have been turned down twice for an estimate from this company “Casey“ Refused to set up an appointment since my wife is unable to be at the patio consultation estimate. I explained that because of “COVID-19” I am the only one able to make it. My wife is with 4 my children helping at our other home with their online school work. We haven’t fully moved into our new home. She said sorry we will not come out no exceptions this is company policy! I tried to explain to Casey that my wife is totally in agreement with whatever I decide for our patio and outdoor kitchen. We have been planning for our new patio for months and know what we want.I called a week before closing on my home and the same person said they would not come out to give you preliminary quote or consultation until I close on the home. She said technically this is not your home yet and we will not come out! Again I explain to her that other companies coming out to measure windows an interior decorators as well, still nothing seem to convince her.Whoever owns this company needs to have somebody that is more people person oriented and has a nicer tone while speaking to potential customers over the phone.I really wanted an estimate on my 1,400 square-foot patio project. But if I’m already budding heads at this point I could only imagine all the hell of problems I am going to face with this company! I was willing to take a chance in spite of all the negative reviews posted on “Diamond Decks” I hope if the owner reads this review contact me personally maybe we can work something out.

Ok so let me begin by saying we LOVE Tony the sales guy who is incredibly detailed on the entire process. Being able to actually talk to someone about a large project without dealing with a Car-Salesman feel is a lost talent these days. Tony had everything taken care of with perfect handoff to the on site Construction Manager Angel?? We know his name but his title should be Project Manager... he was there the whole time, incredibly responsive, on time, took the time to discuss our needs and understood our vision.. then provided the most amazing outcome. We love the finished project. Ok here’s the bad.... Aaron is the Project Manager and we never got a call from him during any of the process until Angel tagged him in on a concern .. then “poof” he appeared. We didn’t see the project manager again until he wanted to do a “final walk through” and??? If you can believe it I was rushed to get it done that day (I live in Austin currently) and was driving back in to the house but would be there until late afternoon. After going over his schedule “Aaron” doesn’t like to deal with traffic so any time schedule would have to be in the morning because afternoon appointments need to be around the office area. Ummmm... people work. Friday didn’t work for him.. he doesn’t work weekends, Monday didn’t work etc etc. So. The final walk through was done without us present and lumber was left on the side of the house to which it wasn’t picked up until a week later.Now I rarely get annoyed but my fiancé is a Project Manager and I’m used to him being involved with every aspect of his clients and their jobs so this was different for me to have a Project Manager that does a final walk through without you present and calls only for payment at the end of the job. Even still.. I’ll use Diamond Decks again and again for the upcoming projects because of Angel and Tony!!! Sorry Aaron :(( No hard feelings

Stamped concrete. Stamped Concrete itself seems OK. But Colors on it .......I dont know. Green/Blue/Some Clay colors ...... I imagined its just beautiful before they start painting .But they lack brightness/glossy. I feel that they do not have a variety of colors. When they showed me some samples and i was a bit embarrassed. but looks like those are the colors that Ive chosen ... bluish, greenish ... etc.. Thanks for the labor itself. After done (I claimed about the color, so they repainted several blocks), they never ask whether or not i like it as a whole. Looks like they dont care about my feedback. Im looking for how to remove color now, not from this guys.

Diamond Decks did a great job for us and we really enjoy our new patio. The folks are nice and they do good work. I recommend them to my neighbors who asked me who I used.

Diamond Decks built a deck onto the back of my house to accommodate an above ground spa and therapy pool. They did an excellent job designing the deck and gave favorable insight into the selection of materials. They sent an excellent carpenter to do the work. There were delays that were entirely due to the pool company. The deck and the pool are now finished and I am happy and satisfied with the result.

Donnie, Mike & Kasey w/ Diamond Decks were wonderful in coordinating and getting the perfect setting for our outdoor patio which included a patio cover. We have received endless compliments on how awesome it looks. Along with that project they also did some remodeling indoors and added a laundry room which I am so pleased with. Thank you DD for making our home that much more enjoyable. Highly recommend them.

I would not recommend this company for so many reasons, a few of which are indicated below:The overall experience with this company was less than good. First the sales presentation: Discounts are supposedly offered; however, they are not written in the agreement, and a decision to get the sale price must be made at the end of the presentation. Lesson learned, don’t get fooled into an agreement on the day of the presentation. Take the bid under consideration while you get bids from two more companies. During the sales presentation for a concrete overlay, the salesperson indicated he would do all the paperwork for my HOA. This never happened, an attempt was made; however, the submission for HOA approval was not professionally done and unacceptable in format for HOA approval, causing me lots of time to get the submission right. In addition you learn at the end, the selection of stamps is very limited as well as the colors to choose from.The estimated start time was 6-10 weeks. The project started around week (8). Once the work started it took 7 days to complete the concrete overlay on my walkway to the front door, and the rear patio, which is small.The workmanship does not reflect well on the company. They use subcontractors to preform the work who come late in the morning causing them to work during the hours of darkness in the evening. The end result the stamping was not good and had several footprints on its surface. When my wife and I complained, the owner of the company showed up along with the concrete guy tag teaming off of each other to insist what we all were seeing were not footprints. The prints were random and not part of the design as they insisted. The bottom-line, unless you want to get tied up in arbitration which is a roll of the dice we were stuck. When asked to lower the total sales price, due to the much less than perfect end product, the owner defiantly refused to do so. He sarcastically told me, if I wanted to hire an outside expert it would be an expensive prospect.The bottom line, the customer experience, and workmanship from start to finish was not good and we were left unsatisfied.

Buyer beware… the first meeting with the salesman went great and then it was all downhill after that. Communication from the project manager was poor at best. The job wasn’t even 60% done but they were sure quick to process payment. Since we financed through there lender, they were able to process the payment when THEY wanted. We had an existing pergola that they re-stained and since the painter used a sprayer we now have wood stain all over the side of our house. Was told by the project manager for weeks that he would come out and do the finishing touches from the deck install and we finally gave up on trying to get him to come back out and fix what needed to be done. For the amount of money we paid for our project, I would hope a little more care and communication would be given to the entire project.Darrell C.

I had a deck built several months ago. The workmanship, promptness and scheduling thereof, by the work crew were abysmal. Recently we hired a contractor to install lighting on the deck. His initial observation was that the step installed on our deck did not meet code requirements. I contacted Diamond Decks and informed them of the situation and was told to text them with specifics of the situation with attached photos, which I did. I also was told I would hear back from them within a week. Time has passed and I have heard nothing from them. Seemingly, after sale customer service has no priority with them.

I had the most amazing experience with Diamond Decks (I usually never write reviews by the way) but had to commend them on how happy I am with the project. Im a single mom, and my kids love playing outside, therefore it only made sense to add more living space to my backyard. I got 3 different estimates, and thank goodness I ended up choosing Diamond Decks (although they were not the cheapest). Don & Kyle came out and designed an awesome deck and patio cover. With all this rain we have received, I have never been so thankful in my life (remember, single mom with 2 young boys who like to play outside). Weve been outside every single day since having this done and my only regret is waiting so long. Communication, attention to detail & craftsmanship were bar none. I am a firm believer you get what you pay for and Diamond Decks exceeded my expectations! If youre on the fence on what deck company to choose, take my advice and choose them. I am so glad I did!!

SHADY! STAY AWAY! I had diamond deck come out for an patio estimate. Unfortunately the person that showed up was extremely rude and absolutely did not listen to what we wanted. He pressured us into signing the contract for a concrete patio right then and now. This was extremely shady and I felt like I was in the wrong movie! When we politely told him that we will decline this offer since we still had some other contractors come out for their professional opinion, he got extremely. What this guy did not know is, that I work in this industry and I know how its done and I must say Ive NEVER met a business owner this unprofessional and rude.

Three stars is very generous and only because at the end of the day, we are happy with how the porch design turned out. However, I would not recommend or use diamond decks again. We signed our contract in mid-April and the project just wrapped up at the very end of August. I did appreciate how quickly the project manager would respond when we contacted him with issues but there were far too many issues. Some of the guys that they sub-contract did not have the level of skill that I would expect for the amount of money we paid. We would be told to expect a guy out to finish XYZ and he would never show. When he finally showed days later, he would give us just bizarre excuses for why he didn’t show. (He had a house fire, then he got in a wreck and his truck burned down, etc. I can’t even make this up, people.) We still aren’t 100% happy with a couple of things but I was sick of dealing with it and with the contractors. Proceed with caution!

I would love to say I had a wonderful experience with the whole Diamond deck team from the beginning process to the end. I love my new deck and outdoor kitchen as well as all my family and friends who come over. The staff was very professional and made sure we happy with the outcome! Donnie still had the shakes from the night before. Apparently doesnt pay his subcontractors on time if at all. None of the work is done by actual employees all subcontractors. Wish I would of helped a small company instead of Diamond Decks. Buyer beware....

Pretty disappointing. I had a patio and patio cover done and for the most part they look nice. BUT the experience and after project service has been terrible. Getting them to communicate with me has been like pulling teeth, I have to cc the project managers bosses to get any sort of reply. I am still waiting for a reply. Their workmen dropped tools and chipped the new concrete and they have NOT come back and fix it! Like others have said here...wait until you are completely satisfied before paying. I paid and got GHOSTED. Their stain job is also pretty poor. One month later the stain is already flaking off several of the pillars (picture attached). Dont think any sort of seal was applied. Their talk of a warranty is a joke. Good luck filing a claim on that warranty. I messaged them about the flaking stain and still no replies. This company will GHOST you. I hope I dont have to file a suit just to get the promised warranty.

Excellent Design and CraftsmanshipDonnie and Kyle have completed two deck projects for us. Throughout both construction periods they were very helpful with design, selection of materials, placement of the bar, flower box, and other required decisions. We went with composite material on new construction.We recently had the other half of the deck cover installed. The construction crew were always mindful, helpful, and cleaned at the end of each day.Diamond Decks has built several decks in Sonoma Mesa. The end product is well done.

Tony was great and our patio extension looks wonderful. Communication from our project manager was lacking and our fence was reassembled terribly.

My wife and I had used Diamond Decks a little over a year ago to design a deck and cover for our new home out in Alamo Ranch. The company is great, service is great, and anytime we have guests over, we always get compliments on our deck. We highly recommend them!

The planning stages were very thorough to ensure the plans met our desired end-state. The carpenter team was good and the final product is very nice. Were very happy with the deck and look forward to getting the fire pit done by the team in the next few weeks.

Work looks nice, however the process was slow and each step was sub-contracted out, which added to the costs. After calling back for additional work to fully complete the project for my new need, they would never call back after multiple calls/requests. Not fully satisfied with the work as the cedar beams delivered had some major cracks and they refused to replace. This company has a friendly sales staff, however, I would get another quote.

Diamond Decks completed two projects for me over the past couple of years and each experience was amazing. My favorite part is not only my pergola and now outdoor kitchen, but the communication. It felt as if I was texting or calling an old friend. They have made me very comfortable with any questions I have had and they all have an amazing eye for design. Highly recommend for any project!

Turned my small non descript backyard into a lovely inviting space. We got a cement porch/deck stamped to look like flagstone . many color choices .. Result is beautiful and practical with the sealant. The folks at Diamond decks made it right

When gathering my quotes and information this looked like the best company. Design was created and I loved it but then it was built wrong and I agreed to leave it, that it was ok too. Then came the deck staining. They came out three time and I still don’t like it but I can deal with it. There are boards splitting on the deck and I was told the wood would do that....that’s normal..... in less than a month, that’s normal. Ok if you say.... not sure if I’d use them or recommend them. You live and learn.

From start to finish, the company did what they promised and completed the job to satisfaction!

Horrible customer service, poor workmanship and major liars! DO NOT DO business with them!! Talk a lot of talk, but dont back any of it up! I had the disappointing opportunity to observe many things happening with very little corrections done to remedy their mistakes. Biggest mistake I made was hiring them. Killed my yard, broke several things around my backyard and made multiple false promises. Claimed everyone worked for them and yet each one was contracted. Ill make sure to never recommend them to anyone!

The boards on the Brazilian cherry rails that were suppose to be indistructable cracked in half, took forever to get replace. Before they built the deck they were easy to get in touch with, afterwards it was like pulling teeth. They subcontracted Decksperts to stain the deck within two weeks of building it and it look like two 12 years old did it. Just slopped on. They came and replaced two board at no charge, the least they could do after $14,000. I went with them because they were a company but they were very difficult to get back out to the property. I feel they certainly did not care about us as customers after the job was done. Both my husband and I are Veterans and we would never refer a friend. Bottom line is I would never use them again. What warranty? They blamed everything on the Texas heat. I was pleased before the wood was stained and until 4 months later when the wood started to chip and the rails cracked. They said they would come back in a few months and check the wires and tighten them... That never happened and probably never will. Just poor customer service and all about the money not the customer. Im going with the little guy from now on.

“Diamond Decks” is a very impressive company, both in attention to detail and customer service. I learned they are not only a deck company, but offer Remodeling services as well. My 620 foot, 12 year old deck needed the top replaced. I went through Angie’s List, and picked out (3) A++ rated companies to get estimates. Owner Kyle Brooks came out, took measurements, drew out a schematic of the deck and the work we wanted done. He didn’t attempt to oversell us, and spent most of the time listening to what my wife and I wanted accomplished. The estimate was very fair, and beat the other offers. There was no charge for the estimate.The team doing the work were excellent and efficient. They showed up on time, and worked steadily each day for the duration of the project and were quiet/courteous to our neighbors. My wife and I were impressed with their honesty and professionalism. On project completion, owner Donnie Ferguson came out and reviewed all work done.I would also mention that I was also in a bind getting the fascia replaced on 2 gables in front of my house, 20+ feet in up. I was having my roof replaced, and the person the roofers were depending on to replace the fascia (before they could could start the roof teardown) had a personal issue come up and couldn’t do it. I mentioned this to Donnie on the day of the walk though. He gave me a fair estimate on the spot and worked me in to their busy schedule so the roofer wouldn’t be delayed. This really impressed me.In summation. A great team, with integrity, a solid work ethic and a focus on what the customer wants. I would recommend them to anyone seeking to have not only deck work done, but any remodeling project they may wish to pursue. - jesse h. goode jr.
