Two stars is being generous. Gentleman who waited on me was ok. But no sign saying we DONOT install batteries anymore. OK, good enough but if C19 is the reason then why didnt either of your employees employees wear a mask.Plus my red top Optima needed replaced again. 3rd battery in 5 years after credit of 180 dollars on first one. No warranty. Nonsense. Im sorry but these guys are way to happy to run back and fourth to exchange batteries.Even if you get new battery its the same date as the first battery warranty. Thats how you know quality is in the toilet.

I asked him to take the battery out of my car and the worker takes it out and set it on my bumper and scratches the living s*** out of it. I did not ask him to take it out and set it on my bumper set it on the ground or something. Their helpers aint too smart

It was a little different experience than normal due to covid 19. I brought a battery in to be checked out. I put on a cart outside where an employee then takes it to be checked. The battery wasnt holding a charge so they gave me a replacement because I was still under warranty. Was an easy and quick transaction. Thx.

The BEST battery store I have EVER been to. The service was quick, honest and friendly. They politely greeted me almost the second I walked in the door! I explained to the gentleman at the front counter that my car would not start in the morning... Well there you have it, A battery expert came in from the warehouse and tested the battery. He deemed that the battery had a bad cell and that it needed to be replaced. For a battery in my Honda it was $111.95+ Tax, core exchange, and $20 for install. This IS the best in the business. I would most certainly give them a try. You will NOT be disappointed, Prices are great, staff is even better, Thank You Interstate for making me happy once again. I have been doing business here with their store in San Bernardino for over 15 years and have never left feeling other than 110% happy and pleased.

Now i havent technically been here but what i can tell you is that we cant bust heads like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to tell em stories that dont go anywhere - like the time I caught the ferry over to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe, so, I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on em. Give me five bees for a quarter, youd say.Now where were we? Oh yeah: the important thing was I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didnt have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones

Bought battery from them, i got it home to install it. Thats when notice that battery had a some damage to the top. I called the store, they told me to bring it back in the morning and i did. When i did return in the morning they accused me of doing the damage to the battery myself. I informed them that i did not do this damage to the battery. Thank god a honest employee that works in the back(with the battery) was in the front of the store and saw the battery. This good employee informed his supervisor that he saw that battery come off the truck and brought the damage up to i think the same supervisor i was talking too. I THANKED that employee. The supervisor or manager looked mad and told that guy to take that battery to the back and get me a new one. I cant believe that i had to argue to get treated right. Good old San Bernardino

Service is much to be desired. The young snot nose kid behind the counter is extremely rude . Never made eye contact, never looked up to acknowledge me as a customer, proceeded to look at his computer the entire time before I said excuse me, can I get some help! I believe he is the owners son or grandson. Definitely shouldnt be serving the public. If I didnt need a battery so bad I would have left. I have used Interstate when they were at the other location and had a decent experience. I will think twice before returning to this place of business.

I read some of the other reviews on here so I wanted to check it out for myself, I am not quite sure why some people complain about an install charge or say the install charge was a hidden fee....The staff was very upfront about the install charge if I wanted it installed... I would not go buy car oil at a store and think an oil change would be free!!! Do not let some of these reviews keep you from this shop, they were honest,friendly,and fast. I will only be buying batteries here from now on!!!! 5 stars!!!

I do not understand why people write negative reviews about this establishment. Family owned and operated businesses like Interstate are the most trust worthy. I have known the owner Mark for 18 years now, Him and his employees/family have always taken great care of me. I honestly will disregard all of the negative reviews I have seen. People are complaining about the most inappropriate stuff in attempt to slander the business. In my opinion that isnt right. That is why I am here defending the business trying to give my 18 years of experience, at three different locations. Never once have I remotely had a bad one. Give Interstate a try if you have not already. I assure you that you will not be let down. I never have, their batteries have never left me stranded and they also offer a free battery check as a routine maintenance plan. If anything is not okay such as a bad cell within the battery they replace it right on the spot. I even have an Interstate in my Silverado purchased in August 2011. That battery is going on 8 years now. Interstate, despite the negative reviews you will see me back!!!

Outstanding customer service. I actually went in to purchase a battery and I had know idea they rebuild drill packs. Tyler the front desk guy said it would take three weeks, he calls me the next day and said it was completed. After 2 months and multiple uses still holding charge. impressed after a battery center jacket it up!!!!! So for a 15.00 install and a rebuilt drill pack HAPPY CUSTOMER!!!!!

I was at the San Bernardino location with a 12-volt battery that went bad in 27 months. There is no allowance for a battery that is supposed to last 5 years. There was no effort to stand behind their product - just a blank stare. They did tell me to take my battery so I wouldnt be charged a core charge!! Whoopee!! Crap for a battery. Crap for service. Do not go here for a battery. Or any Interstate battery location for that matter. Absolute worst battery experience I have ever had!

Went to interstate battery today with a dead battery. The gentleman behind the counter check the battery said it was Bad. He talked to the other guy behind the counter then when into the office. When he can out, I ask if there was a problem he said the battery had been overcharged and the Manager would me right out. the manager ask me a couple of questions then replace the battery. First time customer of Interstate Batteries in San Bernardino. Its also the last time I will go there.I called in advance to get a quote. Drove there and was charged a higher price. I asked to speak to a manager but was told he wasnt available and was told I could call the next day.I needed a battery and drove all that way, so I reluctantly went ahead with their service. As advised, I called the following day and the females in the office were terribly rude by phone. They eventually transferred me to the owner, but undoubtedly not until after they prepped him with derogatory remarks about me. That was the only thing I could figure out about why he came on the phone in such a hostile manner.He asked what I wanted, which was an off-putting way to begin a conversation. I answered that I had a complaint which was escalating with every person I spoke to. He said, Well, hurry up and get to it. Im busy.I was shocked and discontinued the conversation, following which I learned this is a family business, which used to mean something positive, but in this case, meant that no matter how ill-mannered and unprofessional an employee is, there isnt a consequence because theyre all that way...because theyre related.They are also a franchise which means, as they also know, contacting Interstate headquarters in Dallas, TX isnt worth much and doesnt provide any recourse since theyll continue to do business as they please and not give a damn about mistreating their customers.Their customer service is at best, inconsistent, since looking at other reviews, they tend to pick and choose to whom they are going to treat fairly and respectfully. If they make a mistake and you voice your concern, get ready because instead of valuing customer feedback, they will easily target you with the brunt end of their wrath!

Well I have to say is to always keep your receipts there was a human error and they tried to say that my warranty was expired when it wasnt but I had to look for my receipt or else I would have had to buy a whole nother battery when I still had the warranty on it only 6 months and it went out I needed a new battery so they said but in reality I had the warranty still and didnt mean to pay anything for them to replace it however they did apologize and the very nice theyre very nice clientele

Avoid interstate batteries like the plague. I am a vehicle dealer and have had so many batterys fail on my cars in inventory in the past 2 years that I now buy the cheapies from Walley world, no problems and I buy a lot of batterys. My personal cars battery has been back 3 times in 2 years, megatron, that goes flat and leaves u stranded. They will not even exchange it out. I have switched to diehard gold agm and have no problems in the same exact car. They blame the car for an excessive drain. Interstates warranty is worthless. Corporate said to keep a trickle charger on it if it sits for a week! Really? Instead of replacing one battery under warranty that has been back multiple times they would rather loose my business and have me tell my customers and everyone else I come in contact with to buy something else, smart business. They also admitted to having to warranty too many batterys! Wow, sounds like they know they are selling junk and should not be offering a warranty at all.
