This is the cutest and best run used book store I’ve ever been to. The selection in here is INCREDIBLE and the staff are impressively knowledgeable about what they have in stock. They go through the time of helping you find a book similar to what you were looking for if they don’t have what you wanted in stock. Bought two books for $16! Very affordable. If you’re a new customer you get your fourth book free! :))

I have been to many used bookstores across the country and I am not sure I’ve seen one with as beautiful a sunset view as Beach Town Books!What a wonderful shop. The employees were so friendly. The book selection was very strong. I collect history and railroad books and the collection they had was very good. I walked out with three banker boxes of books to take home.Why so many? Well, because I have a book problem. But, the pricing structure of Beach Town is very affordable. Most books are half off the listed price. And, every fourth book you purchase is free.I cannot stress how friendly the staff was. Numerous times, they answered phone calls and put callers on hold to walk the aisles and check if a book was in stock. Their recommendation game was strong, too!I hope that locals and visitors alike continue to give patronage to Beach Town. Small, family-owned shops dispensing literary knowledge are a cultural asset for a town. So, if you are anywhere near San Clemente, give them a visit.**Covid protocols** All guests are masked and limited entry but that was never an issue. They will happily clean and disinfect every book if you choose.

Beach Town Books is a must see if you are in the San Clemente area or surrounding areas. Come with some time to spare because you will want to wander down every aisle! I sometimes have a few books Id like to keep my eye out for but I usually walk out with some books I hadnt heard of before! Staff is also so nice and friendly.I will make a note for parking (if not knowing about a parking situation gives you anxiety like it does me) they do have a few spots to park on the side kind of in an alley. There is also some street parking. It is slightly in the hustle and bustle but even if you park a street down you would not be walking far!I cant wait to come back!

My favorite bookstore in OC! I love browsing the shelves and finding books I didnt even know I wanted! Their book buying credit and rewards programs are great. The employees are always super friendly and helpful and obvious book lovers which just makes the experience so much better!

Given that San Clemente is a touristy area, its probably expected that prices here arent great for used books. Also, they dont seem to be very discerning about what they take in, so some of their books are in rough shape; you definitely want to inspect things before you buy. They do have a very wide selection, but seem to be conspicuously missing book #1 in any series in which you could be interested. Otherwise, this place is clean, quaint, and picturesque, with kind and helpful staff (though a lack of any form of inventory system limits their helpfulness).

Best used bookstore in the southland!! It is worth the trip to go here. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Bring in some gently used books to get credit toward your purchase. They have a great selection of used books, as well as great Bookish gifts! You wont be disappointed!

I love this book store! The books are clean, the sections are organized and they have best sellers on display so it’s fun and easy to find good books to read. My favorite part are the thoughtfully-placed, comfy chairs inviting customers to read. Their 5-Star coupons on top of the 1/2 off pricing system makes shopping here a real bargain, too!

We love this place!! It’s an hour away from where we live but always absolutely worth the drive every time! It’s kept very clean and organized and feels so relaxing. The employees are super nice and helpful and the costumer service is great!! Definitely recommend!

A great spot for used books! The selection is huge and even includes newly released books. The kids section is a whole room, includes a lot of variety, AND it’s adorable.

What a great book store— new books, old books, exchanged books. Any time I ask where a book might be they take me over and help me look for it. And they have a list where you can request a phone call if a book youre looking for comes in.

This is a real gem of a shop tucked away on a side street downtown. Found a couple of books and had a nice - albeit brief - conversation regarding the authors with the clerks. Check it out if you are in the area.

This is only my favorite place in all of San Clemente- it is my little heaven on earth. Used book stores used to overwhelm me and I felt like I had to search high and low to bring home a book, but Beach Town Books always has the best selections of books and it is so clean! I walk out with 4+ books in hand always. They have a buy 3 get 1 free deal always and its truly the best. I am so grateful they have done a fantastic job at keeping this store up because it is my happy place.

I absolutely love this book store, I use to come here every weekend and browse. I just found a book I bought there a few years ago by one of my favorite authors, Thich Nhat Hanh, a very peaceful and humble Buddhist monk from Vietnam. I shall enjoy this read this morning 😊😊😊😊

Nicely organized and clean but the prices were rather high for my wallet. Still they had a nice selection of books I liked so I purchased 4 and left 4 others behind because of price. Nice store if you have a special author as they have a wonderful selection of fiction writers. Lots of spiritual books too and Bibles.

I didnt know what to expect price wise because the area is kind of expensive, but the prices are incredibly reasonable and they even have an option for you to get a free book after a certain number of books purchased. Gentleman working there was extremely helpful and pleasant. I thought I was only going to be in there for maybe 30 minutes and I ended up staying for more than an hour because its so cute and intimate and comfortable. Ill be coming back.

Beach Town Books is a well organized used book store. The staff are helpful and kind d. They offer complementary coffee and have a bathroom for customer use. We went there twice in the week we spent vacation ingredients in San Clemente.

I love beach town books.. I love to go and find new books to find. Often times on weekends Ill walk to beachtown to find a new thriller or fiction book. The staff is friendly and offers suggestions if asked. Ive found a few great finds on their displays that I wouldnt have otherwise read. I also like to take my books their to get credit for something new.

Like that small town feel with an Amazon size selection. The staff is helpful and courteous. Fun little books and crannies to read those pages of reading treasures.

This bookstore is one of my favorite spots in Orange County. Its a relatively small, cozy, and cute place to hang out and browse for books. The kids room is really cute, with sea creatures all along the walls. There are reasonably priced books from floor to ceiling and really friendly employees. They also have fun events, like Pokémon nights where customers can come and trade cards and learn to draw Pokémon together. Overall, its a cute place with great books that feels like home.

Good ol neighborhood mom n pop store thats been around here for ages. Tight selection but you can get your basics here when you need them. Trade in what you got to save some dough, and dont let the cat out when you open the door!

Uniquely Located Book Store amongst the hoity-toity Downtown of San Clemente. The smell of old books is as comforting and familiar like an old church.
