WOW. Where do I begin, the story starts with me being a free diver and living in Hawaii. I started last year and wanted to upgrade to DiveR fins in carbon fiber for more performance in the water and also my gateway into spearfishing. These guys have received multiple phone calls and text messages from me and every single staff member that has answered the phone has been excellent. I never leave reviews on anything simply because I forget quickly about a good experience however, I had to leave this shop a review due to the phenomenal service they have provided me while also wanting to help support this kind of customer service. I could have gone to a local shop here in Hawaii which there are plenty to choose from but every time I tried to go to a different shop I was greeted with rude and unprofessional attitudes and personalities on top of getting robbed with their high mark ups and then beg you to support them. Long story short The Lost Winds shop has helped me every step of the way and they gave me the best price and deals every time, I am truly jealous I don’t have them around but at least they ship for free! Not to mention they always ship my stuff the same day and literally get to Hawaii no less than 3 days, they are awesome!!

I bought online on this shop. But that doesnt matter, Im sure going there is even better. They are a small shop, but they were really great doing everything to send my product and to get it on time.Something you cant get on big online shops youll get it on this one. Love them and Ill definitely buy again if they have the product I want it

Shop local. These guys are great! Called up Eric and arranged for 4 people (my kids and kids friend) to get scuba certified. He took care of everything, arranging an instructor, getting all the gear set up and being very flexible with our party. The instructor, Dan, was incredible. He was the chill type of instructor that inspires confidence....especially important with my daughter-in-law who had very little ocean experience. However, he showed that he knew his stuff and wasnt cutting corners where safety is concerned. All instruction sessions went perfectly. The gear was all top notch. Some of the wetsuits and regulators had never even been used before. There was a minor miscommunication on scheduling the gear pick up for the rest of the party that was already certified, but they apologized profusely and made it all right as quickly as possible. Overall a great experience ... and we have 4 new divers in the family. When they get a compressor in the shop, they will truly be the best in South OC.

This place is awesome! Owner was really welcoming and had a lot of great advice about all the different gear. I came in for new power bands and he made me custom ones in less than 5-minutes. Stoked to have this dive shop in town!

Excellent products, but the service and knowledge provided by the owner, Eric, is what really made the difference to me. I was new to diving and didn’t know much about proper gear or technique. Eric spent over 2 hours with us in his shop explaining gear, local dive spots, and invited us to his class to further learn breathing techniques. Highly recommend if you’re new or experienced in diving to use Eric and his local dive ship for your needs. It’s made diving an enjoyable experience for me.

Eric, as an owner of this amazing dive shop, is extremely knowledgeable, consultative, and really tries to understand the goal of each every person that comes into the shop and what their needs are. You’re not going to get sold things that you don’t need, but you are going to get expert advice as Eric is an accomplished waterman himself- as is the rest of the staff. Lost Winds Dive Shop got me into spearfishing and freediving over 3 years ago when they first opened. Since then, I’ve come back time and time again for one simple reason- they care. I’ve shopped around at several other dive shops across the country and I’ve never encountered a staff that is so willing to go out of their way to assist a customer.My friend and I attended Eric’s PADI Basic Freediver course this past summer. Eric worked around both of our complicated work schedules to ensure we received top-notch instruction and maximized the training value of the course. I would highly recommend this course to anyone interested in getting into spearfishing or freediving.Eric and his crew are always willing to help a customer. Be it with some tips for a good dive spot, how to predict good dive conditions, or what gear you’ll need to get the job done- these guys have got you covered.I’ve since moved over to the East Coast and can’t swing by the shop as easily as before. Nonetheless, Lost Winds will always be my first choice for any dive gear. Keep up the good work guys!

Signed up for the PADI free dive course and was very pleased with both the material and training. Our guide was very friendly, knowledgeable, and thurough from beginning to end. And I would recommend this program and help support this local business again.

Amazing! Eric is extremely helpful and detail oriented. Put together an order and shipped same day while also spending at least an hour with me on the phone to help me make decisions on what to get. He was happy to go the extra mile by FaceTiming and texting from the shop to show product details. Hope I get to visit in person someday. At the time, there was a deal where orders placed directly on their website receive a small discount (no need to go through Amazon even though its possible).

Ive been to Erics (Owner) shop over the last few years, and I can say that this small locally owned business is the absolute best in all of Southern California.If you cant find something on their vast online website, you can call Eric and he will order it for you.Did I mention that he also has classes and charters? Overall, they have a great layout for their store, professional employees and great classes to get you up and going.

I love this place! I came into this dive shop a few months ago to get dialed in for a trip to Florida and the shop owner Eric was super helpful. He asked me what my goals are for the equipment I was purchasing and made sure everything I purchased was a perfect fit. Plus he took the time to explain the different features and price differences. I ended up taking Eric’s freedive course and super glad I did! After a 1-day course I was able to hold my breath for almost 3-minutes and could dive 55 feet So happy I came here, highly recommend this shop to anyone that needs dive gear for snorkeling, freediving, spearfishing or scuba!

Wow this place is awesome! I came into the shop on a whim with my friend who was just getting into diving and after talking with Eric the owner we decided to sign up for his freedive course and I’m so happy I did! I learned so much about diving safely, learned to hold my breath for over 2-minutes and dove past 40 feet on a single breath. Eric is a great instructor and has a clean and organized shop. Highly recommend this shop to all.

Lost Winds is awesome! It has everything you need for your diving needs. My husband comes here all the time to get stuff to go diving or spearfishing. He loves when lobster season comes around and Eric is always so helpful to make sure hes got all the right equipment and will be safe in the water.
