I have been coming to this supermarket for years and never had a bad experience until today. Very disappointed at the meat area when I was bypassed - clearly I was next in line. The gentlemen standing next to me even said I was next in line but didnt even get acknowledgment from the butcher. I was literally non existent to him so I decided to walk away. I addressed my disappointment to the manager on duty about my experience and he offered to help me personally and apologized. I politely declined at this point. Nevertheless they have good selection on products. Im only giving 2 stars because of my experience today.
Well stocked with a wide variety of produce and Filipino foods. They are maintaining social distancing and almost everyone there had a mask on, so glad to see a business taking things seriously! We got fresh bread and my kid (born in the Philippines) was able to get some food that they havent had in a while and Im too afraid to attempt to cook. The smile on their face was worth the trip. Service was great. Always a little crowded but its a grocery store? Its gonna be crowded. (Also the siopao and lumpia at the Chow King take out are amazeballs. SO GOOD).
Excellent customer service. The place is organized and the clean. They open late at night. However you can only have your fish cleaned till 8:00 p.m. there is a plenty of parking spots available.
Very disappointed....I have a family of 7 and we were about to buy a lot of groceries mainly sea food for a Mother’s Day party. After going into the bathroom I wanted to put all my food back on the shelf. The cleanliness of the bathroom was so repulsive I immediately regretted ever walking in the bathroom. The bathroom schedule needs to be addressed to insure someone is regularly cleaning the bathroom. There is raw food, live food, etc and The supervisors/general managers need to provide a safe and clean space not a third world environment. If the store associates can’t maintain a regularly clean space the general managers need to roll up their sleeves and clean. If the general manager doesn’t want to clean they need to be replaced. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy in the bathroom. Seafood city is one of the best places to get a great deal on seafood but if it’s not going to maintain a safe and clean environment I will call the Heath department of San Diego and make a report against their permit to operate, I would encourage all other who read this post to do the same. We deserve a safe and clean environment when we purchase food.
Seafood City Supermarket has also cooked food ready to eat with grilled meat and fish. They have value meals less than $15 combo that comes with steamed rice, meat and side order. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Best Philippino supermarket in SD! I love getting lunch after grocery, stop to get grilled pompano and red robin empanadas~
So much fresh seafood, only thing i couldnt find there was tilapia, but the price they had on while prawns with the heads was a great deal!!!
Park far away and bring your own shopping bags. Expect delays and dont forget to be patient. Unexpectedly bumping into your relatives is always nice. Some items you can only get here!
Variety of seafood available here as well as many grocery items. Its a big supermarket. I believe owner is a Philippino. There are many special items from Philippines.
Filipino supermarket with fresh fish and rude service. The brands they carry were different from the other seafood city locations so they were missing many items that you can find at the other locations.
It needed some facelift/expansion to update the ambiance. It could learn a lot from the seafood grille in Las Vegas.
Their fish service is slow compared to other Asian markets but less pricey. I mainly come here for fish and the Filipino pastries--Cassava cakes, etc.
This supermaket is super bad. The cashier taking very long time to check out. I have been waiting for 20 mins to check out. They dont know or dont remember the code of the product. So slow and really bad.
Seafood City, commonly referred to as Filipino Ranch 99, is the place to be if you enjoy cheese on your sweet bread. Do you like purple? Cause everything here that is purple is edible: ube, taro, and crayons. Do you like delicious food named after Spanish bad words? Of course you do you Puto lover, bendajo. If you miss the Philippines and gambling, this is your spot.
A lot of their stuff are ran by another company that doesnt accept EBT
Found a fly in my pre packaged dragon fruit..probably won’t ever buy fruit from them again...I wish there was more attention to detail and it was more cleaner
Lots of selection and great deals. The awesome sights and smells of all the amazing dishes was well worth the trip
Best Asian store ever with variety of choices for all to come and try. Fresh fish, squid and crab come check it out you wont be disappointed.
The parking is challenging sometimes, but there some decent eats in that store. Primarily went in to go to Grill City for bbq. Still somewhat exploring their selections. Its not as aesthetically good looking as your chain supermarkets but the prices can be decent.
It could be cleaner and the seafood and meat section could be more fresh it smells like fish and meat are expired.
Been going here for years. Service is always great and food is just straight up 🔥🔥💯💯. Pretty sure by now, everyone knows this supermarket so not gonna sound redundant. BUT please do come thru if you’ve never had Filipino food. ITS A MUST GET for anyone, especially if you’re in San Diego on vacation mode.
I purchased some warm pre-made noodles. When I got home to eat, they tasted old and not fresh! Yuck!!
Delicious and sweet.
This place is organized and clean. Two bakeries are inside on the right side and back side of the place. Theres grill city where you can buy cooked Filipino food. Whether youre craving grilled bbq, grilled fish/seafood, and soup. The bakeries on the other hand have a wide array of baked goods from tupi, binating, kutsinta, ube halaya to bibingka, and so much more. Whatever cravings you have this place has it. Unfortunately, Seafood City stopped selling Aizas pastillas, hence, less one star.
Asian food... super good. its so tasty. the service here is better than most. i can see why they have so many great reviews.
Lots of variety. Feels almost like you are in the Philippines!
Asian food here - super tasty. Visited Sat afternoon. This place has a cool design. Similar to a place in Denver I liked.
Good stock of Asian Food thumbs up
Variety of fresh seafood and international foods
Go to place for asian food needs. Clean and helpful crew. Good job guys.
Fish are fresh and tasty 😋...
Great Asian store.
Convenient to shop basic kitchen and cooking needs..
Purchased whole fish and when I got it home to clean it, very smelly and not fresh. We threw it out. Store was also overcrowded and no process for covid social distancing.
Seafood city is a famous Filipino Market.. It stands out for its variety of fishes.. They have both frozen and fresh fish varieties.. I would often pick up anchovies, sardines and mackerals from there.. Squid will also be fresh and good..Other than fishes, there are a few unique vegetables.. You would always fine something useful.. Price is reasonable..
Tried getting rice there but they were wiped out. Just like in all other stores certain items are hard to find. I thought I would have more luck there. As a tip, ask the store manager when they expect the next shipment of whatever product you need will come in. Good luck hunting. Be safe.
Liked all the options. Definitely a spot for Filipino food. While theres a focus on seafood, they have bakery options, street food, and groceries. Only reason for 4-stars is that some of their prices are not competitive - but not out-of-line either...
Great place to get your Filipino fix! Like a little Manila town! Everything you could possibly want to eat, that youve been craving! Love this place! More varieties to choose from at this location.
Fish here are very fresh if you are looking for fresh fish go here.
They serve large portions and for affordable pricing. nice staff members. They never disappoint.
Good people and good selection
Brawadis is the Goat
Ok
Learned how to gut fish lol
Good place for affordable seafood and instant ramen noodles.
Too many items on floor making social distancing very difficult. Recommend using only designsted shelves vs stacking boxes at end of ailse (or worse yet, in the middle of ailse).
This place is a hot mess to park and shop in but its where I go for my Filipino food fix. Parking lot is always packed and lets just say not the best drivers. Inside the store has multiple stores so you need to buy certain things at those places. You can get fresh longanisa, huge variety of fresh fish, and fresh pandesal
Love coming here with my mom to get all the ingredients to make her amazing homemade Filipino food! They pretty much have everything you need!
This is pretty typical but the raw fish supply is big compared to everything else. Fresh too. Great place.
Nice, clean, ample parking. Prices of groceries and produce are good when on sale. Inside the building, theres three vendors: Grill City is 3 star in food taste. Filipino desserts plus is 2 star - desserts are loaded with sugar, food coloring and preservatives. Valerios bread and snacks are 4 stars.
Great place authentic Asian products and produce. Bringing back sights and smells from the palengke. Awesome BBQ sticks.
They had what I was looking for. The store is too crowded for me. The staff are accommodating enough. My children were given kind and patient attention. There is a fairly strong fish odor. Seeing as its a seafood market the scent is expected.
This store is awesome. The fish here is fresh and they even cook it for you if you ask!Would give it 5 stars but the wait for the butcher to help me out took over 10 minutes and there was only 1 other person in line.
Good selections.
Best seafood in San Diego. I wish the rest of the store was bigger/more variety.
They need to show that they care for their customers. Most of their shopping carts kids seats are not open for the legs to get through. On top of that the carts are hard to push. How about oiling those wheels?? It is also a shame that they dont have cart rack in the parking lot. Shoppers leave carts just everywhere. This posts risks to cars parked in the area. They have been doing business for so many years, it is a shame that they dont pay attention to these things.
Pretty nice one! Gave 4 stars instead of 5 mainly because it did not have as large selection of food in the grill area. That said, food I purchased (grilled chicken & pork on a stick) was nothing short of very delish!! Would recommend stopping by if you already havent and look forward to visiting again if in town!! Would like to add that this was my first time going to this one.
Great Filipinos Supermarket. Various varities of ingredients for your dishes. With on-site ready to eat food stands and a fresh baked bakery are the plus. Taking one star away for crazy parking. Else, this is a nice place to sho.
Buy Asian food
There are new food places here since the last time I stopped in! Great addition! Will have to stop by more often. Clean and lots of good selection throughout
This food store have reallly fresh seafood. Also, you can fry your fish for free. Amazing!!
This is my go-to asian market in the area. Good produce and a wide variety of hot food and other products.
We always go here for our filipino food fix. Love the desserts and snacks. I dont care much for the grill stuff. They have plenty of vegetables to choose from and seasonings you cant find in some stores. Price is good. Location is good but parking can be challenging at times.
Good place but need more food chains here like Jollibee and Chowking as its just KFC in here unlike other locations.
There chicken taste funny but they have a great selection of filipino items.
They have what we need .However dont eat at their food bar,Food dont taste good.It was 15 of us who eat and we all agree. However, the breakfast is great and inexpensive. We would come again for breakfast.
Dont try to call for help with prices. I called today to find out a per pound price for squid (Im buying a large amount) and the person on the phone said I dont know the price, I cant help you, Im a cashier, goodbye. Thats it ! Wow. Lucky Sefood or H-Mart will likely get my business.
I love seafoodcity for there meals to go there perfect for a quick grab and go and totally worth it for a amazing price I recommend it to all my friends
Asian goodies!
Very overpriced. The fish takes long even if you want it cleaned. Staff becomes judgement if you dont speak Tagalog. I got so many judgemental faces when i speak in English.
Everything too cook up a Filipino dish is here. Vegetables and sea food are fresh. Could of been a 5 if it wasn’t for ignorant people smoking near entrance.
The Worst watermelon I ever bought in my life. How can you guys sell spoiled & fermented watermelons for $9!??? Unfortunately we can’t even bring it back !!!
You can easily find what you are looking for.. sea foods are all fresh..vegetables are all fresh.. I always feel at home whenever Im there..
You can buy if you want to cook aned eat fresh also you buy to go or eat inside the place.
Good idea to have street food stalls inside. It would be cooler to have them post up outside.
I had to change from a 5 star to a 3 star because there were multiple dead flies and dried blood all in the fresh meat area. Department of Public health should come and inspect for food safety. I definitely have to call this in. UNACCEPTABLE!!! The prices and varieties are a plus.
Great service and representative of most, if not all, regions of the Orient and Pacific Islands. I find things here that I cannot get in my home state of South Carolina.
Love that there is a store where I am able to purchase goodies from home that other grocery stores dont carry....its close enough to being home on the island! I especially love the restaurant located in the store....so yummy!!!
Seafood City is a place to buy your Asian grocery need. Order fresh fish and have them fry it while you wait. It is also a place to eat when you are craving for some Filipino food. They are here in one place.
Very convenient
Its a Filipino grocery store.. I love to buy avacodo ice cream
