Let me first start off by saying that I called 6 automotive repair shops to get a quote for my car’s alternator and they were the most friendly shop that I spoke with.I gave them my info for a quote, and within 20 minutes, the owner Dave personally called me to chat. He let me know his quote included a factory brand new alternator, and that he could get me in ASAP for the replacement. Every shop I spoke with didn’t offer genuine Honda parts, and some were too busy to even let me know when I could come in. To top it off, their quote was $477 cheaper than the quote I got from my dealership.I left my car with them overnight, and the next morning the owner called me again to tell me it wasn’t the alternator, but the battery - and that I probably had it under warranty, so he didn’t want to take my money until I spoke with my car dealership’s mechanic. They went above and beyond to make sure I didn’t have to spend any extra money out of pocket, and wouldn’t even take a $20 tip I offered! These guys are seriously first class. To top it off, my dealership covered my battery replacement, so I spent money on the diagnostic test they ran.Another thing - his lead mechanic has been there 33 years. That’s an amazing testament at just how well the owner treats people.I highly recommend these guys, especially since they use genuine parts and have so much experience!Hontech just earned a lifetime customer.

Im a single woman and I needed to find a mechanic for my 2008 Honda Accord. From the minute I met Dave and his team, Ive never had a problem with my Honda. Just took my Honda in to HonTech for the first time yesterday. It was my first time getting my car serviced not at a dealership, and it was such a good experience. Dave and his staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to speak with. Within a couple hours of dropping it off for a major check up, I got a comprehensive text message with all the recommended work and pricing, as well as “upcoming work” to think about. I’ve never had this experience where I did not feel pressured and sold into the work needing to be done. I was able to do my research and get back to Dave with what I wanted done, and they had everything ready when they said they would and even gave me a loaner car for the day nearly for free. When I came back to get the car, Dave took his time to explain everything and asked me to obtain the full history of my car maintenance so he could make better recommendations. It was a great experience and I will not be taking my car into a dealership again. HonTech has a lifetime customer in me.

First time customer with Hontech. Highly recommended by a friend. My 2009 Honda needed the Service B oil change. Rotated tires, checked break lining, tested battery, wheel alignment, power steering pump. I know this due to the very detailed notes indicated on invoice. Then clearly noted recommendations for future upkeep based on work performed or not, previously. Very appreciative of the notations and suggested priority. Very appreciative of friends recommendation. Kept me up on the progress through text message, which also says alot.If you have a honda or toyota that needs work, give dave a call he will give you a detailed discription of what might be wrong, how long it might take and keep you updated during the time your vehicle is in his care. Dave will make you feel assured youre not gonna get ripped off like most shops usually will .If your a north park native or even a new comer to the neighborhood, cant go wrong or too far for quality work.

Ive always avoided auto dealerships when it comes to car repairs and I had a great repair shop in Atlanta but when I moved to San Diego I was afraid I would have to go down the dealership repair route for my 2013 Honda Civic. Imagine my pleasure when I found Hontech Automotive in my neighborhood. From the car drop off, to the estimation of costs to the actual work and pickup the entire process was easy, straightforward and fairly priced. I highly recommend these guys and Im happy to have found them.

The Hontech team is fantastic! Dave and Susan are always courteous, competent, and fair. I scheduled a wheel alignment in conjunction with my Prius’ last oil change, and after checking the alignment they saw that it did not require adjustment, so they did not perform it nor charge me for it. They could have gone ahead and done the unnecessary alignment, or simply not done it and still charged me for it — as I believe some of their competitors might have done. HONTECH = INTEGRITY. If you own a Japanese import and do not go to Hontech for all of your servicing needs, then you are making a mistake. THEY ARE THE BEST!

That made me feel very special. Later in the day after I got home, I was reading NextDoor, the online neighborhood blog. Someone ask for a Honda repair referral. Great place to get your Honda serviced! I started going there about 6 years ago when on recommendation by my neighbor. Loved them instantly. It is family owned and you can feel it when youre there. Dave and Susie and the staff are so friendly. They remember you and your car and take care of you like no other place Ive been.

Honest in the checking and services. They tell me what is recommended versus what is needed and lastly, what is upcoming in the future. They are transparent about their prices and the compares parts pretty accurately. They give me a call before performing addition services - no surprises. Prices are mentioned first upfront and clearly indicates the services that were performed.Friendly services both from Mike and David.Mike always addresses me by sir even though Im young enough to be their son.The waiting area is spacious, tidy and comfortable. The bathroom is also clean.Advice is to make an appointment and your car will be in and out in no time.Lastly, cafes and restaurants are within a block so you can spend your time working or relaxing while waiting.Overall, the service is good; the location is convenient; the price is reasonable. Im returning to get my Prius serviced.

I have been a customer of Hontech since moving to San Diego from San Francisco. They are simply the best. I had a 1989 Honda Civic SI and 2005 Honda Civic SI. They are thorough, honest and reliable. I know when I get in my car, that everything is going to work as they check all the important things. Tires, pressure, window wipers, fluids and I dont have to tell them what to do. They know. I cannot imagine anyone ever saying anything even remotely negative about Hontech. It is not true. They work on certain cars. Period. I am lucky I own one. I am thinking of buying another and they will check it out for me and give me their best advice. I give them a 20 out of 1-5!

After last service my 19 year old MDX runs like new. The 20 minute drive to get there is worth the effort and they are one of the best auto service places I’ve used in over 70 years of driving.

I will never take my Acura to another place. The people here are so personable and they talk you through the entire process so you make sure you know what youre paying for.

I am really happy to have found Hondtech: our 159k miles Prius had a tingling on the valves for years that no mechanic was ever able to fix it. With a special overnight cleaning they fixed and the car is no longer producing this scary sound.Daves team is very experienced and honest and on top of this they offer an exceptional customer care. My 2012 civic si bent a valve and broke a spring. Dave and his crew had my head removed and fixed. They replaced all the associated parts after installing the head and gave me a very good price for the work they performed. They also provided me with a loaner car during this maintenance period. The turn around time was fast and Im very pleased with their work. Dave gave me minimum 3 time a week updates on what was going on.TL;DR - Great prices, great service, great people and they warranty their work. Couldnt have picked a better place.

Dishonest ServiceI called them to ask for a price for service/repair, and the sales representative and/or manager told me that he will call me back in a few minutes to give me an estimate of the price. I waited for him to call me back, but he never called. This is a strong sign of dishonesty and poor customer service. Im so glad that I discovered their dishonesty before taking my car there for service, because the worst could happen. Never go there or recommend this place to anyone. Eventually, they will lose customers and money, but not me.
