I can’t say enough great things about Pacific Highway Auto Repair. I took my 2013 Audi Q5 in for an oil change, tire rotation, serpentine belt and rear brake pads and rotor replacement. Clinton and his crew were able to perform all maintenance super quickly using quality parts for well below the dealers costs. Clinton is professional, knowledgeable and friendly. If you’re looking for an honest and trust worthy business to service your car this is it. I will be bringing my car here for all future maintenance.

This place is great! I requested a quote for a battery replacement and the price given was the best I found and they installed a premium battery which was better than from the other quotes I received. I have a 2009 BMW 335i Coupe and it isnt a very straightforward replacement but I made an appointment and brought it in and it took them all of 15 mins to install it and I was on my way. Every one was helpful and professional. This is going to be where I go for all my car needs.

I had work done on two cars in the same day and they were very helpful and accommodating.They use a great text system that shows you what work needs to done on your car.I feel like these are honest mechanics and I would trust them with my car. They recommend rear breaks, spark plugs and cabin filter on my car. I opted not to have them do it because I thought I could do the job for less myself. I was able to do the job myself and the job definitely needed to be done which increase my trust in them. The only reason why I opted to do it myself was to save a little money it cost me a days work and saved me $700 in labor. So $700 dollars for 8 hours of work is not bad for a shop.I would recommend them to a friend and to u.

This is my go to mechanic now! I drive a high performance luxury vehicle & have had the worse luck finding an honest & reliable mechanic (dealership did me wrong too). These guys are awesome & made me feel confident doing business with them. I trust them & will ONLY be taking my cars to them from now on. Clinton is an expert & knows what he’s doing. The mechanics as well (didn’t catch their names) but they were also very knowledgeable, friendly & don’t mind explaining things to you so there is clarity. A+ business!!

I had a terrible squeaking noise when I applied the brakes. The folks at the shop did a very timely job at replacing front brake rotors, calipers and bearings so I could continue on my road trip. Im now 400 miles down the road and the squeak has returned. I really depend on people more experienced than myself to help me in a tight spot. Didnt happen this time.

Let me be clear. Curtis’ positive reviews are certainly an understatement. His people are fast knowledgeable efficient and no nonsense. I just had a tail light replacement and he got me in and out of there in 20 minutes. I bought a Mercedes a few months back and needed to have diagnostic on convertible top ... the motor had been replaced recently (he called to let me know) it just needed hydraulic fluid dispersed through the system.Clinton is a very nice guy (and professional) and was able to let me know from a full inspection what else was needed to bring it all up to par.It was finished w/in a day and I was completely informed about what the recommended maintenance points were before the work was done (control arms, fuel system cleaning, etc.)I’m very pleased with everything, the car performs beautifully. I always do a lot of research before choosing a auto shop to get my car serviced or repaired, especially after my uncle passed away he owned (Dave’s Auto) in Carlsbad. Which of course I always went to him to get my repairs done.After my research and reading the reviews, I always read ⭐️ first and from my experience I don’t see these single superstars being honest, they must have something else going on in life and everything is a ⭐️.The manager Clinton he was answering my ?’s before I could ask. My main concern was the damage to the car worth the repair or should I just take my loss and get another car. He stated that they were going to take a look at the part of the car that was hit (hit and run) to make sure the frame was safe and there isn’t a lot more damage that we can’t see, Long story short I was worried about a lot of unnecessary repairs for a car that should be salvaged and was reassured before I could ask the questions.I would highly recommend this shop to anyone in SanDiego. Philip is awesome. Its not easy maintaining a classic old BMW (1984 633 CSi). Parts are sometimes difficult to find and having a mechanic that has experience working on older cars is a huge bonus. Paciific Highway Auto Repair has done an excellent job keeping my coupe in action.

Staff is awesome, and their online car report and payment system is a piece of cake to use. I double checked their prices on a different source and they seemed spot on for the repairs I needed and our region. Would highly recommend.

Had to get a couple gaskets replaced to fix oil leaks in my BMW. Not only were they quick with the repair, but also no one can ever be mad with the satisfaction of having a certified euro mechanic getting the job done for you. And when it came to doing it myself, I can’t warranty myself. The service came with a great warranty much better than the dealer and a much better price, well worth the money.

Such an amazing experience! Philip really made me feel like I was being treated as a friend. Speaking for someone who had to have some major work done in preparation for a cross-country drive, the total transparency was so appreciated. I travel for work and we were able to text back and fourth and have exactly the right parts I needed as soon as I returned home. Work was done quickly, I was kept in the loop the entire time (what step they were on, any additional issues found), and most importantly; I feel extremely confident now in my cars abilities to take me safely back to the East Coast. Since moving to San Diego, I have been a repeat customer and I cant recommend these guys and gals enough.

The nightmare mechanic shop everyone fears. Please read the other one star reviews. It is the exact same story I experienced. I went in for a simple fix and many more problems were discovered. Phillip is great at explaining what is happening to your vehicle and is very polite, but the fixes are incredibly over priced and the issues are exaggerated. I spent over $1000 in labor and $1300 in parts and the problem still exists. When I asked about the high labor costs he kept circling back to the warranty and the great products they put in my truck.I am not going back to the shop to cash in on the warranty his company offers because I simply do not trust them and I am scared to death of spending even more of my paycheck on a ruse. I am sorely disappointed and frustrated.

Just picked up my car from there and I couldnt have had a better experience. I usually like to be in and out of the mechanic and they made it very painless for me. I dropped of my car with the tow truck, signed the paperwork, they even gave me a discount for enterprise rental cars, and picked it up the next day. Also I believe they gave me a discount based on my job too.This is the second time Ive been there and Phil and the front office are very cool and helpful. Both times when I dropped off my car they called explaining what had happened to the car and what it would take to repair it. When i picked up the car Phil was great in explaining what they did and what probably caused the problem by showing me what work they performed. Overall just a great experience and excellent work.A big plus is they have a super cute dog that will come up to you to ask you to play with him politely. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a reliable shop that will not try to take advantage of you. Thanks guys!

I had two disappointing experiences at this location. The first time, the manager tried to slip an extra line item into the bill. It was for an inspection that he said would be covered by insurance. He admitted that he never called the insurance company and then acted like he was doing me a big favor by not charging me for it. When I went back because the problem persisted, he wanted to charge me the inspection to fee again and claimed that it was not his work even though his guy had worked on it. Honesty and straightforwardness are crucial qualities I look for in any mechanic. If these traits are important to you, I suggest that you keep looking.

This is one of the closest auto repair shops to my home and from my experience, I do believe they are honest and transparent. Ive had my car brought here on 2 occasions thus far. The first was to diagnose a starting issue, which was somehow miraculously resolved before a mechanic even had a chance to pop the hood. The manager, Phil, let me know immediately that the car had started normally and gave me the option to drive the car off the lot without a fee. I appreciated the honesty expressed on that day.The second time I made an appointment and drove the car in to have a check engine light diagnosed. There was a diagnosis fee of about $118 but after informing me of the suspected issues, there was no pressure for me to complete the repairs with him. Ultimately, I ended up doing some research and completing the repairs on my own, but the diagnosis was helpful and worth the money in my opinion.

STAY AWAY!!!!! Philip is sarcastic and being in the automotive business is not the right place for such nasty attitude. He will tell you the customer service experience is better than when Chad was there. Not true! AVOID this place as the good reviews were left when another person was running this place. NOW with a manager with ZERO European experience. I had asked for a ride home and was told Uber is around therefore I have to pay, when someone had already said it would be fine to have them drop me off. I was not aware they are now servicing all kinds of vehicles if so I’d never take my car there! They no longer do smogs as they state otherwise on the website. Such an inconvenience!!! Go elsewhere, and save your time for something that is worth it & were your business will be valued.

In the fall, I went in for an oil change and a freon check as I was driving from SD to San Francisco and wanted to make sure I had AC and my car was running smoothly. I chose this place because it had excellent Google Reviews. They were really nice when I dropped my car off and they even dropped me off in Mission Valley where I needed to go work that day. I was reassured that it wouldnt take more than a few hours to do the oil change. I received a call saying that the freon was leaking etc and it would be more money. Okay, I need AC so I agreed. They took my car apart. They then called saying that the car wouldnt be ready until the next day. I asked if they could put the car back together again so that I could at least get to work in north county the next day. They said they would add an additional charge to do that, and they pretty much forced me to rent a car through a skeezy company they have a deal with. The rental was $20 per day (less than what they told me it would cost to put the car back together again) and they told me that the rental company could pick me up. I call the rental company, the rental company says that they cannot pick me up and the auto shop cannot help me get to the rental place either. So now Im forced to pay for an uber to Little Italy to get this rental car... Rental Car Cafe was so sketchy. I then had to drive, in rush hour, from Little Italy back up to North County where I live. The next day I get a call from the auto repair shop saying that the manufacturer recalled a part and that it needs to be replaced. I cant remember exactly what all needed to be done, but it kept piling up. Eventually, I got my car back and paid around $1500 for everything (!!! I was so upset because I had not budgeted for this, I mean I only wanted my oil changed and a freon check!) and was reassured by the owner of Pacific Highway Auto Repair that it would be safe to drive to San Francisco. I do appreciate his wanting to explain to me exactly what was wrong with my car, and perhaps he didnt mean for it to be this way, but his explanations were a bit demeaning and mansplainy. The next day, I began to drive to San Francisco and in the middle of nowhere on I-5 way north of LA, my car breaks down. I have NEVER had this happen before and my car worked just fine before I had them work on it. Pacific Highway Auto Repair shop is closed on Sundays so I am unable to get in touch with them, I just get their voicemail. I wait four hours on the side of the road in the heat for a tow truck. Im still upset with how everything went down. My experience with this shop was so negative that it actually encouraged me to begin learning how to care for my car myself. The lack of concern or sympathy from Pacific Highway Auto Repair once my car was no longer in their shop was frustrating. I wont be going back.

This place was awesome! Walked in at midday because my car was parked close and wouldn’t start at lunchtime. They brought a jumper right away and we drove it to the shop. They tested to make sure it was the battery (it was) and had me back in business and on the road by quitting time. What lifesavers! They made a horrible experience into a pleasant one. From the moment I called for information due to a check engine light and engine failure, they made me feel welcome, they made me feel like they knew exactly what they were doing, and I really felt like they cared about how to get me back on the road. They didn’t try to force any services that I didn’t want, but provided me with a list of services they recommend I get in the near future. Couldn’t be more happy with my experience, and I’ll absolutely be coming back.
