I tried their soy mocha. Soy milk is smooth, not chalky. Mocha tastes great, not too sweet, but you are welcome to add more brown sugar if you want to make that caramel finish little sweeter. I also got a bag of their beans. Outside seating available. I think its worth the drive even if you live in central San Diego.

King Slaayerrrrrr is so good. I enjoyed the cold beverage. Had a great cinnamon flavor to it. Other specialty drinks are worth trying out and the staff is willing to answer questions you may have about their coffee. Great decor!

I was overjoyed and overjoyed. Sandwiches and vegetarian spaghetti are two of my favorite foods. Actually, its a great place. This is something I would suggest to others. Weve come here to eat.

Hob Coffee is our new favorite coffee shop! They have a lot of different drink options on the menu with very creative names too :) We like that their coffee is not extremely sweet like other places. The vibe in the shop is also very nice, it’s a very modern looking place with nice tables and cool decor. I definitely recommend checking this place out! It’ll probably become your favorite coffee shop too :)

Very manly coffee place... I walked in and thought I was going to grow a beard, lol. But seriously, as a tea drinker I had a lavender chai latte with almond milk, and it was delicious, and politely served!

Great coffee and great staff. Had the Mexican mocha and the 1904 both really good. If you like your specialty coffees not to sweet go here. They have a huge selection of great sounding specialty coffees. Will definitely have to come back and try them. Wonderful vibe, seems like a neighborhood coffee and proud of it. Definitely recommend giving them a try when in the area!

Love this place! No corporate feel like the big chains, not super modern/minimalist and snobby like some of the shops by the coast, not froo froo with plants and trinkets for sale. Just....awesome.....coffee.And if you show up a couple minutes before 8am they don’t make you wait outside. They are normal people and have great service. Feels like a coffee shop should feel!

You know what, I have tried several coffee shops that act like they know what a cortado (spanish origin) is or what Italian coffee is, and they just never know. Its not that I think Italian coffee is superior, its just that I think its different and you should honor that, its also a lot of fun to explore the different flavor of the brewing methods. I was impressed with their cortado and macchiato, they tasted different! The cortado was more acidic and the mach was creamier and less intense acidically. They kind of looked the same, but I blame that on having to get them in to go cups instead of sitting down and enjoying them in an in-house cup. The macchiato and the cortado definitely tasted different, and I was impressed with the cortado. Its my favorite. I noticed that they sell their own beans as well, and they have beans from different continents, which is exciting. I think it really says something when you have a variety of beans instead of just focusing on one part of the world. I really like that they have so many different options for brewing your coffee, and their prices are reasonable for the quality and variety that they provide. I was worried from some of the reviews on here that they were just another dessert coffee shop with special syrups and hyped up beans, but I was impressed that they were able to make a simple espresso drink taste lovely instead of like a nasty espresso shot with milk. Im exciting to come back again next week and try some more coffee! ***Please dont judge me for being a Karen lol 🤣

The baristas at this coffee shop need better training. Or maybe it’s just the one young lady who attended us. She made me a 1990’s style cappuccino complete with the bitter espresso and over-frothed milk. She left my espresso waiting while she figured herself out. My cup was hot to the touch and when she remade it, it was watery. I hope that you succeed in your business but consistency is key.

I really love this coffee. I have always had great drinks from them. And the Fivestar rewards is worth it. The caffeine in their drinks keeps me buzzing all day and all night.Only complaint was my order was wrong when I ordered in person with a mask. But otherwise brilliant.

I am a nerd. I love Harry Potter, Star Wars, Game of Thrones, etc. So naturally, when I found House I’d Black Coffee Company... I wondered... is it... Sirius Black? Imagine my delight when I found that YES! It is Sirius Black! The menu has a list of coffees and drinks that will delight your heart and your tastebuds.

The ube mochi was delicious! I really enjoyed the lavender vanilla latte, it was delicious albeit a little sweeter than I wouldve liked.

Before heading to a photography trip a group of us decided to meet here to grab our morning coffee and breakfast. When you get here its easily recognizable because the sign can be seen and they also have parking on the street. Although street parking seems bad, its really not hard to find parking for this coffee shop.

I had a quick stop at HOB Coffee and enjoyed it. The service was great, although I happened to drop by when it was quite busy and the so the pourover I had didnt quite get the attention to detail it required, I actually thought it was still great. The staff was really cool and friendly. They have a bunch of gear and what I think really epitomizes what it means to build a brand, theyre doing it quite well. They have some creative drinks on their menu for those that enjoy trying something new other than your basic cup of coffee or espresso. They dont have much in the way of food but the work with what they can I guess, since the place is tiny. Pastries looked good, even though I didnt try them. Worth checking out.

Got an oat cappuccino, and it kinda tasted very bland and weird (something about the oat milk they use probably). The vibe is very beachy/San Diego. I was looking for a cute coffee shop and it was not exactly the vibe I wanted. Still nice though. The people were nice too and I think Id come back for a a different drink.

This is a great place to have some coffee and do some work. I came in on a Monday traffic was steady but quiet enough to do some work. My barista gave great customer service. I ordered a sugarfree Vanilla latte with almond milk and a mocha latte. Both drinks tasted great and also priced well. So, I suggest coming in give them a try and help support small local businesses.

This might be the best coffee in the area yet. All of the lattes Ive had here so far have been nothing short of amazing: perfect amount of flavor, and impossibly smooth. Probably one of the nicest coffee places Ive been to, not to mention badass coffee, very good, competitively priced, but definitely what you pay for is worth it, outstanding coffee.

This area was sorely lacking a real coffee shop, so I was very happy to hear this opened.Iced Vanilla Latte: very balanced, they avoid the common mistake of filling it so full of sugar you cant taste the coffee (looking at you Starbucks).Guatemalan varietal: I bought these beans and made a pour over myself at home, very balanced although a little acidic at first it settled in nicely.

Most of my reviews are of coffee, and House of Black was my 6th coffee stop in 3 days on our San Diego tour. The barista was by far the most inviting, provided the most information about their coffee and espresso offerings, and showed more excitement about the product they were providing of any shop weve been to so far. My girlfriend tried an award winning flavored latte recipe on their menu while I had a pour over so good that Ive been researching both the beans and their pour over equipment since my visit.

One of the best coffee shops I’ve been to in the San Diego area! Had an amazing pourover, and the staff was so incredibly friendly...even gave me a little refill for free! They also have awesome merch.

These guys make great coffee. They work with a roaster in SD and always have fresh batches of single origin beans every couple of days. These guys arent idiots being whatever comes from headquarters, their batches are hand selected and fresh roasted and brewed. Hip styling. One other is that this place has bad acoustics and is really echoey. I can hear conversations in here like Im inside a public bathroom.

Stopped in for some quick drinks on a Saturday. Nice little place, neatly decorated. Grabbed a “Winter is Here” and my friend grabbed a Taro Latte. Both were good!

Great shop and great coffee. I got there around 9 am and there was plenty of room to set up shop and do a little work, though its a little cramped.If youre not all that observant its easy to miss their WiFi sign, just connect to House of Black, not the shorter versions.

What an awesome place for coffee. The atmosphere is really relaxing and the employees go out of their way to make sure your taken care of. I am not from the San Diego area, but when I do visit I will always get my coffee from here. Luckily when I’m not there I can buy my coffee through their website. Thank you.

Very Good Latte. Smooth, Slightly Sweet and no bad after taste I get with most sweeter espressos. I bought some of the beans for my espresso machine at home.

Was finally stoked to see a legit coffee spot opened up in the Mira Mesa/ Scripps Ranch / Sabre Springs area. I dont have to drive 15 minutes+ to my usual coffee spots. Came here on their soft opening weekend and was amazed! One of the best tasting espresso and lattes Ive had outside of Italy and Australia. Another plus was that I was greeted nicely by the owners. Ive only seen one other coffee shop that actually has the owners working side by side with their baristas.

Ive been in a handful of times since their soft opening. Every visit, a pleasant one! Ive had the pleasure of meeting with the proprietors as well as the courteous and friendly staff. Its to my advantage that HoBCoffee is on my way to work. I definitely advise allowing yourself some time for them to prepare your beverage(s), as the baristas put the utmost of care and attention to each one! My personal favorite is the Taro Latte. =)

Good music playing softly. I have passed by this place a dozens of times to go to 7-11 across the parking lot. I love coffee and always wondered what it was like inside - the windows are dark tinted. Today is a cold, windy December 1st day. I need an Americano. I see the Edison bulbs and holiday lights through the windows. Attractive people are going inside. Maybe today is a good time to try HOB! I regret not coming in sooner! I got a Mexican Mocha. Well done with tiny crunchy bits of lightly sweetened dark cocoa and cinnamon suspended in the whipped cream. Not too sweet - perfect. Next time I will get my usual black Americano. Recommended. So nice inside.
