I highly recommend Midway optometry. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable as well as Dr Matthews. They are not conceited and fast to help you. I really liked that they gave me a very thorough evaluation in comparison to other optometry places near by. They also made it easy to get my sons eye evaluated as well and they also have a great selection of frames at affordable prices compared to other places near by. If you want fast friendly service this is the place to go!

Everyone in the office is so helpful. We walked in to ask about what we could do about the scratches on my daughter’s frames and left 30 minutes later with a complete eye exam, an order for new frames and getting the original lenses replaced! Dr. Mathews and his staff do an excellent job at explaining the procedures and diagnosis so that even my young daughter can understand! I highly recommend!!

Dr. Matthews and his entire staff are very kind and friendly. Going thru the eye/vision exam was a lot of fun because of all the equipment they use. One of them in particular was a flashback to when I was a kid playing arcade games. I had never seen such a detailed picture of my eyes and the image that they shared was incredible. This was the best eye exam I have ever had! The entire staff is so welcoming, friendly, and educated. They use imaging that Ive never seen before and it provides a comprehensive overview of every part of your eye. Shelby was so nice and explained everything to me in easy-to-understand detail.Dr. Matthews is a blast. He was easy to talk to and we got to know each other while going through my exam results. Does not sugar coat her words and tells you exactly what is achievable and what is not.I took one star from the rating because the results of one test were clearly inaccurate because my position was not comfortable and thats why I couldnt see. Despite explaining that multiple times, they didnt try to do the test again; they just went with the first results. In addition, their prices are slightly higher than anywhere else but not too bad.Overall, I had a great experience and would highly recommend this place. I feel like I will go back another time if I need new glasses or for a new prescription.

Always a good experience coming to Midway Optometry. They have the checkup routine down to a science and the technicians are so nice and helpful. Ive seen both doctors here for a check-up and theyre fantastic. I really love how they use a variety of different technologies to provide you with such a comprehensive exam for your eyes.

I was very pleased with our visit with Dr. Matthews. I was on the hunt for an optometrist for my 7 year old and am glad we found Dr. Matthews office, the staff was very gentle and kind. They were not pushy nor made me feel like my questions were unnecessary. My daughter felt comfortable and all of the staff were very patient and showed her a couple of their gadgets :)

It quickly becomes clear that Dr. Matthews is as highly professional as he is personable. It’s also clear he has invested heavily in precision equipment to aid in evaluating eyesight. I went in for color-correcting lenses (he has the latest in this hard-to-find technology from Europe) and got the most thorough and comfortable eye exam I’ve ever had from an optometrist. Although the frame selection isn’t vast, it’s high quality and I managed to find frames I really like. If you’re a person interested in maximizing your vision and appreciate quality, confidence-inspiring processes when it comes to your eyes, I would recommend Dr. Matthew’s and Midway Optometry very highly.

My family moved here nearly 2 yrs ago and I discovered that this office accepts Tricare. Got my 2 boys and I in without issues. We also got in with every precaution taken during the pandemic. My experience here was very split. The facility is excellent. It offers up-to-date equipment, a professional staff that greeted me, and overall felt like a great environment. The entire staff has vast medical expertise, they were able to explain everything to me very concisely and took the time to answer my questions which I appreciate.My main issue is with Dr. Matthews. His candor towards my ethnicity and gender made me extremely uncomfortable. He referred to me as a spicy Latina - even though I never told him my ethnicity. He asked if my parents spoke English, told me that when I have kids to teach them Spanish, and asked one of his staff to speak in Spanish to me even though I speak fluent English. He lacks the awareness to professionally treat patients of color. His ignorance would keep me from returning to this facility again, which is a real shame because everything else is excellent.

I had such a great experience with Midway Optometry. Went there for my yearly Eye Exam, and it was clear that the entire staff has a passion for what they do. Dr. Matthews is full of knowledge, wonderfully friendly and very thorough. Ive worn contacts and glasses for years, but my previous optometrist hadnt gone in that much detail about why my eyesight may be getting worse over time. I really appreciated the time he spent with me to get my prescription just right. The rest of the staff is great as well -- I mainly spoke with Shelby and Mayra, and they were both friendly and professional throughout the process of scheduling, conducting initial eye tests, navigating insurance and picking out a new set of glasses. Im recommending these folks to anyone and everyone seeking spectacular eye care!

We were with a small practice that sold to a corporate environment and stayed with them for 3 years. We missed the smaller practice environment and getting to know the team. I believe we have found a new home. Shelby, Myra, and Dr Matthews were great to work with and very knowledgeable.

Dr. Matthews has invested again in the latest technology eye diagnostic machines during covid, and all these new machines not only quickly and better analyze my eyes and retinas, but the new tech machines came up with my new prescription very accurately, as these new glasses are spot on for my complex prescription.

Overall, I had a great experience. Mayra’s customer service was more than I expected. From setting up an appointment, checking in, to picking up my order she was friendly and professional. The medical assistant who ran the preliminary tests was informative and professional. I didn’t not expect to learn more about my eye heath. As for the optometrist, he has my recommendation. He was patient throughout the whole process and took the time to answer any questions. The office was clean and staff did a great job keeping it clean, especially durning the pandemic.
