On the day of my wedding, I lost both wedding rings. It was just like the movies. It was total chaos. We searched everywhere and they were gone. I called up Unicorn and swallowed my pride and told them I had lost the rings… they said don’t worry we will have a set for you to use (the wedding was in only an hour at this point)… they were willing to bring the rings to the wedding! At this point we had to admit to my mother that we had been sitting on this bomb and had to quickly deal with the jeweler to fix this catastrophic problem…. —-I just wish she would have told us earlier that she had taken the rings to the venue early…These guys will be my jeweler for life. Their can do attitude in a time of total crisis was second to none. I would recommend Unicorn to anyone. They will treat you like family.

Inefficient and sometimes rude staff. Bad communication about when my ring would be finished getting sized. Nice selection, but most of the stuff is overpriced. I like the ring I got so I give 3 stars, but I wouldn’t go back.

I love Movado watches. I have three of them. The only problem is not every jeweler can change the battery. One has to go to a Movado designated dealer. That means I have no choice but to use Unicorn Jewelry and I hate going in there. It is always a varying degree of unpleasant experience with their big attitude. I cant speak to anything else about them as that is all I have ever used them for. Thats enough for me.

This is the ONLY Seiko watch authorized store in San Diego. They were very kind and helpful!I will visit again if I need another Seiko watch.

Surprised by the rating. I just had a fantastic experience with the assistance of Camila. Needed to have a gold necklace and pendant fixed. They were able to repair both within 1 hour! The price was reasonable and competitive with others in the area. The quality of work was perfect and exceeded my expectations. The customer service was great. Kindly welcomed and assisted. The store itself is really nice and filled with quality jewelry and watches. I was very impressed by the amount of pieces they carry. 5 stars for sure.

Beware. NOT AN AUTHORIZED BREITLING repair location. I took my watch in and later found this fact out when I was contacted by Unicorn that hundreds of dollars of repairs were required. After a lot of phone calls to the previous watchsmith who is certified by Breitling he told me that he can no long offer any warranty because the watch had been opened by a non certified watchsmith. The apology Unicorn offered was more of an explanation on how they can do the work the same as an authorized repair shop as long as they use the same factory parts. I dont know if this is true but I felt like it was more of a used car repair shop than a fine jeweler.To be fair they did not charge me...although they did open the watch potentially voiding the warranty from the previous servicing. And most of the staff was very helpful and understanding.

AVOID THIS PLACE!!! Doing business with Unicorn Jewelry has been by far the worst experience of any business claiming to be high end. They are truly anything but. I purchased my wifes engagement ring and kept it safe in its box from the date of purchase. I did not take it out except to inspect it and show it to a few friends and family. The day I went to propose I opened it to find a side diamond had fallen out. So on all of our proposal pictures my now wife is covering up the missing diamond. I took it to Unicorn and they replaced the diamond. Around a few months later my wife (who is a speech therapist, not a factory worker) lost ANOTHER diamond. Once again took it in and Unicorn replaced it but not before accusing my wife of being too rough with the ring. At this point they apparently re set every stone and since then we havent had a problem. BUT unfortunately we bought her wedding ring from them as well... What do you know 6 months into marriage we lost another diamond. And at this point we had moved from San Diego. So after deliberation with Unicorn, they had ME pay $60 for shipping and insurance to send it to them. Again, they fixed the wedding ring. But I realized I did not have an appraisal for the ring. So I took the rings to a local jeweler to get an appraiser. After just receiving the ring back from Unicorn the local jeweler said that already on the ring they just fixed, 2 diamonds were loose, gold was flaking off and one of the prongs had fell off of the engagement ring. This was after I just sent it across the country. On top of that the local jeweler told us that the engagement ring once again had a loose stone and was chipping as well.The people are not friendly at unicorn but I can deal with that. What I cannot deal with is paying a premium price for wal-mart quality jewelry.

I took a Casio G Shock model DW6900 in for a new battery on 11May2020. A day or two later I noticed condensation on the display and returned to the shop and they told me the gasket wasnt seated/sealed correctly. I also surmised that the gasket might be worn. In either case, they wrongly informed me that one cannot replace the gasket and that I should buy a new watch. I called their bluff and within 15 minutes of getting home, I found a replacement gasket on Amazon. Additionally, I asked a sales lady if they would buff and polish my wedding ring. I took it off and she looked at me like a scolding mother or grandmother wagging her finger at me because my ring was mildly scratched. I work for the US Navy and my work is physical in nature at times. Who the hell did this lady think she was talking to? I was really mad and walked out afterwards steaming but I kept my cool inside the store. They really dont know what customer service is!!!

Fred, the owner, is a gem. He went the extra mile to make me feel comfortable when making the most important purchase of my life so far. I spent weeks searching elsewhere for the right ring, but I knew I had found the right place when I came to Unicorn Jewelry. Their wide selection of rings to choose from, Fred’s welcoming handshake, breadth of diamond knowledge, and willingness to help, sealed the deal. Fred told me that I now had a personal jeweler, which made me feel like I could come to him for anything I might need. He and his associates helped my fiancé select her wedding band and we plan on purchasing my band from Fred as well. There need to be more businessmen like Fred, where the customer comes first. I would recommend going to Unicorn Jewelry for all your jewelry needs.

Recently bought my engagement ring here and they spent extra time to educate me on ratings and settings so I could find the right one to fit my budget. They also spent an additional hour and a half showing me how to identify and find the key finger prints on the diamond.This family owned business operates with honesty and integrity. I would never send any of my friends any where else.

My experience here was great. I bought my engagement ring and got a fantastic deal. (Seriously I went to 4 other places and they didnt even come close to the quality/price) Fred is a great owner and he really knows the business I would honesty highly recommend them to anyone looking to buy. Unicorn Jewelry created the perfect engagement ring, custom wedding band from my great grandmothers wedding ring and after 9 years was able to replace my husbands wedding band after he lost it. The staff are professional and very responsive. I was so sad when my husband lost his ring but with their help it is as if it were never lost. My husband and I live in Seattle but will still go back to Unicorn for our jewelry needs.

I had wonderful experiences picking out an Engagement Ring and later wedding bands. I was able to personally select every detail of the rings and their service was outstanding. Great store but not open hours advertised! Had to reduce one star after driving 25 minutes to get here only to find out store not open.Best place in town. The chain stores have terrible prices and customer service. This family owned business is the only place I go for watches and jewelry.

We have bought many things over the years from Unicorn (I know because of all the receipts I have). But no more. Bought a mothers ring in Dec 2017. At initial pickup, one of stones was cloudy and terrible - had them replace it. Then, one of stones fell out a couple weeks later. They repaired it. Then a different stone fell out a couple weeks after getting it back. They repaired that. Now some small diamonds have fallen out.The ring is junk. They blamed my wife for damaging it - cracking the stones, breaking the mounts, etc. But my bride is not an ironworker. This ring is even worn on her non-dominant hand. She has had a multi-diamond anniversary ring for 23 years with no damage at all. The Unicorn ring is just a cheap ring that was priced as a premium.There are other small jewelers that should be able to provide better value.

I called today to this place to see what was the cheapest wedding set they had and the lady on the phone said wow while giggling like if I was doing bad in my pricing cause later she asked me how much are u willing to spend and I said 300 to 400 and she chuckled and said I think we might have some at the clearance section, I think that was rude on how she was judging me on how much I want my bf to spend on my wedding set, thats just wrong. On the plus side, their selection is very good. Customer service was just okay. No one greeted me when I walked in or browsed the display cases for some time, and I felt a little rushed after I did get their attention. I also found their prices to be a bit high. If you are looking for custom jewelry (e.g., engagement ring), I think a far better choice is to visit Par Jewelry which is literally 10 steps away from Unicorn Jewelry, behind their RB store (I found Par Jewelrys customer service to be absolutely outstanding and their prices excellent).

Very disappointed in the customer service, communication, and quality of their work. I gold plated a pendant, and it chipped within 3 days. The job they did actually left my pendant in worse shape than it was originally.They didn’t apologize for ruining my jewelry, nor did they try to rectify the situation. I will NEVER return here.I also bought a kit to gold plate, and it turns out, Im a MUCH better plater than their experienced jewelers in the back. What a joke these people are.

Went in to get a wristband link added to my teenage sons watch so it would fit better, a quality watch at that. The lady (an older blonde) treated us like we didnt belong there. She took the watch and said $10 to add link and disappeared for 10 minutes. The price was not the problem, her attitude was.My son and I were in t-shirts, shorts, and flipflops. But I was also looking to buy my wife a nice ring for Christmas. Dont judge a book by its cover. After our treatment I shut that down quickly. Will take my money and future repairs/maintenance elseware.

My first piece of jewelry was from this store years ago, when I turned 16, I picked out a pair of diamond earrings. I figured this was the place to take an heirloom diamond ring; thats not my style, in to see how much they would buy it for. They said $1500. I told them Id think about it. 3 weeks later, I went back and they said they wont buy it. Combined with having my high end watch destroyed after taking it there to have the battery replaced, I am over this place. They not only ruined my watch that no longer operates, but they also charged me for their mistake of breaking my watch too. It took them 3 months for them to tell me that the watch was broken and they couldnt fix it. They didnt offer to compensate me for my expensive watch that THEY ruined, nor did they offer to replace it with a comparable piece. The best part was that after all that they charged me for replacing the watch battery. Lol.I have heard from 2 people that they took their engagement ring in to have cleaned and unicorn jewelery switched out their diamonds with a lesser quality one. Beware, they have been around forever but are shady & good at it not getting caught.

I dont know if anyone else has had this experience at Unicorn...... I find their customer service to be lacking. I went in to get a watch battery replaced and was completely ignored. No one acknowledged that I had walked into the store. After 5 minutes of trying to get someones attention, I left. I would have understood if they were busy but that wasnt the case.

I lost a small diamond in my ring and I brought it in to get it replaced. When we bought the ring, Unicorn told me that they would replace any small diamonds if they fell out. I brought it into today and they told me they wouldnt replace it. They claimed a prong broke because I mis treated my ring. Well, they went back in their promise. I wanted to double check with other jewerlers if that was the case that a prong broke, and they all told me no. That the craftmanship was poor qaulity. Not only did they go back on their promise the lady was VERY rude and lecturing to me. I am very disspointed Unicorn.

I went here because several people recommended them. I called ahead to make sure they had the loose diamond I was looking for. They assured me they did so I drove down. I get there and they tell me they have a great selection but not what I was looking for? Minus 1 starI am not a diamond expert but I have done my homework. Understand that the most reliable certification for a diamond is GIA. All the other ones are ok but they will rate a diamonds clarity and color on a different scale. An EGL certified F diamond could actually be a G or even I color if you take it to GIA. Same goes for the clarity.This could mean thousands of $$$ in price difference.I sat down to look at her selection, I found a lower grade at a great price. But after a closer look I realized she tried to pass off a forged GIA certificate that did not have all the necessary information. When I asked for the original she didnt have it??? Why are they forging GIA certs? If you buy a diamond with a GIA cert you can call GIA give them the cert # and they will verify it. This one had no cert #, like buying a car without a vin#. Minus 2 starsShe promised to call me or send me the ACTUAL GIA CERT. but I never heard from her again. I feel sorry for all the people that may have fell for this scam. Especially when a couple is excited and looking forward to buying something they tend to overlook details. Minus 1 starI did find an incredible diamond at a great price elsewhere. I dont want to mention the place because this review will look like an advertisement which it is not. Do your homework people, all the information you need is online.
