I absolutely love this place. Seriously some of the best customer service I have ever experienced. They also have an amazing deli menu with a great selection of essentials you expect from a marketplace. Hands down worth going out of the way to hit up this place for anything you need. Keep up the good work!

This is 100% just like a deli you will find on the east coast. They have everything a normal deli provides. Their sandwiches are my go to favorites. Go for the Benny and add bacon. The pizza is on point as well. The avocado toast is awesome and affordable as well. They are very quick and hassle free with their service. Im a regular and come here multiple times a week. I buy food for my team here regularly as well. This place never disappoints.

The perfect place for a snack or picnic shopping for your visit to balboa park! It has it all and at good prices. From cold salads to warm sandwiches, deli, salty and sweet snacks, bubbly drinks and alcohol, it really has it all. I would highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Balboa park. Not much place to sit outside.

Sandwiches are great - ordered Texas Special and Californian. Family had Bennys Special and BLT. Size and amount of stuffing was worth the price tag.

This is the best sandwich shop in San Diego by far. Very lucky to live so close. I go here 1-2 times every week and its consistently amazing. Ive gotten 5 or 6 different sandwiches and theyve all been incredibly good. For the price, you wont find better. Excellent variety, fresh ingredients and FAST service. Also the acai bowls are top notch.

Had pizza with pepperoni. Sausage and mushrooms. Very decent from a liquor store. Was way cheaper then from one of those specialities restaurants everywhere in SD. They had a full lunch menu and breakfast burritos as well. Will go back for breakfast burritos on another trip.

A market store with the most delicious and affordable salads. Yummy. This place can get busy, but they are constantly stocking up. The chicken salad is delicious and light. Ive tried almost all their salads. My favorites are the Balsamic Chicken and the Cobb. But how can I pick a favorite? Lol...they have parking outside and its easy to find on Fifth. I need to try other stuff! I have gone three times in a week!

This place is amazing! My uncle showed it to me over a decade ago and Ive been going here for lunch whenever Im in the area. Food is unbelievable and the service is great! Whether its packed or not I never wait more than 5 minutes for my order. My favs are the Californian sandwich on sourdough toasted, the sausage pizza, or the clam chowder! Id give em ten stars if I could!🤙👌🤟👍

I have been coming to this deli for years. One of the best in San diego next to balboa park. The Selection of food at the deli is over and above. They make darn good pizza also. Very clean and friendly.

Awesome pastrami sandwiches! Get it hot and toasted and go to Balboa park to eat it. Go get a bag of chips too! Pastrami meat was nice, juicy and flavorful.

Stuff is a bit pricey. Small store stuffs, lots of booze to be had. Some good foods. They must be doing something right.. They have been here forever. I remember this place from 30+ years ago.

Have you ever heard Yummy in Layers? Yep, thats what they friendly prepare with love here. I have to be honest that the front of the store wasnt appealing to me but as a long time hunter I wanted to try and oh my Gosh!! Deliciousness!Today we order the Californian with everything that I deserve and some chips. Amazing!Also love their ready to go salads. The team is always fast but without losing the quality and extremely welcoming.

This place was a pleasant surprise! It sits, fittingly, inside a little marketplace. The sandwiches were delicious. I got the Benny - a delightful blend of pastrami, ham and swiss. Paired with the pickle provided on the side, it was umami perfection.The service was fast, too. We ordered three sandwiches and only waited about five minutes.

LOVE Marketplace Deli! Used to work nearby and get lunch here every week. Now whenever Im in the mood for a delicious classic sandwich, I still make the drive over. My favorite is the Californian on sourdough but honestly every other sandwhich Ive tried here has been great. Their potato salad is awesome too!

I have been shopping at the Market Place since the 90s. Wonderful and fabulous pizza by the pie or slice. Equally fabulous deli. Their Reuben sandwiches are to die for and theres a wide variety of salads. Nice staff and an actual parking lot! Weekdays during the lunch hour you should call in your order and pick it up. It gets very very busy.

Ordered a turkey club sandwich from here, and it didnt disappoint. My expectations werent high given this appeared to be a convenience store, but I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by how good the sandwich was. Will be back! :)

I come here for the sandwiches whenever I go to the zoo... I always get the Californian, but changed it up and got a chicken sandwich last time. I always get the Sqaw bread. This is the best bread Ive ever had. Its like wheat but softer and perfect when toasted... Love it!

Awesome spot with limited selection of sundries, large alcohol selection and awesome deli grill. Sommelier on site, dude knows his stuff and will help you pair your meal of ritz crackers with cheese cubes with a very delicious wine or other drink.

Best surprise Ive encountered since moving to the neighborhood 2 months ago. The food here is phenomenal and reasonably priced. Im sitting here eating a veggie breakfast burrito from there right now thinking Never change, Marketplace. You are perfect the way you are. Also kudos to the: Californian sandwich, acai bowl, and booze selection.
