Great SF brewery! Good choice of beers to suit all tastes. Outdoor seating area is planned and spaced out well and the choice of food when we visited was pretty varied from a Mexican food truck, shrimp, donuts and ice cream. It was also great to see local causes and local artisan sellers being given a space to sell their goods. But essentially we came for the beer and this did not disappoint! Look forward to the day when we can sit inside what looks to be a very cool bar inside. We had the parrot hill and the black lager, both well kept and delicious! Would recommend this place, worth the visit!

I understand this whole covid situation bit all i wanted to do is share a snack witha friend who doesnt drink alcohol. But no. The rules here inquire u and the other person to have food. Juts sounds like they are trying to makeoney cuz everything on the menu is 8 or 15 dollars. Not a place to go if u just want small meal or appitizer with a friend.

This is a nice chill place, kinda out of the way but still good energy. Bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable. I like their food truck nights for introducing me to some unique food while enjoying great testing beer.Update/Edit: What a difference a few months makes. Had to knock down two stars here. We started to make this our after work Happy Hour go-to spot due to proximity to our offices. Not sure what happened at the taproom since my initial review, but those friendly interactions with the bartenders have gotten downright salty. One bartender was just plain rude and we decided to find another spot. We gave it another shot a couple weeks ago, because we really liked the place and figured it could just have been a bad day for the guy. Different bartender, not as rude, but I definitely didnt feel welcome. I still like the brews and will continue to purchase at the store, but I wont be returning to the taproom any time soon unfortunately.

Came here twice. Once was several years ago when it first opened and we were able to drink and walk through the actual distillery area and there were food trucks outside. Fun times!Second time was much more recent and was still a great time. The actual bar/lounge area was dimly lit and it wasnt overly crowded for a Saturday night. Easy to find a table, easy to find parking. Its great! And, there are board and card games. We ended up playing Cards Against Humanity and that was fun. We stayed for almost 3 hours, drinking and playing. It was nice and chill.Though, to be honest, its kind of in the middle of nowhere. At least for now. So if youre going for a beer at Speakeasy, youre basically *really* going for *several* beers at Speakeasy.Fun space. Ill definitely be back.

We visited this brewery on when of our trips to Cali, I think like 2011. Yea late on review, sorry i had a blackberry back then. All I can say is this was one of my more liked breweries. The guy pouring brews was cool, the place was in a warehouse. It was like being at a very cool friends garage.

Great beer selection! Nice place to hangout if youre in San Francisco. Tasting room is intimate with lots of seating. Staff are friendly and eager to explain their beers. Speakeasy beers rock! They keep working on improving them. Their brewery tour is fascinating, and attached they have a very cozy lounge bar serving their range of beers for cheap, growlers available too. Theirs is the first Belgian style white wheat beer I liked, so much I drank all sixteen oz. happily. Its out in Bayview, but well worth a trip anytime. I hope to return many times, thanks!

Full disclosure, came here on Googles dime. But wow, what a cool place! Its both a bar with all the Speakeasy beers on tap, and the brewery in the same building. We went on a tour of the brewery and albeit a small establishment, they pump out some tasty beer. This place exudes prohibition style but with that down to earth SF vibe in place of the typical douchebaggery that comes in tow with the newly hip prohibition bar scene. They really care about their beer, confirmed by how they explain it to you and by the taste (and Im not a beer person). The Scarface stout was my beer of the evening. This place is out in the boonies though, so bring your car (they have a parking lot) or brave the light rail past the ballpark (best of luck). Cant wait to come back here when Im driving through.

Great little business theyre running over here. High quality, hoppy beers, a fun tap room, and a really approachable tour. I went during a special event so I dont know if my review is skewed, but they gave an interesting 30-minute tour of the brewery. I overall like their beers because of their complexity. If you like IPAs, youd appreciate Speakeasy. Big Daddy IPA is their flagship beer, but I also like Prohibition. You can tell they really care about their craft. They also have a bar/lounge area where you can buy glasses/growlers or buy some bottles to-go.

Came here as a guest of a Google Expert (Paul Volk) for a Google+ event. Great interior decor and side rooms with a cozy feel. I love the speakeasy style of the front door too. The building has the Speakeasy logo, which is very Gatsby-ish, on the brewery wall out front. The bartenders were friendly and the brewery tour was informative about the Speakeasy brewing process. I had The Witness, a light unfiltered beer, and Prohibition, which was also flavorful and good.

Buried in this weird and, oh, i heard, kinda dangerous part of the southeasternly portion of the city lies a cozy little wooden speakeasy style bar that adds an awesome element to the Speakeasy Brewery. Awesome staff, extremely well stocked with Speakeasys awesome array of selections (duh), you could ind yourself drinking a hard-to-find glass of beer that traveled literal FEET in its short life. The brewery tour itself was awesome, with all of the brewing processes arranged in a nice little tour, which is really fun at a smaller brewery, because everything has a good story or a sort of experimental feel to it. The guy who gave our tour was an excellent tour guide (I believe he gives walking tours on the side as well) but also works there, so he knows the ins and outs of the beer.Great kind of thing to go hit for a night with a bunch of friends. Stay and drink and chill in a rad spot, and get a sidecar/lyft home.

This place is a hike for those without a car or bike, but it can be worth it if youre into the SF Brewery scene. The tour is not remarkable if youve seen a mash ton & brew kettle before, but the taproom they just recently built has a great ambiance and usually has some hard-to-find beers from Speakeasy on draft. A must-do for fans of the brand and the beer-curious. They have a parking lot, but bike there if you can!

I attended a special event here and so I can only review the darker beers I sampled:** Scarface Imperial Stout (Bourbon Barrel Aged)** Butchertown Black AleOf the two, the Butchertown Black Ale was smoother and had a nice chocolate, nutty flavor.I liked the dark lighting and vignettes on the wall, with the sneaky pair of eyes alluding to Speakeasy. The tour was led by a charming beer geek; while it wasnt as great as Boulevard Brewing Companys tour (which is a huge, state of the art facility so Im not sure its fair to compare!), it was informative. Im not sure if they offer free samples at the end of a regular tour since we were at a hosted event.

DRINKS:Speakeasy beers are all very ... tasty. On the menu were many that were higher than average alcohol by volumeSERVICE:bartenders were very attentiveATMOSPHERE;Very cute, speakeasy feel, with the speakeasy door, and old looking bar. Apparently theres BBQ trucks on Sunday and occasional live music. The live music makes it really awesome. At least when we went for the Google City Expert event, it was swanky prohibition kind of band. The only thing is this is so far away from downtown SF, its in the middle of BayView/Hunters Point.. Felt like I was back in the suburbs of South Bay. Not very SF feel. Maybe if they opened up a tap room in the middle of downtown/SOMA, that would be perfect. :D

Its pretty easy to like Speakeasy beers but what I like most about them is that Speakeasy regularly host tasting events/festivals at their brewery. Events usually include unlimited tastings and are themed. Keep an eye out on their event calendar for upcoming events. The only gripe I have about them is the out-of-the-way location. Its a bit tedious to get to using public transportation so take taxi/uber/etc. if you plan to drink.

Take the T-Third Street Muni line South to the Bayview, hop off and walk a quarter of a mile to one of San Franciscos local brewing treasures. Speakeasy Ales & Lagers, which now boasts its own tap room: a dark, cozy setting in one of San Franciscos sunniest neighborhoods, which lends itself to daydreams of the days of booze-smuggling conspiracy.Call or email ahead (theyre quite responsive!) and schedule a tour of the warehouse brewing facility where youll learn ins and outs of large-scale beer brewing and even a few tips for homebrewing. You will also see some brewer humor in the funny signs they have made for each other around the building. Do some tasting ($4-$5) and take home a growler ($15-$20.)

I havent had one that I didnt like! The Big Daddy IPA is one of their more popular beers, but watch out! There is more goodness where that came from (because it came from this very brewery...seriously!) I had the pleasure of enjoying The Accomplice and Scarface. They are knock youre socks off good!
