Best bakery in Noe Valley. The cupcakes are just delicious!

It vaguely looks like what is posted in the online ordering shot (at left). Large is about 7-inch diameter. I think the actual 4 blueberries on mine must be the ones that spilled off in their overflowing photo. Fortunately, their stuff tastes great, but if you do online orders, dont count on it really looking like the photos.

We are gluten free and Noe Valley Bakery made the most amazing gluten free cake for my partner’s birthday. We also tried a raspberry tart of some kind (almond filling?) and a gluten free crust. The raspberry flavor was off the wall fresh and full! I have found my new favorite bakery in the Bay Area. I’ll be back for any special occasion. 😍

- i thought the jalapeño bacon scone was good but nothing too special- would get the twice baked almond croissant again! it was flaky and had a good amount of filling inside

The quiche Lorraine is great, the croissant is very good, but could be crispier on the outside. Have yet to try the bread!

One of my favorite bakery in San Francisco! Located in the best neighborhood of Noe Valley, youll find a delicious bakery. Have been ordering the cheese scone for years now and the salted chocolate cupcake. Yummyyyy. Price is good and staff are always nice. Definitely make a stop whenever you are by this neighborhood! Cant wait to go back there!

One of the best chocolate croissants Ive had. I highly recommend heating them up a little. One of the girls was really helpful and made some fresh coffee for me. Im looking forward to trying more of their pastries and scones!

I ordered two cakes for my daughters birthday that I was very disappointed with, I had ordered butter cream and got whipped cream on both cakes. I submitted my complaint online and want to thank Mary for her timely response to my complaint! Not only did she apologize for the mistake as assured me she would pass along to the cake manager, but she also refunded the full amount, which I wasn’t expecting! Because of this, I will most definitely give them a second go next time I am in need of a cake, everyone makes mistakes, even the best of the best as it was in this case! Thanks again Mary!! ❤️

Every cake, pastry and cookie I have ever purchased here has been good to great but expect to pay $$$ for them. Their cakes are really good; yum.

So good in the hood

I love the bread at this bakery, my daughter would usually drive me sometimes when she’s not busy. They have a discount on certain days and I would buy more than we need for that day. I also buy some pastries for my grandchildren. Today Tuesday, February 9, at around 8:00 am, I encountered 2 young ladies and the taller one was the one who served me. I told her my orders. This is how our conversation went from the time I felt minimized.Her: Can you repeat your last order?Me: The cheese loaf.Her: The Asiago bread loaf!Me: Yes.She went in and took her time to get my orders, my daughter who bought something else from another bakery wondered what was taking me so long. She was already waiting outside in the car.I’m an older Asian woman (72) and I feel that this white young lady was trying to minimize me. She made me feel really “small”.I’m a retired public school teacher and I always emphasized to my students the value of good manners, I guess this young lady was absent when her own teacher taught it.

I go to this place few times a week for bread. Very good, always fresh with very friendly staff. Pastries are also very good.

Amazing cakes, pastries and coffee. This has always been my go to place when I am in the area. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Love the almond croissants (my favorite) and the tarts. I have ordered their cakes couple of times and they are beautiful and amazing in taste!

This bakery will blow your mind! It was so good, my friend and I went back the next day! The mini cupcakes are an explosion in your mouth! My favorite cupcake was the Lemon Drop. My friend loved the Red Velvet. The 2nd time we got cookies... Pecan chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin. Soon Good!! The coffee there is nice too! Im allergic to eggs and dairy and am probably suffering from it right now... But totally worth it! LoL

I have mixed feelings in reviewing this place because its so good and popular and I dont want it to get more crowded. Damn social responsibility. I had a sticky bun and a scone and they were great. I also bought a beautiful loaf of bread that they sliced for me on the spot. Big thumbs up and the wait really wasnt that bad

The cake was really moist the the frosting was super good! I got the red velvet full cake, really sweet and rich.

Everything I’ve gotten from here has been delicious. The apricot ginger loaf! The savory scone! The veggie quiche!One thing to note is that they don’t offer to warm things up e.g. quiche, so that would be better taken home rather than eaten on the spot.

In my humble opinion, after having extensively tried Tartine and Noe Valley Bakery, NVB’s caramelized onion and sesame/poppy seed baguette might be the best thing I had tried (although I really did love Tartine’s country loaf I must admit). NVB’s danishes and mini pizzas are outrageous (the almond danish and ham pizza especially). Can’t recommend enough if you’re in the area.

Delish! The hubby bought me the Got Milk a while back ago...OMG! This time bought the Strawberry cake and had to pick up a savory for my self(cheese & chive scone) and mmmmm! My Kiddo loved her cupcake too, si that is wonderful!

I’ve picked up 2 cakes here for a couple birthdays. So good! The texture is super light and fluffy. Frosting has a silky mouthfeel. One was strawberry and the other was funfetti- I’d honestly have a hard time choosing between the two.

Im so used to peninsula bakeries that dont actually carry a variety of things and you have to plan ahead by preordering what you really need. What a refreshing change with Noe Valley Bakery! You can walk in and have a plethora of baked goods - breads, cupcakes, whole cakes, cookies, pastries - at your whim.We got a variety of cupcakes. They were all delicious but slightly on the pricier side since the size was smaller than I would have expected. Thats fine though, they made up for it with flavor.

A perfect place to pick up a cake at the last minute. Ill sure be coming back. The customer service is indeed wonderful.

Decent cake. Got the got milk? one. My only complaint is that the cake itself wasnt moist. I would definitely go for SusieCakes than thisEdit: my wife on the other hand just loved it! So changing 4 to 5 stars

VERY disappointed with the Irish soda bread. It had no raisins or currants. It was dry & bland even after it was toasted with butter.Loved the Irish cream cupcakes, they were delicious

Cheddar cheese scone has been my favorite for years! Their cupcakes and cakes are so fabulous we had them make our wedding cake! The pies and tarts are always fabulous especially to share with friends. Cant go wrong with anything on their menu

Blew me away. Almond croissant was to die for. Carrot cake mini muffins were out of this world. Fruit tart was very good, not the best I’ve had, but very good. Super clean, friendly staff, all around wonderful.

I bought a red velvet birthday cake from the bakery. It was the best cake I’ve ever had. Their cream cheese icing is out of this world. They also made it with custom icing the day before it was needed. I’m going to make up occasions to have more of their cake in my life.

Turtle cheesecake: 1/5, only redeeming factor is the Oreo crust. The chocolate center is made with cloyingly sweet chocolate and the cheesecake is all the calories without any mouthfeel of creamy indulgence.Brownie: 3/5, nothing to write home about, better after it’s been in the freezer and becomes chewy. I prefer my homemade brownies.Small fruit tart: 2/5: this was most disappointing of all because there’s so much potential for a good fruit tart. The pastry dough used is rather flavorless without the authentic delicate, buttery profile I love in tart crusts. The crème pâtissière was dull as well. It’s infinitely easy to make good crème pâtissière, what’s the issue here?Seeded bread loaf: 4/5: this is very good execution. Even if I’m not that into pepitas, I think most people would enjoy this bread.I’ll probably have to commute back to Thorough Bread and Pastry for real quality tarts. I’ll keep testing NVB, though, and will report back if I find a cake or tart of high quality. You never know! Maybe I made all the wrong choices.

Good at what they do, but they only make what they make. No LA or Chicago or NYC bakery or Jewish bakery. But better than most in SF ! The owners should visit famous Bea’s Bakery in LA for new & fresh ideas. A 4 could easily move to a 5.

Noe Valley Bakery is amazing! We just ordered the most delicious salted caramel cake for a retirement party and the process was super simple, and the cake turned out BEAUTIFUL! Im a School Social Worker for San Francisco and reached out to them to ask about a potential donation for a teacher who was retiring after 30 years teaching 1st grade (goodness knows, that’s someone who deserves a cake). They JUMPED at the chance and were incredibly kind and gracious. When I was picking the cake up I saw some chocolate cherry bread and couldn’t pass up this combo of what are literally my three favorite foods and it also did not disappoint – amazing!!

This is an comforting neighborhood bakery with well-executed pastries and bread. Maybe doesn’t have the brand recognition of a Tartine but some fruit breads are truly epic. Convenient location especially if dwelling in Noe Valley. One star off because the smiley cookies haven’t appeared in a while and they are the bomb! Come for the King cake around Fat Tuesday so you might find the baby!!!

Very nice. Usually, there isnt a wait but if its a holiday or popular national day there is one. The bakes are very good and even though the prices may seem a bit over average, they are worth it. I would recommend this to anyone who has a craving for holiday treats.

Ive been a customer for ten years, and I honestly cant remember if Ive already reviewed them or not. During the Covid-19 crises, they have been such a beacon of light in the neighborhood that I really feel like I have to give them some extra love.Theyve stayed open, immediately put into place safety measures, and came up with ways to help the community with take and bake items, and bread making kits so people could have something to look forward too during SF lock down. We all have very much needed any little thing to hold onto. Some days, a cup of vanilla chai latte was the best part of the whole day! They are the heart of Noe Valley and I cant wait for my partner to order my birthday cake at the end of June! We got the rainbow Pride cake last year, and it will forever be my very very favorite.

One of my favorite bakeries in the city! They feature rugelach to cupcakes. Cake quality is basic high end new American. I come here with my nephews because they love the M&Ms cookies. They used to have a yellow smiley face cookie that I miss - bring it back, Noe Valley Bakery! Occasional lines and once in a blue moon they’ll be sold out of everything.

I want to love local businesses. I suck up the cost and buy things. Tonight I bought things and half way home realized it was a light bag, looked and found out that things I paid for were missing. I thought I forgot my bag on the counter...it was my fault and they would be waiting to give it back to me. I returned to find the door locked and a closed sign. There were 4 people inside. I knocked on the door. No one looked up. I knocked and I knocked. Finally someone opened the door a couple inches and asked what I wanted. They had no idea who I was, why I was there and what I wanted. It was not my fault. They did not even care.. They slipped missing pastry in my bag and glad to see me go...no sorry for forgetting, no here is an extra piece for our mistake. The shop was closed and the extras would be going in the bin. I am so angry and I will definitely not be back. I can do better. Thanks Noe Valley Bakery for pointing that out.

The bread here is amazing. We try a different loaf every other week. Their cupcakes and pastries are not to be missed!

The storefront lures you in with its adorable dioramas and keeps you salivating over prettily designed cupcakes and quality breads. I make it a point to stop here on my infrequent visits to this peaceful neighborhood - even if just for a dark roast espresso for the road. The desserts are picture-perfect for special occasions. They usually stock colorful birthday candles for the cake and DIY dough for cookies or scones.

The Magnolia Bakery really does have the best of the best when it comes to desserts! The cupcakes are amazing and the banana pudding is one-of-a-kind and it is the BEST banana pudding out there.
