The Haight street location is my favorite. I have been shopping here for a couple decades now. The staff are friendly and enthusiastic about making customers welcome. This shop ranks highly over other stores in the business regarding customer shopping experience and value. Good products in stock and I always find something I want to add to my wardrobe . πππ§¦πΆοΈ
They have a really cool selection of clothes for everyone.from the diehard haight street hippy crowd to the club kids,to the more conservative types.
I have sold my clothes many times here and always have a good service. The staff are super friendly. During the pandemic they changed their system. And, If you wanna save your time, make an appointment. Iβll come back again to sell more clothes)).
Got 2 bargain jacket/sweaters like new ...nice people, high quality-nothing shoddy, good prices
If your a smart one who likes to recycle clothing its great. But if your dumb thinking you will get money by sending your good clothing to Buffalo exchange then your at least right once in your life. Leather coats and Levis . Worth nothing. Could of kept the Levis and coats and made 200 at Levis. Buffalo exchange are crooks
Its just like any thrift store. You might get lucky, and you might not π they really could have better clothes especially for the prices they charge. You can find all the same quality things at goodwill down the street.
Only place Ive bought clothes for a decade. Great service to boot.
I dont like the the clothes trading is appointment only
I have been a fan of Buffalo Exchange for a decade now. Originally from Phoenix so of course I seek them out wherever I might be residing. I was most disappointed in this location when attempting to donate unpurchased items. I had called to inquire if they partner with local organizations to donate unpurchased items during selling which they confirmed. So I headed over to the location. Of course during covid there are restrictions in place which I understood. I ensure all items were laundered and left to sit for 24hrs. Upon arrival to the store there was no at the register or in the store for a solid five or so minutes. Then I realized the gentleman that I thought was shopping was actually the store associate. I inquired of where I might be able to drop off items for donation. He didnβt respond. I asked again and he reluctantly took my bag and returned it empty with not even a thank you or can we assist with anything further. Was the most strange interaction Iβve ever had at any Buffalo Exchange Location. Was hoping to do a good deed in times of extremes and was left with a saddened impression of feeling like I put the store out rather than help the community. Hope this can be addressed to ensure patrons offering to help during COVID are well received and not turned away for lack of customer service.
My favorite thrift store! they have a lot of options. i find the menβs t shirt section is a real gem. thanks buffalo :) oh it smells like stale cigarettes but everything else is fine.
Equivocally unimpressed with the sell by mail program. Do not waste your time.
Its a shame, I liked coming here to buy some used clothes, however, to sell them, they said have to make an appointment, which is usual during Covid-19, but then she said, only accept clothes, every other day, leave for 24 hours, which they have posted, and will take another 3 days to process (really, just for clothes) i guess to clean for potential virus, but 3 days!! Better to go online or just drop off at Goodwill, since they dont give much for clothes, even good clothes.
Bought a new shirt yesterday.
These guys had a wide selection of retro and modern fashion and I love it. It is one of the few stores in the Haight that still has that traditional thrift store feel, along with very realistic prices. They have a wonderful selection of shirts, pants, skirts, jackets, jeans, and even shoes. Will come back soon!
As an expat living abroad in Germany - this is one of the places I truly miss. They had a great selection of clothing here and it was pretty much all in good condition and fashionable by some sense of the imagination. What I enjoyed the most though was how well organized their clothing was by size and type. Normally at thrift stores its a gigantic headache trying to riffle through all of the mismatched clothing attempting to find your size.
This is the worst Buffalo Exchange by far, and a contender for the worst in the city. Everything is super expensive, thereβs a lot of gnarly βdesignerβ clothes, and the employees are big mad 24/7. Thereβs a Goodwill across the street, consider trying your hand there.
Welcomed in, was asked if I needed help finding anything. Genuine interaction.
Iβve been to the buffalo exchange in la but i like this one better. Bigger selection and the workers are way more friendlier and helpful. I wasnβt to familiar with the store so when i asked for help i wasnβt rudely just ignored or a single hand just fanning me the way that Iβm looking for. People here are nicer.
*Love* this location of Buffalo Exchange. The staff are always super helpful and up-to-date with the latest fashions. I have sold my clothing here often although I always end up spending the money the same visit since there is *always* new and cool stuff to find here.Great selection of tops, bottoms, and shoes - and they have some really great stuff for Burning Man and Halloween as well. Plus, the prices are way more affordable than the boutiques you find on the same street.
Contrary to some of the other comments, I found the staff here to be super friendly! Would definitely come back here to sell and trade.
Looked like it had some nice things, but clothing racks were too numerous and space so close together it made getting around with other customers browsing a challenge. Left without going in as hard as I normally do at NY locations.
Ive been shopping here since college & this place always carries an eclectic range of apparel. They keep it contemporary but also have vintage items. Found many cozy sweaters here. Once i bought an 80s gray puff sleeved dress for only $10.
This place is always crowded and lively. The checkout lines and the wait to sell your clothes can sometimes get pretty long. The clothing is trendy vht sometimes consignment items are close to the price they would be if they were new from some stores (h&m, Target).
Never once have I walked in to this place empty-handed and left in the same predicament. Much trendier than the run-of-the-mill thrift store, Buffalo Exchange has employees specifically assigned to accept or reject the clothing coming in based off quality and style. I find Buffalo especially useful for buying fashionable mens shoes. Other good finds include flannel button-ups, cool Ts, and going out-worthy jackets. Check it out if youre in the area!
I have been to several buffalos and this one is one of my favorites. We were able to sell a lot of old clothes here and got a good amount in store credit. The girls that helped us were really nice and great at making conversation. Shopping there can be overwhelming for me because it can get crowded at times. I dont love looking through every piece of clothing to find something I like, but they are really organized here.
Selling clothes here was a breeze. Super friendly staff. WAY better experience than Crossroads, another clothing exhange store nearby. Will absolutely back to BuffEx. Thank you BE!
The same joy you get when you sing/hum Thrift Shop, is felt when you actually shop in Buffalo Exchange. There are some real hidden gems and great deals. As a big fan of sports jerseys (baseball), Im elated when I find a quality old-school jersey every now and again at Buffalo. All sorts of items can be bought and sold, just ask whats available (to buy or sell).
Good store. Okay staff. Prices are good for what your getting (slightly used, trendy clothes). This is a Second hand store so dnt get uppity about the prices. If you want thrift store prices go to an actual thrift store where clothes are donated, not re bought.
Great little thrift store. I always find gems here. Plenty of other good shopping nearby too
If youre visiting from out of town, and want something SO SF, aside from a marijuana card, or an ass grab in the castro, go here! Great selection of randomness! Whats nice is the staff will tell you right up front if you look good in what youre wearing or not. I bought a few jackets from here, I recommend checking that section!
Great place to find some trendy clothes at a reasonable price. The selection is limited - perhaps eclectic is a better word - but the staff is friendly and there are lots of bargains to be had - unlike many used/consignment clothing stores.
Possibly the best buffalo Ive been to, what with the solid organization and selection. Someone said theyre picky, and you can kinda tell, as the selection is stellar. Plus the prices are stupid reasonable.
Staff were friendly enough but 1) theyβre overly picky and, most importantly, 2) they donβt fold your clothes when putting it back in your bag (they just bunch it up and throw it in). Platoβs Closet is way better.
They had some awesome stuff but really badly lacked in sizes over an XL. However still worth the trip. Check it out. Plz work on increasing size range.
Best clothes and shoes with the most reasonable price
Great place to pick up highend secondhand you wouldnt find at other thrift shops, but they never take the clothes i bring in!
Good customer service but this location is usually pretty picked over. I always find better stuff in the Berkeley or Mission locations.
Theyre extremely picky. The cash option doesnt leave you with much money.Id youre looking to exchange youre in good shape.
Lots of good energy. get cash or trade
Very good value, even for some branded stuff, decent and unique selection - a must visit for clothes enthusiasts
Rude staff, unfriendly. Watched one of the gals belittle one worker then turn around and badmouth a customer. I dropped my clothes and walked out. Shame on her.
They were super nice. They offered to hold the shoes I wanted at the counter as I continued to shop.
There was someone with a buyer name tag, but you wouldnt know it by her actions. While 4 people waited to sell, she chatted endlessly with a friend. I know all about the photo shoot shes doing on Saturday, and what time, and what he should bring. She would also randomly wander off into the back of the store and move clothes from one rack to the other. How about do that stuff when theres no one waiting to sell? Or maybe get some of the other people in the store to do it rather than randomly wandering out of the store and/or doing absolutely nothing?I left. They should pay for both the clothes that they buy and the time that they waste.
Beware! This place will suck you in and you will inevitably spend a fortune - however, thats a good thing when you walk out with an entirely new wardrobe. Always extremely trendy clothing though so its worth the lengthy stay!
Selling your clothes is always good--theyre super helpful if youre selling. However, everytime you turn around, it feels like the staff are judging you. Either youre too hipster or youre not hipster enough.
A place to sell your stuff. They are quite picky, but if your stuff is good, you dont have to worry about it.
Coming from Phoenix, this Buffalo Exchange is hands down a much better shopping experience in so many ways. Great selection of outerwear for men, and a plethora of shoes and shirts to scoop up!
The staff is the worst, so rude. The clothes are sized by idiots, like they must not even look at sizes before slapping a size tag on them and the prices are ridiculous for used items. On average a t-shirt is $15, and the prices only get higher. Worst thrift store.
Great selection of used goods. Decent buy-back prices.
These guys give me great prices on my clothes, well that is when they choose to buy them :)
If your looking to sell your stuff dont come to this place, there very picky with what they take its a waist of time
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Donβt go there
Expansive for either vintage and second hand, and there arent many products in the store.
This store is very racist I bring a bag of jeans probably 12 pair ranging from LRG Rocawear American Eagle perfect condition they told me theyre looking for slim fit an up-to-date he wears a size 28 they didnt take the time to even look through anything the employee stepped out with me and told me that the manager is very racist please do not support Haight Street
Great spot to buy some recycled threads.
Relatively clean location with friendly staff and wide selection of used clothing.
With BExchange is a hit or miss. though it is located in a great are, you can find things for very cheap, vintage, and much much more. prices are resonable and the ambiance is nice.
Good selection of vintage clothing. Not as good as it was in the 80s but still worth a look.
I was pleasantly surprised by my epic finds here. Worth the stop!
Great clothes Ive bought a lot of things here
Good selection, full of tourists, hidden gems every once in awhile.
Great history behind within this location. Is very pricey tho
If you have some time to look around, youll find something great for a good price!
Army surplus and more. Big and tall sizes too
The best for renew your closet and style without spend much!!
Pretty big selection, went in looking for shirts for a 70s party and found a wild one right off the bat!
Great area, great staff, great clothes⦠if youre lucky atleast. Walked out with 2 shirts that I would of never thought Id find. Had to decide between 6 other shirts just cause I wasnt thinking of buying anything when I got there but found some awsome gems. I recommend just taking a quick stroll i bet youll find something of your taste.
Nice. Good selection. Kinda smelled.
Good clothing selection at bargain prices
Great selection. Prices not spectacular.
Great eclectic options, and friendly staff too!
Thrift shops are getting really expensive these days. Blame it all on Macklemore. This one still has some hidden gems but be expected to put in effort to find it. Overall I would say the prices are just like any apparel store.
Great selection of clothing for women and men
Great customer service! β€οΈ
Excellent thrift shop for sf.
Good selection and prices
Good quality clothes for all occasions
Over-priced for second hand clothes.
Its a hit and miss with this store. But overall you can usually find some hidden gem.
This one gets a lot of business but they always seem to have something I must buy.
Every time I go I would find something here! :)
I found and bought an original 1989 World Series shirt here.
Have come cool stuff
