Amazingly fast, friendly, delicious, and reasonably priced cafe. Went several times and really enjoyed it.

My review is based on take-out on 3/7/2021. Indoor dining wasnt available as the owner wants the staff vaccinated before that can happen. New Taraval Cafe makes a very tasty breakfast! My Irish Breakfast was ready in about seven minutes. It was two eggs, Irish sausages, two Irish bacon pieces, black pudding with potatoes and a piece of sourdough toast. Their version of the Irish breakfast does not include what is typically in an Irish breakfast, which is baked beans, grilled tomatoes, Irish soda bread and/or mushrooms. They did include black and white pudding pieces which is typically included in a Full English Breakfast. This was certainly a good lazy Sunday treat for myself. I love using the sourdough bread to break the yolk and soaking it before eating it. Now I have this weird craving for some tea. Good job New Taraval Cafe. I enjoyed my meal very much this morning.

Outstanding local diner for breakfast. The staff is very friendly and no joking around with checking your vax card (which is awesome). The portions are generous and the chipotle on the eggs Benedict is delicious.

Freshly cut up fruits which I opted for instead of the potatoes. Clean place, in fact a worker who drop some jam packets pick it up and threw it as oppose to putting it back!👍

This neighborhood spot is family run and a must go. The owners and staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food is your usual diner fare but made with care and quality ingredients. Recently theyve been experimenting with the menu more. Try their French toast with grapefruit curd, it will blow your mind.

This is a fantastic place for breakfast. Service is quick and you are seated right away. It is a wonderful little neighborhood cafe. The owner and staff are so nice and helpful. The food is delicious whatever you order. You never have to ask for refill on coffee or soda. They come out like magically with the hot coffee pot or grab your empty cup and fill it with water or soda. The wait staff even have time to chat a little between customers. Great way to start your morning and the guys there are always in a sunny mood.

Small dinner with a small town feel. The staff here is friendly, funny and provide speedy service. They come over and chat and theyre on top of keeping our coffee mugs topped off. This is one of the places I doesnt have to flag them down for a refill. The price is very reasonable for breakfast. 2 eggs, bacon and 2 pancakes for $5 before 10am is a steal. Will definitely be back to try out their burgers for lunch. The place is very crowded for a week day morning. Im glad to see that theyre very popular with the locals.

A small local business thats quiet, yet busy with regulars. The menu is not large, but has the standard breakfast stuff & some lunch items. Staff is nice, but not super attentive, but will get whatever when you do ask.I ordered the New Taraval Special, which is two eggs, 2 bacon/sausage, & 3 slices of french toast. Overall, it was pretty good, but the bacon was a bit tough to bite/chew, but isnt a major issue. But otherwise, everything else was cooked fine.

The service and the food were amazing but this should not be under the quick bites section of Google maps search. It was very reasonable service time for a sit down restaurant. But we needed fast to make our appointment and we were late. But the food was great. Would definitely go back when I have time to enjoy.

Its traditional, its basic, but its oh-so-good, cheap, and super-friendly. Since I lived one block away I had the good fortune of enjoying this great breakfast cafe on numerous occasions. Highly recommended are the pancakes, french toast, hash browns, and endless cups of coffee...Parking: Not so great in direct proximity, but ample parking towards the Taraval park 1.5 blocks up the hill.Groups: Since its all booths and one small counter, 4 is probably the upper-limit for the average citizen.

This is a great value local greasy spoon place that I love to patronize. Their breakfast is typical of what youd find at any breakfast place and they do a solid good job with it. Get here early on weekends or expect to wait quite a bit because its not a huge place!

Very accommodating staff, I came in with my 97-year-old aunt and 83-year-old mom. I asked for a booth in the back coz my companions were feeling cold. Portions were big, great corned-beef-hash, I tasted my aunts order. Big plus was the fresh fruits that came with my omelette! We will be back!

Their limited menu is intentional and does a great job of showing off their strengths rather than making the mistake too many restaurants make--trying to build massive menus to meet any possible request. Youll appreciate their focus on just giving you honest, generously prepared food to start your morning right. They do lunch as well, but we are so in love with their breakfasts that weve never tried them in the afternoon!

Great local breakfast place. As an out of town visitor, I appreciated the simple menu that featured good breakfast food. Friendly staff, particularly the guy who seats people real funny and kind. Also fun to watch the person working the grill. Only reason not 5 stars is the wait time. They have a smaller seating arrangement so depending on the size of your party, you might be waiting a few mins.

Fast, friendly service and generous portions of standard diner food at this no-frills, hole-in-the-wall greasy spoon.Three things stood out to me as really exemplary:(1) Coffee was better than most diners. You expect watery, flavorless coffee at a place like this, but the coffee here was tasty and strong.(2) Lightning fast service with a smile. There were like 4 different people who attended to me, and I was constantly being checked on, so my coffee was never less than half full. Everyone was really warm and friendly even they blazed through taking care of a packed restaurant.(3) Substituting fruit for a mountain of greasy potatoes was a standard option that they offered. The fruit was a large portion of apple, orange, tangerine, green grapes, and black grapes.

My teenage son and I vacationed in San Fran for a week and rented an AirBnB in the neighborhood and saw this cafe pop up when we searched for nearby breakfast places. Its really just a little hole in the wall kinda diner, but their food is SOLID. I had an omelette one morning (the sour dough toast was so damn good) and my son had pancakes and bacon: we were both pleased. Another morning I had scrambled eggs and french toast (and my son had pancakes and ham steak) and it was delicious. Bring cash (they dont take credit or debit); be prepared to wait a little if its busy, but the food will not disappoint you. Very good.

Love this little breakfast place. Everything on the menu is good. My favorite part is that you have a choice of hashbrowns or fresh fruit. I always pick the fruit because it is a nice variety of seasonal fresh fruit, not the pre-pack stuff that is full of mushy melon.

Definitely a hole in the wall, diner/breakfast, type of place. Great friendly service, QUICK coffee top offs, food is just ok though. The omelettes use Kraft cheese instead of actual real cheese!? Ugh

The food was great, the service was as well. They are very busy and dont have as many seats as they need. I ordered ahead and picked up the food. The waiters were very friendly and helpful. Amazing for how busy they were. I spoke to a few other customers and everyone really loved the place. Its like a neighborhood diner and customers are on first name basis with the waiters and cooks. Ill be going back to try more items on the menu. So far Ive liked everything Ive eatten there.
